Owl House Season 1 Episode 21 – Young Blood, Old Souls Part 2

More people continue arriving at the Conformatorium, expressing their mixed emotions about Eda's petrification to each other. Willow and Gus are spread out, looking around for Luke and Amity, not knowing they're IN the Conformatorium.
Willow: Luke! Amity! Where are you!?
Gus: Luke? Luke!
They also don't know the Golden Guard is stood on a narrow ledge, his arms crossed as he leans against the wall watching Willow and Gus look for their friends. With a scoff he disappears in a flash of red.
Back in Eda's cell, Luke continues screaming and crying, constantly banging the floor and making it crack more as he lets out all his bottled-up emotions. He stops to breathe wildly as he cries.
The door opens to reveal Lilith coming in, holding King who angrily squirms. Amity is trapped in a blue bubble, smacking it constantly as it follows Lilith.
Lilith: Drat!
Amity: Let us go!
Lilith: Lilith approaches Luke. I'm too late, at least I found you, human.
Hearing Lilith address him, Luke slowly stood up seething with boiling rage.
Luke: You. You cursed Eda. You put her in chains. Luke turns fanning out glyphs with tears of rage. And now I'm gonna make you PAY! I'LL TEAR YOU APART!
Luke screams in rage as he leapt towards Lilith and smacks together Fire and Light Glyphs to send gold flames at Lilith. The Head of the Emperor's Coven drops King and Amity to put up a barrier of white flames to block. Luke slides behind her and Lilith quickly turns.
Lilith: Please, I don't want to fight!
Luke: Well, I do!
Lilith takes aim with her staff only for an Abomination hand to grab hold of Lilith's staff. And of course, the caster was Amity who has two spell circles out as she tries to hold down Lilith's staff.
Lilith: Amity, please!
Amity: I won't let you hurt Luke! Not now! Not ever again!
Lilith: I don't want to hurt any of you! I just want to talk!
Luke: Talk to the glyph, witch!
Luke slams five plant glyphs to the ground at once, summoning several tendrils to trap Lilith. She breaks through them easily with a spin of her staff, but the distraction leaves her open for Luke to slam his Water and Lightning Glyph together, sending out a stream of water conducting electricity. Lilith tries to block again with a flame barrier, but the electricity engulfs her, and she screams out, stumbling in pain. Just as she was about to attack again Amity jumps in to grab her staff, having a tug of war with her former mentor.
Lilith: Stop it! Both of you! I don't want to hurt either of you!
Amity: Amity looks at her in the eye angrily. You expect me to believe you Lilith!? After everything you've done! All the lies and betrayal! Sorry, but you're out of chances!
Lilith: Lilith is hurt by that. Amity, just listen to me!
Amity: Too late Lilith!
Amity flips above Lilith, pulling her staff back and her feet against her spine to restrain her by the neck.
Luke: Hold her down Amity!
Luke lunges and tackles Lilith through the portal door with Amity.
King: Luke!
Luke, Amity and Lilith fall off the porch (with Amity losing her cloak) of the old house Luke entered through into the Demon Realm months ago. King follows through a second later. The four of them looked up to see a forest of lush and vibrate greenery as the human stood up slowly with Amity, taking in the scenery. For Luke it's the first time he's been in his world for months and for Amity it's the first time ever.
Luke: Earth…
Amity: Whoa…so this is the human realm?
While they're distracted Lilith stands behind them with her hands glowing blue.
King: Luke, Amity, watch out!
King is restrained by vines but his warning causes Luke and Amity to see Lilith send out multiple fireballs. They dive out the way in opposite directions and Luke pulls out a Lightning Glyph.
Luke: Eat lightning witch!
But to Luke's great shock (pun intended) instead of blasting electricity the paper disintegrates completely.
Luke: What the hell!?
Lilith sends out more fireballs at Luke. Amity gasps and ran.
Amity: Luke! Look out!
Amity tackles Luke out of the way and she ends up getting hit in the back. Amity screams out in pain as she fell to the ground on her chest much to horror of Lilith and Luke.
Lilith: No!
Luke: Amity!
Luke scrambles over to Amity (a burnt hole in the back of her shirt) and twists her around, lifting her head up.
Luke: Amity! Amity, wake up!
Amity groans as she struggles to open her eyes. Luke gives Lilith a deadly glare.
Lilith: No…I-I didn't mean to-!
Luke screams in rage as he charges Lilith and lunges at her in rage. Lilith manages to catch him and pin him down to the ground.
