Chapter 17 Setting Sail
Today was finally the day.
Ace left the twins three years ago. Everyone around him smiled, waving and even shed a few tears. Course the tears were denied by Dadan, who was still wiping them from her cheeks as she lied.
Harry and Luffy resumed their training with help from Minerva and Garp. After all that hard work, their time arrived. Their seventeenth birthday. It was time for them to go on their own journey. But not before passing one more test.
"Alarte Ascendare." Harry cast the spell sending Minerva up into the air.
When she started her descent, she shouted. "Petrificus Totalus."
Harry was able to dodge the spell as Minerva cast some wind magic to cushion her fall.
With her guard down, Harry then cast "Stupify" Stunning Minerva on the spot. As she fell over, Luna (who was judging) raised her arm on Harry's side, declaring him the winner.
Harry then ran over to his teacher and cast Rennervate to revive her.
As she caught her breath and regained her footing, she said, "Well done, my boy."
Harry smiled brightly at the praise.
"Will you and Luffy be setting off now?" Luna asked after.
The three magic users were walking towards a giant rock. Luffy was wrapping up his training there.
"That depends on whether or not Luffy can break this rock," Harry replied.
Luffy took his stance. He reeled his arm back before throwing it forward. Once he did, it started it to stretch farther than Harry had seen yet. "Gum-Gum Pistol!"
SMASH!
The rock was shattered into pieces. The two witches and the wizard cheered for the rubber-man's success.
Luffy turned to them and smiled. He rushed over to Harry, buzzing with excitement. "You ready?" He asked. Harry nodded.
The group made their way back to the bandit's house.
Harry had packed a couple of bags for him and Luffy. They didn't contain much. Some food, a couple of spell and potion books for Harry, spare clothes, and the like. Harry also had an official logbook for their future crew. Writing all those letters to Sabo had inspired him to become the ship's chronicler. He wanted to record all their adventures so that he can share it with those he cares about.
As they left, Luffy turned back to the bandits to ask, "Are you guys gonna come down and see us off?"
"Of course not!" Dadan yelled. "Makino and the mayor may know us, but the rest of the village don't. We don't need to scare them."
Luffy frowned in disappointment. Harry could understand. He guided his brother towards the door. "Well then, everyone take care," Harry said.
"Yeah, thanks for everything," Luffy added. Then he remembered something. "Oh yeah, I said we hate mountain bandits..."
"Shut up, you little brats!" Dadan interrupted.
Harry finished as though she didn't say anything. "But we like you guys."
That made all the bandits shed tears as they bid their farewells.
The twins walked down to Windmill Village with Minerva and Luna joining them. Everyone was out waiting to see them off. They made their way to the docks, and Luffy found an old rowboat that he wants to use to start their journey. It didn't look very sturdy, and Harry tried to convince Luffy to use a sailboat one of the fishermen offered, but Luffy pulled rank as captain, so the rowboat it was.
Luffy jumped onboard and raised his fists in the air. "SABO! Look at us! We're setting out to sea too!"
Harry untied the rope connecting the boat to the docks and, anticipating what comes next, offered to row first. He then joined Luffy in the shouting. "Look out, Ace! We're catching up to you!"
"Sabo was first, and Ace was second," Luffy said out loud.
"Now it's our turn," Harry told him.
Minerva chuckled at their antics. She was so excited to see what Harry Potter would bring to this world with a brother by his side. The village speculated on who they were talking about.
Harry untied the last of the ropes, grabbing the oars. He had decided to row first as he knew they couldn't leave port without running into a certain something first.
Luffy had an old score to settle.
"Alright, everyone, we're off." They said as Harry started to row.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the bandits off in the distance, hidden in the tree line. He smiled to himself until the water started to shake. Rising from the depths was the Sea King the two had encountered so many years ago. Harry wasn't scared. Luffy gave the monster a smirk.
"There you are, Lord of the Coast," Luffy said as he stood on the boat. "I've been waiting for you. You see, there's a new technique I've been dying to use on you. I've been working ten whole years on this." He took a step back, geared up his arm, and threw it out to the creature. "GUM GUM...PISTOL!"
Just like with the rock earlier, Luffy's fist made contact.
The Sea King was down before he knew what hit him.
"That was for Shanks' arm, you big dumb fish." He told the unconscious serpent as Harry laughed at his twin's antics.
"So, Luffy, you ready for this?" Harry asked him.
Luffy turned to him, giving his brother an eager nod. Luffy faced the sea once more. "Look out world, here we come!" He shouted as he threw his fists up in the air. "I'M GONNA BECOME THE KING OF THE PIRATES!"
"LET'S DO IT!" Harry shouted right alongside him.
