Courage

This isn't the first time Taylor's eaten warmed-up pizza at nine-thirty. It's four cheese, which is one of her favourites. She eats slowly so as not to feel sick or overly-energised; actually, she's not sure she's been eating properly at all lately. But that doesn't matter right now.

And she is hungry.

Splinter clears his throat softly. "When you've finished eating, Leo would like to speak to you."

Taylor nods. Splinter touches her shoulder once and leaves her alone.

She waits a few moments after finishing the pizza, taking several deep breaths to remain calm. Does she wait, or does she go to find him? Her heart's starting to pound again, but not so hard as it has done.

Slowly, she gets up and leaves the kitchen, looking around for Leonardo. He's sitting outside his room, polishing his katana. The metal gleams in the half-light.

Taylor stays where she is for a moment, then gathers her courage and goes over to him.

"Splinter said you wanted to see me."
