A/N: The FINAL chapter! I'm so glad there are Oddissi fans out there and CL fans still active! Thanks for enjoying my story! ❤
So, when it comes to the breakfast scene, I am a foodie and food is just so important to living. So the fact that it's just as important to Odd comes up a lot in my stories! I love that he can get feral when it comes to eating lol Enjoy Odd enjoying food!
The next morning, Odd awoke bright and early, at least, compared to his normal schedule of sleeping in until the last minute possible before bursting out of bed and heading straight for the cafeteria for breakfast.
Even though he had stayed up way past his normal sleep hours, he felt incredibly energized.
Before his roommate returned, Odd had taken his dog outside to do his business and returned to get ready, almost rushing as fast as he could. As soon as he had finished getting dressed and had started putting on his shoes, his roommate walked back into the room.
Ulrich was carrying his shower caddy and was surprised to see Odd awake. Lacing up his platforms, Odd stood quickly, eager to get some of his pent-up energy out.
"Come on, Ulrich." He said, stretching a bit as his friend got ready.
Ulrich paused after he threw on a shirt and looked at him suspiciously. Which was fair because the last time they had talked, Odd had been practically moping. His mood had gone up substantially and it wasn't only the conversation with Ulrich the night before that had put him in a chipper mood.
"You sure are ready for breakfast." Ulrich said, continuing to get dressed.
"And that surprises you?"
"What surprises me is how early it is and you're already up and dressed." he said, shaking his head.
Odd shrugged and put his hands on his hips as his friend finally started lacing his shoes up.
"For sure." Odd said, unable to hide his smile. "I invited Sissi to sit with us this morning."
Ulrich froze and looked up at his friend, wide-eyed.
"How'd you manage that?"
Odd's grin widened. "Just call it the 'Della Robbia Charm'."
Rolling his eyes, Ulrich continued with his shoes.
"Oh please," he said with a smile.
Odd turned to pick up his dog, giving him kisses and a goodbye hug. While his back was turned, he heard Ulrich open the door and make a soft startled sound. When he turned to investigate, he saw Sissi standing in the doorway.
Even though he had seen his girlfriend not even a handful of hours earlier that morning, it was like he couldn't drink in the sight of her enough and he had to hold back a sigh when their eyes met.
"Oh, hello Ulrich." Sissi said a little awkwardly as she moved past him and into their room. Odd let go of Kiwi, who jumped down onto the bed with a bark.
"Good morning," she said and opened her arms to him. Odd gladly accepted her hug, breathing in the familiar scent of her sweet perfume.
"Morning, amore." He said softly into her shoulder.
When he pulled back she was blushing. Kiwi jumped at her side, vying for her attention and she laughed, turning to give him a kiss.
"Oh and good morning, you little cutie!" She said, cooing at his dog. Odd felt like he was falling in love all over again as he watched her with Kiwi.
Suddenly Odd's stomach grumbled and he laughed, pushing at her shoulder lightly.
"Sounds like that's our cue to get some food!" he said. Sissi just rolled her eyes but gave Kiwi a couple of pats on the head before heading out the door after Ulrich.
At some point, Ulrich lingered behind the couple, no doubt waiting for Yumi to join them for breakfast. As they made their way through the cafeteria line, Odd straightened his back and put on his best smile when pulling up in front of the head chef of their school.
She had always reminded Odd of his grandmother, especially when she provided him with extra servings. It was something he always looked forward to, come mealtime.
"Good morning, Rosa!" he said with a wide smile. "You're looking extra lovely today, you must have done something new with your hair."
"Oh Odd, you charmer." Rosa said, laughing. "I bet you're wanting an extra helping of sausage and eggs, huh?"
"You know me well!"
With another laugh, she scraped up a few more spoonfuls for him and forked over a second sausage roll. Odd's mouth watered at the sight. Sissi just shook her head beside him but didn't comment.
"Thank you!" He said but before he moved, he looked beside him at his girlfriend's suspiciously bare tray of food. Looking back at the older woman, he tilted his head towards Sissi.
"Maybe some for my lovely girl, here?" Odd said, looking at Sissi.
Sissi's eyes widened and she shook her head. "Oh, oh no, I don't need anything more!" She raised a hand toward Rosa who had lifted another spoonful of eggs toward her. "Thank you Rosa."
Sissi awkwardly shoved Odd away and toward the table where he and his friends usually sat.
"Odd," Sissi chided quietly, "why'd you do that?"
"You looked like you needed more food." He said honestly. "I'm just looking out for mia bella."
