Chapter 8: A Prophecy Foretold

Flora and Alyssa entered the grand library of Alfea, the scent of old parchment and wisdom filling the air. The shelves towered above them, lined with countless tomes and scrolls, each containing secrets and stories from distant realms. They made their way to the librarian's desk, where an elegant fairy with pinksih-purple hair and spectacles awaited. Barbatea, the librarian, greeted them with a kind smile. "Welcome to Alfea's library, young fairies. How may I assist you today?"

Flora cleared her throat, her voice gentle. "We're looking for information about a realm called Mystelar and its history. Anything you can provide would be greatly appreciated."

Barbatea's eyes twinkled with intrigue. "Ah, Mystelar a realm of storms and mystery. Let me see what we have."

She walked to a nearby shelf and began to peruse the titles, her fingers trailing along the spines of various books. After a moment, she selected a weathered tome and brought it back to the desk. "Here we are, 'Tales of the ethereal Skies: Mystelar's Secrets Unveiled.'"

Alyssa's curiosity grew as she leaned in to get a better look at the book. "Is that the right one?"

Barbatea nodded. "Indeed. This volume contains accounts of Mystelar's history, its people, its unique connection to weather magic and the royal family. It might hold the answers you seek."

Flora and Alyssa exchanged glances before carefully opening the book. Pages filled with intricate illustrations and ancient text unfolded before them. As they flipped through the pages, one passage caught Alyssa's eye, and she read it aloud:

"In the realm of Mystelar, where skies and storms intertwine,

A prophecy foretells of a princess, her power quite divine.

From chaos to harmony, her choices shall determine,

If storms shall rise in fury or peace shall brightly burn.

A dual nature she possesses, to bring discord or peace,

Her heart's true path awaits her, as time and tides increase.

A prince from birth but with a future shrouded in mystery

Shall go down as a powerful fairy in the recent history

To find her counterpart, a bond of love and fate,

A fairy of nature's grace, or flames of dragon's state.

Nevermore shall she give into the hate."

Flora's eyes widened as she exchanged a surprised look with Alyssa. "This... this sounds like..."

Alyssa nodded, her voice hushed. "It sounds like me. But how is that possible?"

Barbatea leaned in, her eyes kind. "The magical world is full of mysteries, dearies. Sometimes, our destinies are intertwined with forces beyond our understanding. Perhaps this prophecy holds a clue to your own journey."

Flora closed the book gently, a thoughtful expression on her face. "It's fascinating and a bit overwhelming. Alyssa, maybe this is the key to discovering more about your true origins. Miss Barbatea may we take this book for more research."

Barbatea smiled "Of course just be careful, the only other copy of that book known to exist is at Red Fountain."

Alyssa's heart raced with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. "You're right, Flora. Maybe Mystelar holds the answers I've been searching for all along, and taking borrowing it will help."

As they left the library, the echoes of the prophecy lingered in their minds. Alyssa's path seemed to be intertwining with a prophecy from a realm she hadn't even known existed 72 hours ago. With Flora by her side and a newfound determination, she was ready to uncover the truths that Mystelar held and embrace her destiny, whatever it may be.

Meanwhile in the tunnels connecting Cloud Tower, Red Fountain and Alfea, three mysterious figures we're gathered around a crystal trying to contact Valtor as they had a third copy of Tales of the Ethereal Skies: Mystelar's Secrets Unveiled.

"Come on… come on." The leader with icy white hair said trying to get Valtor on the line.

"Calm down Icy, its not like she's gonna go anywhere, we'll find her and bring her to the side of evil."

"Can you be so sure Darcy, she's been cozying up to those awful fairies trying to act like she belongs there."

"Yes Stormy I'm sure not fuck off and don't doubt me."

Finally Icy got a hold of Valtor "Lord Valtor we have information on the prophecy and I think that could grant us the control over this realm."

"If you mean that 'fairy' Alyssa I already know Icy. I've been watching her, feeding off her insecurities. I invaded her dream last night after our new teammate did it first."

As if on cue Princess Diaspro walked up in the holographic projection. "Yes it was fun, but make no mistake witches and Valtor, I'm only doing this so I can pay Bloom back. Once we get what we need on all sides I'm done and you can have fun. Valtor I'm gonna go to Alfea and see if I can cause some trouble now."

With that the call ended and the three witches began laughing ready for that plan to take over Magix and the rest of the worlds to plunge them into darkness for all eternity. At Alfea Flora and Alyssa were sitting in Flora's room reading the book on Mystelar while sitting on Flora's bed. The duo was skimming using their fingers to look for important things and every so often their hands would touch causing them to blush and to look away from each other. When dinner came around Flora and Alyssa left the book in Flora's room and headed out. At the same time Princess Diaspro arrived on campus and immediately say the fliers about the 'No Boy Fairies' club and was intrigued about it. She decided to find Emily or Lauren to discuss more about it.

