Author's Note: Just a quick thing, some of the ghosts are also in a swap position. Again, just some ideas I had when making this fanfic
The week following Sam's powers were full of surprises. With the revelation of being half-ghost, half-human, the group has decided to keep it a secret from everyone. Given the fact that ghosts are seen as "evil spirits" she didn't want to attract that kind of attention, especially from her parents. So as such, she hid it from everyone.
Sam had been practising them for a bit. She has so far only really had problems staying visible for periods of time, or accidentally slipping through the floors. There were times when she accidentally turned by accident, but those were not really that big of an issue now.
Sam has used them for her own benefit every now and then though. Particularly towards people he didn't like.
She was seen as the unpopular person at school, due to her constant acts of rebellion. From throwing protests towards things like changing the menu to be ultra-recyclo vegan, to not being afraid to speak up about stereotypes, she had a bit of a reputation at school.
Though Danny had it worse.
He was actively bullied any chance he got. Particularly by a popular kid, Dash. He was the head of the football team, and just enjoyed picking on kids that were weaker than him, including Danny. That already irked Sam the wrong way, but the fact that he constantly picks on her best friend, that's what made her truly hate him.
Though, she wasn't above using her powers to get a little bit of revenge. From going invisible to pull some kids out of their locker, including Danny at least four times this week, to just screwing with some of them to get a laugh.
Then came the fifth time that Danny was pulled into a locker.
Sam had just pulled him out.
"Thanks Sam," Danny said.
"Your welcome," Sam said, as she became visible again, "I gotta ask though… Why don't you stand up for yourself? I mean, you're very smart and capable. Hell, just telling off to Mr. Lancer would be more effective."
"I did, once," Danny said, "At Grade two, I tried to get more attention towards it, but it only made me look like a snitch, and I was picked on more. I try to avoid conflict as much as possible, as it just feels like it makes things worse."
"But if you don't do something, this will just keep getting worse," Sam said.
Danny just said, "I just… I don't want anyone to get hurt because of me."
Danny then left, as they continued on school. That's when she witnessed another one of Dash's bullying.
"Hey there Fent-nerd," Dash laughed.
"Again Dash," Danny said, "You normally don't really do it twice in one day."
"Well, since next week will be half term," Dash said, "I decided to do a bit more for one last goodbye before this."
And with that, Dash stuffed Danny in his own locker. Sam witnessed it, and snapped.
"Sorry Danny, but this was one time too many a long time ago," Sam said to herself.
She then texted Tucker.
"I may need some help," Sam said, "You still talk with Ember?"
(Meanwhile)
'Oh great,' Danny thought to myself, 'Jazz is probably waiting for me outside. I'll just wait for Sam. Hopefully, she notices.'
Danny waited for about a minute before noting to himself, 'Man, has my locker been this smelly.'
That's when he accidentally bumped his elbow into something. An old, dusty mirror.
"Huh, this is weird," Danny said, "I didn't notice this here. Then again, it was behind my maths textbooks."
Suddenly, the mirror started to glow.
"What the," Danny said, "AAAAHHHH!"
Sam heard the scream outside.
"Danny," Sam said, as she ran towards the locker door. She then opened it quickly.
"Danny, are you okay," Sam asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Danny said, feeling a bit different, as he spoke in a bit more of a nasally tone, "How are you?"
"I'm… fine," Sam asked, dumb-founded, as she wasn't hurt, "Are you okay?"
"Good, good," Danny said, "Well, I better go, me Danny Fenton, go home."
Sam looked at Danny suspiciously, but noted nothing. Closing the locker without hearing a voice, screaming to her.
(Later)
That evening, Ember was busy tuning her guitar. That was when her phone rang. It was Tucker.
Ember and Tucker were friends, but when they're passions went in opposite directions, with Ember wanting to make it big one day as a huge rock star, whereas Tucker wanted to just keep it simple, and have a somewhat lax life, the two went their separate ways.
Ember soon found herself at the top of the food chain, next to people like Dash and Paulina. However, she still had some of her morals, and didn't compromise them. It was made pretty clear that Dash had a crush on her, which, while she found it cute, she just wasn't that interested in him, and admitted it.
She answered.
"Hello Tucker, what is it," Ember said.
"Are you still somewhat in touch with Dash," Tucker asked.
"Yeah," Ember replied.
"Well, we need your help," Tucker said.
"With what," Ember asked.
Ember then heard what seemed like talking on the other side of the phone.
"We just need help getting payback," Tucker said, "We just need you to lure him to 7th Street Avenue."