Lilith: Please, just listen to me!
Luke: I'm not listening to anything you have to say hag!
Luke headbutts Lilith in the face and she screams out in agony, as she holds her nose. Luke pushes her off and reverses the position. Lilith shouts in pain when he punches her in the face. Soon, Luke is wailing on the older witch, violently punching her in the face as much as possible, releasing every bit of hatred he has for her. Lilith tried sloppily blocking with her arms, but Luke found too many openings to punch through and Lilith was shouting in pain, unable to defend herself as Luke got angrier!
Luke: YOU CURSED EDA! YOU FORCED HER INTO A LIFE OF CRIME! YOU HUNTED HER LIKE A WILD ANIMAL! BECAUSE OF YOU SHE'S GONNA BE TURNED TO STONE! YOU'RE THE ONE WHO DESERVES TO BE PETRIFIED, NOT EDA!
Luke kept wailing away at Lilith, punching her in the face left and right so hard she spills blood. Eventually, she snaps with tears gushing out her eyes.
Lilith: YOU DON'T THINK I KNOW THAT!
Luke stops wailing on Lilith, an expression of shock on his face. Amity lifts herself up, gasping in equal disbelief. Luke backs away, dropping on his rear. Lilith sat up on her knees, hugging herself. Her face is covered in bruises and blood, but Luke and Amity could tell her expression was full of sorrow, regret, honesty and sincerity.
Lilith: You're right. I deserve to be in Edalyn's place.
Amity walks up to Luke, frowning at Lilith in confusion and sympathy.
Amity: Lilith…why did you do all this? Why did you spend your whole life hunting down your sister like this?
Luke: And why did you curse her in the first place? You practically ruined your own sister's life and drove her into a life a crime.
Lilith: It wasn't anything like that! It was an accident! One that I thought I was trying to amend.
Luke: How was hunting your little sister down and forcing her to join a coven supposed to help in curing her curse.
Lilith: When Edalyn and I were younger, we were, the best of friends.
(Flashback)
Lilith explains hers and Eda's story, how the two of them were best friends from childhood, playing together, training together and a touching a moment of whenever Eda gets hurt Lilith would cast a spell that would allow her to share half of the pain.
As they grew up it became their dream to join the Emperor's Coven. For Lilith she wanted to join to help the world and Eda wanted to be with her sister. Unfortunately, for Lilith her sister, though younger worked twice as hard as her, thus making her the more skilled and knowledgeable witch. When they were teenagers, they had signed up to join the Emperor's Coven but there was only one spot available and the Clawthorne Sisters had to duel each other for it. Lilith knew Eda would beat her in a witch's duel as she's the better witch.
Following Belos' teachings about sacrifice she found and brought a scroll in the night market which she used to cast a spell on Eda while she was sleeping to render her magicless for a day. But to Lilith's great shock, when the sisters were about to duel, Eda forfeits the spot to Lilith as she decided covens aren't her style and wishes her sister good luck in the Emperor's Coven.
It was that day when Eda began to walk away, she had transformed into the terrifying Owl Beast, scaring a lot of people and causing almost all of them to call her a monster while chasing her away. Lilith would've chased after her if the scouts hadn't come to congratulate her and welcome her into the Emperor's Coven.
Lilith: I made my sacrifice for the emperor, and it was time to receive my reward. I…didn't think too much of it at the time. I thought it was merely just a side effect of the spell I casted. But then one day…
In the Clawthorne's home, the entire background goes blood red as the shadow of the Owl Beast is sent clawing away at a man (presumed to be Eda and Lilith's father, Dell Clawthorne) with Lilith and the sister's mother, Gwendolyn Clawthorne watching in horror.
Lilith: The beast came again…and crippled my father. Then when we called the Healing Coven for help…
Lilith sneaks near the door to Eda's room, secretly listening to her conversation with the healer and Gwendolyn.
Teen Eda: It always starts the same. I wake up someplace dark. And the…it appears. And eventually… I wake up and I know I turned into… that thing.
Lilith becomes very worried when she sees the expression of pure fear and terror on Eda's face, something she would never usually see from her daredevil sister.
Healer: I see. Tell me Eda, how did you get this kind of curse in the first place? Do you remember?
Lilith listens closely to the next part.
Teen Eda: I…I don't know. But…when I was about to turn into that…thing, I found myself in my room. I saw myself sleeping and…then my door opened on to show me some kind of shadow.
Lilith widens her eyes in horror and realization.
