Episode 3: Blood Ties

Ancient Egypt

1700 B.C.

Vandal Savage was in his study unaware that a mysterious man in a hood holding a knife was sneaking up behind him. Savage soon noticed the stranger and defended himself. "Who are you?" he asked. The man removed his hood to reveal that he was none other than Rip Hunter. "The man who's here to kill you." Rip answered as he prepared to attack.

Leipzig

1975

The Waverider landed in Germany. "We've arrived in Leipzig, Germany, the most current location for Vandal Savage." Gideon informed Rip. "And by the way, Captain, you are urgently needed in the MedBay." Rip, Randy, and Steven followed the sound of alarms to the MedBay to find Star groaning in pain. Her injury from Savage was growing worse. "I thought you said she was gonna be ok." Steven exclaimed. "Apparently not." Rip retorted. "Gideon turn that bloody alarm off!" Star then fell asleep. "Is she…?" Randy asked. "Relax Mr. Cunningham Gideon just gave her a sedative. But obviously her condition is worsening." Steven and Randy tried their healing abilities but they proved to be ineffective on a mewman. Rip then took an x-ray of Star and saw the problem. "Oh, my God."

The team soon gathered on the bridge to discuss their current situation. "Pieces of the dagger have apparently broken off and are, as we speak, en route to Star's heart." Rip explained. "Can't we just time jump to the future and get the stuff to fix her?" Ben asked. "This ship is from that very future and has, thus far, been unsuccessful in saving her life." Rip stated. "Star wouldn't survive the trip anyway." Danny added. Rip looked at him confused. "What, I pay attention." "So to sum up, Star is close to dying, Vandal Savage is still on the loose, and we're currently stuck in 1975." Kim said. "Is that how the plan was supposed to go, Rip?" asked Jenny.

"Obviously not." Rip answered. "But the mission is simple. We stop Vandal Savage here in the past and we save the future." "Simple doesn't always mean easy Captain." Dipper retorted. "Oh, I never said it was. The benefit of being a Time Master is that the length and breadth of history gives one…perspective. I've seen plenty of dark days. I've seen men of steel die and dark knights fall and even then, I accomplished my mission no matter what." Rip said. "Gideon what's our status?" "When the Waverider was attacked by Chronos, one of the Jumpships was damaged. Unless repairs are made, we will be unable to…" "Wait, Jumpships?" Jenny asked. "They're small expeditionary vessels at the belly of the Waverider. You have built in tools why don't you work on repairs." Rip suggested.

"I don't know the first thing about fixing a time machine." Jenny complained. "Gideon can help download the ship schematics into your mainframe. Then you'll know how." Rip countered. Jenny sighed. "Fine. Danny could you guys give me a hand?" "Sure." he answered as they headed for the ships. "So should the rest of us just sit and relax?" Mabel asked. "Capital idea, Miss Pines." Rip said. Rip then retreated into his study looking a picture of his wife and son in his pocket watch. "Is that your son?" Kim asked noticing the picture. "He looks like you." "I'd like to be alone for a moment; if you don't mind." Rip requested looking upset. "You don't actually have a plan, do you?" Rip just looked away. "And that speech wasn't about convincing us. It was about convincing you." Kim realized. "It didn't work, did it?" Rip shook his head. "Not particularly, no. Hence my desire to be alone."

Kim then had an idea. "So we can't kill Savage." "Oh, I see you've grasped the concept of immortality, well done." Rip said sarcastically. Kim looked annoyed. "But maybe we can slow him down." Rip looked confused. "How?" "Back in Norway, Savage was trying to 'sell' a nuclear bomb. Why?" Rip then realized where this was going. "Money is power." Kim smiled. "Exactly. If we take away Savage's fortune, he's just a guy with a really long lifespan." Rip was liking this plan. "It certainly would set his plan for world domination back a few decades. Maybe long enough for us to come up with a plan to take him down for good." Kim nodded. "So where does Vandal Savage keep his money in 1975?"

