Don't got much to say other than I don't own MGE other than my OCs. Enjoy!
"... Uh... Hi." I spoke to the being blocking our path, which was an owl mage. "Can I help you?" Wait, why am I even bothering to talk to her?
"I want to join you." It finally spoke since it landed in front of me.
"Uhhh, what do you mean?" I tried to feign ignorance, hoping they were not talking about what I thought they were talking about.
"You're not human, I can tell." once they said that I narrowed my eyes at it, and both Yondu and Illva 'woke' up and readied themselves. It backed up a bit fearful before it steeled itself and spoke again. "I don't wish to cause trouble. I... I am interested in your kind. Your powers are unique and, from the small glimpses I saw from your kind, advanced. Very advanced."
"And why should we let you?" Spoke Illva from behind us. "We don't have to do anything but just off you here. Espically now that you know what we are." At this point, the owl mage started to shake, but even then, they still spoke.
"I- I have my knowledge of this world! I-I-I also have my magic, and I could teach you our magic and how it works! Please, I don't mean any harm!" The owl mage looked desperate and was visibly shaking like she was cold. "You may even remove my essence if it'll make you trust me! I know what you're doing! I know how close you are. Please, I'll go through anything to make you trust me. I-I just want to learn from you all." The owl mage was now looking frantic and was actually crying a bit.
I guess she really does know how dangerous we are. "What do you think, guys?" I asked both Yondu and Illva.
"Gylnda will be pleased by another living test subject. Especially one that's willing. Hell, you even heard her; she's willing to go through the curing process to remove the corruption." Said Yondu, standing for the owl image. The owl mage also seemed to beam at the thought she may be accepted.
"Hmm... you do know we are still experimenting on this process, right, so there is no guarantee that you'll be "cured."" Said Illva, doing hand gestures with the curing part. "There's a high probability you'll die." At this, the owl mage visually blanked.
'How she do dat?' Shaking from my thoughts, I offer another solution. "Or maybe you can wait for a certain event to happen where you'll be guaranteed to be cured."
"How?!" the owl mage quickly replied, which caused all of us to flinch back a bit, even the owl mage.
"Heh, really want in on this, huh, kid?" Said Yondu. The owl mage nodded her head shyly. "Hm, alright. But you'll be put on a collar until the corruption is properly removed."
"That's fine; as long as I can learn new things from you all, I'm willing to do anything." She said with a determined voice.
"Hm, I like you. Alright, do we still have that tracker?" Said Yondu to Illva. Illva went into the carriage and came back with a black plastic collar. "Maybe a bit uncomfortable, but it'll do until we trust you more." The owl mage only nodded before she let Yondu place the collar on her. At that, Yondu motioned with his head for her to get on the carriage.
(3 more days later with Illva)
"... Can you stop staring, please," I said to the owl mage, who had been watching me with her unmoving gaze. The owl mage let out a small 'eep' that she'd been caught.
"S-sorry, I was just curious about the device you were using," she said, pointing at my portable gaming console. Looking at her and my game, I shrugged and told her.
"It's a device meant for playing games."
"Oh! What kind?" She said, eager to know what I was playing. Smiling, I beckoned her over and began teaching her how to play. Wait, how will she be able to play?
(Kellion)
"So, was it a good idea to leave Illva with the owl mage?" I asked Yondu.
"Bitch, I trust her more than you."
"What! Why?" Yondu only gave me a deadpan.
"You are obsessed with meat and an exotic food eater."
"Touché." We then continued to walk again for a bit in silence. "... Wait, why are we out here again?"
"Was told by Gylnda to plant a scanner beacon around this area."
"What for?"
"What else research with the environment, the essence in the air, and how it'll react to the stuff the beacon contains." Stated Yondu.
"huh, will it cause any problems?"
"Probably." I only grunted and continued to walk to said area. Once we reached the area, Yondu began setting up the beacon, and I wondered if there was anything else special.
(Later)
"Kell, you dumb piece of shit!" I said to myself as I got caught in an Arachne trap. As I struggled to free myself, I heard movements approaching my location. "Shit, shit, shit!" Soon, said the owner of footsteps showed themselves.
"Fu~fu~fu~ What do we get here." Said the Arachne suggestively.
"Fuck off, you bootleg crab-tasting piece of shit!"
"... What?" I didn't get to reply to her, and her head suddenly exploded into a mass of gore. Dropping limp onto the floor, Yondu stood behind the now-dead Arachne. His shotgun was smoking, and I knew what caused her gruesome demise.
"You know I won't let this go when I tell the others." He said before laughing.
"Oh fuck you, get me out of this!"
(Later)
"I'm surprised you're willing to eat with us," I said to the owl mage, who was now eating a portion of the Arachne. "I thought many 'monsters' would hate being a part of this."
"Oh, I did when I first discovered your book, but the more you kept updating the book on other mamano and their taste, the more curious I became." She responded before slurping the bowl of the Arachne.
"Hm, well then, welcome to the team," I said to her, which caused her to beam.
"I won't eat other harpies, though. It's already bad that I decided to try this." She said, looking down.
"Eh, we're all guilty of something, kid." Reassuring her.
-Entree-
[Arachne]
Basically, land crab. Their meat is slightly tougher, but the crab flavor stays minus the sea taste. The Arachne meat is delicious, but I don't often eat them because they are difficult to hunt, and how easily I can fall for their traps. But I will say they're worth it.
[Heart]
They are very tough but high in proteins and vitamins; plus, for some reason, they include a very peculiar aftertaste that just makes you want to eat more. Best cooked in a stew or chopped into pieces. Also goes well with curry.
[Liver]
High in vitamins, I would suggest eating only half of the liver due to how much they have. But the liver goes well in many things. It is just up to what you want to make with them. Best cooked over a stove than on an open fire.
[Other]
Sadly, I didn't find any other types of organs that were fit for consumption by others. The kidneys have high amounts of iron, the brain is very soft and makes people sick cause of it, and the intestines are coated with bacteria that'll be detrimental to the good bacteria in your gut.
-Update-
[Breasts]
Due to how big their breasts are, I decided to try them out. They have good amounts of fat and are good for cooking; the breast meat is also very good.
"So, how long have you had a game console with you?" I asked Illva while we watched Olivia play a game on said console. Yeah, the owl mage also told us her name, which was Olivia.
"Since we started this expedition," she said, still focusing on Olivia.
"Fack you." Which caused Illva to chuckle at me.
"Ha ha! I beat the high score!"
"WHAT!" Screamed Illva.
Devlin the bandit: Thanks, I like that you are enjoying my characters and their interactions. Plus I do enjoy righting their death since I like showing how little to no remorse they have for Mamano.
