It was the morning of the next challenge and Lightning was returning from his morning run to find Dawn sadly sitting at the steps of the Screaming Beavers' cabin with her hands to her cheeks. "You still worried about hipster girl? Still am myself; especially since we are now down another teammate and we were already at a disadvantage already with how many we are down compared to them Hamsters." Lightning said as Dawn just continued looking depressed and not replying to Lightning's comment.
Their faces fell in confusion as they were frowning at Dawn's sad expression.
"Hipster girl... Is he talking about Zoey?" Bobby asked as their eyes widening and they became tense.
"Did something happen in the last 2 days before this episode..." Lincoln asked uneasily and they were terrified of the idea.
Dawn however had several squirrels coming near her and going onto her arm and saying something into her ears as she looked hopeful about what they were saying.
"The squirrels can help her find her..." Lana said looking optimistic as Lisa just silently scoffed with her arms folded. Still being stubborn in not accepting Dawn's abilities.
However there was Chris coming nearby with a megaphone that he used an airhorn into making everyone wake up and get out of bed.
"Rise and shine campers! Your challenge starts in a minute!" Chris said to the looks of disbelief on everyone.
"Everyone; I know that your all not exactly awake but I have been having my animal friends on the island keep an eye out and the squirrels have spotted a figure going about the island the past few days that could be Zoey!" Dawn was telling everyone as they looked hopeful.
"If it is then what has she been doing?" DJ questioned still looking relieved as Dawn looked worried.
"I am sure that she will be alright and she can tell us when we find her!" Lincoln said putting his arm around Dawn's shoulder assuringly as they smiled at eachother.
"...What happened..." Lynn Sr manage to ask as they were now more tense and Lily was close to crying and Rita had Luna hand her to her so that Lily could be soothed.
"Things would be much easier if someone with access to the cameras on the island can tell us!" yelled Gwen warningly glaring towards Chris.
"Oh yeah..." Luan said as they remembered about all of the cameras on the island for the show.
"That's for me to know and you all to possibly find out but for now it's time for your 20 kilometre run around the lake!" Chris said as they all blinked in disbelief but Lightning was grinning.
"Jerk..." muttered most in unison as their eyes widened at him bringing up the run.
"20 kilometres in the morning?" a lot asked in disbelief.
"Not that bad..." Lynn Jr scoffed as she got looks at that.
"Piece of cake; Lightning has been running around the island every morning since Lightning arrived!" Lightning bragged as he began starting. and Chris got his air horn to make everyone start their run faster.
"We really should probably start training you now Lincoln..." Lynn Jr told Lincoln seriously as he groaned hoping that they could talk her out of it later.
"What about breakfast..." moaned Ezekiel as he was starting to run but Chris was just grinning.
"It's amazing how quickly my opinion of the host has soured..." Lincoln muttered as they frowned at him.
"Hey sadist hosts helps the ratings but he does take it a little too far... Okay a lot..." Lori ended up saying.
Dawn was sighing sadly in the confessional in her lotus position; "my apologies but... The day after our last challenge Zoey ended up missing and despite how much we looked; we couldn't find her... Zoey if you can somehow watch this... I miss my best friend..." Dawn explained wiping away a tear.
They looked saddened at the screen with Lincoln, Leni, Lana and Lily taking it the worst.
"He is letting poor Dawn be worried for Zoey like this and won't do anything to assure her..." Leni asked feeling sorry for Dawn and outraged at Chris at the same time.
"Wait... Who was responsible for Tyler being in his position to be attacked by the bear... Do you think..." Lincoln asked uneasily getting an idea as their faces froze.
"She better not..." Lana swore as they took a moment to calm down.
Lightning was cheering as if he had won a race as he entered the mess hall and followed by the campers all looking tired; followed by Lincoln. "Wait what... How are you second behind Lightning?" Lightning asked in disbelief.
A lot of others blinked as well; most of all Lynn Jr.
"A lot of experience in running... Ten sisters..." Lincoln explained as Lightning blinked as more campers got in looking tired; including Dawn looking depressed as he went to comfort her.
Lincoln snickered a little as some of the sisters looked at him but Lincoln stopped as he saw Dawn.
"Oh... Lightning should have expected this from his mortal rival!" Lightning told him as Lincoln blinked at him as last in ended up being Lindsay.
"Wait... Did we win the challenge?" Courtney asked as the Killer Hamsters got excited and started cheering with Dawn managing to give Lincoln a smile as he embraced Gwen.
"The episode barely started so no dice..." Bobby brought up as they waited for what was next.
