The air buzzed with anticipation as I prepared for the special guest set to grace the Pokémon School that day. In Headmaster Oak's office, the trio of us—Headmaster Oak, the legendary Ash Ketchum, and myself—convened for a meeting. Ash, with that trademark grin of his, had just presented a Pokémon Egg to us. A beautiful Pokémon Egg of a vibrant burgundy color, brought by Ash to us from Professor Oak's Lab. Placed carefully in its incubator, the Egg stood beside another Egg. One brought by Headmaster Oak; this one was of a pristine white color with delicate flowers imprinted on its surface.

Ash's job was supposed to be quick, simply hand the Pokémon Egg to the Pokémon School and he would be free to continue enjoying the wonders of the Alola Islands. However, the meeting took an unexpected turn when Headmaster Oak proposed a unique opportunity for Ash. Rather than just delivering the Egg, Headmaster Oak suggested that Ash take on the role of a Pokémon nurturing instructor for the students at my class. In a heartbeat, Ash accepted the challenge, his conditions being nothing more than a flexible schedule that accommodated his duties in the Orange Islands. We, in unison, welcomed the idea with open arms. I found myself sharing in the enthusiasm. The prospect of having Ash, a Pokémon Master of legendary status, guide and inspiration for my class was nothing short of a dream come true.

With a mysterious glint in his eyes, Ash flashed a smirk that hinted at a plan only he could fathom. "You know, I've just had the perfect idea for a study plan for the students," he declared, a hint of mischief playing on his lips. "Take the Pokémon Eggs with you to class, I'll join you soon. I just need to… pick up a couple of things before."

As soon as he finished saying that Ash stood up and left the office in a rush. Left in a state of mild bewilderment, Headmaster Oak and I exchanged puzzled glances. However, we did not dwell too much on Ash's strange behavior, Champions were known, after all, to have quite a few quirks. So, with a collective shrug, we brushed off Ash's peculiar behavior and parted ways.

I made my way to the classroom, the Pokémon Eggs cradled carefully in my grasp. The door swung open to reveal a room buzzing with anticipation, the eager faces of my students — Lillie, Lana, Kiawe, Sophocles, and Mallow — awaiting the day's instruction. Their chorus of cheerful "Alolas" filled the air.

I placed the Pokémon Eggs on my desk and smiled when I noticed that the focus of my students had shifted to the incubators. Seizing the moment, I launched into the day's lesson, my voice carrying the excitement that only the world of Pokémon could inspire. "Alright, class, let's dive into the fascinating world of Pokémon Eggs," I began, capturing their attention instantly.

"Pokémon Eggs," I explained, "are the miraculous products of two Pokémon, sharing a compatible Egg Group and opposite genders. Within these Eggs lies the potential for new life, containing, by default, the earliest evolutionary stage of the mother Pokémon."

I paused, allowing the magnitude of the revelation to sink in before continuing, "Interestingly, the process of Pokémon laying Eggs remains a mystery, a phenomenon unseen by human eyes. As Professor Elm once theorized, these Eggs might be better described as 'cradles' rather than traditional eggs."

The room was filled with a palpable sense of wonder, my students hanging onto every word as I elaborated, "Some Pokémon, particularly the adorable baby Pokémon, require a unique approach. They can only be found by hatching from specialized Eggs, either formed naturally or through the use of certain held items like incense. What sets baby Pokémon apart is their potential to evolve into species capable of breeding, a fascinating aspect of Pokémon biology."

As I wrapped up the lesson, I sensed the spark of curiosity ignited within my students, their minds buzzing with questions and theories. As expected, it was Lillie the first one to raise her hand in inquiry. "Professor, what about Ghost-type Pokémon? Can they breed and lay Pokémon Eggs?"

"That is a very good answer," I pointed out with a wry smile. "The process of ghost breeding is a peculiar one, not even Ghost Masters have the answer to that enigma. The closest to an answer we got, is that Ghost-type Pokémon reproduce or are created in the Distortion World before coming to our plane of existence."

Suddenly, my class got interrupted by the entrance of Ash, who was beaming and holding many Poke Balls. Was he bringing his Pokémon to teach his class? Whispers of awe and admiration swept through the students like a gentle breeze, their eyes widening at the unexpected honor of having a true Pokémon legend in our midst.

