Chapter 9 : A Wife's Contemplation
The big Tree near The Hokage's Office. 6 PM.
The men were meeting up at night at the big tree near the Hokage's office. The place they usually met up to discuss something just the two of them.
Sasuke was awfully quiet that time, his dark eyes were looking at the sun set and Naruto couldn't stop worrying over the one armed man who was sitting on the branch.
"What do you want to talk about?" Naruto asked the other man. Naruto was worried on what would come next. Did he find out about Sakura and the Koukan man? He looked awfully gloomy that day.
"Does that General Son Hak have a wife?" Sasuke's question somehow made Naruto really uneasy. He wasn't ready to talk about the whole Sakura-Hak affair to Sasuke.
"Not that i know of," Naruto said. Sasuke only replied with an "Oh". All of Sasuke's worst fear came true. It was Sakura who wanted to divorce him.
Sasuke punched the tree, causing a hole in the tree and significant movement from the tree that almost caused Naruto to fall from the tree. Knowing the truth made him furious. He wanted to kill Hak so badly, he didn't just want him to die, he wanted him to be tortured, to be chopped into pieces before he's dead.
For Naruto, that was it. He knew the day would come for Sasuke to find out. Naruto had eyes on Sakura and he knew that she never left Hak. He was worried of his friend's feelings but moreover he was worried of what action he would take afterwards. He was worried that Sasuke might plan to kill Son Hak. It will create tension between Kouka and Konoha.
"What are you going to do?" Naruto asked the man. "I will separate them," there was heaviness in Sasuke's tone. Naruto could feel bloodlust radiating from the man beside him. His brows furrowed and his fist was clenching tightly. His eye turned red. "I will kill that fucking Koukan bastard," he said. "I should have killed him immediately," Sasuke muttered.
Naruto expected that. The blond immediately reacted "No no no no! You can't kill him!" Naruto said. He knew that Hak would certainly be defeated by Sasuke, or killed by him. In his head, he could already imagine Sasuke wouldn't hesitate beheading Hak. "He is the queen's favorite! We can let war happen between Kouka and Konoha!" Naruto explained. "I want him to be separated forever from my wife," Sasuke growled, Naruto could still feel bloodlust from the Uchiha.
"I have access to the Queen, maybe if we talk to her ... maybe she can separate them," Naruto was stuttering, the whole thing was precedented but Sasuke still scared him. He never knew Sasuke being so angry for a long long time.
"Do you think the queen will side with us or will she side with her favorite general?" Sasuke was cynical, he scoffed at Naruto's idea. "Look, if we can offer her something she can't refuse, she will do whatever it takes to separate Sakura and Hak," Naruto said. Sasuke immediately thought of something very precious from the land of fire. Something that certainly would please the queen.
"Teme, does Kouka have a King?" Sasuke asked Naruto the question. "Yes, they do ... what are you insinuating?" Naruto looked bewildered. "It's been months since those Koukans are here, but why we haven't seen the King visiting yet?" Sasuke gazed at Naruto with his piercing gaze. "It's not something i can ask to the Queen," Naruto answered. "Don't you think something might have happened to the King that caused him not being able to visit Konoha?" Sasuke asked Naruto. "Perhaps," Naruto muttered.
Hak's Hotel Room. 5 AM.
It was five in the morning in the hotel room. Sakura didn't come home, she said that it was night shift. She didn't have night shift, she was staying inside Son Hak's hotel room, having a hot sex with him until the man passed out, sleeping like a baby beside her, curling in a fetal position.
She woke up earlier, with her body was still sore from the previous making love adventure they had that involved situations she had never tried before with her husband and ... some jutsu. She then gazed at the handsome man beside her, who was still sleeping like a baby. She was smiling when she saw his face.
She was reminded of the other handsome man she had in her life, Sasuke Uchiha. The one she married. She compared Hak with Sasuke. Hak was way above Sasuke in term of being a great lover. Hak almost never said "No" to her advances. And most of their conduct came from Hak's very own initiative. He tried hard to seduce her too. She was always reminded of Sasuke's cold shoulder whenever she asked him to sleep with her and he was not in mood for it. "I'm tired," he said, dismissing her and even when she tried hard to seduce her with sexy lingerie or anything else, he would just literally push her body away, as if he was a King and she was just some whore he could treat the way he wanted to, and how he didn't even have to consider her feelings. Like she was just a disposable prostitute.
She gazed at Hak, and she realized how lucky she was to actually manage to find such romance at later age. He was everything she had ever wanted, tall, handsome, flirty, caring, gifty, and very very good in bed. A man who's as obsessed as she was to each other. A man who reminded her of Sasuke in their early days, before Sarada was born. But, even more better than him.
