Episode 29: Rising of the Princesses – Ep 2.

890.M30. Chemos.

Princess Edelgard faced thousands of families from across the Chemos Empire.

Princes, princesses, monarchs accompanied by their lesser nobility were all present in the Pnyx of Callax. A huge construction designed for public political debates in the Empire.

Edelgard sat on a stone throne. Hulder stood beside him as other Astartes surrounded the seats of the Pnyx at the edges of the construct.

Edelgard: "Thank you for coming in such large numbers to my call. I called you for an important reason. Namely, to strengthen the unity of Chemos. I have heard that conflicts prevent this unity. Thus, I have decided to bring you together so that I can consider your problems."

With a wave of her scepter, the debates are authorized.

A lord in his twenties steps onto the dais and begins to speak at the top of his lungs.

Young Noble: "Nobles of all the Empire! Listen to my voice. Our family conflicts prevent the good functioning of the Empire of Chemos! The Orks threaten us and other Xenos! Chaos can corrupt us at any moment! Our conflicts do not will leave only one door open to these enemies more terrible than the cousin who has decided to go incestuous with the cousin of the planet opposite! Let us unite and forget and go to the front of harmony!

If there is an audience to applaud, the vast majority of nobles remain silent.

Eventually, the nobles closest to the dais, namely the wealthiest and most powerful, began laughing in his face.

Young nobleman: "Hm... If you want to talk. Come on!"

The front nobles fall silent at this incitement to confront him. Finally, another nobleman, old in his 40s, stepped onto the stone dais.

Adult Noble: "Young man. You are not old enough to talk about this kind of problem. Our families do not concern you. While protection is provided by the Imperium. Fulgrim, the Phoenician is more than capable of us provide that protection."

Young Noble: "Certainly. But our efforts are important too. The Xenos can corrupt as well as Chaos. Corruption and decay awaits us at every turn. And when this one is advanced. They grab us by the throat and we suffocate. And no legion, however powerful, can save us from this corruption if it is too advanced. Thus, they will purge these evil elements that have corrupted this society."

This speech shocked the entire public, a speech in the eyes of the moral elites is unacceptable.

The Phoenician's daughter keeps her silence but can only silently approve of the young nobleman's words because they are glaringly true.

The nobles started yelling at the young man.

Nobleman 1: "Shut up!"

Noblewoman: "You are disrespectful brat!"

Nobleman 2: "You disrespect the 3rd Legion! And the entire Imperium!"

The crowd was screaming at him but Edelgard raised his hand and huge flames shot out of his hand. The whole crowd is silent.

Edelgard: "Order in the court! Insults are intolerable in debates! (Turns to the two nobles and in a calmer voice). Resume."

After a long silence. The young noble begins to speak again.

Young Noble: "You have just proved that corruption awaits you. Instead of listening and thinking. You take refuge in your dogmas which cause family conflicts and this useless hatred! The Chaos Gods feed on this conflict because they are the source of disunity! If we are noble. It is because the population trusts us! Society trusts us! It is our duty given by this trust to protect our subjects. From the most powerful to the most vile! It is what our king, Fulgrim wants! That's what the Emperor of Mankind wants! That we can be responsible for our vassals and our people! Thus the harmony that we have so desired will be present! With our actions! Our attachments! Our values ! Everything that allows us to live in prosperity! The chance is there and we must not miss it! You don't want it then I will do it without you but everyone who wants take responsibility to the great good of mankind then we will build a better Imperium."

The silence falls on the Pnyx. But many nobles raised from their seat, almost half of them. Acknowledging the words of the Young Noble. The others glared at this young noble who dares to talk to them like that. The Adult Noble look at the crowd with disdain and return to the Young Noble.

Adult Noble: "Try. Prove me with your acts you can achieve this 'responsibility.' But you will see it's impossible."

Young Noble: "Absolute Harmony is impossible. But the harmony in the best version of our society is possible. I will prove it for you."

Edelgard: "It's enough… The session is closed."

Adult Noble: "But and the rest…"

Edelgard: "This is the Pnyx for debates. Not for tensions. The session is closed."

She stands up from her throne and walks up on the dais, facing the crowd.

Edelgard: "I wanted to see the state of the unity of the Chemos Empire. This is really sad. Like the other noble said. You have to take responsibility. My father take responsibility. I have responsibility. This is now your turn."

Edelgard leaves the dais with her guards then the Pnyx and goes to her palace when the nobles leave the Pnyx.

