Land and Sea arc Episode Twenty: Land Vs Sea Part Three
F.M. and Miranda were staring each other down in Miranda's battle dome, which the electricity around the barrier of was now gone. Miranda was annoyed by her battle dome being powered down, but she was still determined to take F.M. out. F.M. felt the same way, getting herself ready to finish Miranda once and for all. She wasn't about to let the hard work of herself, or her friends, go to waste. Miranda had to question this as she pointed to the electricity burn on F.M.'s left arm. "You're weakened Flare. Why don't you just let me kill you?"
F.M. scoffed, being insulted that Miranda would even suggest something like that. "You mean let one setback stop me from doing the right thing?" Miranda kept her battle stance ready as F.M. dug into her very core. "Be honest Miranda. You know killing me isn't going to make you feel better about Tucker's death." Miranda dashed at F.M. and aimed a punch at her, only for her to dodge roll out of the way as she continued. "You just don't want any of my dad's family to be around anymore!"
Miranda growled at F.M., who continued to explain what she thought Miranda was really about. "You let your pain from Tucker's death turn you into a bigoted psychopath. You killed the previous ruler of PupLantis so you could have power. You fueled the Mer-Pups with hatred of change. You used Coral to kill my friend, and got my mother killed in the process! And, you killed my father with your spell, before I even got to know him!"
"Oh boo hoo, you never got to know that monster!" Miranda shouted back, charging at F.M. again, and F.M. evaded and blocked her punches and kicks as she taunted her again. "You're just like me Flare! Stop denying that! You're as hurt as I am, except you're much less powerful! The only difference between us is that I have everything, and you have nothing!"
F.M. caught Miranda's fist, kicking her shin and sending her down to her level before looking into her eyes. "You have it wrong Miranda. The only thing we have in common, is that we were both hurt by the indirect actions of each other." F.M. clenched Miranda's fist, crushing her left hand a little, but not a lot due to not using full strength, before she continued. "The biggest thing that separates us is that I didn't use my pain as an excuse to hurt others. I didn't lock myself away. I let my friends help me. I let myself stay as the Canine I've always been."
Miranda growled attempting to headbutt F.M., who kicked her back just before she could. "I was able to avoid becoming a monster like you." Miranda got up onto her feet as F.M. kept digging into her despicable core. "You never get over death, and I can emphasize with anyone who hurts from it. But that's no excuse to do any of the things you've done. You can't do all of this awful crap, and then try to hurt those who disagree with you as if that makes it okay! You do what you can to heal!"
"STOP ACTING LIKE YOU'RE SO MUCH BETTER THAN ME!" Miranda roared, and F.M. was unfazed, as she didn't see Miranda as a threat in the slightest. "YOU JUST SAID IT YOURSELF! YOU KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO FEEL PAIN FROM DEATH! WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WANT PEOPLE TO HURT THE SAME WAY YOU DO! SO DON'T YOU ACT LIKE YOU KNOW BETTER THAN ME FLARE! WHAT YOU DO IS THE EXACT SAME THING AS ME! "
"No it's not Miranda." F.M. told Miranda again, wanting her to understand why they weren't the same. "We're both hurting from death, and we'll never stop hurting. I see that now. But we both handled it in different ways. I came to terms with my mom's death when I visited her grave. And you just let yourself keep hurting." F.M. sighed with despondence, showing that despite her hatred for Miranda, she still had just a bit of sympathy for her due to understanding her pain. "It's easy to be hurt by tragedy... but it's hard to move on."
Miranda refused to listen any longer, which was just fine by F.M.. "Then I supposed you expect your friends to think that when you're dead!"
"If I die before any of them, sure. But I won't let that happen." F.M. informed Miranda, being as ready for their final battle as she was. "Bring it on Miranda!"
Miranda started charging at F.M., who did the same and collided several punches and kicks with her. F.M. jumped over Miranda's low sweep and punched her right in the face, stunning her for a bit before she grabbed her when she tried to hit her with a jump kick. F.M. grabbed Miranda's arm and held on when she attempted to throw her. After doing so, she landed a kick on Miranda's stomach, only for Miranda to elbow her and then punch her to the side.