Gwendolyn: Who was this "shadow", dear?
Teen Eda: I don't know…their face is all blurry. I can't seem to get a good view, even after they came in. Then the shadow got out a scroll and said some incantation. After that I'm back in the dark place being chased by…it.
Lilith becomes mortified, gasping in horror as got out of view, realizing it's her Eda's talking about. She leans against the wall panting heavily and exasperatedly as it all fully sinks in. She just cursed her sister and sentenced her to a fate worse than death.
Teen Lilith: It's me…she's talking about me!
Healer: Hmm. It's possible that was no dream. Someone may have snuck into your room and casted this curse on you.
Gwendolyn: If I find out who that someone is, I will chase them across the edge of the world and rip them apart limb by limb!
Lilith steps away in pure fear and guilt from hearing that and immediately ran.
Lilith bursts out the door, running out the house and into the forest, getting as far away she could with tears gushing out her eyes.
Lilith: It was at that moment, I realized what I had done. What I casted that day wasn't a spell. It was a curse. She was supposed to be magicless for a day or two but instead I ended up casting a curse that turned my sister into…
Luke: The Owl Beast…
Lilith: Yes. I ended up cursing my own sister. I had caused her to suffer a fate worse than death. And what's worse…my actions had crippled my entire family and tore us apart.
Lilith ends up tripping on a puddle on her face and begins crying and sobbing hysterically as the reality of what she has done sets in.
Teen Lilith: It's all my fault…! It's all my fault! I'm so sorry, Edalyn! I'm so sorry…!
Lilith continues crying her eyes out for the next hours.
Lilith: It was then that I vowed…I would spend the rest of my life trying to find a cure. One that would heal the curse that I had casted on my sister. And I was willing to do whatever it took to save her.
(End of Flashback)
We go back to the present day, Lilith looking equally saddened after explaining her story. Luke and Amity stare at Lilith, their anger now turning into sympathy.
Amity: Lilith…
Lilith: I've been pursuing Edalyn because if she joined the Emperor's Coven, Emperor Belos told me he would heal her curse. But he lied to me. For years I worked tirelessly to make it to the top, I went on countless missions and captured many wild witches in the name of the emperor in hopes of gaining his favour. And I…I… Lilith closes her eyes, welling up with tears. I betrayed someone close to me and Edalyn to become the Head of the Emperor Coven. Luke and Amity exchange worried looks. I crossed a huge line in my efforts to please the emperor. I betrayed my friends and family. But I only did it because all I ever really wanted to heal my sister and fix my mistake. But in the end…Tears leak out of her eyes. Every terrible thing I had done was for nothing. Belos used me. He told me right in my face after capturing Edalyn that he would not be healing her.
Luke and Amity were disgusted hearing what Belos did.
Amity: He…lied to you? After everything you did for him, Emperor Belos went back on his promise?
Lilith: Yes…he did.
Amity: That's…that's horrible!
Luke: So…you're saying you want to help us now?
Lilith: Yes. I realize now that I've been a gullible fool all these years. I know how to rescue Edalyn, but I can't do it alone.
Luke: Even if we agree to work with you how do we know we can trust you?
Lilith traces two spell circles, one that surrounds her and another surrounds Amity. When they disappear Lilith's bruises are healed and Amity gasps to find her burn mark is gone.
Luke: Okay…that was a nice gesture…but you're gonna have to do more than that.
Lilith traces a large blue spell circle, summoning Owlbert and Eda's staff in her hands, offering them to Luke.
Luke: Owlbert! Luke takes both of them. You're okay!
Owlbert wakes up and coos in joy, nuzzling into Luke's cheek as he and Amity smile. Luke puts him on his shoulder and both he and Amity look to Lilith.
Amity: Thank you, Lilith.
Lilith: I have something else that belongs to you, human.
Lilith traces another large spell circle. Luke and Amity gasp to see Rebellion and Glyph Guns appear in blue flames too, flying over to Luke as Eda's staff disappears.
Luke: My weapons! Luke takes a hold of them all. Rebellion! Glyph Guns! You're okay! Ha, ha! I've missed you guys! I'm back in the game, baby!
Amity: Lilith, you kept them?
Lilith: Yes. I was ordered to destroy them all, but I couldn't…not after…
Lilith saddens in guilt. Luke still regards her suspiciously until Amity helps him up and turns him around to talk, his Glyph Guns disappearing, keeping only Rebellion.
Amity: Luke, I think we should work with Lilith.