"Uh negatory; that wasn't the challenge!" Chris informed them as they all stared at him in more disbelief as he was in front of a curtain.
"Now who's hungry?" Chris asked as the curtain opened up revealing a table in front of a huge feast.
Their mouths were wide open at the feast.
"That looks amazing..." Lynn Sr said in jealousy.
Bobby then slapped himself to looks; "I don't want to think about if Abuela caught me reacting to this... Big... Delicious feast..." Bobby then expained to them as they took that in.
"Countless weeks of eating brown slob... I almost cried when I saw all that food..." Gwen said in the confessional.
"I remember what the food looked like in that first episode..." Lynn Sr muttered shaking his head and they cringed.
"Just about anything would be good after how long they spent seating whatever they served at this camp..." Lori then said.
"Not looking forward to the camp lunch..." Lincoln groaned.
"I will tell you that everyone going for the food; it actually beat out even the messiest meals that I ever had in my family." Lincoln said in the confessional looking quite confident in what he was saying.
"Really? Hard to believe..." Clyde said as he got looks. "All I am saying is that I have eaten over here enough times..." Clyde explained himself as there were the accepted looks from his explanation as they snickered.
After a huge gorgefest; just about everyone was full as well as moaning and groaning with Dawn flossing out bits of her vegetables that she had gotten; "Lightning eat like a king..." Lightning moaned.
"Best meal ever aye..." Ezekiel said finishing his drumstick.
"I am almost jealous bro..." Luna said as the Louds looked envious at how well they had fed.
Lincoln thought that he should look forward to that day.
"Okay campers; time for part 2 of your challenge!" Chris said through his megaphone as they all just looked at him. "It's time for the awake-a-thon! The team with the last one awake wins!" Chris explained as they just stared at him.
They stared silently at this mouth wide open.
"The running and the huge gorge fest... I kind of admire the evil scheming..." Lincoln forced himself to admit.
"That is literally evil..." Lori muttered out.
"So your 20K run and the eating frenzy were part of your evil plan to make it harder for us to stay awake?" Gwen asked and Chris confirmed it with Gwen admitting that he was good. Chris then had them move out.
Chris was smirking in the confessional; "Can you all keep a secret? I was actually saving this challenge for when both teams have merged and it's every camper for themselves but... The day after the last challenge; all the campers did something that REALLY got on my nerves so this is kind of a punishment." Chris explained with a laugh.
If possible their mouths were even open wider.
"What could you all have POSSIBLY done to warrant being punished like that?" Lynn Sr all but screamed.
"I have no idea..." Lincoln muttered out.
"Yep... This host is an utter as... Jerkwad..." Luan then said and quickly corrected herself when she saw her parents about to give her scolding looks.
At the campfire pit the clock showed that they were awake for 12 hours as the campers were sitting down with Chris saying that they were all still wide awake. They looked all sleepy with even the most awake campers having bags in their eyes. Lightning was doing star jumps with an unnerving looking smile and look in his eyes.
They cringed at the look of all of this; "Lisa... How long is it safe to stay awake for..." Lincoln asked his second youngest sister.
"Well male sibling unit; for an average 16 year old as you will be... I am sure that this show will force you all to be awake for far longer than the safe amount." Lisa then answered and no one looked happy with that answer.
Gwen muttered about how boring this all was; "Come on everyone; let's try and stay awake by talking to eachother!" Lincoln said trying to be encouraging to the Killer Hamsters. "Well... Anyone want to bring up a subject?" Lincoln asked as Cody looked at him.
"Well... At leas you are trying Lincoln... Can't imagine that it will be easy though..." Stella then told him as there were nods.
"Well I am kind of glad that we dumped Owen; we may not have been able to get much with him. Plus now I don't have to worry about this bet that I made with him with the loser having to do our laundry for the rest of our time here." Cody decided to say as they looked at him.
"What was the bet?" Sadie asked as Cody looked to Gwen.
"Probably something stupid like..." Lynn Jr started to say as most looked interested.
"I bet that I could get Gwen to give me her bra..." Cody explained and they all looked at him with him gulping and a strong glare from Gwen.
"WHAT?" the older females all screamed out outraged along with Lynn Sr and Bobby.
"I thought he was just a wannabe ladies man but this..." Luna muttered out.
"He is dead... Worse than Ezekiel in my mind... There I said it..." snapped Lori.
"Bra?" Lincoln asked confused along with Clyde as the younger girls were confused to.
"Something that women wears when they are older..." Bobby quietly explained to them.
"Keep going dead man walking!" Gwen snapped at him but Lincoln got in front of her and got him to stand up.
"Should have just left him to his fate Lincoln..." Luna muttered out as the older sisters nodded at once.
