Authors Notes- Here I am back again with yet another chapter to Rude Awakenings. Sorry it's taken me forever to get back to this fic, life y'know? But rambling aside as you can gather I don't own Transformers. That belongs to Hasbro. I only own Riley Jones. Now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter Two. I hope you enjoy.
Chapter Two: Decepticons.
If someone had told Riley that at some point today she would be going from taking a peaceful stroll through the woods to be held captive by a giant, cackling robot. She would have told them that they were bull crapping her. There was absolutely no way that was happening, no way she was being carried through the woods by the robot, who seemed to bringing her to someone called Megatron. What a stupid name.
Growling Riley struggled in Cyclonus' grip, pounding her fists on unyielding metal fingers. Hitting him so hard she broke the skin on her knuckles, tears welling in her eyes.
"Let. Me. Go!" Riley ground out.
"Be quiet." Cyclonus growled back, green optics narrowing slightly, and his grip tightening just a fraction. "Or I might just squeeze a little too hard, and oopsy human juices all over the place."
Cyclonus brought Riley up close to his face plate, a wide, insane grin on it. "And I've heard you humans really pop. I've always wanted to see that for myself." As Cyclonus said that he began to squeeze. Fear gripped Riley further, her struggles intensifying as he did so when-
"Cyclonus! Starscream! Have you located that Minicon?" A new voice shouted, startling Cyclonus enough to loosen his grip on Riley slightly.
"N-not yet Megatron, sir. But I discovered this human roaming around." As Cyclonus said this Riley looked to the one called Megatron. And came face to face with a large green and purple robot.
And despite her fear she forced herself to get a good look at this Megatron and nearly laughed when she took a look at his head. And while she tried, really, really tried not to laugh but she couldn't help it. Megatron had to be the most ridiculous looking robot she had ever seen, not that she any experience with giant robots prior to today. But Megatron looked like a damned moose. All optics were on the giggling Riley, Megatron arching an optic brow at the small human.
"What is this?" Megatron asked, glaring at Cyclonus. "I sent you to find that blasted Minicon, and you bring back a worthless human child?!"
Grim satisfaction formed in Riley's chest as Cyclonus flinched. "W-well, I thought that if the Autobots got their grubby little hands on the Minicons first we could use this human..." Cyclonus trailed off, glancing down at Riley, optics narrowing slightly. "..girl to bargain with."
Megatron pondered over Cyclonus' suggestion, before a cruel grin split on Megatron's face plate. "For once, Cyclonus you've come up with a good idea."
Oh no, Riley thought. I don't like the sounds of this, and just who are the Autobots?! What exactly had she gotten into? Megatron turned away from Cyclonus and Starscream along with their newest acquisition and stalked off, joining a bulky tan Decepticon as well as an black Decepticon. Riley could hear Megatron call these two new Decepticons Demolisher and Wheeljack. But what got Riley's attention was the one called Wheeljack informing Megatron that he had located the Minicon.
Megatron's mood seemed to lighten at this bit of news as Wheeljack pointed in the direction of where this Minicon was located. "Move out men!" Megatron ordered.
And before Riley could really register what was happening, Megatron, Demolisher, Wheeljack along with Starscream and Cyclonus transformed. Her eyes widening as what where once giant robots standing before her were now various vehicles. From tanks, to a solitary normal looking black car, to a jet, and finally to Cyclonus. Who transformed into a helicopter...with hands. She guess that this was how these guys got from point A to point B without being noticed.
Crying out Riley gripped Cyclonus' fingers as the he took to the sky. If Riley hated heights before she most certainly hated them now! Gritting her teeth she squeezed her eyes closed. She wanted this to be over, she wanted to go home. However, this seemed to be the least of her problems as someone suddenly fired on Cyclonus, making both Cyclonus and Riley cry out. Soon they were overcome with gunfire. From where Riley had no idea, but it seemed to cement her desire to go home.