Luke: Amity, you're not seriously suggesting we trust her after everything she did. She cursed Eda out of jealousy, hunted her like an animal and almost killed me. Plus, I don't know what this line she crossed was, but I don't like it, especially since she betrayed someone who probably trusted her with their life to some creepy bastard!
Amity: I don't completely trust her either. I know she's done some terrible things, but she did them because she was trying to save her sister, her way. Emperor Belos lied to her Luke. He used her guilt to manipulate her.
Luke: And I feel sorry for her, but I can't just forget what she's done.
Amity: I'm not saying we should forget. But we should at least be willing to work together for now. Lilith may be our last chance of saving Eda. And right now, she's risking a lot, betraying the emperor for us. She even protected Owlbert. That has to mean something. Owlbert coos in agreement. Even Owlbert trusts her.
Luke and Amity look to Lilith who continues looking down in sincere guilt. Amity and Hooty give Luke a smile which he gladly returns before firmly looking to Lilith.
Luke: All right, Lilith. As much I don't like you or even trust you for that matter…I guess we have something in common, we both want to save Eda. So… He holds out his hand. We'll work with you to save Eda.
Lilith gratefully smiles before taking Luke's hand and standing up.
Lilith: Thank you…Luke.
Luke: But just to make things clear I don't trust you completely. I'm only doing this because Amity trusts you enough. Luke held up a gun. If you even think of betraying us, I swear, I'll put a bullet through your head!
Lilith: I understand.
And with that, Lilith releases King from his vines. Lilith gives Amity a smile.
Lilith: Amity…thank you. Amity nervously smiles. Now, let's head back.
Lilith heads for the door. Luke, Amity and King start to follow her, but a breeze makes the human boy turn back at the human realm behind them. A nostalgic, mournful tune plays as he stares at the trees, the wind whipping his cape. Lilith walks through the door, but Amity and King notices Luke lingering, as the former places her cloak back on.
King: Luke?
King was about to approach Luke, but Amity stops him.
Amity: Follow Lilith, King. I'll talk to Luke.
King: Okay.
King follows Lilith while Amity approaches and stood next to Luke, staring at his world with him.
Amity: Are you okay?
Luke: Yeah, I'm fine. I just…needed a minute to take this all in. This is where this whole crazy adventure began for me.
Amity: Amity puts on a smile for her crush and takes hold of his hand. You know…I've only been here for a couple minutes and…your world is really beautiful.
Luke: Luke smiles with her. Yeah. It sure is. And this is just one small part of it. My world may not be magical but it's pretty amazing.
Amity: Amity blushes a little. Maybe, you could show me around someday. I'd like to get to know your world better.
Luke: Luke turns to Amity. I'd be happy to. It's a promise. Pinkie swear.
Luke holds up his pinkie and Amity, a little hesitant does the same. The two connect their pinkies together, sharing another warm smile as Amity blushes.
Amity: So…do you need another minute to…?
Luke: No. I'm good now.
They both walk up the steps, Amity was first to enter the portal. Luke pauses just before entering, taking one last look at the human realm, his home. He held up Rebellion, giving it a deep look after having been separated from it for what feels like forever. He turns back to the door, opening and swing the blade with a determined look.
Luke: Let's clean up this mess!
And with that he disappears into the glowing white. The glow disappears with him, leaving just a broken-down house with a closed door.
Drums are being played as the crowd stood in front of podium where Eda is set to be petrified grows larger. Willow and Gus grow increasingly worried.
Willow: I don't see Luke or Amity anywhere.
Gus: Do you think they got caught?
An alarm sounds, and the cage with Eda in it rises onto a towering platform in front of the crowd. Kikimora is stood in front of Eda.
Perry: Well folks, Eda the Owl Lady has appeared on stage, which means the petrification process is about to begin.
Kikimora finishes rising with the cage. She walks forward and pushes a lever, making a three headed statue with green orbs attached to it rise from the ground. Eda visibly looks nervous as the machine crackles with power, and she's being guarded by a bunch of scouts. This is it for her… the end of her story. Luke kept hold of Rebellion, prepared to bring out the blade. Both Luke and Amity had their hoods on.
Lilith is leading Luke, Amity and King throughout the Conformatorium corridors. Luke remains tense while the rest manage to keep their composure. King rides Amity's shoulder this time.
Amity: So, where are we going?
Lilith: These hallways lead straight to a room that will take you to Edalyn and prevent her petrification. But we'll need to be quick.
