Sunset Shimmer's Trip Out In The Lake

The next day, Sunset Shimmer decided to go out once again. "Now what's in it for today?" she thought as she walked alongside a lake. "So what's going to happen for me today?" Sunset Shimmer thought the next moment.

Just then a voice called out to her. "Hey! Are you looking for something to do?" Sunset Shimmer turned to see an Earth pony getting ready to go boating out in the lake.

The pony, who had just finished loading his rowboat with supplies had a orange coat with dark green mane. His cutie mark was in the shape of a small boat. "Well, yes," answered Sunset Shimmer, "I was looking for something to do." "Ok, might I make a suggestion?" the pony asked. "What?" asked Sunset Shimmer.

"Do you want to go out in the lake with me today?" the pony asked. "Well," Sunset Shimmer thought about it for a moment, "I guess so." "That's settled," the pony said, "There's room for one more. Climb aboard."

So Sunset Shimmer hopped into the boat with the male Earth pony and they rowed out into the middle. "By the way, my name is Victor," said the Earth pony, "Nice to meet you. Who are you first of all?"

"My name is Sunset Shimmer," Sunset Shimmer told the Earth pony, whose name is Victor, "So I take it that you like going out in lakes." "Sure," replied Victor, "I'm a fisher pony of sort. Well, not much really, but I do catch fish, for fun."

"I see," Sunset Shimmer said, "What else do you do?" "I also check for anything wrong in the rivers and lakes," explained Victor. "You mean like pollutants and litter?" asked Sunset Shimmer.

"Yes," Victor answered, "But today, I don't need to do that kind of job. I chose to go out and have fun today." "Oh, that's nice for you," Sunset Shimmer said, "So you're having some kind of a day off today."

"Yeah, that's it," replied Victor, "I see that you are a unicorn. Impressive. I heard that your type can do magic." "Oh sure," Sunset Shimmer replied, "Watch this."

With that said, Sunset Shimmer used her magic and made a small mass of water rose up out of the lake. "Impressive," Victor commented, "I've never seen something like that before." But then the magic wore off and the water splashed back into the lake.

"As you just saw," Sunset Shimmer said, "I'm still to young to use magic full time." "I see," Victor said, "Still a youngster." "I know," Sunset Shimmer replied, "I'm still learning."

"Anyway," Victor said, "I chose to go the quiet way like boating and fishing for fun, so I really don't get to know much about unicorn ponies, because no magic is required for quietness."

"I see," Sunset Shimmer said. "Anyway we're out in the middle," Victor said, "So it's time to be quiet and see what happens." "Fine," Sunset Shimmer replied in a quiet tone of voice.

They both sat and waited. "First birds, now fish," Sunset Shimmer whispered. "Please," Victor said, "Quiet." "Sorry," Sunset Shimmer whispered. "Look!" Victor pointed out.

Sunset Shimmer looked into the lake. "If the lake is clear," Victor explained, "You can see the fishes. Look at them all!" "I see them," Sunset Shimmer replied. "They're too peaceful right now to catch," Victor said, "But aren't they a marvelous sight?" "Yeah," Sunset Shimmer said.

"There are even more fish," Victor explained, "But you can't see them, as they're too far down in the dark depths of the lake." "I'll go with that," Sunset Shimmer said, "This is impressive!" "Thanks for the complement," Victor said.

For hours, the two ponies watched the fishes swimming in the lake and some even jumped out of the water to amaze them. "Wow, I'm really surprised!" Sunset Shimmer said. "Ok," agreed Victor, "Right there with you!"

When it was time for the sun to set, Victor knew it was time to call it a day. Victor rowed the boat back to the dock. "Thanks for that trip," Sunset Shimmer said to Victor.

"No problem," Victor replied, "I'm glad to give somepony a special trip. I hope we can go out again soon." "And I hope I get to do something like that again," Sunset Shimmer said, "Thanks again!"

"You're welcome," Victor replied as Sunset Shimmer turned around and began to walk back home.

"Wait a minute!" Victor called out, "You want to be friends?" However, Sunset Shimmer did not hear Victor's question and left him far behind. "Maybe I'll let you think about it," Victor called out.