Sissi flushed but as they neared the table, he noticed her fingers fidgeting against the tray in her hands. He hoped his friends would welcome her to their table. Even though she had been his girlfriend for a while now, it wasn't like she had ever been invited to sit with them before.
"Hello!" Odd said, a little more loudly than was necessary, drawing their attention to him instead of his girlfriend.
Sissi was treading on eggshells as she sat down quietly. She positioned herself between Aelita and him, her shoulders almost coming up to her ears protectively.
"Good morning." She said softly.
Jeremie sat across from them, next to two open spots meant for the remainder of his friends.
Aelita immediately began to talk to Sissi. She wasn't the best at social situations but she knew how to make a friend. Sissi seemed to relax a bit, the more Aelita spoke to her and by the time Ulrich and Yumi had joined their table, Sissi had a bright smile on her face.
Odd looked at his pink-haired friend and when her eyes caught him she smiled, nodding her approval. It was all he needed to know that Sissi was in good hands with his friends.
He didn't pay too much attention to what they were talking about, it sounded like music or something similar, but he watched the glow that seemed to radiate from Sissi's expression. Odd admired her with a hand on his cheek. Just seeing how happy his friend had made her, how Aelita had effortlessly included her in their little group, and how comfortable Sissi was around his other friends was more than enough to make him swoon at the sight.
Turning back to his food, Odd tried not to become overwhelmed with soft emotion so early in the morning.
The others joined in on the conversation and Sissi seemed to glow at the positive attention.
After a while, Sissi watched Odd finish off almost everything from his tray of food and she frowned.
"You know, Odd," she said, "I really am jealous of how much you're able to eat and still stay skinny as a bean pole."
Odd wiped his mouth and patted his stomach.
"This svelte body takes time and work, sweetheart." He said with a wink.
Sissi couldn't help but smile at his words.
Looking down at her plate, Odd noticed again that Sissi hadn't grabbed much food to eat that morning. Perhaps it had been from nerves or simply not being hungry but the idea that someone wasn't hungry the moment they woke up was completely foreign to Odd. So, without even thinking, he picked up his uneaten croissant, something he always saved for the last bite of the morning.
"Here, you want my croissant, Sissi?" he asked, "Take it. It'll help with that lovely figure you've got."
For a moment it looked like she was going to refuse his offer and tell him something about how that wasn't how carbs worked, which would have been fine by him. The more food he could eat, the better, but then Sissi's eyes widened and she smiled softly.
"Thanks," she said and their fingers brushed against each other as he handed it over to her.
It felt like fire against his fingertips and when she pulled away, he realized that she understood the significance of his offer. He hadn't really thought about it but he didn't like sharing his food with anyone, not even his friends. Food was nourishment and food was art. He took eating it seriously but knowing that his girlfriend was well-fed filled him with a satisfaction that food couldn't give him.
When he turned back to his tray, he noticed the table had become quiet. The others were looking at him, eyes wide, all except for Ulrich, who was already aware of the depth of Odd's affections for Sissi.
Ulrich shook his head with a hand on the bridge of his nose. "I think I'm gonna be sick."
"What?" Odd said.
Sissi was blushing beside him but happily tore off a piece of the bread and quietly ate her food, which in turn made Odd quite happy as well.
"I don't think I've ever seen you GIVE your food to someone." Jeremie said, shaking his head as if everything this morning had been a dream and he was suddenly going to wake up.
"I do, sometimes." Odd said, defensively.
"Since when?" He heard Aelita snort and he turned to glare at her.
"Well, I appreciate it." Sissi said, setting the croissant down to kiss Odd on his forehead.
The pressure was quick but it felt like sparks against his temple and he dramatically flung his hands in the air, throwing himself against the table beside his tray with a flourish.
"Oh!" He said dreamily. It was a little too dramatic because everyone at the table, including Sissi, just rolled their eyes. "One good deed and I think I've gone to heaven."
The others laughed and Odd looked up at his girlfriend who was smiling down at him with a faint blush on her cheeks.
After a week of school work, the weekend had finally arrived and with it, the spring dance. Odd hadn't been nervous about it while in contrast, Sissi had been planning out their night the whole week long. He just didn't see any reason to plan out a night that was meant for fun. Sissi, on the other hand, wanted everything to be perfect for their first dance as a couple.
She had even planned out matching outfits for each other, finding something she thought was suitable for him to wear in his closet. It was a nice enough outfit, jeans and a button-up top he had forgotten he even owned, Odd's signature purple color highlighted by the pink in Sissi's dress.
That dress.
