Authors Note- And look who is back with YET ANOTHER Transformers fanfic. (Like I don't have so many already.) And another one that takes placed in Transformers Armada. As you can gather by now I don't own Transformers that belongs to Hasbro. I only own my OC Riley and the plot. Now that we got THAT out of the way here is the first chapter to Rude Awakenings.
Chapter One: A Walk Through The Woods
It was a warm summer morning. And it promised to turn into a hot summer day as the day went on. So, it was only normal for Riley Jones, age fifteen, to get her walk through the woods behind her house out now before it got too hot. She couldn't stand the heat, hell she couldn't stand summer most of the time. It got way too hot around here, she thought as she ran a hand through her spiky brown hair.
Hazel eyes darting to the right as a squirrel darted up the trunk of a tree, and disappeared into the leaves. To be honest, Riley wasn't normally a out doorsy person. Sure, she liked being outside sometimes but otherwise she was usually found in her room. In front of her game console, or with her nose in a manga or a notebook if she was feeling inspired. But lately none of those seemed to interest her. And she had just beat Resident Evil for the six hundredth time last night while her folks looked on.
Her father offering her praise whenever she took down one of the games various bosses. While her mother would cover her eyes during the scarier bits, or whenever Riley died to the zombies. And now she was done and she had nothing to do. She had played, read, wrote, and slept and now she was bored. And to think that summer vacation was supposed to be fun. And maybe it would be for her if Riley had any friends. A frown forming on her freckled face as her mind went down this train of thought. While she spent most of her time at home the rest of the kids in her class were off doing things with her friends and family. But for Riley, as much as she enjoyed spending time with her folks it tended to get a little...lonely?
And she knew this loneliness could be remedied by trying to make friends. Buuuut that was surprisingly hard for poor Riley. Talking to people was never something she was especially good at. And finding things in common with people? Well, despite her best efforts she couldn't make friends. Well, she tried to reach out to a group of five friends but they always seemed off in their own little world. She had once over heard them whisper something about something called Minicons?
Riley had been curious, was that some show or something? While she had been curious she couldn't find the nerve to ask for fear of being told to mind her own business. So, she had let it go. So, now here she was roaming through the woods listening to the wind rustling through the leaves. At least walking through the woods like this was peaceful. However, she was soon jerked from her thoughts as she picked up the sound of voices in the distance. Looking up Riley looked around, odd she couldn't remember a time when there had been other people in the woods with her before.
She hoped they weren't the type to mean her harm if she stumbled across them. Or maybe they were like her, and just out for a walk? Giving her head a shake Riley continued on going back to her thoughts once more. An hour seemed to pass as Riley continued to walk, when she came to an impressive redwood. Or what had once been a red wood. As the top of the tree was gone, and that was not all, Riley noted as she looked around. Noting that several of the trees in the area were cut in half. And there was no way it had been done by illegal cutters either.
The places the trees had been cut was too high up, something did this, but what? Riley didn't have an answer. However, as she continued to ponder this there was a loud crash from behind her, slowly she turned around. And saw something she never thought she'd see. Standing before her was a robot, and the robot was staring right back at her!
This cannot be real! Riley thought, eyes wide as said robot let out a low growl, as it continued to star down at her. Riley was speechless as she stared, dumb founded at it. Taking in the red paint job with bits of white and black here and there. Her eyes then went to the wings jutting out of Mr. Robots back along with the cockpit looking thing on his chest. I must be dreaming. She thought, as she took a step back.
It has to be a dream. Too many late nights playing video games with my cousin. And now they're influencing my dreams. Watch I'll wake up and find myself on my bedroom floor tangled up in my bedsheets. However as she thought this the robot, with his optics trained on her took a step towards her. When-
"Hey, Starscream! Megatron wants to know if you managed to find that Minicon yet."
The red robot turned to look at the speaker, as yet another robot appeared. Green optics lit up as the newcomer looked down at her. A wide grin splitting his orange face plate.
"Oh, what do we have here?" The newcomer cackled. "Found a little human roaming the woods all by their lonesome." The other robot laughed again, and moved to crouch down before her. Riley took a few steps back as it, or he did so. "Don't you know it's dangerous to run around here alone? This forest is scary lots of scary creatures ready to gobble up a cute little human like you."
The crazed grin was gone, and in its place a cruel look. Slowly it right arm, aiming the blaster attached to it at Riley! Okay, if Riley had any thoughts that they might be good guys she was so wrong, as she felt her blood run cold.
"Whoa, whoa, easy there Mr, uh..." she trailed off, meeting the second robots crazed gaze.
"Cyclonus, we don't have times for games." The one called Starscream spoke. "We have to find that Minicon. Megatron is waiting for us." As Starscream said this, he turned his back to the one called Cyclonus.
Cyclonus groaned as he lowered his arm and rolled his optics. "Oh, all right, but I'm taking this human with me. Who knows she might be useful." As he said this Cyclonus reached down for Riley.
"Wh-what?" Riley managed to choke out, eyes wide as she staggered backwards, turning around she made to run. However, Cyclonus was far quicker than she. And before the girl could even run Cyclonus had picked her up.
"Now come along now," Cyclonus held Riley in front of his face plate, that same crazed smile etched on his face plate. "I've always wanted a pet."
No, this can't be happening! Riley thought, as she struggled against the cold, metal fingers wrapped around her fragile body. Oh, please, please, please, be a dream. She prayed, as she sat trembling in Cyclonus' hand, as he turned to follow Starscream deeper into the woods. However, Riley thought, this wasn't a dream.
Authors Notes- And here is the first chapter. Sorry...it's not that great. But I assure you it will get better as the story goes on. And this is The Exhausted Writer signing off have a good day!
