Chapter 10: Unwavering Hope and Dreams

Tecna had left the infirmary and headed to the hub of transportation in Magix and headed off to Princeton to head to Alyssa's childhood home. Knocking on the door of Alyssa's childhood home she waited and Laura opened the door.

"Hello, who might you be."

"Hello Mrs Thompson, I'm Tecna. I'm a friend of Alyssa, I'm also her dorm mate. I'm here on request of Flora and Bloom. Flora wrote this." She said handing Alyssa's mom the letter that Flora had wrote. "Flora wanted me to give it to you."

Laura began reading it "'...currently in a coma….been having a rough time...been by her side since then...if shes recovered by Thanksgiving Bloom and I would like to visit.' Thank you Tecna."

"I'm sorry you had to hear it from a letter. Alyssa has been doing well though in spite of everything. I should also mention that...okay this is hard for me to tell you but Alyssa was suspended from Alfea."

"Suspended for what?"

"Well some girls went around putting up some pretty hurtful posters of Alyssa and it caused Alyssa to have some emotional turmoil and loose control over her powers causing a bomb cyclone. If she wakes up she'll be allowed on campus but she'll have intensive comportment classes with Professor DuFour she needs to learn to better control her emotions."

"Oh um okay…." Laura realized that they were still standing out in the open. "Come in Tecna. Do you want tea, coffee, Pepsi or just water? I'm planning on going out for snacks for Alyssa, I know I cant go on the grounds of Alfea but you could bring them for her…. Oh Tecna before I forget you said that some girls put up posters attacking Alyssa, Do you happen to know who did it?"

"No not at this time, but we have a suspicion on who did it we just need more solid evidence before making any final calls, but if you're going out to shop would you mind if I tagged along I would love to get snacks for Alyssa too, she needs to know that Flora, Bloom and I really care for her. I'm not sure if Alyssa told you but she, Bloom and Flora have gotten really close its really sweet to see, I'm just a really good friend."

"Yeah she mentioned it in a letter and of course you can come along. We'll be going to Walmart for her snacks. You can ride shotgun in my truck."

Tecna and Laura headed to Laura's black Toyota Tundra and drove off to the Walmart in town.

Meanwhile back at Alfea Bloom watched Alyssa and Flora sleep smiling.

Back on earth Laura and Tecna were on the way to Walmart talking "So Tecna you're a Fairy and a friend of Alyssa what can you tell me about how she's doing in class?"

"Well Mrs Thompson…"

"Please Tecna, I'll tell you what I told you what I told Bloom and Flora call me Laura. Calling me Mrs Thompson makes me feel so old. I'm only 45 years old."

"Right, sorry. Laura. Alyssa is doing well in her classes she tries her best. Some nights she does sleep in the hall outside of our dorm but that's because one of our dorm mates locks her out because she for some ass backwards reason thinks that you can't be trans and be a fairy."

"That's awful, are the professors doing any thing about it? W..w..what about that professor DuFour?"

"She does punish them but they just hate her even more. If I may ask what are we getting Alyssa?"

"Oh we have quite a big list you'll probably have to make two trips to Alfea. We're getting feista size takies, sparkling ice blue raspberry energy drink 6 pack, some miniature pecan pies, and war heads hard candy and I plan on getting 7 of each thing."

"Oh oh wow that's a lot of stuff for her."

"Yeah but she sounds like she needs it, especially when she wakes up, she's gonna want food that reminds her of home. When you take it to her tell Bloom and Flora that they are welcome here for Thanksgiving and Christmas."

Meanwhile at Alfea dinner time rolled around and Flora was just waking up. "Your turn Bloom. It gets comfortable as you sleep. Alyssa needs us to be close in case she wakes up, one of us will be awake to see her stir."

Musa brought down dinner and asked how they were holding up.

"Hey Flora how's she doing?"

"She's stable and the bleeding has stopped so that's a step in the right direction. But its only been a day so we don't know if she's gonna wake up anytime soon."

"Oh...the dorm isn't the same without her but Stella has been acting really weird since the accident and news of Alyssa's suspension she's been acting like her normal self before Alyssa enrolled here. That's really concerning and I plan to talk to headmistress Faragonda if I can find any evidence of her involvement in this."

"Good idea and thank you for dinner. You can stay down here if you want Musa or you can just visit her later." Flora said

"I'll be down tomorrow I really want to just know any updates and if she'll be back in the dorm any time soon."

"I'll do that Musa. Good night and thanks I see you put a monster on my tray I'll need this to stay awake watching Alyssa at night is boring and I can't turn on the lights bright because I don't want to wake Bloom…could you bring down the blanket from Bloom's room? The infirmary blankets suck and I want them to be comfortable.

"Sure thing Flora. Good night."

Musa left the infirmary leaving Flora alone with her thoughts as she watched over Alyssa and Bloom.

Tecna, meanwhile had checked out at Walmart and Laura and they were back at the Laura's home.

"Tecna, before you go back to Alfea, could you put this in with the snacks and drinks please? I just know my lovely daughter will enjoy having this along with the snacks. She'll be happy to know that I'm thinking of her."

"Of course she deserves that. Thank you Laura for a nice couple of days and I'm sure that now her recovery will be even swifter. I'll be sure to place all of the snacks on her bedside table in the infirmary. Alyssa is lucky to have a mother like you."

"Thanks you Tecna and thank you for being a good friend for her. She sounds like she needs all the friends that she could get. She was always such a loner even in middle school."

"Oh wow I didn't know. I'll make sure to tell her you love her." Tecna said before departing back for Alfea.

"Oh, Alyssa I wish you were awake I miss you I want you to wake up." Flora said her eyes welling up with tears. As the days dragged on hope for Alyssa to recover never faltered. On day three of the never ending cycle of watching and sleeping, Tecna had come back from earth in the middle of the night, walking into the infirmary. She sees Flora awake and taps her on the shoulder.

"How's she doing? Any signs of movement?"

"No not yet. Its been only a few days though, the doctors said that it could be upwards of six weeks. I'm hopeful though. Look at her so peaceful I wonder what she's dreaming about?"

Alyssa, in her dream like state was stuck her mind was battling a demon more intense then what happened a few days ago. The dream landscape was dark, the fog was dancing at Alyssa's feet her shiny gray heels and shiny gray fairy dress were hard to see in the darkness. A familiar dark chilling figure his chilling eyes and pale figure stepped out of the fog.

"Alyssa...Alyssa…Alyssa now what do we have here? Trapped in your own mind and cant escape. Why don't you join me we'll take control of the world of Magix if you join me and we can rule together, I'll even give you the power of the dragon flame."

"I'll never join you Valtor, Bloom is my friend and I'll never betray her."

"How quaint I'll make sure you join me...I'll release you from your mental prison."

As Alyssa dreamed her heart rate raised to 90bpm and blood pressure to 135/82. Musa walked down carrying Alyssa's blanket from Bloom's room draping the two in warm shelter. As soon as Musa draped the blanket over the sleeping duo, Alyssa's heart rate and blood pressure dropped to normal for a sleeping person.

"That was weird, its like the blanket and Bloom's presence relaxed her, what is going on in her head?"

"Yeah but its okay now she's stable." Flora said.