Cyclonus muttered something Riley could only assume was a curse in some language she didn't know as Cyclonus dodged more blasts before transforming again. Wasting not a moment more Cyclonus and the other Decepticons opened fire on what Riley could only assume where the Autobots. She didn't know exactly what was going on, but based on what she was currently enduring it was safe to say that Megatron and his buddies weren't on the side of good.
"Stay here, and don't you dare try and move girly." Cyclonus growled, as he placed Riley on the branch of a tree. Great. So much for making her escape while these Decepticons were distracted.
Cyclonus had placed her high enough that the climb down would be a time consuming chore, and not only that the branches of this tree were too far apart. So, unless Riley felt like free-falling from a tree and breaking bones in the process then it was safe to say she was stuck. Blaster fire soon replaced with the sounds of fighting. Metal striking against metal, and pained cries sounding all around her. She so needed to get out of here. Looking down she then looked to the robots, perhaps she could get down without hurting herself. Maybe she would be able to jump to the next tree and then climb down. It sounded absurd but it was better than sitting here waiting for that psycho Cyclonus to return.
Biting down on her bottom lip Riley took a deep breath and jumped... and missed. Her eyes widening as she plummeted to the ground below. Well, she thought, this sucks. Squeezing her eyes shut as she waited to hit the ground, for her life to be cut short. All because she decided to go for a walk in the woods on this day. Her mom always warned her of the dangers of wandering through the woods alone. But did she listen? No! And now she was going to meet her end in them, deep in these woods where nobody would find her. Where scavengers of all sorts would pick her bones clean. However, fate seemed to have other plans, no surprise there. As before Riley could hit the ground the black Decepticon, Wheeljack grabbed for her. Blue optics blazing as he looked down at her.
"You tryin' to escape?" He growled, bring her up to his face plate..
"No, I wanted to see if I could fly." Riley snapped.
A low growl was her answer as Wheeljack gripped her tighter. Oh yeah, if she got through this she would definitely have some bruises.
"Wheeljack!" A new voice shouted, getting Wheeljack's attention as he turned around, coming face to face with a yellow Autobot. Or so Riley assumed, for all she knew he could be another... if the supposed good guys were the Autobots then what were they? Riley thought as she looked to Wheeljack, who was busy glaring at the yellow newcomer.
Anger radiating off of them in waves. "Let the human go!" The yellow one demanded.
"Tell you what," Wheeljack said, holding Riley by the back of her her shirt, and swinging her back and forth, as Riley flailed around. "Hand over the Minicon and I'll give you this human."
That seemed to anger the yellow Autobot further. "Never!" He snarled, his grip tightening on the blaster he was aiming at Wheeljack. "We'll never give the Minicon to you Decepticon creeps."
"Always so stubborn, Hotshot. That'll be the death of you one day." Wheeljack snarled.
Okay. So the bad guys were called Decepticons. A real fitting name. Riley thought, for a bunch of metal jerks.
"Funny, I was thinking the same about you pal." Hotshot shot back.
Anger radiated off of Wheeljack as he placed Riley on a branch, this time a bit lower to the ground than Cyclonus had. Riley's eyes widening as Wheeljack charged at the one called Hotshot. And Riley, never one to give up slid off the branch, and dropped to the ground, and ran. Trying her best to get away from the onslaught of giant robots battling each other. Leaves and twigs slapped at her face, and grabbed at her clothes but still she did not stop, could not stop, not until she was far away from the monsters. Maybe she would find away home, she knew her folks would be mad that she was gone, well, that was something she was willing to deal with compared to the latter.
In fact, if she was being honest after today she would never step out of her house ever again. Sadly, fate had other ideas for poor Riley. As the poor girl soon found herself in a dead end. A large rock wall barred her escape as she looked up at it. But that wasn't what caught her attention as she caught sight of a glowing green thing lodged in the wall a couple feet above her head. Was that...the Minicon the Autobots and Decepticons were after?