In the MedBay, Dipper, Steven, and Ben were trying to come up with a solution to save Star's life. "Ok so as you can see, the knife fragments are moving through her bloodstream." Dipper said pointing at the x-ray. "They're currently making their way to her heart. If they reach it, Star will die." "Well my healing powers don't work on her so what do we do?" Steven asked concerned. "Well I'd suggest Gideon perform surgery but the pieces are too small and there's no technology on the ship that can remove them." Dipper pointed out.

Ben then snapped his fingers. "Actually there is. The Omnitrix." Dipper and Steven looked confused. "I'll turn into 'Nanomech' slip into her blood and destroy those fragments." "You sure you can handle that?" Steven asked. Ben gave a confident smile. "Of course I can. I'm awesome." Dipper wasn't liking this plan. "I don't know Ben. You'll be going inside another person's body swimming through blood. Maybe we should keep thinking." "There's no time!" Ben argued. "Those fragments are moving closer to her heart every second we have to act now. I'm doing this."

"Gideon! Where's Savage's money now?" Rip asked the AI. "Professor Boardman theorized that Savage entrusted it to the Bruemberg Group, the oldest bank in the world." she answered. "Great, I'll go tell the others." Kim said Rip stopped her. "That won't be necessary, I'm going alone." Kim was shocked to hear this. "I'm sorry but I can't put anymore of you in danger." Rip stated. "But you're ok with putting yourself in danger is that it?" Kim countered. "You can't go there without backup." Rip sighed. "Look, I brought you all with me under false pretenses. Star wouldn't have gotten hurt if it wasn't for me." Kim shook her head. "Star knew the risks when she agreed to join our crew. And despite your lies everyone here is willing to follow you to the end."

"I can't risk the whole team." Rip stated. Kim sighed. "Fine. Then just me. And if it helps, I'm not giving you a choice, I'm going with you to that bank." Suddenly Randy and Mabel walked in. "You guys are robbing a bank?" Randy asked confused. "Can we come?" "Your services aren't required Mr. Cunningham. This is purely reconnaissance." "Come on, we're bored just sitting on the ship all day." Mabel complained. "Look, this mission doesn't require either of your services. Miss possible and I will handle it." Rip and Kim then left for the Brumberg Group. Mabel then turned to Randy. "Forget them, I have a fun idea."

In the MedBay, Ben (as "Nanomech") was swimming through Star's blood looking for the knife fragments. "All right, where am I heading?" Ben asked. Dipper was staring at an x-ray acting as a guide. "You're exiting the tracheal artery. You should see the first fragment soon." "I don't see anything. Did I miss it?" "That thing is the size of an iceberg at your size. Theres no way you could've missed it." Ben then saw the fragment. "Wait, I see it. Let's see if all those years of playing videogames paid off." Ben then proceeded to blast it with his energy blasts. Steven was observing Star's vitals and noticed that she was getting better. "It's working keep it up." Before Ben could blast the next one some of the fragments hit him and he got hurt. "I have to get out." Ben said panicking. "You can't there are still 19 more." Dipper pointed out. "I have to get out NOW!" Ben said as he exited. Steven and Dipper looked at each other with concern.

Kim and Rip arrived at the Bruemberg Group disguised as some big wigs. They arrived at the front desk where a woman was writing some stuff down. "Excuse me." Rip said getting her attention. "We'd like to deposit some family heirlooms." She shook her head. "I'm sorry, we're a private bank. We don't secure valuables worth less than $10 million." Rip smiled. "Well, I'm sure this will suffice." he said as he placed a suitcase on the desk and opened it showing six gold coins. "Doubloons from the wreck of the 'Esplinade'. They've been appraised at $10 million dollars…per piece." The woman smiled and guided them to the office of the bank manager, a man simply called Mr. Blake. He was a blonde man wearing a grey suit with a black tie and black shoes.

He and Rip shook hands as they finished their business. "You won't regret your decision." Blake said as he took the case. "The Bruemberg Group is known for its discretion." "I'm sure there'll be a fair deal of paperwork to sign." said Rip. Mr. Blake shook his head. "Not too much, we like to cut through the red tape here." He then proceeded to leave. "Let me get this to one of our safe deposit boxes, and I'll get my secretary to move in on this paperwork."

