CH. 8

Two days later after having a little falling out with his bunny wife, Nick depressingly sighed in his car and was currently driving his way to work. That night still bothered Nick's mind as he did not mean to make such a big of a fuss with Judy. He was just tired. Tired of not helping the unfortunate and those who are in need. After that night with being caught in his illegal superhero activity, Nick had called up Finnick and saw how his wife reacted to what they did since he knows Judy very well.

Judy will be such a snitch for the sake of honesty and being a girl scout. Yes, Finnick responded to Nick, saying that once he got back home he was introduced to a pissed off Elsa. He told Nick that he did not escape in time when Elsa froze his whole body in pure ice and let him stay there until the morning. Luckily with their oldest son and young daughter who inherited his and Elsa's, but mostly Elsa's full ice powers were able to unfroze him. From there he told Nick that he had one heck of a fuss from his wife. It took a lot of foot rubs and cooking family dinners to make Elsa loosen up and to let him get some sweet sex in bed.

"I seriously do not want to work today or deal with Gary." said Nick, making a turn on a blinking yellow arrow.

Nick drove down through a curved around bridge that will easily lead him straight to reach his job. His emotions are his weakness, if he is honest with himself. For being a hero of incredible sensitive strength, he has an easy short emotional fuse. It does not take much for his emotional atomic bomb to go off. It only takes a deep sensitive moment to ignite Nick. And boy, how Nick is not ready to experience the painful moment.

"Another day of working at the bank. Damn." said Nick, sighing when parking his car.

After exiting his car and walking his way to the building with his briefcase in his hand, Nick entered the building and clocked in. Upon getting into the elevator and pressing his floor to where his floor office is located. Time is feeling like an eternity to Nick when being in his office typing away boredly on the computer. Not caring about what is going on around him as he is indeed depressed in all kinds of ways. Nick sighs to himself while looking at his computer screen reading the details of what one of his clients have sent him by work Gmail. Suddenly his office phone beeped and he looked at the phone, not wanting to answer it. But unfortunately he has to or else.

"Yes?." Nick spoke with zero enthusiasm.

"Gary wants to have a one on one private meeting with you." spoke a female voice.

"Is it mandatory?." asked Nick, already knowing the answer for it.

"Of course, Mr. Wild." the female voice said before hanging up.

"Great." Nick spoke with sarcasm before hanging his phone back on the hook.

Nick rose from his desk and slowly exited out of his open office with a depressed sigh. While heading slowly to Gary's office, the same french female fox, who was spying upon Nick for some time, looked around wearing black shades before entering Nick's office. In just seconds she left his office and exited the whole entire floor without anyone even noticing or even paying her any attention. Inside Gary's office with the door closed and with the blinds of the windows that had the view of outside offices closed, Gary looked over his desk and checked to see it was neat and organized.

Nick, who is in one of his boss's guest seats, looked bored and truly did not want to be in his situation. Gary dusted a few dust with his mini hand boom brush and put it up in his left drawer, before checking to see if his papers were properly stacked neat. Then he grabbed one of his blue pens and started signing them while putting those signed papers in the outbin.

"Nick." Gary glanced up at the fox with a plain professional facial expression. "You are not exactly the ideal model employee that this bank is expecting."

Nick depressingly sighed. "You don't say?."

"Why yes, I do." Gary put the fifth paper into the outbin. "With so many points on your record within the loan office, the higher ups have informed me that I need to give you a one on one chat. They say it might help with shaping your work ethic and not have you continue giving away our money to those who have bad credit or not paying their loans in time."

"But are we supposed to help those who are in need of loaning?. Is it not what our bank's motto says?." asked Nick, not looking at his boss.

Gary sighed with little irritation while closing his pen. "The higher ups told me that I am not allowed to answer that."

Nick looked at Gary with a brow raised. "Are you saying that we are not supposed to help those who are in need of loaning?."

"We are supposed to help our animals!. Us in general!." Gary got up from his seat and walked around from his desk and faced Nick with deep seriousness. "The bank's money is not just the deposit accounts of our clients but it is our money!. How are we supposed to survive out here?. You think that money grows on trees!?. Huh!?. Huh!?."

Gary calmed down. Yelling is not going to help solve his situation. Nick is truly getting tired of being yelled at by his boss, and yet he needs this job for his family's sake. Gary turned slightly to his desk and pulled a slip in which Nick could see and read. It was the bank's guided professional value. Something that they gave to every new employee to help understand what the bank's expectations are when working in their branch.

