Chapter 14

Mourning

Garp had come back to the island a few days later. He wanted to start on their training right away but after hearing about Sabo, he decided to fix them some dinner over a campfire not far from the bandits. After taking some time to prosses everything he said. "So the squirts gone huh?"

Luffy quickly grew mad. "His name's Sabo not squirt!" he yelled.

"Yea it wouldn't hurt for you to call him by his name," Ace agreed crossly. Harry silently nodded in agreement. He hasn't said much since he woke back up. After a few more minutes of silent eating, Ace spoke back up. "I still don't understand why those dragons killed Sabo. Dogra said all he did was get in front of him yet they still fired first."

"That's no surprise," Garp sighed in despair. "That's just the type of people the Celestial Dragons are."

Luffy then jumps in front of Garp. "Why don't you arrest them?" he asked angrily. "The guys who killed him. You can do that right?"

"Would if I could but unfortunately this time I can't," Garp said as he finished a bottle of sake.

Luffy started to cry again. "But you said that Marines uphold honor and justice and arrest bad people. They killed Sabo which makes them bad so arrest them."

Once again Garp just shook his head causing Ace to scoff. "I always knew marines were useless. All that talk of honor and crap yet you look the other way when it comes down to it. Those bastards kept firing at Sabo until there was nothing left. They couldn't even find a body."

Harry couldn't take it anymore and stands up to the surprise of the others. "And you expect us to follow your footsteps?" he asked dangerously quiet. "You expect us to follow the orders of the people who murdered our brother!" with every word his voice grew. As did the fire.

Before it grew to out of control Luffy wrapped Harry in a hug. "Harry please calm down," he asked him. The fire died down, but Harry was still shaking in rage. Shrugging his twin off he stormed away from everyone. Luffy made to follow but Ace stop him.

"Just leave him be," Ace said. "Harry hasn't been left alone since he woke up. We should give him his space." Luffy agreed but he still looked worryingly in the direction Harry took off in.

Harry ran through the forest. Tears running down his face as he cursed everything in existence. Stupid nobles! Stupid Dragons! Stupid Gramps! He eventually stops and sat down. Hugging his knees to his chest he continued to cry. He was so caught up in his sorrow he didn't notice Garp coming up to him. "Ah, there you are. I was hoping you haven't gone off too far," he said sitting down beside the young wizard. "Look Harry I don't like this any more than you do. If I had my way those bastards would be heading to the gallows for what they did."

"Then why don't you!?" Harry demanded standing up to glare at his grandfather. Garp just sighed and ruffled Harry's hair. "Because the nobles can be rather ruthless and I just... I don't want to see anything worse happening to you or your brothers. I also don't want to leave you three all alone in this world either," he admitted. "Sometimes power doesn't come from just strength or magic. It can come in other forms too like money and connections. And the Celestial Dragons have a lot of those."

Harry finally cooled off and sat back down on the grass. He never really thought about that. And even though he wouldn't admit it out loud, Harry didn't know what he would do if he lost his grandfather on top of Sabo. "Alright fine. Just don't expect us to join you after all this," Harry muttered. Of course, Garp just laughed at that.

"Well then don't expect me to give up on you two without a fight. We should head back to the cabin. Your brothers are already in bed and you should be too."

Harry simply nodded and walked back with Garp in silence.

WOW did the plot bunnies take forever to help me with this one? Well, I suppose this stupid virus crap has one good thing going for it. Who knows maybe I'll have the next chapter out sooner than four months.