"You mean the empty house over the block," Ember asked.
"Yeah," Tucker replied.
"What's in it for me," Ember asked.
"I'll try and get you some new and improved speakers for you," Tucker said.
"Deal," Ember said, "What do you want me to do?"
(At the empty house)
Dash had just arrived at a mysterious house. He received a weird message from Ember, saying that she was in trouble. She said that she was in trouble at the empty house on 7th street.
Dash arrived near night.
"This was the place," Dash said, "She sounded like she was in distress. Maybe this is my chance to finally impress her."
Dash headed into the house. He felt a chill go down him as he entered, as the room was dark, and creepy. There were random crates, combined with a chandeleur, with what looked to be haunted mirrors.
"Hello, Ember," Dash said.
He then thought he heard something move.
"Who's there," Dash asked, as he nervously backed in a corner, next to a box of crates.
"I'm warning you," Dash said.
As he did, he felt the crates behind him move. The started to levitate, seemingly on thin air, before being launched near, barely missing him by a scratch. Another crate did the same, as it just missed him too.
"O-okay, c-come out who-whoever you are," Dash said.
The response to that was laughter.
"T-this isn't funny," Dash said.
"It is to me," a raspy voice replied.
Dash started to feel his hair standing up. His teeth chattered, as his legs felt like jelly. All he can do is stutter in fear.
"LEAVE ME ALONE," he yelled.
"Why, you wouldn't leave those kids alone, why should I do the same to you," it asked.
"W-what are you," Dash asked.
The figure then revealed themself. It looked like a girl, but she was glowing green. She had glowing green eyes, white hair, no legs, a green and white jumpsuit, and a green aura.
There was only one thing that Dash was reminded of when the figure moved towards him.
"Boo," she said softly.
"A-A-A GHOST," Dash screamed, as he ran out of the building, screaming like a baby, as Sam laughed after he left.
"Oh, man, tell me you got that," Sam said to Tucker, who was right in the background.
"Full footage," Tucker said, "What do you want with it?"
"Just, memories," Sam said.
(Later)
Sam, Tucker, and Danny were watching the clip of Dash being haunted. Tucker couldn't help but laugh, while Sam also smiled at Dash's suffering. The only one who wasn't happy was Danny.
"I don't get it," Danny said, "I mean, I know this guy is a big bully, but, aren't we being a little bit worse. I mean, I think we actually scared him."
"Dude, I tried to talk him down of hurting these guys when we were in a group with each other," Tucker said, "This is a much better way."
"But… aren't we just being as bad as them," Danny said.
"Geez dude, since when were you sympathetic towards Dash," Sam asked, "He's been bullying you your entire life. In my opinion, he's getting what he deserves."
Sam and Tucker then left the room after being called down by their parents. Danny meanwhile, is just looking at the footage.
"Yeah… and you will too," he said to himself.
(The next day)
Sam and Tucker noticed something. No kids being stuffed into lockers, no worrying about Danny being verbally abused, and best of all, no Dash.
"Man, it sure feels peaceful here," Sam said.
"Yeah, too peaceful," Tucker said, a bit moodily.
"Ok, Mr. Goth, lighten up," Sam said, "I bet we scared him out of his socks."
"Ahem."
A voice behind them called them. It was Ember.
"Alright, what did you guys do," Ember asked.
"What are you talking about," Sam asked.
"You asked me to lure Dash into a prank, and then, he's just not here today," Ember explained, "What did you do?"
Sam and Tucker were conflicted on what to do. They couldn't exactly say what they did, especially since it will reveal their secret. But on the other hand, they can't exactly try to hide it.
Thankfully, Danny came in.
"Hey, Tucker," Danny said awkwardly, "Great prank you guys pulled on Dash yesterday."
"Oh, so now you're fine with it," Sam said, "Last night, you were all, "Aren't we being a little bit too cruel to him."
"Well, I changed my mind," Danny said, "In fact, I want to talk about it. Come on, I know a place of privacy."
Danny moved Tucker towards the door, as Sam tried to follow, only to be grabbed by Ember.
"Oh no, don't think you can just change the conversation," Ember said, as she grabbed Sam.
She then pulled Sam to her, near Danny's locker.
"About what Danny said earlier," Ember asked, "What exactly happened?"
Sam sighed. I guess she deserves to know the truth.
"You promise you won't tell," Sam asked.
"Promise, sister," Ember replied.