F.M. regained her balance as Miranda spawned her trident, throwing it at F.M. and causing her to jump back to avoid it. She then jumped off of the trident and jumped up to the barrier, running on it and impressing Miranda with her speed. She took her trident back and attempted to zap F.M. with the lightning that camp from it. She missed three times with back to back zaps, and F.M. almost got hit right after finishing her first lap around the dome wall. She jumped off after skidding and rolled before charging at Miranda and taking out her knife to throw at her.
F.M. ended up getting zapped in the left leg by the trident, causing her to fall down. But her knife also hit Miranda's trident, causing it to fly out of her paw and move to the side. Miranda tried to spawn her trident again, but F.M. took her gun out and shot her left paw while she was distracted. This led to her holding her now injured hand with F.M. putting her gun away as she did her best to stand up. "You didn't seriously think I'd forget my gun, did you?" She stood on her right leg to avoid pressure on the second. "I'm just trying not to waste bullets with it."
Miranda took a piece of cloth out of her pouch and wrapped it around her hand, knowing she would have to compensate for not having it anymore. "At least you're smart with your resources." F.M. then instantly got to getting the trident, but winced when she put pressure on her left leg. It was clear that the trident bolt was strong enough to prevent her from using it now. Miranda laughed as she called out F.M. for not noticing that. "Did you seriously think the size of the bolt showed the damage it would do?! I used more than enough power to immobilize you!"
F.M. smirked as Miranda laughed some more, saying something that said Miranda was dead wrong. "That's what YOU think." She stood on one hind leg before front flipping over to the trident, shocking Miranda as F.M. thought about how she was able to do this. 'Thank you Skye.' F.M. attempted to grab the trident, but Miranda spawned it just in time. Thankfully, F.M. was able to rebound after failing to grab it. She started front flipping forward again, making sure to only land on her right bottom leg as she did.
F.M. saw her knife, and Miranda attempted to zap her as she lunged for it, which F.M. noticed in an instant. Miranda zapped at the knife, and F.M. faked her out by pretending to lunge at it. Once it went into the air, F.M. boosted herself up and grabbed it just as Miranda aimed her trident at her again. She aimed another lightning bolt at F.M., and thankfully, the bolt was small enough to deflect with the knife. This sent it towards Miranda after it bounced off of the dome, and F.M. was sent back towards the wall of the dome, allowing her to jump off.
Miranda also dodged the lightning bolt, and she attempted to zap F.M. again, only for her to use intense agility to dodge each one. She managed to reach Miranda, and moved her head to the side with a confident smile to dodge the last bolt. F.M. then knocked the trident into the air before jumping up and spin kicking Miranda. She then put her knife away and hit Miranda with a set of flurry punches before sending her back with a super strong backflip kick.
Just as Miranda shook off that kick, F.M. caught the trident after jumping up to grab it. She smashed it as hard as she could on her knee, shocking Miranda as she threw it to the ground. "No!" F.M. landed safely on the ground, or as safely as she could with a wounded leg, and she stared Miranda down as she called her out for breaking her weapon. "I spent five years perfecting the zapping function on that trident!"
"Then it's a good thing it took me five seconds to catch and smash it!" F.M. called back, front flipping to Miranda once again and jumping at her to aim another assault on her. Miranda however, blocked her punch and grabbed her by the chest before punching her multiple times as hard as she could. She then slammed her onto the ground and kicked her to the side, making her roll and tumble before using her front paws to stop herself. Miranda charged at her at full speed, attempting to kick her again with F.M. blocking it as it sent her back.
F.M. stumbled a bit, but she was able to balance herself while Miranda was charging at her again. She ducked under her side kick and grabbed her leg, swinging off of it to land a jumping kick at Miranda. Miranda grabbed F.M. after she landed said kick and threw her towards the dome wall again. After F.M. crashed into the wall, Miranda rammed her into it with full force. F.M. was close enough to her face, and she landed a strong right hook on Miranda before the latter threw her to the ground.
