These are stories about Sunset Shimmer's days before she became a student at the School For Gifted Unicorns. So it takes places before Equestria Girls and of course, The Fall Of Sunset Shimmer.

23. Sunset Shimmer's High Step

Sunset Shimmer's High Step

The following day, after Sunset Shimmer's double cave mishap, she woke up to start a new day. "Right," she said, "Time to get started again today." She then got her usual breakfast. "Hopefully," Sunset Shimmer said, "I won't end up in another cave mistake like that ever again. That's the smart thing to do today."

And after Sunset Shimmer got her usual breakfast, she stepped outside to think about what she is going to do today. "All right," she said, "I think today is the day that I do something unique. But what?" Sunset Shimmer decided to go to the local forest. "I wonder what's in store for me today?" she thought to herself.

But this time, Sunset Shimmer discovered something odd. "Wha?" the thought. She saw that some of the trees had been knocked down by something. The fallen trees now form a familiar structure.

"They look like stairs," Sunset Shimmer said, "It looks like they go up into the sky. What happened here? It looked like these trees had been knocked down by something. But what? Well, I don't know, but I don't want to find out."

So Sunset Shimmer decided to climb the fallen trees like stairs. "I wonder where these go to?" Sunset Shimmer asked herself. She soon got her answer, a mountain base. "Oh," Sunset Shimmer said, "Just plain old mountains."

Sunset Shimmer explored this mountain base, but she found nothing exciting. Then she found some more trees. "This is getting weird," Sunset Shimmer said, "Now what?" So she decided to climb these trees, which took her further up into the mountains.

"Ok," Sunset Shimmer said, "Now things are starting to get unusual now. As Sunset Shimmer finally made it to the top of the mountains, she was in for a big surprise.

"What's this?" she asked. She could see a cloud city in the sky. "Is that Cloudsdale?" Sunset Shimmer asked herself, "Wow. I thought I'd never see it for myself. But I am now." So Sunset Shimmer decided to stay for a while and stare at the city. She thought it a marvelous sight. But how those trees were knocked down is still a mystery to her.
