Splashes of Color
Luna wandered out through the tall grass of the field faer home rested in. It was nearing sunset, and fae really wanted to try and capture the colors of the sky on faer art pad this time rather than simply watch the vibrant colors slowly fade away. The new set of alcohol-based pens and parchment paper were the perfect tools for the job that fae was hoping to pull off.
The tall blades of grass were surprisingly soft as they brushed against the creamy skin of faer ankles, which the high-water jeans didn't protect. The brightly colored blue, purple, and pink sneakers stuck out loudly against the natural earthy tones of the ground, making it easier to see where faer placed faer feet in the thick grass. Finally getting to the top of the small sloped hill fae favored, Luna sat down on the well-worn patch of grass and prepared faer materials from the bag fae had brought, humming a quiet made-up song as fae set faerself's up.
Bright oranges and reds stretched out above faer now that the sun started to touch the horizon. Luna smiled at the sight and immediately grabbed a couple of markers and held them into the air to gauge their color against the sky. Seeming satisfied, fae grabbed faer sketch pad and laid on faer back, pulling the braid over faer shoulder to keep it from getting tangled in the grass. Fae started to hum Here Comes the Sun while spreading the various shades of yellow, orange, and red markers onto the canvas before switching to get the blue-green in as well.
Once the colors shifted into different shades, Luna expertly pulled off the page fae was working on and carefully laid it on the ground, making sure it was secured against the breeze with faer bag before reaching for new marker shades to sample against the sky. It was now reflecting a pale blue, almost lilac in shade, with yellow and a more pinkish-red, so fae quickly matched the markers and let them bleed over the paper with long strokes.
The next set had the periwinkle blue fading into the indigo night. It bled into the pinks and reds to blend into a deep, vibrant purple. Streaks of pink and orange still shone out from the horizon, however they were quickly being swallowed by the deep pink that lined the purple. Luna copied the scene diligently, smiling brightly at the finished product before laying it out on the ground with the others. Fae laid back on faer back and savored the remaining colored sky to faerself, not wanting to share this last bit of color with others.
It didn't take faer long to notice that a particular shade of pink looked the same as the striped ones on faer shoes. To see for certain this was the case, Luna hoisted faer legs up into the air to an almost ninety-degree angle, causing the loose pants to slide up faer legs. Fae hummed while tilting and turning faer feet in every which-way, mesmerized as various levels of light hit the shoes. Fae tried to match their colors to the ever-changing shades in the sky.
Smiling again, Luna managed to find an almost perfect angle from faer viewpoint that had faer shoes almost vanish among the cloudless dusk of summer. It was a lovely sight to visualize, as if fae was melting into the sunset like the day was.