F.M. rolled out of the way of Miranda's stomp and took her knife out, slashing at Miranda's leg and making her jump up. Miranda kicked F.M.'s knife away after she jumped up, leaving F.M. with enough time to get back up and continue fighting. She and Miranda lunged at each other again with F.M. landing a swift punch on her before Miranda punched her back in the gut. Miranda then punched her to the ground, and she regained her balance and backflipped for her knife. After picking it back up, she put it away to save it for when she had an opening.
F.M. jumped up to the dome again and grabbed onto the handle, making Miranda look up as F.M. taunted her. "Come on Miranda! Is changing battle tactics against your ideals too!? Or to bigots not know how to climb!" Miranda jumped up to prove F.M. wrong as she climbed up, and F.M. used this to kick Miranda in the face. Miranda still managed to catch the bar however, and she used her longer legs to kick at F.M. from farther away. F.M. blocked the first kick with her good leg just in case.
F.M. continued to block Miranda's kicks with her good leg and her left arm, using her right arm to try and keep herself up. She wished she could still use her left leg, but she hasn't let that setback stop her yet. She had to think of something fast though, because she couldn't hold on forever with just one arm. 'Come on, think of something. Your two free limbs can't hold of Miranda forever.' Miranda got tired of waiting and aimed a super powerful kick at F.M., who grabbed her leg with her free paw and then with the one she was using to hold on.
F.M. then bit Miranda's leg, making her howl in pain before she started kicking at F.M. with her free leg. F.M. didn't let this make her let go, and she continued taking all of the hits she could as she kept biting down on Miranda's leg. With kick after kick, she bit down harder, refusing to let go before she got what she was trying to accomplish. She managed to bite down hard enough to make Miranda stop kicking her, which gave her enough time to lunge at her from her leg.
F.M. elbowed Miranda in the chest and then grabbed onto her chest, headbutting her super hard and making her let go of the dome. This made Miranda start falling, and F.M. gave her a wink and stuck her tongue out before jumping off of Miranda just in time. She also took her knife out, deciding to throw it downward as Miranda landed on her back.
The knife scratched Miranda's right leg, making her scream out in pain as F.M. frontflipped for her knife after landing on the ground. She managed to grab her knife, and as Miranda got up, she felt pain in her leg. Visible blood was shown, but not to the same extent of her paw. She was still quick to complain about what F.M. did. "Gah! You gender confused deviant! Going for limb destruction is playing dirty!"
"You're one to talk!" F.M. called back, pointing out Miranda's hypocrisy as she pointed to her wounded leg. "And if it really bothers you so much, then you should've called me out after I shot your left paw!"
"I'll call out your actions when I want to!" Miranda shouted, charging at F.M., who back flipped as she readied herself for Miranda's attack. Miranda attempted to punch her, but F.M. jumped at her and dodged it just in time. She head butted Miranda right on her face, making her start to bleed a little from her nose as F.M. then landed another punch on her to send her back further. F.M. landed on the ground and lunged at Miranda after taking her knife out, only for Miranda to kick her to the side while holding her nose, causing F.M. to stumble again.
F.M. caught herself by stabbing the ground with her knife and got back up to continue fighting as Miranda prepared her next attack. F.M. stayed down on her good knee and right front paw, knowing that she wouldn't be able to balance on her right hind leg forever. As she and Miranda caught their breath, F.M. couldn't help calling out Miranda's sudden change in tactic. "Funny. You've been charging me down every chance you get this entire fight. Guess you realized it wasn't working."
Miranda gazed at F.M.'s arms and came to a conclusion on what to do next. "In a sense, yes." Miranda charged at F.M., who observed her movements and front flipped as soon as she was close enough. While she was able to kick her chest however, Miranda used this to her advantage and grabbed F.M.'s leg. She slammed the Dalmatian into the ground, making her yelp in pain as Miranda then pinned her to the ground.
F.M. squirmed as Miranda grabbed her left arm, leading to F.M. realizing what she was trying to do. "Smart call, but it's not gonna work!"
Miranda then started pulling F.M.'s arm behind her back, making her shout in pain once it started really hurting. Miranda's cold grin showed just how much she was enjoying her pain. "It's working quite well from my perspective." F.M. tried to keep herself from shouting too much, which was incredibly hard with how Miranda was hurting her. Miranda was still bleeding from the scratch she got on her right leg, but she ignored the pain to continue giving F.M. as much torment as she could muster. That included verbal assaults. "This is where you failed Flare."
