Chapter 67

Facing Blane

After a good rest from the festival Ronnie Anne guides Lincoln to the gym.

"Here we are," Ronnie Anne said."

They see a sign on the gym door.

"A note?" Clyde asked."

"It says the gym is being cleaned and the gym battles are located at the top of the volcano," Bobby replied shocked."

"Seriously, a volcano?! Ronnie Anne asked."

"Maybe it's to make the battle more intense," Lincoln replied." welp might as well go there."

The group head towards the volcano. when they make it, they find an elevator that leads to the top, they get on it and head to the top.

At the loud house, nighttime,

The Louds, Casagrandes, Micbrides, and Lincoln's friends gather to watch the battle as Lynn sr. and Rosa brought snacks.

"This is going to be good, if bro wins this, he'll be one more step closer to the league," Luna said."

"Yeah, and with his water types, he'll win easy," Lana said."

"True, but our brother shouldn't underestimate the gym leader," Lisa said."

"she's right, these gym leaders probably anticipated that the trainers would focus on type advantages," Carlos said."

Everyone agrees while Rita turns on the TV where they show a shocked expression where they see Lincoln and the others on top of a volcano where the stadium is and some pillars around it and Frida fainted.

"WHAT THE HECK!" Rita yelled."

"Why is Lincoln on top of a volcano?!" Lori asked."

"I don't know, but I don't like it," Maria replied."

(coming too)" our Ronita did battle there," Frida said."

"Maybe it's for trainers who got the most badges," CJ said."

"CJ's probably right," Hector said."

Back with Lincoln and friends.

"I'm glad to meet you Lincoln," Blan said."

"You must be Blane, Ronnie Anne told me about you and your Pokémon," Lincoln said." but why should we have our battle here?"

"Simple, I figured we have the battle more intense," Blane replied." Now then, let's get started, come out Ninetales."

Blane lets out a white fox Pokémon with nine tails. the others looked surprised.

"Whoa," Clyde said as he pulls out his pokedex."

"Ninetales, the fox Pokémon, a fire type and the evolved form of vulpix, it's a very smart Pokémon that likes to make plots against its enemies. if you grab one of its tails, it'll put a thousand-year curse on you!" the pokedex explained."

"You sure it's just a fire type?" Bobby asked."

"let's not think about it," Clyde replied."

"Ok, you're first. Shell Shocker let's go!" Lincoln said."

He sends out Shell Shocker.

"Alright, I'm ready!" Shell Shocker said."

Back at the loud house,

"OMG, that fox is so beautiful," Carlota said."

"Do you think, its related to Kurama?" Stella asked."

"Maybe," Carl replied." wait you mean the one from Naruto?"

"Who cares, all I know is that it's beautiful," Lola replied."

"I'm glad Shell Shocker is going to battle," Lori said."

"This will be a fast battle," Liam said."

Back at the gym battle,

"A water type huh, well then, Ninetales use flame thrower!" Blane said."

"Use hydro pump!" Lincoln said."

Ninetales fires it flame thrower while Shell Shocker fires hydro pump. the moves clash, but the flame thrower was stronger it beats hydro pump and Shell Shocker knocking him out leaving Lincoln and the others shocked.

"What just happened?" Ronnie Anne asked."

"I don't know," Bobby replied."

Back at the loud house, everyone had the same expression as Lincoln.

"Did we just see fire beat water?" Luan asked."

"I think we did," CJ replied."

"I guess Liam was right, the battle was fast," Rusty said."

"Poor Shell Shocker," Leni said."

"Lisa was right about the gym leader knowing the trainers focus on type advantages," Hector said."

Back at the gym,

Lincoln recalls Shell Shocker," you did your best buddy," he said."

"You think a type advantage would work?" Blane asked."

"Partly yes," Lincoln replied." but I have faith in my team, (pulling out a pokeball): you're up!"

Lincoln sends out his shiny Gyrados.

Back at the loud house,

"All right, Gyrados is going to battle.

"let's do this!" Luna said."

Back at the Gym,

"Use will-o-wisp!" Blane said."

Ninetales sends out nine purple flames and they surround Gyrados causing him to be burnt.

"What the?" Lincoln said."

"Will-o-wisp makes the Pokémon burnt," Blane replied." now use flame wheel!"

Ninetales spins like a wheel and turns into flames.

"Use aqua tail!" Lincoln said.

Gyrados's tail turns into an aqua like tail and slams Ninetales into the ground knocking it out. Gyrados felt the burn hurt it.

Back at the loud house,

"Yeah, that'll teach the fox for what it did to Shell Shocker," Lori said."

"Yeah, but can Gyrados hold on?" Luna asked."

"I'm sure Lincoln has an idea," Lynn sr. replied."

"Back at the gym,

"Not bad, now here's my next one. come out Rhydon," Blane said."

He sends out a Pokémon with a drill like horn.

"What the?" Ronnie Anne said as she pulls out her pokedex.

Rhydon, the drill Pokémon, a rock and ground type, and the evolved form of Rhyhorn, it lives deep underground in molten lave that reaches 3,600 degrees! its armorlike skin protects it from extreme heat," the pokedex explained."

"didn't think he would have a ground type," Ronnie Anne said."

"I can't believe that my Rhyhorn can evolve to that," Bobby said."

Back at the loud house,

"Wait, I thought he would use another fire type," Girl Jordan said."

"Welp, I guess gym leaders can improvise," Stella said."