"Sakura, go back to bed, the sun hasn't even shone yet," Hak muttered, sleepily, with his eyes closed. He then pulled the woman's body closer again to his.
"I want to divorce Sasuke," Sakura said. She was very hesitant at first, she had to throw a seventeen years of marriage away and she had to leave Konoha but she was so sure about it when she said that. She had her divorce form already but she hadn't showed Hak. "What?" Her words suddenly woke him up. "So, does that mean that you will marry me?" Hak asked. "Yes, but let me divorce him first," Sakura answered. Hak was delighted, he hugged the woman even tighter.
Sakura knew that marrying Hak was perhaps leaving Konoha and leaving her family behind but with Sarada being a seventeen years old kunoichi already, she wouldn't feel that much burden to leave her. But, then she would need to ask Hak to help her open a clinic or a hospital in Kouka. She couldn't just leave her job.
But, one thing that would be her last and biggest burden was her assets. Sasuke and Sakura didn't have prenuptial which meant that if they were about to divorce they would have to split everything in half and if the court found out that Sakura had an extramarital affair during the marriage, Sasuke would certainly get more than half. Which Sakura considered unfair since Sakura helped him a lot financially in acquiring their assets. His job was full of uncertainty and sometimes it would pay him much and sometimes it just didn't pay him at all.
"We have to keep our affair a secret until the divorce is final," Sakura said to Hak. The man sat up on the bed with his lower body covered with a blanket. His face looked anxious out of sudden.
"I ... i think your daughter knows," Hak said. "Eh ...," Hak saw a change of expression in Sakura's face. "WHAT?!" She was yelling at him, she was so perplexed, she didn't know what to say. All of her plans were just destroyed, they went to the drain.
"She came to me during training, she told me she saw us at the cinema and wanted me to break up with you," Hak explained.
"When? Why didn't you tell me?" Sakura raised her voice, she was shocked. "Quite some time ago ... i told her that she didn't understand anything about this world," Hak said. "Oh My God! Hak! Why didn't you tell me sooner?!" She immediately stood out of the bed and threw a pillow to Hak. She immediately went into the bathroom to prepare herself. Hak who had just put on his boxer went inside the bathroom. She was rushingly brushing her teeth.
"She will know sooner or later," Hak defended himself. "This will destroy all of my divorce plan!" Sakura spat the toothpaste. "Wait, i don't get it," Hak said. "Of course you don't get it! You've never been married! You've never been married with someone who didn't really help much in acquiring the assets you have but might be able to take most of your assets because you're cheating on him!" She was hysterical at Hak.
"Now every time you know something suspicious, you should tell me!" Sakura ordered him. "Look, if it's about money, you know as a Wind Tribe General, i have no problem in giving you anything you want," Hak grabbed the medical ninja's arm. "Hak, i earned those assets by myself! He should never have them!" Sakura pulled her arm furiously.
"You can't go back home now, your shifts ends at 8 AM remember?" Hak tried to stop the woman from putting on her scrubs back.
"I can't just leave Konoha with empty hand!" Sakura who was still in her satin night dress sat on the sofa. Her fingers were rummaging through her own hair. "Sssh ... i promise to take care of you in Kouka, you'll be Lady of Wind Tribe and you'll still be able to practice medical jutsu there," Hak hugged Sakura from beside. The woman rested her head on his chest. "We'll find a way so your assets will stay with you, okay?" Hak said while rubbing her shoulder.
But, Sakura knew, she wouldn't feel satisfied is Sasuke took most of her assets.
Lunch at Burger Joint 1 PM
It was rare for Sakura to ask her daughter to accompany her for a lunch at a fast food restaurant. Both of them ordered burger sets with soda drink and french fries.
It was all easy chit chat until suddenly Sakura spoke of her affair with Hak. "I love your father and only your father, whatever rumor you heard from people, you have nothing to worry about," Sakura said. The young woman in front of her was perplexed when she heard her mother brought up the topic.
Her father had asked her to stay quiet, not to say anything or even to play dumb. He had his own plan. But, apparently Hak told Sakura about it.
"Mama ... what do you mean?" Sarada pretended that she knew nothing. Just like what Sasuke asked her to. "Oh, nevermind," Sakura said.
Her daughter wasn't a liar either. But, at that point, she didn't know why would Hak lie to her. It didn't make sense to her.
"I know the rumour about you being unfaithful to Papa," Sarada took a fries and ate it. She was so calm while Sakura's mouth was slightly opened, she wanted to hear what her daughter would say.
"I don't believe it," Sarada said. "All these years, you are faithful to Papa, even when Papa was traveling far away and you're alone here, why would you cheat on him now that he came home more often than before?" Sarada added.
Sakura was relieved. She smiled, her daughter truly didn't know about it.