When Odd had shown up to Sissi's room the night of the dance, she looked unbelievably stunning in a simple cami dress that hung to her curves like paint pouring over a statue. Odd's hands itched to touch her. The fabric of the dress was an iridescent color-changing fuchsia pink that glittered to purple when the light hit it in just the right spot.
"I-uh, wow-" He said when she opened the door to her room and he could feel his face light up under her gaze.
Sissi blushed as well at his words, the pink of her cheeks undeterred by the makeup she had meticulously applied.
Odd had never seen her wear it before and he had a sneaking suspicion that she bought it just for the occasion. The idea made Odd's chest tighten with affection.
"What do you think?" She asked, giving him a twirl.
Sissi's hair cascaded in carefully coiffed curls around her shoulders and bounced from the movement. He was speechless for a moment and when she arched an eyebrow at him, Odd cleared his throat and held his elbow out for her to take.
"Stunning." He said when she took his arm. "Beautiful. I could look at you all night long and never get tired."
Sissi laughed and pulled herself against his side a little tighter.
It was a breath of fresh air to go to a school function without the threat of Xana disrupting the night. While he hadn't been too worried about it, both Jeremie and Aelita seemed to step a little lighter when he met with his friends in the main gymnasium.
"Hey Einstein, nice bow." Odd said, trying not to laugh at the effort his friend had put in to impress their pink-haired friend. Aelita smiled beside Jeremie and gestured toward him and his girlfriend.
"You look amazing!" She said, obviously talking to Sissi but Odd spoke up, running a hand through his hair.
"Thanks, Princess. It's all natural beauty, you know."
Sissi slapped him on the shoulder and moved to give a hug to Aelita. During the week, Sissi sat with them more often and became closer to Aelita specifically. It turned out that they had a lot in common when it came to both music and fashion.
Walking up together, his other two best friends joined in on the conversation. They were both blushing and Odd assumed they had been having a conversation with each other beforehand and while it looked a little suspicious walking in with matching red faces, he knew they were far from admitting any sort of romantic feelings towards each other.
Odd loved his best friend but Ulrich was a little dense sometimes when it came to actually picking up girls.
"Hey love birds," He said as they joined the group. Ulrich glared at him and Yumi simply looked away, not wanting to confront or confirm his statement.
Looking around, Odd noticed that no food had been served, which was a travesty in Odd's opinion. Dances were meant to have food and drink to move the night along. He complained about it to his friends and when they ignored him he turned to his girlfriend.
"It's not a big deal," she said a little naively to the boy who could eat any amount of food at any time. "Please, let's just have fun tonight!"
"It would be more fun with food." He grumbled.
Sissi ignored him and grabbed his hand.
"Oh! I love this song, let's go!" And with that, she pulled him towards their classmates who had already begun moving on the dance floor.
Most of the songs they played were upbeat and it was fun to just let loose with his friends. They danced as a group for a while but slowly his other friends left the dancefloor, leaving him alone with his girlfriend.
It had only been about a month since Odd and Sissi had first begun messaging each other online but it had seemed like no time at all.
Odd looked toward the side of the dance floor where Ulrich and Yumi stood, holding up the gym wall as they looked equally bored with the room. While his friends hadn't immediately accepted their romance, eventually when they realized how serious he was about Sissi, they began to ease into the idea.
Turing to see Aelita dancing with Jeremie nearby, he reminded himself that he needed to thank the pink-haired girl for practically setting him and his girlfriend up in the first place. He had almost given up their online dating after finding out it had been Sissi.
It hadn't been easy, forming a meaningful relationship with Sissi. Odd was used to flirting but actually working to keep a romantic relationship with someone had been almost overwhelming at times. Even though they ran over a few bumps along the road, and some annoying arguments that still left a little worry in his chest when he thought about them, they had held strong to each other.
Odd trusted her completely and he was pretty sure she trusted him, if not, just as much.
Enjoying the music that played, Odd watched Sissi as they danced along. The song playing was a mix between upbeat and slow, which made the atmosphere feel a lot more intimate between them.
At first, they danced without touching, just enjoying each other's company. But Odd couldn't stand the distance any longer and he reached out for her. His fingers met with Sissi's hands and softly rubbed against her palms. Electricity sparked against their skin and jolted through him all the way up to his chest.
She smiled and fully grabbed his hand to pull him closer. Their bodies were just shy of touching each other and the small space between them felt irritatingly large compared to how close he knew they were.
Sissi had always been taller than him but the heels she was wearing were smaller than her usual platforms and it brought them just a small amount of distance closer in height.
Odd looked up at her as she twirled in his hands and it was like she was moving in slow motion, her curls flouncing around her as she laughed. Odd's heart swelled at the sight and he smiled, gripping her hand tighter when she spun closer to him.