A few hours later…

Edelgard was in her chamber, with a worried expression.

Edelgard: "What do I do? Theses conflicts are really serious."

A servant enter her chamber.

Servant: "Princess Edelgard. Your father wants you to talk to you."

Edelgard: "He is in Crusade."

Servant: "He say it's important."

The servant gives her a Hologram and Edelgard light it up. Fulgrim appears on it.

Fulgrim: "Hello my daughter."

Edelgard: "Hello father."

Fulgrim: "I want you to do something for me."

Edelgard: "What?"

Fulgrim: "In the frontier of the Xylon. There is many signals that Orks are agitated. Many of the inhabitants of the system suspect that a WAAAGH is in preparation. Unfortunately, I am in war with a human empire and I cannot intervene. The other Primarches are occupied. Edelgard. Go investigate with your army."

Edelgard: "Hm… Of course, the Xylon are in the frontier with our territory."

Fulgrim: "Another question… How is Udili? She is alright?"

Edelgard: "Yes. Don't worry father."

Fulgrim: "That's all… goodbye."

The hologram turns off.

Edelgard: "Hm… Maybe this campaign make myself heard in the Pnyx. I will send forces to investigate."

Servant: "I will go send orders."

The servant takes the hologram and leaves the chamber.

Edelgard: "I hope the best outcome."

A few weeks later… In the Xylon System.

The Kingdom of Xylon encompassed the three fertile planets of its system and went about its usual business.

But for a few weeks already, a contingent of the IIIrd Legion had been present in a space fortress at the edge of the system.

Xylovyn Fortress was built on the border of the Xylon system.

On the other side of the asteroid belt lies the Iron Jaws Empire. An Ork empire agitated for months by fighting between Klans.

This situation worries the system which has clashed several times against this empire against some of its Klans.

But this time, the Iron Jaws Klans are fighting with unprecedented violence.

The Chapter Master of the 19th Squad of the IIrd Legion was watching the asteroids with a telescope and especially the planet far behind. Ukgre'lia, whose sky was in flames and whose Ork ships were exploding between them.

As he continued to observe, he could see dots approaching the asteroids.

Dozens of dots of several colors.

Chapter Master: "It's not good..."

The more time progressed, the more the points approached.

Then the Chapter Master realized that it was a fleet of Ork ships entering the asteroid belt.

The Chapter Master left his observation spot and walked briskly to the upper room and activated the general alarm.

The Astartes going about their business immediately understood that the Orks were coming, the humans on the base had a hard time understanding what was going on.

The Astartes aimed their cannons at the Ork ships which were approaching in each moment.

Then, the lasers cannons fired and began to destroy the Ork Ships.

For hours, the base fired on the Ork fleet and these Xenos cannot reach the base.

Finally, the Ork fleet was now a group of debris. But the concern was not away.

Emperor Children: "What to do next, great brother?"

Chapter Master: "We have to call for help… These Orks could come with more number."

A few weeks later…

The IIIrd Legion was now there, with Edelgard presence. The princess was now sure: the empire of Iron Jaws is too threatening for the Empire of Chemos.

She brings all of her forces and wants to make sure that nothing remains of this empire.

Edelgard: "This will be a great time for the purge."

Hulder: "This is time to test my force."

Edelgard: "Also, after many investigations. Theses planet could be greatly beneficial. They have ores and potential to be terraformed."

She scrolls through images of the Iron Jaws' planets on her hologram, checking their natures for each one with the blessing of the Imperium's analytical machines.

Edelgard: "Really good… Needless to say, Orks have a good taste for planets. This campaign has to begin now."

In the next hours, the gigantic fleet began to enter the asteroids chain.

Edelgard: "I have a plan Hulder. I give you the command of 5 chapter and go to the South East of the Iron Jaws. Three other chapters leaded by Delles Fern will go the Northeast. The rest will be leaded by me in the true East. This planet before us will be the beginning of our campaign."

Hulder: "This tactic will work, princess?"

Edelgard: "I am trusting you Hulder."

Hulder: "Of course…"

Edelgard: "Now, let the campaign of Iron Jaws begin…"

The IIIrd directed Edelgard's fleet enters the Ork system, catching off guard the battling Orks between the followers of Gork and Mork.

The IIIrd Legion began break through enemy lines, bringing death and destruction against the Orks. After two hours, the planet space was now cut in three. Between the Gorkers, the Morkers and the Emperor's Children.

Edelgard: "Now, let's come down to the planet and purges it from the scum."

