Luz made her way through the conformatorium guided by its new warden. No longer did the prison hold innocent witches who just wished to practice magic free to their heart's content. It now held the worst scum of the boiling Isles. Murderers, thieves and a certain monarchist Luz was desperate to get answers from. She herself had helped imprison several of these feinds over the years and they were not too keen to see her. " Hey look, it's the human bitch." One replied." Come over here and face us like a real
witch. " Another said as their taunts and screams were making her uncomfortable. The warden looked at her and asked. "Do you want to leave? We don't need you here." He said, "No it's alright. Amity would do the same for me." Luz said as the warden did his best to silence their taunts.``Knock it off or lose your recreation time privileges." He said as most seem to quiet down. The warden was a nice man. He replaced Warden Wrath who had stepped down as he wanted to move on from his days in the emperor's
coven. The new warden was a much nicer man. However he knew how to handle the convicts that filled the building. They approached a room with a two way mirror inside where the monarchist was helmet was removed to reveal a young man in his mid to late 20's."We have tried to get him to talk but nothing. He is as quiet as a mouse." the warden said as Luz approached the door. "Don't worry sir, I know who can make him talk." Luz said. As she entered the room she could see the man was well restrained with magically reinforced handcuffs.``Well if it isn't the queen of the traitors." The man said, spitting towards Luz.``You are gonna tell me where Amity and the others are." Luz
said. "Why would I tell you? Your buddies have been trying to make me crack for hours. I have been trained to resist the most extreme torture methods. Nothing you can do will make me crack." The man said,"Oh it's not me who will get you to talk." Luz said as Lilith approached with a certain backpack on."You think this failure of a coven head will make me talk, you are mistaken." The man said. "It's not me that will make you talk." Lilith said as she took off her backpack, placing it down on the table." Hootsifer we have a playmate for you." Lilith said as the famed demon popped his head out of the pack. "A PLAYMATE. HI IM HOOTY LETS BE FRIENDS HOOT HOOT!" The Bug demon said as the Monarchist was stunned by the appearance of this creature…
Meanwhile in the base of the monarchist….
Amity and Skara made their way through the compound. The two were careful to avoid the patrols of guards. Amity felt as if this place was familiar. But she just couldn't put her finger on it. "Hey Amity, look." Skara whispered as the two looked over what seemed to be a nursery. But something was front of each cradle was a crystal ball playing the same message over and over. It was praising the glory of monarchy and the so-called "Queen" of the Boiling Isles while denouncing the chaos of democracy and wild magic.
'These bastards, Indoctrinating these children. Skara we have to get out and warn people." Amity said and the bard nodded. The two quickly dodged another incoming patrol when Skara noticed a puddle on the floor. "Amity, I think your water broke." Skara said as Amity looked down to see her pants wet. She thought to herself "Not now titan please not now." Skara looked at Amity and knew what was next. "Amity I know what's coming nxt but for the love of titan plz stay calm and be quiet." Skara said as Amity nodded, doing her best to take her mind off the inevitable pain of contractions. "Oh Luz, I need you plz find us. Plz keep your promise." Amity thought as she and Skara continued through the compound….
Meanwhile at the Conformatorium….