Gary glanced at the laminated sheet and began speaking. "We all know that the money of the clients is saying that the client is always right. But really their money belongs to us and…"

"We are always right." Nick finished his boss's sentences.

"And…" Gary had a look of surprise at how Nick knows it by heart. He looked at Nick with a happy facial expression. "Yeah…yes, that is correct, Nick!."

Gary went on talking while Nick just listened to whatever that possum was saying. The sooner this meeting is over the sooner that he can return to his boring depressing day at the office, Nick told himself this. At that very moment in time, Nick took a glance out the window to see a female mole carrying her two bags of groceries while taking her sweet time walking down on the sidewalk. Least someone is enjoying their day in Nick's opinion. That is until he saw what he did not expect to see. On that same spot he saw a group of variety animal teenagers, who should be somewhere in school, ganged up on the poor woman and pushed her into a close alleyway.

Nick's eyes grew wide in utter shock. Feeling his inner hero wanting to get out and go save that woman from being mugged. However, he is in a pickle. For one, he can not just go up there in broad daylight in his real identity. That is a most definite no-no. Second, he is in a private meeting with his boss. Unfortunately, he has limited time to make a decision.

"And do you know the fun funt about the old saying of once you ask for a loan you will never want to loan it back?. Huh, Nick?." Gary chuckled a bit while waiting for a response in this wonderful conversation he was having. But he is not hearing a response. "Uh, Nick?. Nick?. Nick Wild?."

Nick was too distracted to even pay attention to whatever his boss was saying. He was too busy watching those teeangers pull out knives and started beating down the poor woman with no sense of mercy or compassion. This is hurting Nick emotionally.

"Nick!." Gary came up and grabbed Nick by the chin and pulled him close to his face. "Nick, look at me when I am talking to you!."

This broke Nick's attention and made his decision. "Gary there is a mole woman being mugged by a group of teens over there."

Gary took a glance and saw what Nick was saying. Nick believes that Gary is going to have a change of heart and go call security to help that defenseless woman. Oh, boy, how Nick was absolutely wrong he was about his boss.

Gary looked at Nick with a, 'I do not give a flying damn', attitude and spoke with such cold heartedness. "Well, let us hope that those teens are not stealing loaned money that belongs to us. If so then that woman is going to be in such deep debt with our bank."

Nick can not believe what he is hearing. His boss is a swine and he is not even a pig. Nick can not stand by and let this happen. He pushed himself off of Gary and got right out of his seat with determination.

"I'm going to save that woman with or without." Nick marched his way in reaching the door while ignoring Gary.

"Nick get your ass back here or else!. Nick if you leave my office your ass is fired and jobless ASAP!." yelled Gary.

That right there made Nick stop in his tracks. His paw is on the doorknob with the door slightly open. Hearing the not so bluffed threat from Gary, Nick had to submit. He needs this job to support himself and his family. However, at that moment he is getting mad.

Gary smirked at his control of Nick. "Now, be a good lap dog and close my door."

Nick breathed out of his mouth and did what was ordered to him. Gary chuckled in amusement at what he was doing. He got him by the slave whip.

"Now…come here to where I am. Now." Gary ordered.

Nick exhaled again through his mouth. He let go of the doorknob in which he crushed it and left a huge dent in it. He walked over to where his pain in the ass boss and faced him. Nick glanced back at the same window and saw the teens finished mugging the beaten down woman and left with hace, with one of them taking a quick spit on the woman. Nick started to get really mad after seeing all of this unfold and did not do a single thing.

"They have gotten away." Nick spoke angrily through his teeth.

And Gary is making it even worse for not only Nick but also for himself.

"Well, good." Gary spoke with a sly response.

Nick's left eye twitched. "Say what?."

"You heard me." Gary got closer to Nick. "And also that is not the only thing that got away. I never liked you nor do I like fat animals. In other words you are F-I-R-E-D. You're fired. Oh, how, I can not wait to drive by and see your ass and your family on the streets begging for spare change. Hell, I am going to be your supporter. I will let your little girl, Violet, give me a nice blowjob in exchange for some cash. You know the old saying, Nick. Do something strange for a piece of chan…"

Not giving Gary the chance to finish his sentence, Nick instantly snapped and grabbed Gary by the neck tightly. Without any second thought due to being in full utter rage, Nick super strongly threw Gary through the plastic window. Not only did he go through the window, but he also went flying through the whole loan office floor and hit the solid brick wall. It got every animal's attention and stopped at everything in what they were doing. Some looked back at the source and saw Nick, who is seen through the big hole with a screwed facial expression.

"Uh, shit." said Nick.