She must have misjudged the space between them because she stumbled against him, a bright smile still on her face and she flushed at the nearness her fumble had brought them. Her free hand fell onto his shoulder and she looked down at him, her eyes widening.
It was as if all the air around them had been sucked out of the room. An intake of breath as the world stopped turning. Odd and Sissi floated against each other in a sea of bodies.
The height difference between the pair was evident the closer their bodies were to one another. Sissi was a good head above him and as he looked up at her he felt like swooning.
Odd blushed at the idea.
He honestly loved how tall she was. It made her that much more intimidating and highlighted her commanding personality.
"Fuck" he mumbled, feeling his heart pumping in his throat.
"Hmm?" Sissi said, still a little lost as she looked at him with a soft smile.
"Nothing." He said, swallowing. "You're just- you're just so beautiful."
Sissi gasped softly, Odd could feel the intake of breath against his chest, and she blushed.
Sissi fluttered her eyes across Odd's face, catching on his lips. Odd couldn't help himself as his eyes did the same, unable to look away from the girl he had fallen so hard for.
Unlike all of the other times Odd had been caught aching to kiss Sissi, she finally seemed to succumb to the idea. Slowly she bent down and Odd eagerly surged upward to meet her in the middle, moving his fingers to slide into her hair, holding her head in his hands.
It was something they had been putting off for a long time, for reasons he couldn't even remember but it was well worth the wait as their lips slid together in a soft kiss.
Odd had a reputation at his school. He was the Casanova of Kadic and that came with a lot of practice. He was good at the art of kissing and he knew it. Kissing softly, for the girls who wanted a little more romance thrown into it. Kissing passionately, using his tongue to drive the girls wild. Kissing tenderly on the skin, which was one of his favorite ways to lead up to a nice make-out session.
But every technique, every girl he had ever locked lips with paled considerably to the absolute explosion that was kissing Sissi Delmas.
The kiss didn't last near long enough for the overwhelming passion he felt for the girl in his arms but Sissi pulled away slowly, her eyes still closed, as if she was in a dream that she didn't want to wake up from.
Her lips were still puckered and Odd had to restrain himself from pressing up into them again, giving Sissi time to breathe.
Odd knew that his girlfriend had dated perhaps a handful of boys before, but when it came to kisses, she was well behind the count of lips he had kissed. Even if he could handle kissing Sissi for hours on end, he wasn't sure she would be willing to do the same.
Slowly Sissi's lashes fluttered open.
"Why-" she managed after swallowing hard. "Why'd you stop?"
Odd flushed and smiled wide at her response.
Sissi swooped downward to kiss him again, her hands moving to grip his chest. Her lips were soft and Odd responded to her after a moment.
"Sorry," he said, kissing her again. "I was just admiring the beauty of my girlfriend."
Sissi's breath hitched in his throat as Odd pressed his lips firmly against hers. He pulled her against him and moved to put his hands on her hips.
She leaned down, her hands fisting in his purple button up and the entire world seemed to tilt, swirling around them in a fog of desire. Odd was lost in the warm sensation and he sighed against her closed lips.
"Wow," he said a little breathlessly.
Sissi opened her eyes with difficulty as she pulled back and she looked over his face for a moment before speaking.
"What?" she asked.
"Well," Odd said with a ragged breath, swallowing. "I've kissed so many girls. All the girls." he said with a laugh but the hard glare he received from his girlfriend caused the laugh to die in his throat and he immediately began backtracking.
"But! I don't think I've ever felt the incredible spark of fireworks before. I've heard it described, you know. But no kiss I've ever had felt like that."
The upset expression on Sissi's face changed to light awe as she looked at him for a moment. He always tripped over his words when he was around her but each time he managed to right himself again.
"Guess I saved the best for last." He said with a smile.
Sissi flushed and looked away when she couldn't stop a smile from spreading across her face.
"You're stupid." She said, shaking her head.
"Maybe," Odd said with a shrug. "But you love it."
Sissi turned back to look him in the eyes, studying the open expression of fondness he had for her. Slowly she moved her hands to his cheeks, holding him like he had been holding her before.
"I do," she said softly. "And I love you."
Odd's entire body froze as she held him. It felt like he couldn't breathe as he looked up at Sissi with wide eyes. He knew what he had heard, he had said the same thing to her almost a week before, but hearing the words tumble from her perfect pink lips was almost suffocating.
"Yeah?" he managed to choke out.
Sissi nodded and pulled him in for a much shorter kiss before putting her arms around him and laying her cheek against the top of his head. Odd curled his arms around her small waist and pressed against her shoulder, breathing into the crook of her neck.