"Come on Cody; I just thought of an idea that is sure to help you stay awake!" Lincoln said with a fake smile walking Cody with his arm around his shoulder.
"Why does that smile and tone of voice make me excited..." Leni asked as the older ones started to watch in glee.
"I am kind of scaring me..." Lincoln managed to admit.
"What are you doing Lindsay?" DJ asked Lindsay who standing on her head with her hands on the ground.
"Trying to get the blood rushing to my head." Lindsay explained as they then heard yelling and they looked towards the beach where there was Lincoln standing in the ocean dunking Cody's head in the water.
"Is she still faking being stupid?" Luan asked confused as they shrugged but then they saw what was going on with Lincoln and Cody. The older sisters started laughing and patting Lincoln on the back.
"That's great bro..." Luna managed to say out loud.
"He did have that coming..." Lori then told him.
"Should have put a crab down his pants as well..." Luan then told him.
Lincoln watched this and decided to enjoy himself as he remembered how immature Cody was being to him being kissed by Lindsay.
Hours later both teams were still up and Cody shivering but still sleepy but then there was Sadie who ended up falling asleep first. "Congratulations campers; you have made it to the 24 hour mark! Time to take it up a notch... Fairy tales!" Chris said showing a stack of books with Chef dressed as a pink sheep with a harp.
"24 hours?" the parents screamed at once in afraid.
"Now he is making this worse..." groaned Lori as they looked concerned.
"We will be alright after losing all this sleep... Right..." Lincoln practically pleaded.
"Oh; he's not serious!" Gwen ranted sitting next to Lincoln.
"I like fairy tales; whether it's the stories or the movies as long as they are done right..." Dawn said with a smile but sighed.
Everyone looked on in amusement as Lily laughed and clapped with Dawn's words.
Chris started reading slowly a boring story as Chef played the music and Cody ended up falling asleep next. However from the trees there was an arrow on fire that landed next to Lindsay causing her to topple over and be knocked out as she landed on the ground. Dawn blinked and looked to the trees but there was nothing up there.
They blinked and jumped at it. "I am all for Lindsay being targeted but what if that hit someone else... Plus if the fire caught on..." Lori asked as they frowned.
"Chris really is taking this too far..." Leni said as they nodded.
"This a joke McLean? You pull all of this on this challenge and now you try and kill us?" Lightning demanded as they all glared at him with the Screaming Beavers too tired to try and check on Lindsay but Chris and Chef were stunned as well.
"...I promise you that we had nothing to do with it!" Chris defended as Dawn came up to them and then nodded.
"I... Believe them..." Lynn Sr said as they looked and saw that they were as surprised as everyone else.
"If not them then who..." Lincoln asked and they just shrugged.
"I see nothing but honesty in their auras but Chef is thinking about the arrows and matches that had gotten stolen from the equipment locker yesterday. Been saved for an upcoming challenge." Dawn said as everyone glared as Chris just flashed them a smile before continuing to read.
"Nonsense about aura reading again..." Lisa muttered as they looked at her.
"At this point Lisa; you should start to accept that there are forces beyond scientific explanation." Lucy then told her but Lisa looked steadfast.
Chef was doing a ballet dance in a tutu set to Swan Lake music and DJ tried to strap himself to a tree to help but ended up falling asleep with the tree toppling over.
"What was that supposed to accomplish DJ?" Bobby asked as they all shrugged.
Courtney said in the confessional that she figured that she could outlast them all by keep moving.
"Good strategy there..." Stella then said and they all nodded.
Courtney was moving about as campers had falling asleep with her, Gwen, Ezekiel, Dawn and Lightning still awake last. Chris came with a pop-up book about the history of Canada with the first chapter being beavers a national symbol and a 'dam' fine animal.
Luan then bursted into laughter and Lynn Jr then followed. "Get it... Beavers being a 'dam' fine animal..." Luan asked
Courtney groaned as she finally fell asleep along with Ezekiel and Dawn was actually struggling to stay awake.
"How long have they have all been awake now..." Lincoln asked as they all frowned not wanting to know.
"Must... Hear... Beaver history..." Dawn stated but ended up falling asleep and landed on Lincoln with them snuggling up to eachother.
Lincoln groaned as they all talked about how cute they looked; especially Leni and Lana.
"Great... If only I had someone to talk to... I would even take homeschool..." Gwen muttered as Lightning grinned at her as he kept doing star jumps.
"You can't outlast me goth girl; I am Lightning..." Lightning bragged but he ended up tiring himself out to the point where he fell asleep.
