Responses to Reviews:
RonaldM40196867: Not really, it'd be cool to have but it would not be cool to deal with other, potentially nefarious, people having it.
Zigzagdoublezee: Making Wu more competent was one of the things I wanted to change in this story, but I get the sense that he did care just as much in canon. And Raiko certainly isn't the most popular character if the reviews of this story are anything to go by, but I can understand his motives.
Sharpe: I don't know what her name would be, I nearly called her Mai before choosing Hotaru. I think she would be a bender, it seems quite common in the Royal Family. I don't know who her father is, either a Fire Nation nobleman or some love match seems most likely. I'd lean towards a love match because that's what Zuko and Mai were. Other than that, my vision for Izumi's daughter is within this story as Princess Hotaru, though canon will doubtless differ if she is ever introduced. As for the firebending abilities, I like 1,2, and 3. 1 in particular seems like quite a cool ability for a blind Firebender to have.

Asami
"Absolutely not!"
Korra burst through a doorway angrily, startling one of Asami's secretaries. Jinora and Asami trailed behind her. Jinora had just conveyed her a very important message from an old enemy, and it had not gone down well.
"He said it was important!" Jinora tried.
"I don't care!" Korra whirled on her. "You were there! You know what he did!"
"I do," Jinora folded her arms, "but he said something was wrong with the Spirits!"
"He says a lot of things!" Korra threw her hands up. "Why are we believing this monster again? Are we so trusting that you don't think he's capable of lying? Of manipulating you?"
"I believe him!" Jinora said stubbornly. "Because I've felt it too!"
"You're not the first person to tell me to go to see him," Korra ranted, "Suki was as well. Why is everyone so keen for me to visit him? What do I owe him? Do you want me to bring him cakes? Tell him I forgive him? If anything he owes-"
She realised what Jinora had said.
"Wait, you've been feeling it?"
"I have," Jinora confirmed. "Every so often, for the past few months, I get a searing pain, a flash of purple in my vision, and I wake up on the floor."
"You've been feeling that too?"
Asami saw the anger leave Korra, replaced by sympathy.
"You mean it's been happening to you?" Jinora cocked her head and looked at her sharply.
"Well, yes," Korra confirmed, nodding. "Do you have any idea what's causing it?"
"No," Jinora replied. "It can happen at any time."
"Do you think he's causing it?" Korra asked darkly.
"I've never heard of anyone else it happened to, and it hasn't happened at all before the past few weeks. He'd have to be targeting us specifically."
"Which I wouldn't put past him," Korra pointed out. "You helped defeat him and he wants to kill me anyway."
"That's not what he said," Jinora replied earnestly. "He wants you to help the spirits because that's doing your job properly, apparently..."
She trailed off as Korra's face turned a strange shade of red.
"He's a liar then," she said. "It's a trick. It has to be a trick."
"But what if it isn't? I know what I saw," Jinora set her jaw and stared at her.
"And I know what he's like," Korra countered. The two of them stared at each other for a long while until Asami intervened.
"Look, what if she's right?" She asked tentatively.
"You're taking her side?" Korra exclaimed. "Really?"
"It could be important!" Asami defended herself. "He's currently chained in a cell buried deep below the earth's surface! What can he do to you anyway? I know you hate him and I don't take pleasure in saying this either, but what if we need him?"
"Well, if we need the work of ancient airbender philosophers twisted to justify terrorism any time soon, I'll be sure to let him know," Korra sneered. Then she turned and began to walk away again.
Asami stared at her retreating back. There was now only one option left to her, she decided; she would have to go herself. If Korra didn't want to go, which she totally understood, then maybe this would solve the problem without forcing Korra into that situation.
"Fine," Asami shouted after her. "This is difficult for you, I know. So I'll visit him, see what he wants."
Korra stopped, but did not turn around.
"This is probably best," Asami continued. "This way you don't have to see him..."
She turned to the secretary, who was still stood by her desk.
"Phone ahead to the prison, will you?" She asked. "I'll go now. And tell them to ready the Satomobile."
"Asami are you insane?" Korra whirled around. "He'll kill you! He'll use you to escape! Probably both! You can't do this!"
"I must," Asami said. "Jinora says I must, and I trust her. And if he is the one making both of you suffer those... episodes, then I have a few thousand volts of electricity just for him. But if it's not, then he can help. I'm certain of it."
"What makes you think you can trust him at all?" Korra pleaded.
"Trust him?" Asami replied. "Of course I can't trust him. He's a terrorist who tried to kill you! But if there's one thing I know about that man, it's that he absolutely hates authoritarians. We're in this mess because of that."
"So you're relying on him hating Kuvira more than he hates us," Korra finished. "But how much news do you think he even gets down there?"
"I can always tell him," Asami shrugged. "It's no big deal."
It was her turn to go to leave.
"Wait!" Korra grabbed her hand. "Please don't go! It'll be dangerous."
"Don't worry, I won't go alone," Asami placated her. "I'll have my electro-glove. And he'll be chained up! Metal chains, too. I won't even have to hit him to fry him if he tries anything."
Korra looked like she was trying to swallow something unpleasant. But finally she forced out the words.
"At least let me go with you!"
Asami shook her head. "You said you hate it!"
"I do hate it! I hate the very idea of it! But of course I'm not going to let you do it alone."
She glared at Jinora, who waved uncomfortably.
"Plus, I get to shut everyone else up. No more talk of Zaheer after this."
"No more talk of Zaheer after this," Asami echoed. "I promise."
"Alright," Korra grumbled. "Let's get this over with."
She paused, and then added with clearly forced bravado;
"And if he tries anything, I'll electrocute him myself."
Asami followed her down the stairs, wondering what she had just got herself into.