F.M. continued squirming, slamming the ground with her other paw as Miranda attempted to dislocate her arm even more while fueling her with her beliefs. "You thought pretending to be someone else would make you happy. You're doing nothing more than living a lie that will never be a reality!" F.M. started to get angrier as Miranda insulted her gender identity. "You think you have a choice in any of this?! In who you are?! In who you grow up to me?!"
"There's ALWAYS a choice!" F.M. shouted, enraging Miranda even more. She turned F.M.'s arm even more as F.M. backed up her statement. "You didn't become a terrible person overnight! Charm wasn't born evil! And Coral wasn't given a prophecy into helping us stop you!" Miranda tried to contain herself, knowing that ripping F.M.'s arm off would make the process faster than she wanted. Still, her expression showed how much F.M.'s words were angering her. "The difference between you and them... is that they realized they could make better choices in life!"
"SHUT UP!"
SNAP
And with that, a howl left F.M.'s mouth, and it could be heard all the way back in Adventure Bay. Marshall was horrified, but knew he shouldn't get up until his burns were healed. Luckily, Ryder was there to make sure it happened efficiently. Outside, Zuma was trying to get in, finding himself unable to do so thanks to the door's lock. "Dawn it! Why won't this stupid thing open!?"
"Give it up Labrador! It's designed to stay locked until one of us dies!" Miranda informed Zuma, who watched in horror, helpless to do anything as he watched his friend be tortured right in front of him. Miranda continued to berate F.M., who noticed blood coming from her right leg. "YOU KEEP ACTING LIKE THE CHOICES THEY MADE DON'T MATTER BECAUSE THEY WANT TO CHANGE! THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS FLARE! THERE'S NO TURNING BACK FOR THEM! THEY WILL NEVER HAVE A CHANCE AT-"
"THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS!" F.M. roared before kicking Miranda's leg with a claw from her hind paw. This made her stop holding F.M. down and let go of her, which gave F.M. the time she needed to spin around and kick her as soon as she shouted in pain. She kicked her off and got back up as Miranda fell to her back. When Miranda looked at her injured leg, she glared at F.M., who had some choice words as she held her left arm. "Between my arm breaking and your whining... I can't tell what I was hurt by more!"
Miranda could now only use her right paw and her left leg, and F.M. could only use her left leg, and her right paw. Miranda's predicament didn't stop her from calling out F.M. once again about how her beliefs were 'wrong'. "I was merely speaking the truth Flare! You don't just wake up one day and become a good person!"
"You're right! You don't! But that doesn't mean you can't try!" F.M. shot back, leaving Miranda to prepare her next strike while keeping her wounded limbs in mind. F.M. did the same, keeping her knife and gun safe as she shared her words of advice on changing to Miranda. "One act of kindness, shows who you can be. But consistent kindness, shows who you are?"
Miranda laughed at how stupid that sounded to her before insulting it herself. "What's that, an omen to your deceased family!? Will it's terrible."
F.M. smiled and laughed a bit, admitting that there wasn't any hidden depth behind her words. "It's not an omen Miranda. I started saying it because I wanted something to say to those who try to change." Miranda was unfazed as F.M. explained more about what her words meant. "You're right. Change doesn't just happen to you, and it's there. It's a choice you have to make. One that you have to stand by." F.M. smiled when thinking about her changed friends. "My dad, Claw, Charm, and Coral all made that choice." And she scowled when she glared at Miranda.
"You didn't."
Miranda started limping over to F.M., who front flipped over to her with her good paw and good leg. Once she did, the two of them started punching at each other, limping on their broken legs as they tried to use their only working arms to give themselves the upper hand. F.M. was able to land a punch on Miranda's left leg, only for Miranda to punch her across the face. This made her stumble a bit, but she still fought, regaining her balance quickly to do so. She aimed a kick at Miranda, hitting her in the shin and making her fall down.
F.M. then started punching Miranda across the face, landing ten swift slap attacks in quick succession with her working paw. Miranda caught her paw, only for F.M. to use that to jump and headbutt her face. She headbutted right back, and the two collided with F.M. then using her good leg to kick Miranda on her side. As soon as she did, Miranda saw F.M.'s knife and went for it, only for F.M. to grab her paw as soon as she did. Miranda took a chance right then and kneed her back.