"Wow Gwen outlasted the jock... She is a keeper Lincoln..." Lynn Jr then told Lincoln as they were clapping for Gwen.
"Gwen is the last one awake so the Killer Hamsters win!" Chris exclaimed as Gwen finally let herself fall asleep and ended up landing next to Lincoln with her snuggling up to him as well.
"Boy are you going to be in for a surprise when you awaken..." Luan teased Lincoln with snickers from the sisters as he was red in the face again.
"You are still stuck in this love triangle here..." Clyde whispered to Lincoln who sighed at the reminder and just knew that this was going to end badly...
Later once the campers were all awake; they were all in the mess hall to discuss what had happened. "All in favour of declaring that the worst challenge that we have had to deal with so far then please raise your hands and say 'aye'!" Lincoln declared out loud with his arm raised and just about everyone raised their arms and said 'aye'.
"Chris will really have to up his game to top that..." Lynn Jr muttered as they were all nodding with the future Lincoln.
"Don't say that... It will just jinx things..." Luna told Lynn Jr.
"Jinxes do not exit..." Lisa said gritting her teeth.
"Impressive considering the first thing that we had to do was jump off a freakishly tall cliff!" ranted Gwen as Cody was looking nervous at Lincoln and Gwen.
"So Lincoln, Gwen... Since you have both pretty much forgiven Ezekiel for what he said previously and the whole hunt thing..." Cody asked as they silently glared at him.
"Trying this luck... I wouldn't be so quick to forgive him..." Lori then said and the older ones nodded as well.
"Just stay away from us Cody..." Lincoln muttered as Cody got the hint.
"Another loss; how did Lightning end up on the team that kept losing!" Lightning ranted at the Screaming Beavers' table as they were dealing with their latest defeat and Lindsay just looked frightened. "If I remember you were the first one to be out!" Lightning declared pointing to Lindsay who jumped.
"Please be Lindsay..." they all pleaded
"Me? It wasn't my fault! Someone shot an arrow on fire at me!" Lindsay complained but Lightning kept glaring at her.
"Yep and it was great..." Lincoln then said with a smirk which was shared by many from there.
"Maybe so but from what I could see; you are the most useless one here!" Lightning fired back as Lindsay looked upset and DJ glared at him and put an arm around her shoulder.
"Not cool man after what she had been through; you know what? I volunteer myself! I have had a good run and besides I think that I better get out before it gets scarier!" DJ offered as Lindsay smiled gratefully but Lightning shook his head along with DJ.
They groaned out loud. "She gets saved again..." yelled Clyde.
"Shouldn't have said anything DJ... You are being too nice..." Leni sighed along with everyone else.
"Once again Screaming Beavers; welcome to the campfire ceremony where the one that doesn't get a marshmallow much walk the Dock of Shame, board the Boat of Losers and they can't come back ever!" Chris said with the marshmallows at the campfire pit. "So the campers that are safe are... Zoey, Lightning, Dawn..." Chris said tossing Lightning and Dawn their marshmallows but Dawn looked displeased.
"Not amusing in the slightest Chris." Dawn said with DJ shaking his head in agreement as they saw that Chris had two marshmallows on his plate.
They blinked and glared at him.
"He is a real comedian..." ranted Luan as they shook her heads.
"He is letting Zoey stay missing and he decides pulling this would be funny..." Rita muttered shaking her head.
"This last one goes to... Lindsay! Sorry DJ; it's your time to go!" Chris said throwing a marshmallow to Lindsay as Lightning looked angry and Dawn looked sad but DJ hugged her.
"It's okay Dawn; I had a good run and take care of everyone and say goodbye to Zoey for me when you find her!" DJ smiled and waved to them as he walked the Dock of Shame as Lighting stomped on the ground.
They sighed sadly at this. "Hopefully they can at least find Zoey..." Lincon said as they all nodded.
"You two had better work twice as hard! Lightning can't take another loss of this team!" Lightning ranted with his arms folded glaring at Dawn and Lindsay.
"If only Lindsay an be the next to go..." pleaded Lynn Jr silently.
"Safe for now... Relatively speaking... Good of DJ to take the elimination for me but I still have someone out there that fired that arrow at me... Wait; could she have... She wouldn't..." Lindsay with her eyes in realisation and looked nervous in the confessional.
Things were tense and uncomfortable.
"...What is she talking about..." Bobby asked and they didn't have a good idea about this.
Up the mountain, "Lindsay please tell me what is going on... Did Lincoln draw Gwen was well then why didn't you act like he didn't if he did..." Zoey asked pleading with her to answer as Lindsay groaned.
