Aboard Turles' ship:

Gartoas shook his head. It didn't seem they were ever going to pick up the ship the blue-haired Earth female had crafted. Turles was now planning on yet another venture that would delay that task.

But for the moment Turles was still smarting inwardly from the snippets of the conversation he'd overheard between the two Kabochan members of his team. His massive ego didn't take the female's remarks well in the least. Gartoas gulped as he spied the devilish grin that suddenly appeared on his commander's countenance. Following his line of sight, the Kardanagan realized that the most recent addition to the crew was about to become the latest victim of the Saiyan's machinations.

...

Kalanaz snapped her head up as the imposing figure of Turles appeared beside her. The Saiyan's sheer proximity was unnerving.

"Soooo, it has been brought to my attention that you have some...interest in me, " Turles declared.

The stunned Kabochan female could only gape in shock. Shock was quickly relaced by utter annoyance as the deserter of Frieza's forces made of an obvious show of rolling his shoulders so the muscles bunched and rippled beneath his dark skin. Was she supposed to be impressed?

"I certainly appreciate the sentiment but as things are I'm simply not available at this time. Not that I hold it against you in the least for your interest. Who could blame you after all? But do try not to take it too hard that I have to refuse to reciprocate, " the pirate commander continued.

Gartoas bit down on his thick leather gauntlet to keep from bursting into laughter.

Turles gave a dramatic bow and grandly swept away from the bridge.

...

Kalanaz's eyes blazed with anger as she stomped into the training room where Daiz was performing an elaborate kata.

"YOU!" she shrieked.

The confused Kabochan male fended off a kick from his enraged female counterpart. What had gotten into her? Why was she so angry?

"How dare you give Turles the notion that I was attracted to him? Not in a million years!" the furious she-pirate fumed.

"What makes you think I had anything to do with it?" Daiz asked as he blocked a punch.

"WHO ELSE COULD BE RESPONSIBLE?" Kalanaz screamed.

...

Planet Helganar:

At the Eilesan Market, Chi-Chi leaned over the tank that contained the emerald-hued fish Turles had demanded to be prepared for the evening meal. The Talayla could easily be seized by its long thin tail...

Goku's widow suddenly found her head and shoulders enveloped in darkness as something grabbed her! She pounded her fists on a wet scaly surface for what seemed like an eternity. The mother of Gohan was rapidly sucking in breaths of air after managing to get free of the aquatic nightmare that attempted to make a meal of her. Shaking his head, the merchant that owned the tank walked over.

"Oh my! It must truly be unsettling to almost become dinner while selecting something for dinner!" the chubby green rat lifeform declared while tittering slightly.

"Why is that vicious purple monstrosity even IN there? And you think this FUNNY? THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!" Chi-Chi screamed.

Turles suddenly appeared out of nowhere. He pushed a large of bag of coins into the rat-ling's eagerly outstretched appendage.

"DO excuse the woman's little dramatic display. I really can't take her anywhere. She should be grateful that she's even allowed out in public!"

The Saiyan effortlessly snatched his choice from the tank and slung it over his right shoulder. Using his left hand he seized Chi-Chi's right forearm, "Come along! You've caused enough embarrassment for today!"

The Ox-Princess seethed inwardly but kept silent as she was forced to keep up with Turles.

...

Turles' ship:

Daiz rubbed his right cheek gingerly. Kalanaz had struck him with all of her strength. No amount of reasoning with his stubborn crewmate could convince her that he'd had nothing to do with the antics of their Saiyan commander. He slowly made his way to the bridge.

"Ya shoulda struck er' back!" Gartoas snorted as he took in the sight of the female Kabochan's handiwork on the face of the former prince.

"You know I wouldn't strike her back!" Daiz huffed.

"Hmph! Ya give ah woman an' inch an' she'll be takin' ah few miles!" the Kardanagan snorted.

Just then Turles and Chi-Chi entered the bridge area. They had returned from a brief stop at planet Helganar.