After pounding F.M. into the ground with her good paw, Miranda went for the knife again, only for F.M. to roll away at just the right time. She then rolled back up and evaded Miranda's kick, cartwheeling away from her and making sure to keep her knife away from her. Miranda limped over to her, and F.M. front flipped over to her to take advantage of her much weaker agility skill. F.M. saw Miranda's punch, psyching her out by using her teeth to grab her paw. It didn't hurt, but that was because F.M. instantly let go and kicked Miranda in the stomach after spinning once.
Miranda coughed a bit of blood upon impact, giving F.M. enough time to backflip and kick her chin. Once she landed however, Miranda ducked under her spinning kick and reached for her knife. F.M. tried to grab it, but Miranda barely managed to beat her to it. F.M. was stunned when this happened, and Miranda used this to punch her towards the ground as hard as she could. She tumbled to a spot on the right of the arena, and Miranda quickly limped towards her.
F.M. tried to get up quickly, but Miranda's punch left her more fatigued now thanks to her current injuries. By the time she recovered, Miranda had already reached her, and she started pinning her down to prepare her finishing blows on F.M.. They would be slow, painful, and full of agony. F.M. wasn't about to give up, as she aimed a punch at Miranda, who caught her arm and went for her right leg. F.M. tried to kick her leg, only for Miranda to stab her and make her scream in pain again. This scream was more than enough to make Miranda smile.
Miranda started cutting down F.M.'s leg slowly, which made her scream in pain even harder. And when she took her gun out, Miranda swatted it towards the middle of the arena after letting go of the knife. Miranda then saw that F.M.'s remaining arm would be an issue, even with two broken legs. Despite F.M.'s state, she wasn't gonna let Miranda finish immobilizing her. When Miranda took the knife out and aimed it for F.M.'s arm, she was ready, and she grabbed the knife on it's blunt side.
Both Canines only had one paw to work with, and F.M. had to think fast, since the knife was coming towards her. Thinking quickly, she noticed Miranda's good leg and allowed Miranda to lower the knife just a little more. Miranda taunted her as she saw her arm close to being stabbed in this moment. "Give it up Flare! Very soon, you'll be in the same blood bathing fire pit as your parents!"
F.M. gave a confident grin as she told Miranda that wouldn't be the case. "I wouldn't bet on it!" F.M. used the last of her strength to push the knife away and headbutt Miranda after grabbing her chest. She then grabbed the knife and went for Miranda's leg, stabbing her right in the hind paw and then her thigh. Miranda howled in pain before F.M. put the knife away and clenched her fist for a super powerful punch. "But I WOULD bet on this!" She let go of Miranda and punched her in the face as hard as she could, sending her flying to the other side of the dome.
F.M. fell to her side after punching Miranda, and once she did, both Canines lied there, catching their breath from how much their injuries were kicking in. F.M. looked around for a way to stop Miranda, refusing to let anything keep her from ending her reign of terror. She noticed her gun in the middle of the arena, and despite her bleeding leg, she had to use her only chance. Miranda noticed the gun as well and realized that she had to get to it in order to end this battle on her own terms.
F.M. and Miranda started crawling over to the gun. As slow as they were, they both showed their desire to come out the victor all too clearly. With every move they made with their one arm that still worked, they moved closer, and closer, and closer to the gun. F.M. started thinking about everyone as she moved closer. Marshall, Snow, Chase, Zuma, Rocky, Skye, Ryder, Richie, Sunshine, Everest, Claw, Charm, Sid, Arrby, Coral, Moby, and everyone in Adventure Bay, along with everyone who joined in the fight. They all motivated her to keep moving.
Miranda had almost reached the gun, but as she did, F.M. put her paw it, threatening Miranda as soon as she glared at her. "You try to take this gun, I'll shoot you in an instant."
"As if I'd be that stupid." F.M. coughed a bit of blood, showing that she'd taken a massive beating from the fight, just like Miranda did. "At this point, all I can do is outlast you."