"Don't ever call me that again," Sam said, as she got her phone out, showing the recording of her haunting Dash. She then paused to show herself in ghost form.
"That's you," Ember said, "Dude, what happened to you?"
"Not important," Sam said.
"It seemed like you were actually torturing him," Ember noted.
"Oh man, not you too," Sam moaned.
"Hey, look," Ember said, "I don't like Flash either, especially since he is really creepy around me, but even he doesn't deserve that much. But are you really being any better? I mean, if I had powers like those, I wouldn't be using them to hurt people."
"What would you do," Sam asked.
"Probably make myself known across the world as a really cool rock star," Ember admitted, leaving Sam in shock, "What, I have my own goals. But, let's be honest, out of you three, I'd honestly expect you to use this power appropriately."
Sam stood there, not really wanting to admit Ember's right, or the fact that Danny was also right. She hated admitting being in the wrong, but this time, she felt like it was warranted.
That's when they heard a voice.
"Hello, somebody, anybody!"
"Do you hear that," Ember asked.
"It's coming from Danny's locker," Sam said.
Sam then went intangible, as Ember tried to hide her.
"Hello," Sam asked, "anyone here?"
"Sam!"
Sam then looked and saw a figure with a dork like glasses, grey transparent skin, and blue eyes.
"Who are you," Sam asked, "And how do you know my name?"
"Sam, it's me, Danny," the figure said.
"Yeah, prove it," Sam said.
"Remember that gerbil you had me and Tucker look after," he said, "Well, I may have lied on it being Tucker was the one who lost it. I accidentally dropped the case."
"What," Sam yelled, "I swear Danny, when I get my hands on you, I'll… wait, Danny?"
"Yep," Danny said.
"I don't get it, why aren't you… you," Sam asked, "And who is the person we've been following, hell, what even is that body?"
"Ok, so fun history lesson," Danny said, "Apparently, the locker I have belongs to a kid named Sidney Pointdexter. He was picked on, and bullied at school and developed a hatred for bullies. One day, he died from oxygen deprivation in this locker, and haunted this mirror, and haunts anyone who bullies anyone. We accidentally swapped spirits, and now, I'm trapped in this torture simulator of what seems to be Pointdexters last moments of life.
"And he is in your body," Sam said.
"Yeah," Danny said, "And the only way back is if his spirit is sealed back into the mirror."
"Well then, come on, I think I saw Tucker with him," Sam said, as she attempted to pull Danny out, only for the mirror to just launch her out.
"DANNY," Sam said, as she went back into the locker.
"Looks like the mirror isn't going anywhere," Danny said.
"Then we'll just have to bring him to the mirror," Sam replied.
Sam then left as she pulled Ember.
"Hey, where are we going," Ember asked.
"To get Danny," Sam said.
(Meanwhile)
Tucker and "Danny" were outside of school, with "Danny" dragging Tucker to a familiar location.
"Where are we going dude," Tucker asked, "We shouldn't be out here."
"We'll just be here for a bit, and then come right back," "Danny" said, as they arrived at the abandoned warehouse.
"Wait, isn't this where we spooked Dash," Tucker said, "Why are we here?"
"Yes, it is," "Danny" replied, "And now… what is it that you said? You'll get what is yours?"
"No," Tucker said.
"Huh, well that sounded cooler in my head," "Danny" said, as he then started to fly, levitating boxes, and throwing them at Tucker.
"Dude, what the…" Tucker exclaimed, "What are you doing man? How are you doing this?"
"Huh, guess my ghost powers still work even while possessing this body," "Danny" said.
"Possessing… wait, you're not Danny," Tucker said.
"No, I am not," "Danny" replied, "And now, all I want to do is make sure you don't hurt anyone again."
He then levitated a crate, and launched it at Tucker, who ducked behind a table.
"What are you talking about," Tucker said.
"All my life, I've been bullied," "Danny" said, "And it cost me my life. Now, I don't know whether it's by chance, or by complete accident, I have another chance at it. And I want to start by making sure bullies like you, will never hurt anyone again!"
"I'm the bully," Tucker said, "You may have me confused with Dash."
"Oh, I know your "friend"," 'Danny' said, "And while he may not be innocent… you're even worse."
Danny then launched another crate. Only for someone to grab it. It was Sam, now in her ghost form, holding it, before dropping it. Ember then came, and helped pull Tucker away.
"You want to pick on someone, try me," Sam said, "Pointdexter."
"So, you figured it out," Pointdexter said, "Well, if that's the case, I guess I can start with you first, bully."