Or perhaps knowing her luck it was some sort of radioactive thing that would give her some sort of uncurable cancer. Stepping away from the rock wall, Riley's heart skipped a beat when she heard someone come up behind her. Not wasting another moment she hid behind one of the rocks, peering out behind it she saw the yellow Autobot from before step into view.
Blue optics lighting up as they settled on the glowing green object stuck in the rock wall. Letting out a triumphant as he plucked it from the wall with ease, a wide grin on his face plate, Apparently it was one of the Minicons they had been looking for. Riley's eyes widening as the glow intensified, and the glowing green disk was replaced with a small robot. Hotshot cheered as the little robot let out a string of beeps as it say perched on Hotshot's shoulder. However, movement soon caught Riley's attention as she saw Wheeljack creep up behind Hotshot, blaster trained on him. A sick grin on his face plate.
"Hotshot, watch out! Riley shouted before she could stop herself. Hotshot whirled around, jumping out of the way as Wheeljack's shot went wide, and struck the rock wall behind him.
Hotshot returned fire and caught Wheeljack in the shoulder, making him stagger back, an enraged growl escaping him as he charged at Hotshot. His fist connecting with Hotshot's faceplate. Soon both bots were trading blows as Riley continued on. It seemed to go on forever until Hotshot knocked Wheeljack to the ground. The Decepticon was motionless as Hotshot stepped over him, a triumphant look on his face plate. It would seem that the Autobot had forgotten about her as he disappeared with the little robot, no, Minicon in tow. And if Riley was being honest she was perfectly fine with that. She had her fill of giant robots to last her a long, long while. Stepping out from her hiding place she glanced warily at Wheeljack as she moved past him.
Now she just needed to find her way home. However, things were never that easy as a pained groan reached her ears. Looking over her shoulder she let out a startled scream as Wheeljack slowly picked himself up, angry blue optics fixed on her.
"You..." he growled, as Riley backed away from him. "You'll pay for what you did!" He roared, and before Riley could get away his fingers closed in on her, and she was once again lifted off the ground, and brought up to Wheeljack's face plate.
Denta bared, anger radiating off of him in waves, sending chills down her spine. Growling again Wheeljack slowly began to squeeze her, fear gripped Riley's poor heart as he did so. This would not be a quick death, Wheeljack was sure of that as the humans struggles intensified. However, before Wheeljack could follow through on that Megatron came over his comm.
*Wheeljack, return here immediately!* Megatron ordered. Looking down at the terrified human in his hand. A new thought formed in Wheeljack's mind as he headed to where the rest of the Decepticons were.
All of them looking worst for wear. And Megatron. Wheeljack noted, was furious. They had lost to the Autobots once again. And the Decepticons would pay once they returned to the base. But maybe, Wheeljack thought, as he approached his leader.
"Megatron, sir." Wheeljack spoke, stepping forward. "I have this human-"
"Hey! That's the human I found!" Cyclonus shouted, reaching for the girl, only to have Wheeljack pull his hand away.
"And why Wheeljack are you bringing me this human?" Megatron growled.
Wheeljack chewed on his bottom lip, as he looked down at the struggling human. Wheeljack rubbed at the back of his head. "W-well, I figured we'd have use for this human. And if not she is the reason I lost the Minicon to Hotshot so..." Wheeljack's optics narrowed as he looked down at Riley, squeezing slightly.
Megatron placed a hand on his chin as he looked down at the human girl, an idea forming in his mind. The Autobots obviously found a use for Earth's inhabitants, knowing that on more than one occasion it was solely because of the human children that the Autobots had been victorious on more than one occasion. Perhaps it could be the same for them?
"Fine, we'll take her with us." Megatron said after a while.
Dread formed in the pit of poor Riley's stomach as Megatron said this, tears welled in her eyes as all optics were on her.
All Riley wanted to do was go home. However, before she could protest, and plead her case Megatron turned away from her. "Return to base, men."
And before poor Riley could register what was happening Megatron and his men walked away, with the unwilling human in tow. Now, Riley was really regretting leaving her house this morning.