Once he left Rip proceeded to hack the computer while Kim kept watch. "This can't be right. I can't find any records of any of Savage's money here." Kim started to grow worried. "We have a problem." "Yes, I know none of Savage's funds are in this bank. I'm working to figure out where they are but I'm not sure I'll do so before our new friend returns." "Yeah, to kill us." Rip looked at Kim as she explained. "The receptionist had a silenced Beretta under her desk. The guards, South African mercenaries you can tell by the initiation burns on their necks. And our new friend here has calluses on his right hand consistent with being Kuroda-trained swordsmen." "How do you know that?" "Because I've seen similar calluses on some ninja friends of mine which probably means these guys have just figured out that we're not Rockefellers who just came into their inheritance." Rip ignored her warning. "Oh, don't be so alarmist. Calluses are hardly definitive proof of anything."

The bank workers then came back all armed with weapons. "Pretty sure they made us." Kim pointed out. "Well, if this is how you treat your customers, we might just have to take our business elsewhere." said Rip. As one of the goons was approaching Kim grabbed the nameplate off the desk and threw it at him. "What are you doing?" Rip asked. "Fighting for my life." Kim answered. Kim then proceeded to fight back against the others. One goon tried to throw a punch but Kim bent out of the way and delivered a kick to the face. She then leapt forward doing a summersault turned around and karate chopped another guy. "Where did you learn to fight again?" Rip asked. "From cheerleading." Kim answered. Suddenly, Blake attacked her with a katana.

The remaining goons came at Rip. One of them threw a punch. Rip dodged it and used the nearby coat rack as a weapon. The fight ended with Kim and Rip knocking out all of the workers. They decided to take Blake back to the ship for interrogation.

After hours of work Jenny and Danny had just finished making repairs on the Jumpship when Mabel and Randy walked in. "This ship is so bruce." Randy said admiring the vessel. "What are you guys doing here?" Danny asked. "Looking for something to do." Randy answered. Mabel then got an idea. "Jenny, those plans Rip gave you. They wouldn't happen to include how to fly this thing would it?" Jenny looked through her matrix. "Uh yeah, why?" "I was hoping we could take a little trip." Mabel said. "Where did you want to go?" Jenny asked. "Glass Shard Beach, New Jersey." Mabel answered. Both Jenny and Danny looked at Randy. "What? Like I know what goes on in her head." Randy retorted. Danny then asked what everyone was thinking. "Why do you want to go there?" "Let's just say it's a matter of family." Mabel answered. They finally gave in and agreed to the trip.

Meanwhile Dipper and Steven were trying to help Ben rid Star of her knife fragments. "Ok I've been reviewing the plan and I think I found a way for you to move through Star's blood safely." Dipper pointed out. "So next time you'll…" "There's not gonna be a next time." Ben interjected. "Come on, you just had a bad crash, you can learn from it." Steven assured him. "And what if I can't. This is a friend's life were talking about. If I mess up, she dies." "Look, i don't know where this fear coming from but that mini alien form of yours is the only hope Star has." Dipper stated. Ben just walked away upset.

In an empty room, Rip pulled a burlap sack off Blake's head and began to interrogate him. "I'm gonna make this very simple for you, Mr. Blake. You tell us where Vandal Savage is hiding his fortune and we will let you leave here unharmed." Blake just smiled. "Vandal Savage…is that the name you know him by?" "Let's assume so, yes." Rip answered. "And what is your name…Gareeb?" Blake asked. Rip's eyes widened upon hearing that name while Kim just looked confused. "Gareeb?" "It's a legend that's been passed down for 4,000 years." Blake explained. "Before my master was bestowed the gift of immortality, an enemy tried to kill him. Every myth has its monster, its devil. For those of our order, it's him, the Gareeb."

Rip started to grow angry. "I'd stop talking if I were you, mate." But Blake wouldn't stop. "If I were you, I'd run. Your friend has already failed to kill my master once he won't be able to protect you. In fact, I highly doubt he's ever been able to protect anyone." Rip finally had enough and punched Blake, knocking him out. He then proceeded to leave when Kim stopped him. "What did he mean you already tried to kill Savage?" she asked. "Leave it be Kim." Rip requested but Kim refused to let this go. "No, if you want us to do this then…" "YES, OKAY!" Rip shouted. "Yes, I-I had the chance to kill Savage once before. I had him dead to rights and then at the last moment I hesitated."

