Revisited this to reflect how the second season played out.

Today was an exciting day for the McGee and Chen families. For the second time in three years, a child from each of these families was to be wed to each other.

Two years ago, the older child of the Chen family, Oliver, or Ollie for short, entered into a polyamorus marriage with the former Molly McGee and Libby Stein-Torres. This came a year after polyamorus marriages of up to four people were legalized in the United States.

Today, the younger siblings of Molly and Ollie, Darryl and June, were going to get married.

The McGees met the Chens after the latter moved across the street from the former. While hitting it off, the relationship between the families became complicated when it was revealed that the Chens were ghost hunters, and a ghost, Scratch, had become an accepted member of the McGee family.

Darryl and June entered into a friendship based on their similar ages. June had been diagnosed with autism some time before they met. After Darryl himself was diagnosed with autism, his bond with June grew even stronger.

The McGees and Chens participated in numerous Autism Awareness events over the years, during which Darryl and June's friendship blossomed into something more. Meanwhile, Scratch found out he was a wraith of a man named Todd Mortenson, and reunited with his body, going on adventures he put off for so long.

Another friend of the McGees, Andrea Davenport, designed the dress that June would wear at the wedding, while her father made the suit for Darryl.

Food for the reception would consist of traditional Thai dishes made by Sharon, and Chinese dishes made by June's mother and father.

Darryl's older sister Molly loved weddings, which she regarded as very happy occasions, in line with Molly's wish to enhappify the world. She was very involved in planning the wedding of Darryl and June, as she was for her wedding with Ollie and Libby.

Scratch was at the wedding mainly for the food. Even in death, he was very gluttonous. The McGees had long learned to accept that, and Ollie and Libby had to live with that too now that they were married to Molly.

Darryl and June liked numerous media franchises that had large contingents of autistic fans. The most significant of these was Pokemon. Many fans of that franchise could relate to its creator, Satoshi Tajiri, as he himself was autistic. With this in mind, many of the wedding gifts would end up being Pokemon-related.

Just about everyone in Brighton is in attendance for the wedding, as well as numerous relatives of the McGees and Chens. From the Ghost World, Geoff and Geoff's partner Jeff came to the wedding. The Ghost World had changed significantly since the original Chairman was destroyed and Scratch assumed his place, then abdicating the position just before returning to Todd. More ghosts entered into friendships similar to the one Molly and Scratch had. As well, Todd, who had regained his memories as a wraith, came to the wedding.

The stage was finally set. Pete McGee accompanied his son down the aisle towards the altar, and Esther Chen did the same with her daughter. Andrea, who liked weddings as much as Molly, was one of June's bridesmaids, as was Libby and Molly, with the latter being the maid of honor. Ollie served as the sole groomsman for Darryl.

A priest was on hand to officiate the wedding of Darryl and June. He said, "I have been informed that the bride and groom have written their own wedding vows. I shall allow them to proceed."

Darryl spoke his vows first. "When you first moved here, I was like I finally had a friend my own age. I was much into causing trouble and pulling pranks. I got in trouble at school a lot. But when you came into my life, something changed inside me. I became a more well-rounded individual. And me being diagnosed with autism was a real game-changer. You also had autism, and that served to strengthen the bond between us. I now stand before you a fine young man, about to become married. And even though your family being ghost hunters complicated things somewhat, it still didn't change the way I felt about you. So I, Darryl McGee, take you, June Chen, to be my lawfully-wedded wife."

June spoke her vows next. "Having another autistic person in my life really made me happy. Before I moved to Brighton, I was quite shy around other kids my age. But you changed that. Because you were also autistic, I felt a real connection with you. Our respective older siblings dating made us being together even more sensible. I'm glad to have you as the man I will spend the rest of my life with. So I, June Chen, take you, Darryl McGee, to be my lawfully-wedded husband."

The priest began to speak again. "If there is anyone here who objects to the holy matrimony of these two fine young people, speak now or forever hold your peace." Everyone in the room kept quiet. They knew Darryl and June belonged together.

The priest then said, "OK, so everyone here is fine with this marriage. Well, then, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

Darryl and June engaged in their first kiss as a married couple. From this day forward, June would be known as June McGee. By contrast, both Molly and Libby took the Chen name upon marrying Ollie.

At the wedding reception, people enjoyed tasty Thai and Chinese food while dancing as a playlist of love songs of numerous genres played. Many wedding-goers were surprised by how spicy Sharon's Thai dishes were. But the taste grew on them. Sharon's family was well-used to this spiciness. As far as the playlist, Darryl and June wanted all kinds of genres on it. They were fans of music in general rather than just one genre.

While the Chens continued to be ghost hunters, they also realized not all ghosts were bad and accepted that for the sake of their friendship with the McGees. This would prove important, as two romantic relationships that later became marriages developed out of the children of these two families. It was at this wedding that Molly dropped a bombshell towards her husband – "Ollie, I'm pregnant". Ollie was happy to learn that his union was expecting their first child.