Luke walks faster, surprising everyone by going ahead and looking down in a bad mood.
Luke: Yeah, yeah, whatever. Less talking, more walking. Eda's waiting for us.
Lilith, King and Amity exchange worried looks from seeing Luke acting a little angsty and temperamental ever since watching Eda disappear. They quickly follow him.
Amity: Luke? Are you okay?
Luke: I'm fine Amity.
Amity worries more upon hearing his tone full of impatience and frustration. Losing Eda twice has caused her crush to lose his cool.
Eventually, the four of them walk through a doorway and arrive in a large room decorated with pillars in the corner, a stone gazebo in the centre and another doorway on the other side. A sqwuak is heard and Lilith gasps when she looks up to see a black corvid stood on the gazebo.
Lilith: Qrow?
Luke, Amity & King: Huh?
The kids look up, spotting the corvid, causing them confusion.
Luke: Is that a corvid?
King: What's an ugly looking bird doing in here?
Lilith: Lilith tenses. That is no ordinary bird.
Luke: Now that you mention it…there is something familiar about that bird.
Amity: What do you mean, Luke?
Luke: I think I've seen it a couple times around Bonesborough. It's almost like it's following me.
King: What? Why would it follow you?
Lilith: Children, stay back! Now!
The kids are surprised to see Lilith so alarmed.
Amity: Lilith, what's wrong!? It's just a bird.
Lilith: No, it isn't! It's…
Before Lilith could finish, the corvid flew off the gazebo, flying around it and then disappears behind one of its columns supporting it. To the sheer disbelief of the children, emerging from the same column was none other than Qrow Argus, casually leaning against it with Harbginger stood right next to him.
Qrow: What took you so long?
Luke: You!
Lilith: Qrow.
Amity: Oh, my Titan! You're Qrow Argus!? Head of the Weaponry Coven!
Qrow picks up his sword, resting it on his shoulder.
Qrow: The one and only, Blight.
Luke: What the hell was that!? Were you a bird just now?
Qrow: Just a little something I've had since birth. I'm no ordinary devil or witch. He looks to King. By the way, who are you calling ugly, furball?
King yelps, hiding behind Amity.
Luke: I've seen you over Bonesborough a couple times. Have you been spying on me an actual crow this whole time!?
Qrow: Maybe. Qrow turns his attention to Lilith. Well, well, Lilith. Fancy running into you here. So, what the hell are you doing with a couple kids? You taking them hostage? Or.…have you become a turncoat?
Lilith: Well…I…
Devil May Cry 4 – Dante Crashing the Party
Qrow casually gives a dismissive hand gesture, sheathing Harbinger.
Qrow: Meh. Not like I care. I've got no business telling you how to live.
Luke is beginning to get annoyed with how long this conversation is going.
Luke: What are you doing here!? Luke just keeps walking. Forget this! I don't have time for this!
Luke bumps Qrow's shoulder but he stops the human boy, grabbing his shoulder.
Qrow: And neither do I.
Luke gives a dangerous look before launching two punches at Qrow only for the veteran witch to effortlessly evade, catching Luke's wrist and giving a sly look.
Qrow: So, I'll cut to the chase.
Luke growls as he pushes harder only for Qrow to shove him off and send Luke crashing into a wall so hard, it collapses and envelopes him in a dust cloud.
Lilith: No!
Amity & King: Luke!
Before they could do anything Qrow casts a spell circle, trapping Amity, King and Lilith in orbs much to their dismay as they try to escape.
Amity: Hey!
King: Weh!
Lilith: Qrow! Let us out immediately!
Qrow: Sorry, but this is between me and the kid. Qrow looks to the dust cloud. I'm here for that sword of yours.
Luke could be seen standing in the dust cloud.
Luke: Your point being?
A surge blue aura and electricity is released, blowing away the cloud and forcing Qrow to shield his eyes. He then takes a good look at Luke in slight surprise to see he's transformed and holding Rebellion. His blue hair, sharp fingers, fangs and the whites in his eyes turned black were all too familiar to him and the Rebellion is enveloped in aura as all the glyphs glows. Lilith herself is surprised to see the form again.
Lilith: There's that form again.
Amity: Luke! Be careful!
Luke and Qrow talk as the former continues to surge with energy, his voice distorted as usual in this form.
Qrow: It was originally my brother's. Qrow draws and opens Harbinger. Return it to me and I'll let you go…little kid.