They danced like that to a slow song that had started playing while they had been completely entranced by one another.
Sissi made a comment about how his hair was doused in too much gel but she had a smile on her face and she actively made a point to bury her nose into the top of his head so Odd knew her words had no weight to them.
It wasn't until the next song that Sissi pulled back from Odd, smiling down at him. They made their way silently over toward the edge of the room when a fast-paced, much louder song began to play.
"I think this has been the best school dance they've ever thrown." Odd said with a smile, linking his fingers with his girlfriends.
"You're just saying that because you got a kiss out of it." Sissi said as she moved close and brushed her shoulders against his.
"I'm saying that because I got to go with you."
Sissi's mouth parted and Odd's eyes were immediately drawn to her lovely lips that still had a good amount of gloss on them.
There was a moment his mind slipped into fantasy and he imagined being able to completely clear the gloss away with his own lips, now that he knew what she tasted like.
Odd's mind sort of short-circuited, fogging up with heart-racing thoughts, and it wasn't until he felt the pressure of something warm against his ear that he returned to the present with a start.
Taking in a quick breath, Odd felt the lips he had been fantasizing about pressing against the tip of his ear.
Odd tightened his grip on her hands and was completely still as Sissi pulled back.
"What's the matter?" she asked with an innocently sweet smile. "Am I moving a little too fast for you?"
Odd's breath hitched and he smirked at her teasing, loving the way she could so easily trip him up.
"Absolutely not, bella." He said, moving a hand to hold her cheek. "In fact, I'd be alright moving a little quicker."
He couldn't miss the way her eyes lit up in delight at his request. They darted to his lips and back to his eyes before she slowly moved forward. Odd reached for her and when their lips met for the fourth time that night, it was just as explosive as the first.
His senses were overloaded. Sissi smelled of cotton candy and tasted of strawberries. She was warm against him as they kissed, the fire from her touch spreading throughout his body and tingling in his fingertips.
There was the sound of a small sigh as she leaned her free hand on his chest and pulled him against her with her other one. Odd couldn't help but be swept away by the absolute fire in his hands.
Slowly there was a soft warm pressure and Odd's eyes rolled back in his head when he felt her tongue graze his lips. Odd moved to thread his fingers into her hair and gripped at the soft strands, clinging to the feeling of her warm body against his.
She was so tall, his head was almost aching at the angle it was at and she was such a fast learner for never having been kissed properly. Odd felt a sense of possessive challenge at the idea of teaching her his best techniques in the art of the kiss.
Sissi pressed her lips against him firmly, practically pulling him up by his neck as she gripped the skin, leaning down as far as she could.
He opened his mouth to her, wanting to get a proper taste, and was excited to find Sissi just as eager to taste him.
Their tongues tentatively touched each other and Odd felt Sissi gasp at the sensation.
"Odd," she said softly into the kiss.
"Oh my god," Odd responded, mumbling into her skin as his mouth moved to press against her jaw.
Sissi giggled at the sensation and put her hands on his shoulders. Odd responded by wrapping his arms around her waist, breathing in the scent of her.
"Odd," she said, "Odd wait."
Odd pulled back slightly, a little dazed and a bit disappointed that she wanted to stop.
"Wha-?"
"Not in front of the whole school," she said with a laugh. "Come on,"
Before he could worry that he had done something wrong or moved just a little too quickly for her she tugged on his wrist lightly and began to lead him toward the side doors of the auditorium.
"It'll be much more private out here." She said with an excited glint in her eye.
Odd simply looked at her in awe as she led him away, the glow of the party lights highlighted behind her, making her radiate angelically. He sighed like the love-struck teenager he was, unbelievably happy with how everything had played out.
Only about a month ago Sissi had been, for lack of a better term, his mortal enemy. Although that wasn't necessarily true, they had never been malicious toward one another but they always seemed to find something to disagree on.
With all the pretense of assumed hate and annoyance stripped away, they found themselves wildly attracted to one another and surprisingly compatible.
Sissi smiled at him with a blush as she pushed the doors open and led him outside. They walked toward a small alcove and snuck back behind a pillar.
"Now," she said, pressing her hands against his chest until his back was against the cold brick wall. "Where were we?"
For someone who had little to no experience with dating, Sissi was incredibly talented when it came to flirting. She was blushing so much, he was almost sure if he reached up and placed his hands on her cheeks, he could feel the heat radiating off of her face. He smiled and did just that, pressing his palms against the flushed skin.
They were, in fact, warm to the touch.
"I think," he said, smiling as he leaned up to meet her halfway. "Right about here."
