A penthouse in New York City, afternoon

"I didn't know you had a sister," Marinette said to Chloe.

"Don't feel bad, I didn't know my sister had any friends until recently," Zoe laughed.

"Zoe, you're embarrassing me," Chloe said her cheeks red.

"I'm sorry sis it's just you've changed so much over the summer. You've grown up a lot." Zoe said putting her arm around Chloe's shoulders an action Chloe would not have tolerated four months ago.

"Well, in my defense getting punched in the face by a superhero on a live worldwide stream can make a girl examine her life choices. Not that I hold what happened against Ladybug I did have it coming." Chloe said.

"Crystal when you finish showing your little friends around our penthouse join me for supper in the formal dining room, you as well Zelda," Audrey said before exiting the room.

"Yes, mother," Zoe said.

"Of course, mommy," Chloe said.

"Hey, I'm wondering about something. Does your mom know your real names?" Ayla asked.

"Ayla!" Marinette said.

"It isn't so bad," Zoe said with a shrug.

"Speak for yourself Zeo. There are not as many names that begin with the letter Z as there are with the letter C." Chloe only half-joked.

"Pointed taken," Zeo said. The siblings then laughed together. They had become closer than ever via many hours of Zoom chats while Chloe was recovering from her spring-time misadventure.

Marinette could not help but smile. It was nice seeing Chloe happy it made her happy. God, who would have thought it Marinette worrying about Chloe's emotional well-being? Life sure did work out in strange ways.

Chloe had not smiled since the Jealvion incident or more precisely since Sabrina stopped talking to Chloe, or anyone else at school for that matter. Everyone assumed Sabrina was embarrassed because of Jealvion's very public love confessions. No matter the exact cause, the shy girl had retreated further into herself. Chloe told whoever asked that whenever she tried to speak with Sabrina the girl told Chloe to leave her alone. The old Chloe would only have pushed harder but the new Chloe respected Sabrina's decision as much as she hated it.

"So, are things still on the rocks with Sabrina?" Zoe asked removing her arm from Chloe's shoulders.

"Yes," Chloe said. "I feel guilty."

"Hey, sis, it isn't your fault. We all know you can be a brat sometimes." Zoe said everyone readily agreed.

"Hey, now," Chloe said.

"But, someone telling you that they romantically love you, especially a friend can be rough and the circumstances were beyond bad. The big question is, how do you feel?" Zoe said.

"Are you asking if I feel the same way about Sabrina she feels about me?" Chloe said Zoe nodded. "I'm not sure. I do care about Sabrina and she is cute in a nerdy kind of way but I don't if I love her like two people in love do. But I am sure of one thing, I don't want to lose Sabrina. I want her in my life. She is dear to me."

"I see," Zoe said. "Seems you have to figure this out before your relationship with Sabrina can move on in whatever form you two decide." Chloe did not say anything instead her eyes studied the intricate floor panels. "Whatever you decide I have your back, sis," Zoe added.

"So do we," Marinette said elbowing Ayla.

"Yup, we have your back, Chloe," Ayla said.

"Thanks, girls, your support means a lot to me," Chloe said.

Block Party, evening

"Hands off buddy," Chloe said pulling Sabrina and the boy apart. The pair had been dancing together and were getting increasingly close.

"What the heck," The boy said confused. "Who are you?"

"Never mind who I am. You shouldn't be getting so handsy with Sabrina, Mr. Handsy." Chloe said.

"I wasn't getting handsy." The boy said. "Sabrina, do you know this girl?"

"I used to work for her," Sabrina said with an uncharacteristically annoyed expression on her face.

"You didn't work for me! We were friends!" Chloe said stunned by Sabrina's words.

"We were never friends, Chloe. You used me. I was only ever your servant. I see that now." Sabrina said as a hint of regret ghosted across her face.

"You're wrong! And who is this guy anyway!? I bet you just met him! Do you even like him!?" Chloe said becoming angry.

"I like him very much for your information," Sabrina said. Their argument was getting very heated very fast.

"I don't believe you!" Chloe said.

"You don't know what I like or don't like!" Sabrina said.

"Yeah right, I might not know what you like but I know what or rather who you love!" Sabrina looked at Chloe with wide eyes mouthing the words 'please no'. Chloe falling back into her old ways added with a smirk. "I know you love me! When Akumatized you kept telling everyone how much you love me, me, not him, me!" The moment the words left her mouth Chloe knew she had made a terrible mistake. "Sabrina, I'm sor-" Chloe began but the words died in her throat.

"Wait, you two are together. I'm no relationship wrecker, sorry." The boy said backing away.

Sabrina's eyes filled with tears. She ran off before anyone could stop her. An uncomfortable silence descended over the formerly ruckus gathering.