"Bully," Sam asked, as Pointdexter punched Sam through the roof.
"Yeah, that's right, bully," Pointdexter said, "I know how you were hurting that kid."
"Dude, I said it once, and I'll say it again, but Dash is the bully here," Sam said, "He's been tormenting kids ever since… I don't know, probably first grade."
"And that gives you a reason to scare him," Pointdexter asked.
"I…" Sam started.
"No," Pointdexter said, "I know about the type of ghost you are. You're a halfa, meaning you have the highest potential out of all of us to be more powerful than any ghost in the ghost zone, and yet, you use your powers to bully them."
"Oh yeah, and what's your excuse," Sam said.
"I'm not going to torture you," Pointdexter said, "Just release the video footage of you, and your friend to get you to out of here."
"You wouldn't," Sam said.
"I already can," Pointdexter said, as he pulled out Tucker's smartphone.
"And with one press, the world will see you as I do, a bully," Pointdexter said, terrifying Sam.
He then pressed it, only for him to accidentally press play.
"Oh wait, hang on, I think I pressed the wrong button, no," Pointdexter said, as he started fiddling with it, "No that's not it, ugh, how do you kids do this?"
"Please don't mess it up," Tucker said, "It's at this point the only thing that gives me any happiness."
As he did, Sam kicked him. They went back down.
"Wait," Pointdexter said, "You can't do this."
"Why shouldn't I," Sam asked.
"If you do, then you hurt your friend," Pointdexter said.
He was right. She didn't want to hurt Danny. She had to think fast to get Pointdexter out.
Then, an idea popped into her head.
"Hope this works," Sam said, as she went intangible, and went into Danny's body, attempting to pull Pointdexter out.
But as she did, something happened. She felt something. Something she never felt before. Fear. She felt every student attempting to shove her in a locker. Bullies left and right, picking on her, and her being unable to help. Nobody would help her, as the adults just stared and let it happen, and nobody stood up for her. All she can do is just sit there and be tortured.
"No, stop," Sam moaned at this nightmare.
"Get out," Pointdexter yelled, launching Sam out of Danny's body.
"Sam, are you okay," Tucker said, as he and Ember went to help her up.
But her only thoughts now are on Poindexter.
"I'm fine," she said, "But, while in there, I think I saw Pointdexter's life from his point of view. It's horrible, like a never ending torture chamber, and all everyone does is just either stare, make fun, or get involved in the beatings."
Sam then headed to Pointdexter.
"Is that how you feel," Sam asked.
"Why would you care, bully," Pointdexter asked.
"I'm not a bully," Sam said, before reflecting on her selfish use of her powers on Dash, scaring him, and possibly scaring him for life, "Or, at least, I wasn't trying too."
She then approached him, "Look, how about we make a deal, you give my friend back his body," she said, "I don't abide you using his body."
"I swear, it was an accident," Pointdexter said.
"And I'll leave those people alone," Sam said, "I won't use these powers to bully others anymore."
"Ok, deal," Pointdexter said, "But you also have to help me find a new home. I don't really like that mirror in the Ghost Zone."
"Oh, I think I know just the place," Sam said.
(The next day)
Everything seemingly went back to normal from there. Pointdexter gave Danny his body back, and now, everything seems to be alright.
"I still can't believe you told Ember," Tucker said, "How do you know she won't rat us out?"
"Oh, she won't," Sam said, "Outside of me, she's the only girl here with some common sense."
"What did you do with Pointdexter anyways," Danny asked.
"Oh, he's still here," Sam said, "I had him stay in the school attic. He promised to stay out of the way, except for any bullies."
She then demonstrated when Kwan, one of Dash's friends, stuffed a kid in a locker, only for Pointdexter to pull him out.
"It's going to feel weird having a ghost in the school," Danny said, "Especially one that possessed me."
"I don't know," Sam said, "He's a good kid, for being supposedly an evil spirit."
Sam then grabbed a sign from her locker.
"What's that," Tucker asked.
"A new protest I have planned," Sam said, "Should help with the bullies."
She then revealed that the sign said, "No bullying!"
Author's Note: I don't know if I gave justice to Pointdexter. I feel like I had trouble balancing out his sympathetic side with him still being this chapter's villain. I did have the idea of the lunch lady being the antagonist, but I decided that that was too similar to the first episode of Danny Phantom, and didn't want to do that.
Otherwise, this is a really long chapter. May take a bit for the next one, since I'm still making other fanfics, but otherwise, hope you enjoyed this chapter.
See you next time. ;),