"Ah believe ah see steam comin' outta tha' woman's ears!" Gartoas whispered over to Daiz.

Turles' second in command nodded in agreement. The dark-haired female looked madder than a doused Mari-cat.

One glance at Daiz and Turles knew exactly why he sported a blackened left eye, bruised right cheek and a split upper lip.

The Saiyan looked pensive for just a moment, "Oops!"

Then he exploded with laughter.

'I'm glad you're getting a laugh at my expense!' Daiz thought ruefully.

A sudden sharp pain in his left temple and a warning growl from Turles reminded the dark-green haired warrior that he had to be wary of even his thoughts where the pirate commander was concerned.

Chi-Chi almost lost her footing as Turles suddenly shoved the enormous fish he carried into her hands.

"Don't dawdle with the evening meal!" her nemesis barked.

"Of course not, Commander, " the Ox-Princess replied in a tight voice.

What she wouldn't give to smack him across the face with her slimy burden. The arrogant planet marauder had the nerve to snicker as if he could read her very thoughts. Chi-Chi shuddered as it crossed her mind that maybe Turles could read her mind and that's what he found so amusing. She hurried to the food preparation as fast as her feet could carry her.

...

Bulma rubbed her eyes and yawned as she finally finished repairing the severely damaged communication device Turles had brought to the lab earlier in the day. Even with her advanced skills, the minute pieces in the device took hours to reconstruct. Her eyelids continued to droop and in no time at all she was fast asleep.

The bluenette sat up in alarm as something ripped the communicator from her hand.

"If you'd spent more time diligently working on this than lying about at your leisure; it would have been ready for use hours ago!" Turles snapped.

The darling of Capsule Corps flushed with anger but dared not say a word in her defense. Her nails dug into her palms as she held back a snappy retort.

"THREE HOURS ON A SIMPLE SCOUTER? I'm seriously beginning to question your competence! Do try to be of some use while you are occupying this space I've so generously allowed you!" the Saiyan corsair snorted.

...

"Master Turles?"

Turles looked up from the chart he was reading, "What is it, Daiz?"

The Kabochan cleared his throat before speaking as he wasn't quite sure how the Saiyan would react to what he was going to say.

"Commander, there are three women aboard this ship that would like to strangle you."

"Is that so?" Turles demanded sharply.

Daiz swallowed hard, maybe it wasn't the wisest thing to reveal such a situation to Turles.

"Well that's a relief! For a while there I thought I was losing my touch!" the Terror of the South Quadrant chortled before he turned his attention back to the chart.

The lone survivor of the Crusher Corps blinked in disbelief at the response to his report.

"There are no words, " Daiz muttered.

He hadn't meant to say that out loud!

"Precisely, Daiz, I'm quite aware that a marvel such as myself is indescribable."

...

Planet Bernizarrfter:

Daiz sighed. Of all the planets for Turles to send him on an errand to... the Saiyan just HAD to pick this one! He hadn't set foot on this world since Markelia had made it her new home. There was no telling where the lovely Dayogien could be at the present time. No doubt some lucky soul had claimed her as their mate by now.

'No sense in thinking about what might have been. She's out of your life now so deal with it!' the Kabochan pirate mentally scolded himself.

After a few moments in a questionable establishment, Daiz had the information Turles sought from one of the many spies he employed. It took some effort to keep tabs on Frieza's dealings. Now he could leave this place and get back to the ship.

As Daiz began to make his way to the exit of the bustling marketplace that surrounded the planet's business district; he heard a feminine scream...

..

"Lord Turles, your orders have been fulfilled, " a male voice called out over Turles' scouter.

"Excellent, you know where to collect your payment, Gravis, "Turles replied.

"Lord Turles, are you not concerned about the female involved in this? That she could possibly be harmed?"

"That is not your concern, Gravis. But rest assured that Daiz would never allow it."

'Whatta' ya up to now Turles?' Gartoas wondered.

From the expression on the face of the pirate from Hell itself, he probably didn't want to know...

...