Finding himself at the hospital hours later while currently sitting outside of his assumed ex-boss's hospital room, Nick waited with anxiety all over his body. When doing the regretful deed, Nick called up the only animal that can help pull him out of the deep end. As a matter of fact this certain animal has been pulling him and his family out of the deep end ever since the first incident. Speaking of the animal that pulled him out of the deep end Clawhasur came out of the room in his black button down shirt with black jean pants carrying his silver briefcase.

Nick looked at his friend who gave him that look of upsetness and disappointment. Clawhauser got done handling anything with Gary, who is all bandaged up while being covered in a full body cast with his limbs stretched into a position of healing. To his suffering and misery, Gary's mouth not only got damaged when colliding with the wall but also he lost all of his teeth, and the care doctor had to pull a bunch of cotton in his mouth before sewing his mouth shut in order for his jaws to heal.

Clawhasur had to do his work and had a discussion with Gary and the bank's company to keep super quiet about the incident, and even have to pay in hush money. Clawhauser motioned Nick to follow him as the two took a walk down the hallway in the discussion.

"Well?." Nick looked at the overweight cheetah.

"Well what?." Clawhauser looked straight down.

"Am…Am…I…Am I still fired from the bank?." Nick asked.

Clawhauser looked at Nick and both spoke with sarcasm and gave a fake excited facial expression. "No, they saw that you are working so hard and decided to give you a promotion and have you go out of town meeting."

Nick sighed in hearing the sarcasm while letting out an exhale. "My ass is so fucking fired aren't I?."

Clawhauser changed his fake facial expression to his real plain unamused facial expression. "Nah, shit, foxy. What the hell, Nick, why did you let that pain in the ass of a possum get the better of you?."

"Clawhauser, I am sorry, dude. I saw a woman being mugged by a group of teens and he just didn't give a damn. He even disrespected my little girl, saying that he will pay her if she blows him." explained Nick.

"What?. Well, damn he does deserve being in that body case. But that does not make up the damage you caused." said Clawhasuer.

The two reached the elevator door with Clawhauser calling the elevator to come. At that time of waiting, Clawhauser started breaking down the facts of the cost of keeping Nick and his family secured. Much less for all of the Supers.

"First, we have to pay hush money or wipe away memories to prevent the word from spreading. Then we have to pay for the expensive damages. Next, we have to relocate you somewhere far away from your current location, much less make up written explanations for all things from job to school. Money, Money, Money, it is all about the damn freaking…we can not keep on doing this Nick!. You are killing the governmental system." said Clawhasuer, looking at Nick in stress.

"I know, I know, I am sorry." Nick sighed. "I just want to do what is right."

"Well, on behalf of myself and everyone from back in the day, I appreciate the amazing civil service for what you did back in the day. But that is in the past. The 90's and the 2000's are over and gone. The Glory Days era is over and dead. Nick it is over. Stop living in the past and focus more heavily on your wife and kids. That is what I'm doing." said Clawhasuer, before getting in the elevator.

He pressed the button to the floor on where he needs to be. Clawhasuer was about to press the button that made the doors close faster, until he saw a super saddened Nick with his ears down. Seeing how bad he has said to Nick have made Clawhauser feel very bad and stopped the elevator doors from closing by using his paw.

"Look, Nick, uh…me and Gazelle do own a nice amazing private beach house in Honolulu, Hawaii." Clawhauser spoke with a friendly smile. "I am sure that me and my wife do not mind giving you and Judy a fresh start in having you own one of our living properties."

"No…No, thank you, Clawhasuer." Nick sighed while relaxing. "We finally stayed in one place in one full year and Judy is back working at her original police department. I just can not uproot my family again, again, again, and again."

"I understand." Clawhauser nodded. "Now, if you change your mind then do not be afraid to call me. Or if you do not want to move to Hawaii, then I do have one relocation to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. If you chose Canada, then that would be the ultimate start over for you and your family. If you do want to move to another country, which I do mean Canada, then I hope that you and your family get used to the never ending cold and snow. But you can never beat Canada's wonderful healthcare package."

"Again, like I said, I do not want to uproot my family once again." said Nick.

"Very well then, Nick. When you get home, start looking for a new job. I recommend you use Indeed. It is quite trustworthy. If you can not find work or no one is hiring, then enjoy being on unemployment paychecks. See you around, Nick." said Clawhasuer, before letting the elevator doors shut.

Nick took a deep depression before waiting for the elevator to come back up and head on home to go look for a job online. Not seeing any opportunity to come flying back into the window. But what are the odds of that happening?.