"Chloe you shouldn't have said those things," Adrien said.

"Nah, I for one enjoyed the show. Bravo Chloe, nicely done." Lila said clapping loudly. Chloe glared daggers at the other girl.

"You would, you're heartless Lila," Marinette said.

"Rude much, medical condition remember? I can't help it." Lila said feigning offense.

"Right," Marinette said rolling her eyes.

"Come along children this has gone on long enough. We should return to the hotel at once." Gabriel said. To the surprise of everyone Gabriel with minimal prodding from Adrien and Marinette agreed to be a chaperone for the American trip. Once she learned Gabriel would be a chaperon Lila's "charity work" commitments back home in Paris seemingly evaporated.

"I agree Mr. Agreste let's put this nasty business behind us," Lila said grabbing Gabriel's hand.

Gabriel quickly freed his hand from Lila's intrusive grip. "Adrien, Marinette could you please retrieve Sabrina so we may depart." He said.

"Of course, father," Adrien said.

"Right away, Mr. Agreste," Marinette said remaining formal because this was an official school trip.

Hotel the next day, afternoon

"I can get it back," Lila said.

"Excuse me, and what are you doing in my room?" Hawk Moth demanded.

"Please, getting in here it was no problem. I told the guards you're my uncle if you must know. Sucks we are under lockdown due to the supervillain attack, huh? You can't get out without being seen." Lila said with a sly look. "I know the Akumatized supervillain Techno Pirate, terrible name by the way, is about to be defeated by LadyBug and her band of merry morons. Once the fool is defeated they'll take the Eagle Miraculous for their own but I can prevent that from happening if we move quickly."

"How?" Hawkmoth asked eyeing her suspiciously. Thus far he and his ever-loyal and efficient assistant Nathalie had discovered nothing of value about Lila's background. The mysterious girl was a true enigma. An enigma who on paper did not exist before arriving in Paris about a year ago.

"I require the Peacock Miraculous. I know you brought it with you." Lila said putting out her hand expectantly.

"No, why should I give you one of my two remaining Miraculous? I don't trust you, Lila assuming Lila is your real name." Hawk Moth said.

"Fair enough, I didn't want to do this, but there is no other choice. I hate resorting to such a tactic." Lila said with a loud sigh. She beckoned Hawk Moth to come closer. Reluctantly he bent down. "You'll be able to confirm part of what I'm about to tell you once we return to Paris. No more lies between us. The truth is I'm..." Lila whispered in his ear.

Statue of Liberty, not long afterward

"Fantastic work everyone, take a bow." Said the young Peacock Miraculous user. She closely resembled a miniature version of Mayura.

"Where did you come from?" Ladybug asked.

'Good, only Ladybug and Chat Noir were present the other heroes of Paris were busy evacuating civilians in case the situation went south, this will be easy.' Phanastasia (Phan-ah-stay-sah) thought. "I'm Phanastasia daughter and apprentice of the stupendous Hawkmoth. Daddy sent me here to retrieve our property, the Eagle Miraculous. Hand it over, or else." She said from her position sitting on a spire of the statue's crown.

"No way," Chat Noir said.

"I was hoping you'd say that," Phanastasia said with a grin. She snapped her fingers. Suddenly the site was bathed in a sickly yellow-green light. The heroes of Paris and New York alike along with the defeated villains and police present found themselves turned to stone! The only one unaffected was Phanastasia.

"I wonder, are any of you Yugioh fans? Don't answer, not that you can. All you need to do is listen. I was a huge fan of Yugioh when I was a little girl. " Phanastasia said jumping down from her perch. "May I introduce my first Sentimonster the paralysingly handsome Gorgon-Zhoula inspired by the classic Yugioh monster card Thousand Eyes Idol. If its eyes are on you game over, it's stone city until I advert my lovely creature's gaze."

Hovering above the scene was a bloated gray-brown potato-like blob with many eyes and just as many slimy tentacles. Phanastasia plucked the Eagle Miraclous from Sparrow's hand. "Back where you belong, Daddy will be pleased, toodles," Phanastasia said with a wave. About a minute after Phanastasia departed with Gargon-Zhoula the heroes reverted to normal.

Up Next – Season Four Episode Three

Author's Note One -

This was only a mini-chapter because other than the scenes I added along with the (important) ending, I picture events (mostly) going down the same as in canon. Not to worry, future chapters will go back to the long-form format of the previous two chapters (likely longer and more detailed) and will feature (mostly) original content as we diverge further from canon.

Author's Note Two -

I have plans both short-term (evil) and long-term (good) for the Eagle Miraculous. I felt leaving it in America with a user we will never likely see again in canon (other than maybe a brief cameo) or in this story would be a major waste of narrative potential.
