Katara is going to strangle someone.
She hasn't decided on who it will be yet, or even if it won't be all three idiots – but when she does, running will be useless. She can't believe Sokka would go along with these scams when he got so pissed at her merely a week ago for attracting too much attention – and she was helping people, not stealing for her own benefit ! What is wrong with them !?
She isn't surprised by Jet's involvement, but that doesn't mean she isn't disappointed either. For someone trying to be better, he sure has a weird way to go about it !
And Toph – Katara can't even find words. She keeps acting like a spoiled child, keeps doing whatever pops into her mind like nothing but her own petty wants matter ! Oh, poor her, her parents didn't let her do stuff – so what ? That's not an excuse for being reckless ! If she keeps this up, she will put herself in danger, and she will drag all of them with her !
It's stupid and childish and it has to stop.
And she – she talks back, like she has any business contradicting Katara !
She says Katara has no right to be talking about childishness when she herself is a child – we're all children, you included – and, unless she's planning on cueing Toph, she really shouldn't try to act like she is anyone's boss. Like she is anyone's mom.
And – first of all, Katara does not think she is Toph's mom, thank the Spirits, and secondly that has nothing to do with anything ! These scams are dangerous for everyone, not just Toph !
They robbed a carriage, for La's sake ! That's not even a scam anymore, that's a crime ! It doesn't matter that whoever it was gave half the money willingly Jet, so shut up.
Oh Spirits, the robbery was his idea, of course it was his idea – oh, sorry, he just expanded on Sokka's plan ? Yeah, such a huge difference, definitely something Katara cares about.
Where does Toph think she's going !? They're not done talking ! She can't be around Katara ? They're stuck together ! All of them ! Stuck, with only each other to rely on ! Even Jet, even Zuko, even Toph, no matter how much they want to pretend otherwise !
It's about time they acted like it, too.
Katara is tired and angry and there's nothing she wants more right now than a Tribe, than the group they were before, because rocky as it was, they had each other's backs. And maybe they all did stupid things at times, but they didn't pretend like that was fine.
She looks at them now and she doesn't see a Tribe. She barely even sees a group. Zuko is brooding on his own, Toph is doing whatever she wants, Jet isn't much better. There are six and a half of them, and only three seem aware of what they are. Of what they should be.
And even then, the only reason she believes in Sokka after this is because he is her brother and she knows he will come around and keep on watching over her, over all of them, the way he always does.
Katara knows hope, knows faith, knows belief, in the world and in people – but honestly ?
Right now, it's getting difficult to keep it up.