"That's not gonna happen." F.M. informed Miranda, who started contemplating where she went wrong. F.M. was about to tell her all of that and more as soon as she started talking. "You wanna know what your problem is Miranda?" Miranda glared at F.M., who showed no fear as she dug into the kind of person Miranda was. "You like to think of yourself as the victim; when in reality, you've become as psychotic as the soldier who killed your husband."
As angry as the mention of Tucker was, F.M. was far from done. Not that Miranda could lunge at her anyway. "You're right about one thing. My dad coming to Twin Flame Island to fulfill a mission for Slash is what eventually led to Tucker's death. What you get wrong though, is how he reacted after he saw the consequences of his actions." F.M. used the remaining strength in her arm to hold herself up and look at Miranda directly. "My dad spent ten years protecting Twin Flame Island, to help everyone who lives there be as happy as he was when he started a family. And he chose to save my mother, and me, from the spell you tried to kill us both with."
Miranda was very tempted to growl at F.M., but she wanted to save all of her strength for after she was done. "He wasn't perfect. And he did some bad things himself to support himself and uncle Pongo. Everyone's capable of doing bad things." F.M.'s next words were in relation to Miranda herself. "You didn't have to become this psychopath, or long for revenge against my family. You could've gotten help. Moved on. Found a way to become happy again. But you threw it all away for fake joy that led to where you are now."
"WHAT'S YOUR POINT!?" Miranda shouted, having enough of F.M.'s words. "God, I hate you so much! Everything about you is so annoying!"
"JUST SHUT UP, OKAY!?" F.M. shouted back, leaving Miranda to stop yelling, and F.M. lowered her voice to normal level to conserve energy. "What you told me before you warned us about your assault said it all. You didn't care about anything other than getting back at my dad for actions he did all he could to atone for." F.M.'s blood started to boil as she pointed out exactly what Miranda becoming evil was caused by. "Seeking out revenge on my family's name is a choice that you made!"
F.M. had some final words for Miranda, wanting to see if she could show some humanity now that she was close to death. "How does it feel Miranda? Knowing that everything you worked for was in vain." Miranda was caught off guard by that question, and F.M. explained why she asked it. "You killed my dad, and were partially responsible for the death of my mother. And you hurt all of the Mer-Pups, me and my siblings, and so many more on your pathetic quest for vengeance. How do you feel about your past knowing that you failed after all this time!?"
Miranda didn't even have to think about that before smiling. This sickened F.M. almost as much as Miranda's laughter right after that did. Her response disgusted her the most out of everything. "I feel amazing." F.M. was tempted to growl in anger, but contained herself to let Miranda speak. She knew she didn't owe her anything, but she was too compassionate to deny Miranda her final words. "I got to see other Canines... feel as much pain as I felt when I lost my dear Tucker."
"You're sick in the head!" F.M. shouted, absolutely appalled by Miranda's nonexistent remorse. "If Tucker were here right now, he'd despite what you became!"
"You don't know him like I did! He would understand everything!" Miranda shouted back, getting back to her final words while adding to what she just said. "Tucker always knew how to make me happy. He was all I needed. If you knew everything I lost beforehand, you'd know why I didn't want anything else. At least... I thought I didn't." F.M. scoffed as Miranda continued, having little, if any, sympathy for her after everything she'd seen from her. What Miranda said next surprised her. "I want to thank you."
F.M. glared at Miranda, who explained what she was thanking F.M. for. "You helped me see the only other thing I wanted. The only thing on my mind, aside from revenge for Tucker." What that was infuriated F.M. even further. "I wanted to see other Canines feel my pain. The pain of loss, grief, and anguish."
F.M. started speaking about how flawed Miranda's words there were, knowing just how wrong she really was. "It's how you deal with the pain that matters most Miranda." Miranda rolled her eyes, just wanting F.M. to stop talking. "Pain doesn't make you stronger; it just hurts you. What makes you stronger is being able to grow from your pain. And like I told you before; that's the main thing that separates us. You never get over the pain of loss. But unlike you, I was able to move on. And because of that, I can keep doing everything I can to inspire happiness in everyone!"