Rip then thought back to that day in Egypt. Savage used his staff as a weapon and took a swing at Rip's head. Rip dodged and threw a punch, hitting Savage in the face. Rip then pinned Savage to the wall and held a knife to his throat. But when push came to shove, Rip couldn't bring himself to deliver the final blow. Suddenly guards entered the room and grabbed Rip by his arms. "Get off of me, ahh." Rip demanded but the guards refused to loosen their grip. Savage then walked up to him. "I asked you a question. Who are you, Gareeb?" Back in the present, Kim put a hand on his shoulder. "Killing is never easy, especially for a good man like you." Rip shook his head. "The man killed my wife and son and god knows how many wives and sons, and yet I couldn't…I failed them."

Meanwhile Mabel, Randy, Danny, and Jenny arrived in Glass Shard Beach for Mabel's 'mission'. "Ok, now will you tell us why we're here?" Randy asked. Mabel sighed. "I'm trying to prevent my uncles from hating each other." They all looked confused. "On this day, my great uncle Stan takes a walk at the high school and accidently ruins his brother Ford's invention out of anger." Mabel explained. Because of that he gets disowned by his family, Ford doesn't get into his dream college, and they end up hating each other for over 40 years. And that hatred leads to both of them making bad decisions." Danny realized where this was going. "You're gonna try and stop him from wreaking the machine. Aren't you?" Mabel nodded. "Didn't Rip say that messing with the past could badly affect the future?" Jenny pointed out. "Yes, but if I help my family, shouldn't I?" Mabel argued.

Back in the interrogation room, Rip and Kim resumed their conversation with Blake. "Let's try this again." Rid said with determination in his voice. Blake just smirked. "Back for more?" "Where is Savage's fortune?" "Somewhere only he and his closest followers know about. If you want more information, they'll all be at a special ceremony in the master's honor tonight." Rip was intrigued by this information. "Where is this event being held?" "The Greyhill Building." Kim grew suspicious of this. "You clearly want us to go so we can get ourselves killed." "Clearly." "What is happening at this party tonight?" Rip asked. Blake laughed. "This party will include a very special ritual where the master will reward his most faithful with a special gift." Kim and Rip left the room preparing to go to the party. "Gideon, locate the Greyhill Building and set a course." Rip ordered. "Wait, we already have a plan. Going after Savage's fortune." Kim reminded him. "Not anymore. Whatever Savage is planning to do with his followers must be stopped. This gift could very well aid in his conquest." Kim sighed. "Well in that case, we should probably get the rest of the team." Kim suggested. "Hm. Gideon?" "Sir. Mr. Cunningham, Mr. Fenton, Ms. Pines, and Ms. Wakeman are no longer on board the ship."

In the local high school was a young Stan Pines walking through the halls depressed while eating peanuts. "You feeling, ok?" asked Mabel much to the surprise of Stan. "What's it to ya?" "Just making sure you don't do anything crazy like destroying your brother's invention." Stan was shocked to hear this. "What are you talking about? I wouldn't do that." "Maybe not on purpose, but as you know you do have a few problems with anger. And that could cause you to do something that could ruin your life." Mabel pointed out. "I know what happens to you in the future Stan. And that's why I'm here to tell you, be happy for your brother. No matter how far apart you'll be that won't change the bond you share." After making her case Mabel left and reunited with the team. "So how'd it go?" Jenny asked. "Good. I think."

On the Waverider, Steven figured out a way to help Ben get his confidence back. "I know how it feels." Ben looked at Steven surprised. "To lose your confidence. I get it. You know before I learned the truth about my mom, everyone placed her at the top of this pedestal and I was under so much pressure to be like her." Steven explained. "Sounds rough." Ben said. "But I soon learned that I didn't need to be like her to be a hero. I just need to be me." "What does this have to do with me?" Ben asked. "You became a hero because you wanted to prove that you were awesome right?" Ben nodded. "But we already think you are, and that mistake doesn't make you any less of a hero. And right now we need that hero to save Star's life." Ben smiled and got up. "Let's do this."