The Flaship of Edelgard descent on the planet as the princess began to prepare herself.

Edelgard: "I think I have the power to defeat them all… Like father…"

Hulder: "Yes princess… Your force is now comparable of your father."

Edelgard ignites a ball of wind in her hand.

Edelgard: "I will see the result of my training so far…"

The Flagship of the princess lands on the rocky ground of the planet, followed by many other of her forces. Astartes and Humans.

The Orks of both sides, Gorkers and Morkers began to run to these new foes, but not without preventing them from always fighting among themselves.

Edelgard: "Let's dance together, Hulder."

Hulder grins.

Hulder: "Of course, my princess."

The doors opens and the Astartes rushes outside and began to fight the Orks.

Hulder began to stretch himself and his muscles began to swell.

Hulder: "GroooooooooaaaaAAAAAAHHHHH !"

His body is surrounded by a red aura and his eyes became blood-red.

Edelgard on her sides closes her eyes and began the sides of her eyes began to glow and soon, her whole body glows in a white light. She opens her eyes and her purple iris are glowing.

Edelgard: "Let's go now !"

Hulder: "ROOOAAAAHHHH!"

The two warriors rushed outside and met the Ork army outside.

Hulder unleashed his immense strength and speed, cutting and crushing the Orks that came towards him.

Edelgard on his side, unleashed his elemental powers on all his enemies. She crushed a good dozen under throwing stones. She pierced ten others with ice spears. She burned ten more to ashes. Finally, she cut thirty of them, in a fine and precise way with her favorite element, the wind.

The IIIrd Legion began to outrun their enemies as the Gorks and Morkers began to be separated and purged.

They advance further and further. But soon, Helder and Edelgard sees two Orks taller than the rest.

Each carrying on their armor, the banner of their opposing god.

Edelgard: "Here they are...Go for the Gorker."

Hulder: "Don't worry… I will kill this fucker!"

The princess rushes to the Morker, killing with her transformed aura all the Orks and Gretchins coming to her.

Warboss Morker: "You challenge the great Urk'ioro, the great kunnin? I will take your head!"

He fires a lot of missiles that Edelgard deflect with her air power. The Ork exit release his set of missiles and engage a furious fight against the princess.

He uses everything in his environment to try to trap the princess. Like catching and launching Gretching and Snotlings to her. Sometime, he takes a weapon of distance coming to his feets and empty its loader. But the princess avoids the Gretching and deflects the bullet with her axe before counterattacking with an earthquake or other elemental traps.

Warboss Morker: "GRAAAHH! I will take your head for Mork !"

He launched himself forward and the princess avoid his sword plunging her axe to the armour, piercing inside and reaching the flesh. The Morker screams in pain.

Warboss Morker: "GROOOAAAAHHH !"

Edelgard: "Be purged."

She blasts a fire so hot that it vaporises the Ork head, his body falls to the ground.

Meanwhile… Hulder fights the Gorker Warboss.

Warboss Gorker: "No humies in the universe would reach the strength of Urkodrakrak, the arm of Mork !"

Hulder: "Take that !"

The two struggle to know who his the strongest between the Astartes and the Ork. The two catches each other fists before clasping hands.

Warboss Gorker: "Krrrrrrr…."

Hulder: "ROOOAAAHHHHH!"

But the Astartes suddenly feels something in his leg, he sees that a Squig trying to bite his feet.

Hulder: "You damn mutt! I'm fighting!"

He kicked the Squig away and began to push against the Ork.

Warboss Gorker: "Show me your strength!"

Hulder: "Very well!"

Hulder pushes further and further, the Orks released one of his hands, smashing it on the jaw of the Astartes. But the Astartes replicated with a stronger punch, breaking the jaw of the Ork.

Warboss Gorker: "GRAAAAHHH!"

Hulder began to smash the head of the Ork, again and again, breaking more and more of his face, muscles and finally bones.

The two Warbosses are dead and the two sides began to lose their unity. The IIIrd Legion began to push further and further.

In the days, who occurs, the planet was taken little by little by the Imperium when the religious war between the Gorkers and Morkers continue raging.

The next weeks, the Iron Jaws began to be purged planet by planet and soon, the former empire is purged when the first fortresses are established.

The Princess of Chemos gained this day the surname of Xenoslayer.

Kariady organise the weeding of two heirs of two different empires. When the fear of an attack from both sides are high. Kariady try her best to confirm the weeding and bring peace to the two empires.