Back at the gym,

Lincoln recalls Gyrados," you rest for now," he said as he pulls out another pokeball."

"Ok, you're up!" Lincoln said."

He sends out what looks like his Poliwhirl but now its evolved into a Poliwrath. Clyde and the others looked shocked.

"When did your Poliwhirl evolve?" Clyde asked."

"While you guys were eating and I was picking out my Pokémon from my PC, professor oak told me that Poliwhirl found a water stone in the lake last time I talked to him," Lincoln replied."

Back at the loud house,

"Whoa, Poliwhirl evolved," Lana said."

"Huh, I thought he would look better," Lola said."

Back at the Gym,

(chuckling)" won't work, Rhydon use drill horn!" Blane said."

Rhydon's horn starts spinning and runs towards Poliwrath. it made contact, but to Blane's surprise Poliwrath caught Rhydon's horn while it's still spinning.

"No way, never thought a Pokémon would catch Rhydon's horn," Blane said."

"Yup, now Poliwrath, use aqua punch!" Lincoln said."

Poliwrath uses one of his hands and punches Rhydon in the stomach with its water glowing hand. Rhydon stumbles back until Poliwrath does it again and again until it falls to the ground passed out.

"Alright nice work Poliwrath," Lincoln said as he and Poliwrath high five each other."

"Clever, never thought someone would catch Rhydon by the horn," Blane said." now then here's number three."

He sends out Rabidash.

Back at the loud house,

"Whoa, talk about awesome," Lynn said." I bet he'll do it again."

"Yeah," Rusty said."

Back at the gym,

"Use flame charge!" Blane said."

Rabidash charges at Poliwrath at full speed.

"Knowing Ribidash its speed will make it hard to catch it by the horn," Lincoln said." Poliwrath use aqua punch!"

Poliwrath runs towards Rabidash with his aqua punch. the moves clash causing damage to Rabidash, but Poliwrath gets defeated sent flying and almost fell into the lave, but Lincoln recalled him just in time.

"That was close," Lincoln said." Gyrados let's go!"

Back at the loud house,

"Man, that rapidash is tough," Carl said."

"Yeah, but at least it was still damaged," Luan said."

"I hope Lincoln knows what he's doing," Lana said."

Back at the gym,

"Use flame charge!" Blane said."

"Use aqua jet!" Lincoln said."

The two Pokémon charge at each other with flame charge and aqua jet. the moves clash causing a big explosion, when the smoke clears it shows the two Pokémon knocked out.

"Aw man, Gyrados is down," Clyde said."

"I thought it would be done fast," Ronnie Anne said."

"Yeah, even with will-o-wisp he could still fight," Bobby said."

Back at the loud house,

"Jeez, those flames that fox Pokémon gave Gyrados really was effective," Hector said."

"On the bright side, they're both down to one more Pokémon," Carlota said."

"Yeah, she's right," CJ said."

Back at the gym,

"Come out Magmar!" Blane said."

Magmar emerges from the lava.

"didn't know it was having a lava bath," Clyde said."

"Ok, Firestorm let's go!" Lincoln said."

He sends out firestorm.

"Really Firestorm?" Ronnie Anne asked."

"He probably thought of something," Bobby replied."

Back at the loud house,

"Why use firestorm?" Lynn asked."

"Maybe he'll use his flying as an advantage," Lucy replied."

Everyone agrees.

Back at the gym,

"Use fire blast!" Blane said."

Magmar fires its star like fire at firestorm. Firestorm catches the fire blast.

"Whoa, didn't think Firestorm could catch it," Clyde said."

"Firestorm toss it away and charge at Magmar," Lincoln said."

Firestorm tosses the fire blast, and it disappears. Firestorm charges at Magmar, they clash with each other with hand to hand pushing each other back.

Back at the loud house,

"Talk about awesome, Firestorm was able to the fire blast and toss it," Lynn said."

"You really helped him train," Lisa said."

Back at the gym,

Magmar gets behind firestorm and grabs on to him. Magmar then sends itself and firestorm into the lava.

"Firestorm!" Lincoln yelled."

"Can fire types handle lava?" Clyde asked."

"I'm not too sure Clyde," Bobby replied."

Back at the loud house,

Rosa was holding her lucky crystal.

"Please be ok," Lynn said."

"I hope fire types can handle lava," Lana said."

"Me too," Lisa said."

"Hey look!" CJ said."

Everyone looks at the screen.

Back at the gym,

Firestorm emerges from the lava and flies into the air with Magmar still holding on. he starts spining making Magmar dizzy.

"Firestorm use seismic toss," Lincoln said."

Firestorm stops spinning and starts flying in a circle resembling earth. he then grabs Magmar and tosses it over his shoulder and sends him falling towards the lava. Magmar made a big splash, as firestorm lands Magmar comes out of the lava and lands in front of firestorm, they stood for a moment until Magmar passes out.

"Alright Lincoln won!" Clyde cheered.

"I'm impress, and for your win I give you the volcano badge," Blane said."

He gives Lincoln the same volcano badge, he gave Ronnie Anne.

Back at the loud house,

"Alright, he won!" Rita said."

"All that's left is one more badge," Lynn sr. said."

"The last gym leader is the strongest in kanto like Surge said," Luna said."

"No worries, link will think of something," Lana said."

In the Viridian city gym, Gary left the gym with his new badge.

"Sir, the boy defeated Blane," a gym trainer said."

"Good, this will be my final fight with him," the Gym leader revealing to be Giovanni smirked."