"And you always look glowing whenever Papa's home and you have glowing skin now," Sarada smiled as if nothing happened.
Sakura bought Sarada's lies and then she kept on thinking whether it's Hak who was lying to her or not. But, why would he lie? Why would he lie that Sarada knew? Was it to make her to be more decisive? But he told her after she told him that she was going to divorce Sasuke, did Hak really think that with her daughter being exposed to the truth she would fasten the divorce process?
6065. Hak's Hotel Room. 8 PM.
It was another night at Hak's hotel room. Sakura lied to her child and her husband once more about her night shift. She was leaning on the bed, sitting with pillow on her back with her mini sleeping dress in white with form of a babydoll. She had Hak in front of her, wearing nothing but blue boxer, kissing her clavicles while his big hands grabbing her shoulder. She didn't seem to respond to Hak's kisses, she just kept on looking at the TV in front of her while biting her nails.
"Is there anything bothering you?" Hak stopped kissing her, his blue icy orbs gazing at Sakura's green eyes. She didn't know whether to tell Hak or not. She didn't know who lied there. Was it Sarada? Was it Hak? She loved both of them. But, she knew she couldn't confront Hak, she was afraid that he would be angry because she accused him of lying. While she couldn't just ask Sarada even more, perhaps she really didn't know. Perhaps if Sakura didn't talk about it, Sarada wouldn't even bother about the whole rumor.
Sakura and Hak played it safe then. No more dates outside the hotel. Only fun times inside the hotel room. But, that moment, Hak knew that there was something odd about Sakura.
Usually, when he kissed her, she would respond but she didn't. So, he stopped. "Is there something wrong?" The man asked.
Her pupils dilated when Hak was looking at her with worry in his eyes. He wasn't angry, he was worried of her. "Hak ...," Sakura was stuttering. Hak kept on gazing at her. "Why ... did you lie to me about Sarada?" Sakura gasped. Hak blinked. He didn't expect that coming from Sakura's mouth. "I don't lie to you, Sakura," Hak defended himself. "Why did you accuse me of lying?" He added. "Because ... Sarada doesn't seem to know anything about our affair except for the rumor!" Sakura snapped, she pulled her wrist away from Hak's hand. "Why would i lie to you?" Hak rebuked, he looked frustrated, as he pushed his hair away from his face. "Your daughter could be the one lying to you," Hak still defended himself. "My daughter is not a liar, Hak!" Sakura defended her daughter as she was raising her voice. "I am certain that i talked to her as she confronted me about our affair ...," Hak reassured Sakura. "It's either you're lying to me or you have some goddamn hallucination about it!" Sakura bellowed, her finger was pointing at Hak's face. "Maybe you said it because you don't want to wait anymore! You don't want to give me time to think about my family!" Sakura added. Hak stood up from the bed, he was looking at her with his piercing blue eyes, it was anger in his eyes. "Do you actually want to be with me or do you still hope that your husband would change while you're messing around with me?" Hak snapped. "Did you really mean it when you said you're going to divorce your husband? Or is it just your petty excuse so you can still use me as your sex friend or whatever you call this relationship is?" Hak added, he was looking at Sakura with disappointment in his eyes. "Hak ...," Sakura was trying to reach him but Hak moved farther. "Don't," he said. "I'm going to sleep at the sofa, you can sleep in the bed," Hak took one of the pillows and then moved to the sofa. She saw him moving to the sofa.
Sakura felt so guilty. It was the first time they ever fought.
Uchiha Residence. 8:30 AM.
The next morning, Sakura came home to her own house, the Uchiha residence. She saw Sasuke making a breakfast for her.
"Welcome home, Sakura," Sasuke smiled at her. "You look awfully tired," He commented. The man was wearing a grey cotton t-shirt and matching pants. He made an avocado toast for his wife.
She was tired. She had a fight with her lover. She couldn't sleep. She was fueled with guilt. She hurt Hak's feeling by saying something she shouldn't have said. She kept on thinking on how much she loved him and how much she didn't want to lose Hak. She hadn't talked to Hak after the fight at all.
Sakura sat on the chair at the dining table and ate the toast. "What's going on in the hospital?" Sasuke asked. "Just the usual but with higher quantity," Sakura ate her toast. "You should sleep, you look tired," Sasuke said to his wife as he went back to the kitchen to pour a glass of milk. Sasuke knew exactly what Sakura's exhaustion and her bad mood meant.
She had a fight with that fucking Koukan bastard.
Sasuke smiled as he gave the glass of milk to his wife. It was genuine smile.
Author's Note :
It's obvious that Sasuke and Sarada have their own agenda to separate Sakura and Hak and starting from this chapter, you will see more of their plans and whether they will be successful or not and perhaps i'll write Hak's backstory too.