Luke: "Little kid"? Well… Luke rubs his nose. If that's how you see me, I think you'll blush a pretty pink when I kick your ASS!
Luke instantly swung his sword as he said that and unleashes an energy blade that Qrow dodges by flipping up, the arc smashing into a pillar and destroying it while Qrow lands on the stone gazebo, casually sat down and resting Harbinger on his shoulder, giving an angered Luke a playful look.
Qrow: A helpful hint: Take a tip from your elders.
Luke looks to Amity, King and Lilith trapped in their bubbles and attempts to run over only for Qrow to jump down, blocking his path. The human boy swung down his powered-up sword, preparing to fight, knowing he won't be able to save them without one while Qrow continues resting his sword on his shoulder.
Devil May Cry 4 OST Dante vs Nero 2
Luke lunges at Qrow to launch a swing and the coven head meets it, swinging Harbinger with both hands to match his power. The two clash, engaging in a blade lock and releasing a shockwave of electricity. Luke and Qrow push hard, trying to overpower each other.
Qrow: So, this is the little transformation I keep hearing rumours about. Doesn't seem like much to me.
Luke: You're about to eat those words!
All the Glyphs embedded in Rebellion glows brighter and the sword becomes enveloped in a multi-coloured electric aura. Luke pushes Qrow off and two warriors trade 5 sword strikes left and right. The force from Luke's strike was enough to slowly force Qrow back and eventually with one strong swing Luke sends Qrow flying back despite him barely managing to block. Qrow flips and sticks his sword to the floor, coming to a halt and holding his weapon backhanded, giving Luke a look.
Luke summons a glyph gun and fires rapid electric shots, all of which Qrow deflects by swinging and spinning his sword. Luke ran forward, continuing to fire shots, prompting Qrow to bring out Storm and fire rapid shots. Luke and Qrow's bullets kept meeting and cancelling each other out. Luke leapt up, diving down as he and Qrow kept firing more shots. Eventually, when Luke gets close, the two warriors swung their swords, meeting in another collision that shakes the room.
Amity: I can't believe it! Luke's transformed and Qrow's still holding him back!
King: And he's not even in his Devil Form!
Lilith: Even in base form, devils are often more powerful than any ordinary witch!
Luke kicks off Qrow and leapt at him again, launching a swing the devil quickly deflects and the goggle-headed boy flips up and lands behind him. Qrow turns, morphing Harbinger into its Scythe Form and gave it a spin. The two lunges at each other and trade blows, Qrow parries two swings from Luke then tries to swipe his feet. Luke jumps to dodge, deflects three swings and when Qrow spun his scythe and thrusts Luke deflects with a swing and then delivers an electric slash to Qrow's stomach, causing him to grunt and stumble back in pain, clutching his stomach. He sees a cut has formed on his top and reverts Harbinger back to normal, glaring at Luke.
King: YES! He landed a hit!
Amity: Go, Luke!
Lilith is surprised seeing how powerful Luke is in this form.
...
Luke lunges at Qrow, shouting in rage as they both exchange quick one-hand strikes, with Luke finally launching and upper swing that disarms Qrow of Harbinger and sends it flying high up. Luke, then spun his sword and lunges at Qrow with an electrified thrust, intent on impaling him. But Coven Head grins, jumping to the side and around Luke. The human boy ends up missing and Qrow delivers a palm strike to the back of his head.
Luke hits the ground and with a chuckle, Qrow catches Harbinger. The human boy twists around for a swing only for the coven head to pin his wrist and stick Harbinger right next to his neck, pinning him down and panting a little as Luke reverts back to normal.
Amity: NO!
King: Luke!
Qrow: You cooled off yet kid? Luke says nothing, just glaring. What's the matter? Why the glare?
Luke: You look as though you've been playing me from the beginning. You haven't even gone devil like before.
Qrow: Well, there's a simple reason for that kid. If I were to go all out, you'd either be dead or this entire room and maybe building would come crashing down. You have no idea how strong devil powers are.
Luke: What are you gonna do now? Turn us over to the emperor?
Qrow merely scoffs and grins, snapping his finger. Luke becomes surprised when Amity, Lilith and King are released, landing on the floor with a grunt.
Amity: Luke!
Amity forms her Chakrams, Lilith summons her Raven Staff and King gets on all fours, all ready to fight after standing back up.
Amity: Let him go!
Qrow: Relax princess, I'm not gonna hurt him. And I'm not turning any of you to Belos.
The group lower their weapons and relax, eyes widened in surprise. Qrow didn't come here on Belos' orders?!