Emily was sitting in the grad hall when Diaspro walked up to her holding a pamphlet about the 'No Boy Fairies' club. "So about this club, how many members are in it?"

Emily looked up and saw Diaspro's ice blue eyes "Only three. Me, Stella and Lauren. Recruitment has been rough no one want's to join its like they're trying to keep the peace we need to have a recruitment drive. Like we need to put up posters demonizing Alyssa. For example an exaggerated cartoon of her as a kinda masculine fairy with facial hair on a poster with the caption 'Does this look like a real fairy to you?' what do you think Diaspro?"

"Ooo that sounds good I'll get started on making them and we can put them up tonight. Alyssa will be so embarrassed she'll have to leave. Maybe we can dig more dirt on her and use it to destroy her happiness maybe we can find her mom on earth and see what we can use against her from there." With that the 'No Boy Fairies' club went to earth and went to find Alyssa's mom.

On earth Laura Thompson was at home enjoying a nice warm cup of tea reading the most recent letter Alyssa had sent her,

Dear mom,

It's been a while since I wrote, things at Alfea have been rough. The magical world is like a whole different world than the one I grew up in, sometimes I yearn for my old life back, it wasn't perfect but it was familiar. I miss waking up and having the house to myself but it's okay that I don't have that now you're not drinking and you're actually taking time for yourself. I do miss walking around Princeton and enjoying what the town has to offer.

Classes at Alfea have been rough, I've been struggling to control my powers, every time I get angry or depressed my powers seem to spiral out of control. I've accidentally caused two blizzards and a torrential downpour of rain. I'm trying so hard and it just seems to be getting harder. There's this group of girls at Alfea who call themselves the No Boy Fairies club they seem to poke fun at me every chance they get. On one of the last assignments in Professor Palladium's class was to use the Magical Reality Chamber and use our powers to bring life back to a barren land...this one girl, Emily she called me an interloper and made me doubt myself.

I'll be sure to write more as I get more settled in to Alfea. I want to make you proud and dad proud… where ever he is. In a couple weeks parents are encouraged to come visit… there's a barrier that surrounds Alfea so you wont be able to see the school but we can walk around Magix. I hope to see you and we can have a mother daughter day. No. matter what happens I wont give up and I wont leave Alfea. I have a ton of supports there… you remember Flora right? The one you met when we went to pick up my clothes? Well I've been developing feelings for her and I think she might be too… but I've also been developing feelings for Bloom, you remember her the compassionate redhead that you met twice I'm not sure what I should do mom...anyway don't want to bore you with relationship drama I love you. Much love.

Your Loving Daughter

Alyssa.

As Laura finished reading the letter, Diaspro, Stella, Emily and Lauren barged into Alyssa's home.

"Laura Thompson?" Diaspro said, her voice dripping with false concern.

"Yes that's me." Laura said.

"Finally we've tried four other houses and none until now were correct." Diaspro said. "We're friends of Alyssa's and we just wanted to see the house she grew up in see her room and see you to learn more about Alyssa."

Laura looked skeptical but let the quartet in, not like she had much choice.

Diaspro began talking to Laura "So Laura what can you tell me about Alyssa? What was she like growing up? Did she have any hobbies?"

Laura grew increasingly skeptical of this line of questioning thinking it was a fishing expedition. While Stella and Emily went up to search Alyssa's room and Lauren went and searched the living room. Laura thankfully had put the photo albums away in the attic for safe keeping.

In Alyssa's room Stella had found a clean pressed uniform with a patch on it saying 'Princeton Junior High/High School Army JROTC.' not much was there to give away dirt that the 'No Boy Fairies' club could use but Stella snapped a pic of the uniform anyway. Emily on the other hand found a swath of dirt on Alyssa, she found yearbooks from 4th to 7th grade. "Bingo Stella look at these I have pictures of 'Alyssa' look short hair in all grades but look even better her dead name… Steven. This is the ultimate dirt. Let's get going and tell Diaspro.

The two in Alyssa's room left and went back downstairs and heard the last bit of the conversation between Laura and Diaspro, with Lauren listening in.

"…...Yeah Alyssa was always a child full of spunk and drive and I think Alfea is the school she needs. I hope I've answered all your questions Diaspro, now its getting late I need to go to bed." Laura said ushering the quartet out of her home...little did she know that those were Alyssa's bullies and some of the things that they found were gonna be used to create a further rift at Alfea.