"You really don't know when to shut up." Miranda shot at F.M., who wasn't fazed one bit. She knew there was a lot chance she'd be able to help Miranda see where she went wrong. But it didn't hurt to try. Her compassion was both a blessing, and a curse. Ironically, Miranda wasn't finished yet. "You think change is so good? Then think about how you'll change after this." F.M. didn't react. She knew Miranda was just trying to get under her skin, despite there being some truth in her words. "Think long and hard Flare."
F.M. started using the last of her strength to call Miranda out one final time for consistently dead naming her. During this, she declared what she would now go by. "Flare died a long time ago. My name... is Wave." Then, she finally aimed her gun at Miranda, who saw the spirits of Blaze and Wave standing right beside her sharing her determination. "Goodbye Miranda." Miranda simply glared at Wave, holding nothing but hatred and anger inside of herself in that moment. And her final words, along with the tone in her voice, showed that all too well for anyone to ignore.
"I'll see you in hell."
And with that, Wave shot Miranda in the head, killing her instantly. As soon as she did, the door to the dome unlocked, and Zuma kicked it open and rushed over to Wave. "F.M.!" Wave simply looked at Miranda's body and thought about what else could've happened. If she hadn't reached the gun in time... that would've been her. Miranda most likely would've died soon after anyway, but she still would've gone with her. Once Zuma came over to her, she started patching up her bleeding leg with some bandages he brought. "Hold on buddy! I got you!"
Wave continued to look at Miranda's body, which reminded her of something else. She smiled when looking at Zuma while showing gratitude for patching up her leg. "Thank you Zuma." Zuma nodded in response, helping Wave up while doing his best to avoid hurting her. Wave then asked the question that entered her mind. "Do you know if our friends are okay?"
"I'll be calling Wyder as soon as we get in the hovercwaft. He can tell us then." Zuma explained as he walked off with Wave, who was barely holding on with her right arm. As Zuma continued to leave the dome, he couldn't help smiling at Wave's compassion. "Thwee years later, and you're still concewned about the others. Even at a time like this."
Wave laughed a bit, coughing a bit, which worried Zuma. But she retained her smile as she replied. "I'm sure you would be too."
"Of course." Zuma smiled again as he and Wave reached the door of the dome. He opened it up and helped carry her down the steps as carefully as he could. Zuma then placed Wave into the passenger's seat of his hovercraft before making a call to Ryder. As soon as he did, he got his hovercraft started and made a course for Adventure Bay. "Wyder! We're on our way back! F.M. won, but she took a lot of damage duwing the battle! How are you guys doing!?"
"Not as hot as I'd like Zuma. Some of the pups got hurt in the battle, and Marshall even came back with electric wounds all over his body." Ryder explained somberly, making Wave even more concerned about her brother than she already was. "On top of that, most of the soldiers who joined us died in the battle. Some survived from each species, but very few in total." F.M. choked after hearing that, and Zuma almost did himself. The fact that so many of their friends died tore them up inside. "We'll start patching up F.M. as soon as we get back."
"Copy that. I'll get back as soon as I can!" Zuma assured Ryder, nudging Wave to help her stay awake as soon as she hung up. "Don't fall asleep on me yet F.M.."
"Wasn't planning on it." Wave assured Zuma, deciding to save revealing her new chosen name for when everyone was present. She also knew the others would need time to recover, so she would give it some time after everyone started getting patched up from the battle. For now, she would focus on making sure she got better, along with making sure that everyone else who was wounded in the fight was patched up accordingly. Not that she doubted anything the pups could do that is.
One unexpected desire came to her mind, and she decided to share it with Zuma before they got back. "One more thing Zuma."
Zuma put his hovercraft on auto-drive and set it for Adventure Bay so he could listen to Wave. He knew that after that battle, it had to be something important. "What is it F.M.?" F.M. thought about how to start with this request. She knew it would sound weird, but she also knew it was something she wanted to do.
To be continued.
The title Paw Patrol X came onto the screen with the words Paw Patrol linked in blue with red outlines as Wave (F.M. to be specific) then spoke over the words that came underneath it as an instrumental version of the main theme played. "Just one more chapter to wrap up the season! Next time, the season four epilogue chapter: The Choices We Make!"