Luke: What!? But you…you're…why would you…!?
Qrow: What? Did you actually think I came here to stop you from saving Eda? I'm not the emperor's lapdog.
King: Then why did you just try to kill us!?
Qrow: Come on, furball. If I wanted to kill ya, you'd all be dead by now. He points at Rebellion. Like I said, I came here to take that.
Luke: Why do you want this so badly?
Qrow: Like I said that sword originally belonged to my younger brother.
Luke: You mean…Sparda?
Qrow: So, Eda told you, huh?
Amity: What!? Sparda is your brother!? As in the Dark Knight Sparda!?
Amity looks to Lilith who nods in confirmation then to Qrow.
Qrow: Stepbrother to be exact little lady.
Luke: Does Belos even know a devil is working for him?
Qrow: Of course, he doesn't. If he did, I'd be a dead man.
Devil May Cry 4: The Dying Wish (last wish of the family) - 0:36-1:48
The coven head steps off Luke, turning and walking away from him for a bit as Luke twists himself and slowly stood up, grunting and listening to Qrow.
Qrow: That sword holds a little secret to it. It does more than just store up your those glyphs of yours. It's more powerful than you think. I can't have something of that kinda power floating around now, can I? He turns back to the human boy who stood facing to his left, away from Qrow. It's gotta stay in the family.
Luke held up Rebellion and gave it a deep look. While he understands this sword is important to Qrow it's just as valuable to Luke. He's fought many battles with it, forming an intimate connection and over time this sword has become more than a mere weapon. It's part of him. And he's not ready to give up a part of himself. Especially when he needs it to save someone he cares about.
Luke: I need this…
Amity walks over to gently clutch Luke's wrist, giving a look of sympathy, as does King who holds his leg. Qrow stares at Luke deeply then notices Lilith giving him a pleading look. Seeing how much Luke truly does need this sword, his connection with it and the fact that he likes this kid in general was enough to make Qrow smile in confirmation.
Qrow: Then keep it.
Luke, Amity and King the veteran witch looks of surprise. He's letting them go? And he's not fighting for the sword anymore?
Qrow: Now that you're calm and cool, get going. Qrow thumbs over to doorway behind him, walking out the way. Your mentor's waiting for you.
Luke took some time process Qrow's words and holds Rebellion by his side as Amity and King step back. He exchanges looks with Amity, King and Lilith, all of them giving smiles of approval, trusting Qrow. Luke returns their smiles and clutches Rebellion before walking forth. (Slow-motion) The moment he walks past Qrow, their coattails and cape flap, meeting for a brief moment until Luke fully walks past the coven head.
Qrow: Hey! Luke stops. What's your name?
Luke: Luke. You're Qrow, right? Not a bad name.
And with that, Luke walks off and Qrow turns to smile, wishing him luck.
Qrow: And neither is yours.
Qrow watches as Luke goes through the doorway.

King runs past, catching up with Luke and giving Qrow a quick glance and Amity follows suite.
Qrow: Hey.
Amity stops and turns to Qrow.
Amity: Yes, sir.
Qrow: First, don't call me sir. Second, you're Alador and Odalia's daughter, aren't you?
Amity: Amity frowns. Yes, I am.
Qrow: You're definitely not like your mom, thank Titan for that. Qrow just smiles. You care about Luke, don't you little Blight?
Amity: Amity smiles back fondly. I do. More than you could believe.
Qrow: He'll need someone like you by his side. You be sure to take care of him.
Amity: I will. Thank you.
And with that, Amity follows after Luke, leaving Qrow to smile again.
Lilith: You never wanted to take the sword, did you? Qrow turns to Lilith who smirks. You were helping the boy vent out his frustration.
Qrow: Hmph. Can't get anything past you. I saw his little breakdown after losing Eda. He won't be able to save her if he's an emotional wreck. I figured he'd need a little outlet to calm down.
Lilith: And the sword…are you sure you're okay with leaving it in his hand?
Qrow: Yeah, I figure he can bear the burden.
Lilith: It's…probably not my business, but this could get ugly.
Qrow: Well, if the kid screws up, I'll just have to kick his ass. By the way…you're making a pretty gutsy move betraying the emperor.
Lilith: Well…I…
Qrow: After what I saw in the throne room, I was hoping you'd do that.
Lilith: Lilith is surprised. You saw what happened?
Qrow: I did. He scowls. So, tell me, was it worth it?