Ash, with Pikachu perched confidently on his shoulder, cast a warm smile at the enthralled students. "Alola! I'm Ash Ketchum, and this is my partner Pikachu. I'll be your teacher for a little bit, presenting a lesson on nurturing. But first, how about you all introduce yourselves and your partners?"

The classroom erupted into a frenzy of chatter. A Champion was going to be their teacher! How luckier could they get? Mallow, the spirited chef, couldn't contain her excitement and leaped to her feet. "Alola! I'm Mallow, and my dream is to make delicious food for both Pokémon and humans at Aina's Kitchen, our family restaurant. This is my best friend, Bounsweet!"

Ash chuckled at Mallow's infectious energy. "Nice to meet you, Mallow, Bounsweet. I am totally paying Aina's Kitchen a visit with Gary. Who's next?"

Kiawe, with flames dancing in his eyes, declared himself boldly, "I'm Kiawe, a Fire Specialist. My partners are Turtonator and Charizard! You may have defeated me before, but I'll win the next time we face each other!"

Ash laughed, appreciating Kiawe's spirited challenge. "Bring it on! And you?" he prompted Lana, who stood up confidently. "I'm Lana, a Water Specialist. I love the ocean and all its creatures. My partner is Popplio, and together, we'll create a bubble strong enough to carry me through."

Intrigued, Ash raised an eyebrow. "A bubble to carry you through the ocean? Interesting. Who's next?"

Lillie, with a shy smile, lifted her hand and introduced herself, "Hi, I'm Lillie. I love Pokémon of all sorts. These are my precious friends, Kō and Magearna."

Ash beamed at her Pokémon. "Kō evolved into a Sylveon? Well done, girls!" Lillie and Kō blushed under the Champion's praise. I had totally forgotten the fact that Lillie had received her Eevee from Ash.

Finally, it was Sophocles's turn. Stuttering under the attention of his hero, he managed, "H-hi, I am So-Sophocles. I'm an Electric Specialist who loves research. And this is my partner, Togedemaru!"

"Nice to meet you all!" Ash said, before adopting a more serious tone. "Now, let's dive into our first class!" The classroom buzzed with anticipation as we prepared for a lesson under the guidance of a living legend. I found myself quite curious about what Ash could have planned. He is always surprising everyone and I could not wait to see how he will surprise us now.

The air was charged with anticipation as Ash handed out a Poké Ball to each student, with the exception of Lillie. The confusion on her face prompted a reassuring smile from Ash. Returning to the front of the class, he cleared his throat, grabbing everyone's attention. "Now, Pokémon come in all kinds and types. To evaluate you all fairly, I needed to level the playing fields. That's why I gave each of you a Poké Ball. Can you release the Pokémon within it?"

Four red beams illuminated the room, and my eyes widened in realization. On each student's desk was an Eevee, and Lana's Eevee had a peculiar fringe. Ash continued, "Eevee is one of the most versatile Pokémon, known as the Evolution Pokémon for their great adaptability. Considering your different backgrounds and specializations, I couldn't think of a better Pokémon to put your nurturing abilities to the test. In front of you is an Eevee, each with a desired evolutionary path. Lana's wants to become a Vaporeon, Kiawe's a Flareon, Sophocles's a Jolteon, and Mallow's a Leafeon. Your project as a class for the year will be to take good care of your Eevees, and you'll be tested on their nurturing by the end of the school year."

Excitement buzzed through the class, and I found myself just as thrilled. This hands-on and engaging teaching approach was classic Ash Ketchum. Ash then turned to Lillie, acknowledging her nervousness. "Since you already have Kō, handing you an Eevee would be like cheating, as you're already familiar with the Pokémon. Considering that, Headmaster Oak has given you the option to choose. He'll be taking one Pokémon Egg, and you get to choose which one you want to keep, and which one goes to the headmaster." Lillie's eyes widened at the opportunity, and she walked towards the front with her Pokémon. All three chose the white Pokémon egg.

"That's all for this first class! Take good care of your Pokémon, and I'll see you again for the next one!" Ash exclaimed, before muttering to himself so softly that only I could hear him, "Maybe in the next lesson, I'll have more time and be more prepared."