"And that's the story of how I was Born. Pretty gross right. Hoot Hoot!" Hooty said as The man could take it no longer. "Plz I beg you for titans sake take this bug demon away. I will tell you whatever you want. Just please no more, I beg of you." He said as Lilith signaled to Hooty to stop and the bug demon went silent as Lilith picked up the backpack and took it away. "Okay where Is Amity?" Luz said as the man breathing a sigh of relief that Hooty was gone opened his mouth. "They are in a hidden compound
buried in the old titan blood mine near eclipse lake." He said. Luz stepped away from the man for a second to talk to Lilith."Eclipse lake but how did they keep it under wraps without anybody finding out?" Luz asked Lilith. The elder witch paused for a moment to think about it. Then it hit her. "I do remember a while back while catching up with Eda. Raine came by and mentioned something about an infrastructure plan to repurpose that land for housing. They scraped the bill after budget constraints. Is it possible the
monarchist played a role in scraping the bill so they could build their base in its ruins?" Lilith said as Luz turned back towards the man."Ok how did you hide it? You don't just build a base in an abandoned mine without drawing attention." Luz said as the man looked at her knowing what he would get if he didn't answer."You'd be surprised how some snails can help keep away unwanted eyes. That and a massive illusion spell masking the site." He said as Luz took it all in. They had inside help. It explained a lot. Why Raines' efforts to squash this had failed so spectacularly. "I can assume it was your insiders who created the rumor about Darius." Luz said and the man nodded. "Well your
plan will soon be foiled." Luz said as she noticed the man began to laugh."You don't get it. You may have prevented any future kidnapping but my comrades have returned and alerted the queen. We will escape to fight another day with your children. We shall mold them into the perfect loyal soldiers and reclaim the boiling Isles to restore it to glory." The man said laughing. Luz looked at him and knew what to say:"Where are you gonna hide if we know where your base me or have another playdate with Hooty." Luz said. Fearing another meeting with the bug demon he began to speak."Emperor belos had a castle built on an island. A compound to fall back to if his mission was to fail.
We're gonna airlift them on airships to the island. It's hidden by a powerful concealment spell." He said,"Where is it?" Luz said, adamant to know the answer."I don't know. Its location Is only known by those in high command and I'm just a humble foot soldier I swear." He said dreading a reunion with the bug demon. Luz could see by his genuine fear he was honest with his answer and she went to Lilith to consult. "There must be countless islands where this castle could be. It could take years to find it. If we want any chance of stopping them and saving Amity we have to move on it now." Luz said eager to save her beloved wife."Luz wait, If we want any shot of saving them we must get raine to send the guard to assault their base. Going alone is suicide." Liltih said as Luz calmed down. The elder witch was right. Going in solo wouldn't save Amity or her unborn child. "Okay, let's tell raine so we can get all the help we need." Luz said as they made their way towards The prime minister's office….
At the Office of The Prime Minister….
Luz and Lilith were flying towards Raines' office when they saw a large crowd outside the government building. It was the families of those taken. Officials were outside trying to calm the crowd but it was to no avail. They were adamant. They wanted answers on where their loved ones were and what Mx. Whispers was doing it. Luz and Lilith passed by with badges given to them earlier to grant them access to the building. As Luz entered the crowd began to cheer her on."The hero of the Isles will save them." One said.
Another shouted "Give the monarchist's hell Luz." Luz was made a bit uncomfortable about the comments. Ever since defeating Belos she had a love/hate relationship with the whole hero of the isles title. While it had its perks like discounts and she had no problem taking the occasional selfie with a bystander. It was the expectations of having to constantly live up to the name was a challenge she wishes she was without. But that was for another day to resolve what matter was saving Amity and the others. As the two
reached Raines office it had practically transformed into a war room. Advisors were coming in and out giving updates on the events as soon as they got them. "Luz, Lilith, were you able to acquire the location of the monarchist base?" Rain said as they overlooked reports of monarchist and criminal activity across the boiling isles. "Yes, they are hiding out in the old titan mines by eclipse lake." Luz said. "Good, we can get guards to storm it as soon as we deal with these attacks across the isles." Raine said. "No, that isn't soon enough. He said they plan to relocate to an island compound hidden by an Illusion spell. If they escape we may never find them." Luz said. Raine was shocked.
Truly a dilemma. On one hand they had to save the kidnapped individuals, on the other hand they couldn't let these criminals and monarchists wreak havoc on the Isles after they spent so many years rebuilding it."Darius, can we scrape up a team of guards to assault their compound?" Raine asked the abomination witch. "Afraid not. We have allocated all of our forces to deal with these monarchist cells springing up across the Isles." Dairus said as Luz's heart sank."Let me go." She said as all were shocked by her answer. "Luz we know you are worried about Amity but we have no idea how many are at this base. You could be going up against an army. It would be suicide." Lilith said.