Lilith: Lilith could only look down in shame. No. It wasn't. Everything I had done for the emperor was for nothing. All I ever truly wanted was to save my sister…but instead I've sentenced her to death. And years ago…I did the same to Sparda when I betrayed him, when I betrayed all of you. And I am truly sorry Qrow…for everything. Qrow just continues scowling, not saying a word. I won't ask you for forgiveness. I don't deserve it. All I ask is to be given the chance to atone for everything I've done.
After staring at Lilith's guilt-ridden eyes for 15 seconds, Qrow's scowl turns into a small smile.
Qrow: If you wanna make it up to me, you can try to stop something like this from happening again. And you can start by saving your sister. He thumbs over to the doorway. Go. She needs you.
Lilith: Lilith smiles gratefully. Thank you, Qrow.
And with that, Lilith takes her leave, following everyone else through the doorway. Qrow watches until she disappears from sight, sheathing Harbinger.
Qrow: Good luck kid. You too Lilith.
With his work done here, Qrow morphs into his crow form and flew away.
With that dealt with, Lilith does what she promised and lead Luke, Amity and King through the shortcut, before long, they were in a dark corridor with countless angel statues around them. Each one wrapped in strange meaty looking tendrils or intestines of the titan before they stood before a round, stone platform. Luke and Amity both had their hoods up and Rebellion is closed.
Lilith: You can take this up to the stage where they're holding Edalyn.
Luke: Thank you, Lilith. What'll you do now?
Lilith: I will stay in the Emperor's Coven, but I will make sure nothing like this ever happens again.
Luke: Luke smiles. That's good to hear.
Amity walks up to her former teacher nervously.
Amity: Lilith. I just wanted to say I…I…
Lilith places a hand on her former apprentice's shoulder with a kind smile.
Lilith: Amity, I know I have a lot to answer for. And I have a lot to apologize to you for. We can talk next time we get a chance.
Amity: You promise?
Lilith: I give you, my word.
Amity smiles better and Luke is relieved to see the tension between them slowly disappear. The human boy looks around and realizes something's not right.
Luke: Hold on a minute, something's not right.
Amity: What do you mean Luke?
Luke: If someone could come here to stop the petrification, why isn't it being guarded. Unless… He gasps in horror. IT'S A TRAP!
Right after he said that a red tendril wraps itself around Lilith's legs, pulling her down and she screams as she gets pulled up.
Amity: Lilith!
King screams as he also gets taken by a tendril.
Luke: King!
Lilith and King are dragged up near the ceiling before being suspended on either side of the far wall. Flames ignite below them, flanking a skull-like throne that Belos is sitting in, his staff in hand.
Amity: No…it's him!
Belos: Ah, Lilith. You chose the wrong side.
With a simple thought, Lilith and King are pulled upwards much to Luke and Amity's horror.
Luke: No!
Amity: Lilith! King!
The two kids glare at Belos who is most likely smiling under his mask.
Belos: The famous Luke the Human. Finally, we meet.
Luke: Emperor Belos, I presume.
Belos: You presume correctly.
Amity: Let them go!
Amity sends out a fireball at Belos but gasps in shock when he cancels it out simply by pointing his finger. That doesn't stop her from charging at Belos.
Luke: Amity, no!
Amity leapt up to deliver punch with a spike glove but to her and Luke's shock Belos creates a tiny spell circle the size of marble, engulfing Amity in red energy and freezing her mid-air before flicking her away. Amity is sent screaming and hits the floor hard.
Luke: Amity!
Luke tries to run over but more arm grabs his wrist, holding him back.
Belos: Ah puh-puh. I'd actually like to have a word with you, human. Luke hatefully glares at Belos. Do not worry about your friend. My trusty right-hand man will provide her company.
Luke: Right-hand man? Luke gasps in realization. Oh no…him!
Suddenly, just as Amity lifts herself up, she's engulfed in red energy again and lifted high into the air, causing her to yelp. Luke gasps.
Amity: LUKE!
Amity screams as she's invisibly pulled and sent flying towards the darkness out back. Luke could only reach out in horror.
Luke: NO!
Luke aims a hateful glare at Belos, yanking his wrist off the arms and summoning a Glyph Gun, aiming it at the Emperor who chuckles.
Belos: Now that we're alone, we can talk.
Luke continues glaring. He's faced with the Emperor of the Boiling Isles alone; Lilith and King have been taken away and who knows what's happening to Amity. Our hero is in a dire situation, and it will take all his skills to survive.