"Wait... Zoey found out..." Lincoln asked as their eyes widened.
"Does this mean that Lindsay..." Lynn Sr asked as they faces became white.
"He did... I showed the Dawn one to her and you and the Gwen one to her and Cody... Got them to be quiet like I told you two... Thought the drama would be fun..." Lindsay sighed out as Zoey was open mouthed at hearing that.
"What? Why would you do such a thing? For fun... Lindsay; that is actually manipulative and so not cool!" Zoey cried unable to believe this.
"Well it was fun to watch as like a soap opera and I was hoping to keep it going... I thought the jig was up in the camp when I got Tyler to help me find berries in the night but we just had to overhear Cody and Gwen talking about the picture..." Lindsay sighed and Zoey was open mouthed and horrified.
"Tyler! That's what he wanted to say... Oh my god... Dawn, said that the bear said he tried to warn us all about you... I didn't listen... I defended you and thought that she was being paranoid..." Zoey asked in horror but then Lindsay started laughing... Zoey then saw that Lindsay was giving her an uncharacteristic smirk.
"Figured it out... Should have listened to her bestie earlier..." Leni muttered as they all stared uncomfortably.
"They call me the dumb one..." Lindsay laughed as Zoey took this in; "So fun... You know getting bored at school and I have to get fun while I can... Whether it's getting guys to do my work for me or messing about with relationships..." laughed Lindsay as Zoey started crying and drying away her tears.
"She does these type of things at her school..." Bobby asked as they all felt sorry for whoever had to go to school with her.
"I thought... You were a friend... I defended you... I can see why you wanted to be friends with Heather but you got her to snap to save your own butt... You know that you are finished right; I am telling everyone..." Zoey told her as Lindsay sighed.
"Zoey... I do see you all as friends that I like to mess about with... I sincerely hope that you survive this..." Lindsay sighed as she went and pushed Zoey off the ledge with her back colliding with the ground.
They all screamed out and Rita had to hold Lily close to her as she was crying.
"That's assault..." Stella muttered.
"The show just let her get away with this..." Lincoln asked and they became furious and frowning at the screen.
"With my aura reading I can actually tell who voted for who in these eliminations and this time... Lightning and I voted for Lindsay and Lindsay voted for DJ with him going for himself and that would make it a tie... But I read Chris had counted 3 votes for DJ so... Could that mean?" Dawn explained in the confessional pondering.
"What does that mean?" Leni asked confused as they all blinked.
"Zoey had to have voted as well..."Lisa informed Leni and she blinked as well.
"But she is missing..." Leni then muttered out.
Zoey alright from the fall (physically at least) as she landed in the messy dirt and cried as she noticed Lindsay giving her that wave with that stupid fake smile on her face as she just left her there. She got to her knees as she cried thinking like a fool.
They frowned sadly at the screen; feeling sorry for the poor girl and Leni just wanted to put her into a hug.
Her tears of sadness became tears of rage as she yelled out her fury and got up to her face; ripped off a bit of the bottom of her top and tied it around her forehead like a headband. She went and put her fingers to the mud and used them on her cheek as if it was war paint.
They blinked and were open mouthed at that.
"Wow... Zoey has done a total 180... Guess that look she gave Lightning at that spin the bottle thing was just a taste of how scary she can be..." Lynn Jr muttered out impressed.
"She ruined a perfectly good top..." Leni muttered out as Lori shook her head at Leni's priorities.
"Wait... Did she fire the arrow earlier?" Lincoln asked as they blinked once more.
"I am going to train and hone my skills out there but when I am ready... Lindsay, I am coming for you..." Zoey swore with a determined voice that sounded uncharacteristic of her.
"I am all for this new Zoey..." Clyde said as they started smiling and cheering her on.
The campfire pit was empty but on one stool was the one last remaining marshmallow. A figure leaped down and picked it up. The camera saw that it was Zoey looking serious.
"You have been allowed this reprieve Lindsay for now because after what you have done... Revenge is a dish best served cold..." Zoey stated in a quiet voice.
"Playing with her food before going for the kill... I can respect that..." Lynn Jr said as they ended up becoming quiet.
"So will this new Zoey will be karma coming to collect against Lindsay?" Luan asked.
"But everyone else is still worried for her and thinking she is missing..." Leni brought up frowning.
"I am sure that she will show herself soon and then things will be better..." Lincoln assured Leni as she smiled.
"Come on... Can't wait for this next episode..."Stella cheered along with everyone else as Lisa pressed play on the next episode.
The first episode after the love triangle in the show was ended off screen and 2 episodes before anyone watching finds out. Plus next time it's them reacting to...