"Amity would do it for me and I can't sit here and watch her slip away." Luz said as she began to get emotional. As she got into an argument with Raine and Lilith on the matter, Hunter, who had recovered and was being brought up to speed with the situation, had an idea."Wait, we don't need to beat them. Only delay them." He said, "Wait, what are you saying Hunter?" Darius said, intrigued by his idea. "Well according to the intel you have provided they intend to airlift the children and pregnant witches to this Island via airship. Well we don't have enough people to storm it but what if a small team went in and disabled/and or destroyed the airships. That could buy you the time to
deal with the uprisings so you can later storm their base." He said, Luz smiled and screamed"Hunter you're a genius." Giving the grimwalker a big hug."Ok take it easy Luz." he said as Raine stopped to think about the idea."Ok I will allow it." The bard witch said. "Okay Hunter so you me, Eda, Lilith,Vee, Gus and Willow will break in and knock out the airships. If all goes well we can end this insurrection." Hunter said. As they made their way out Viney barged in. She had been in the crowd and had made her way into
Raines office before security could stop her. "Mx. Whispers, where is my wife? Please, I need to know." She said as security approached her. "Wait, let her be. You are a healer are you not." The prime minister asked."yes. I studied it along with beast keeping at hexside." The girl said. "Well Luz and Hunter i think you could use a healer for this operation." Raine said. Luz thought about it for a second. With Emira in the hospital Viney was the only other healer any of them knew. "You are right. Viney come along with us." Luz said as the healer joined the group. "Ok so where are we going?" Viney asked as they boarded an airship. Luz looked at her and said,"We are going to get our wives." as they headed off for Eclipse lake….
Meanwhile at the Monarchist Base….
Skara and Amity Continued to make their way through the compound. Every now and again Amity Would have contractions. She did her best to keep silent about the pain but it was only a matter of time before it would be too much. Skara had to cover Amity's mouth just to keep from alerting the soldiers. The two had walked around for about 30 minutes till they reached a hangar. This hangar had to be the largest room in the complex. Hiding behind a set of Barrels they analyzed the room. Dozens of airships were lined up one next to the other with crews doing routine a platoon of soldiers were gathered awaiting orders most likely. "The airship is our best chance out. The question is
how do we get on board and fly it out without being spotted." Skara said It was at this moment an alarm sounded. It seems they had finally caught wind of their escape."Alright Men" An officer said before one of his troops went"Cough!" the officer said, "And ladies." "Cough" another soldier went."And those who don't identify as neither you happy todd." The officer said as the one called Todd nodded. "Good now where was I. Oh right we have 2 escapee's that must be recaptured at all may not be
able to use magic but we can confirm they are in possession of an artificial magic staff and may be in possession of glyphs so they are not to be underestimated." The officer said. "So we are gonna sweep the compound until we find them so move it out." The officer said and the troops marched out of the nagar to begin sweeping their way through the compound leaving just the 3 airship technicians all alone in the hangar."Our Lucky break. We can use the staff to stun them and nab an airship before they know
what's going on." Skara said as Amity looked at her."Great idea. Thank titan this is almost over." She said, But just as the 2 were about to put their plan into motion a contraction hit worse than the last. Amity was in pain. Serious amount of it. And no amount of Skara holding her mouth shut was gonna keep her quiet. Skara looked at her friend."Amity for titans sake I know it hurts but you have to be quiet." Skara said But it was too much. "Aaaaah!" Amity screamed and fell to the ground unable to move. It was a noise so loud you could have heard it in the Human realm. The technicians Looked to see the 2 escapees. They were quick to sound the alarm and in no time the 2 were surrounded. "Take the Blight girl to see the will want to see her." The officer said."What about the other one?" A soldier said."Put her with the others." The officer repliedas Amity was separated from skara and taken to see the so called queen of the boiling isles