Kim and Rip arrived at the Greyhill Building dressed in a tuxedo and a blue dress with Blake in the driver's seat to get past security. "Ah, Mr. Blake. Welcome." greeted the guard. "I take it Mrs. Blake is out of town?" "That's a very pointed observation." Blake commented. He then drove our heroes into the parking garage. They then proceeded to tie him up and throw him into the trunk. "If you're going to find the ceremony, you'll need my help." Blake said. "No, I think we're quite good without it." Rip retorted. "Kim care to do the honors?" "With pleasure." she answered as she knocked Blake out. Inside the ballroom, Kim and Rip looked around for anything unusual. "Maybe we should have had Blake show us around. I can't find anything here." Kim complained. "On the contrary Ms. Possible, I believe that face is familiar." Rip pointed out. The familiar face in question was the minion who was with Savage at the auction.

Our heroes decided to follow him and saw that he just exited a room at the end of the hall. Kim and Rip nodded at each other knowing that's where they needed to go. Kim walked down the hall looking confused. "Excuse me miss, this area is off limits." the guard said. "Oh sorry, I was looking for the bathroom could you show me the way?" Kim asked playing the role of a hopelessly lost girl. Once the guard let his guard down, Kim grabbed his hand, and punched him in the face knocking him out. "Well done." Rip complimented. They entered the room only to find a suitcase. Inside it, some ceremonial daggers. "What the hell?" Kim said confused (for real this time). "What is Savage planning to do these?" Rip asked. "Why not stay and find out?" the minion suggested as he entered with some guards and Blake. "Ah, the Gareeb. Mr. Blake has told us so much about you."

Ben was inside Star's blood as "Nanomech" once again. But this time he wasn't going to let anything stop him from saving his friend's life. "Ok, there should be 3 pieces up ahead." Dipper said. "I see them." Ben said getting ready to fire. "Remember, the initial blast will create smaller pieces." Dipper pointed out. "You'll need to…" "How does Mabel put up with your bossiness." "What are you talking about? I'm not bossy." "It's amazing how actually believe that." Ben quipped. He fired and the dagger pieces broke apart. One of the smaller fragments hit him and he fell over. "Argh." Ben said in pain. "You can do it Ben." Steven said in support. "Star doesn't need the watch, she needs you." Ben got up and continued destroying the dagger fragments. "You're doing great. Just one more to go." said Dipper. "I see it. It's the biggest one yet." Despite his fear, Ben succeeded in destroying it and saving Star's life. "You did it." Dipper and Steven said simultaneously. Ben got out and returned to his human form then received high fives from Steven and Dipper. "Dude you are awesome." Dipper exclaimed. "Was there ever any doubt?" Ben joked.

Back at the Greyhill Building, Rip and Kim were being taken to a mysterious room. "What are you doing here?" Rip asked demanding to know their plan. "Oh, you'll see." the minion said mockingly. "Mr. Blake informs us that you were hoping to steal our master's fortune, but while money has its uses, it is not the source of his power." "Then what is?" Kim asked. "Let us show you." Blake said as they reached their destination. They entered what appeared to be a secret church where Savage's followers were gathered for the ceremony. "Hym nu setta, rash mun setta." they all chanted as Savage stood in the center by a stoup and a table with a chalice on it holding the Aman Dagger. "Our numbers are legion. All drawn to the man who is immune to death. Wealth is not power... belief is." the goon explained.

Savage then turned around to face the prisoners. "Hello, Gareeb. How long has it been? 4,000 years? You look well." Savage said greeting Rip. "When you and your friends attacked my estate in St. Roch. I was afraid I wouldn't get the chance to meet you once again. Well, if there's something that I've learned in 4,000 years…it's patience. And this time I only had to wait one short day." Savage said as he walked over to the chalice. "You're probably wondering what I'm doing." he said as he began to cut himself much to Kim and Rip's horror. "Jack the Ripper showed me he virtues of severing the carotid artery." he explained as the blood flowed into the cup. "And my blood is a valuable commodity in this organization."

Due to Star getting stabbed with the dagger she could sense what was going on from the ship and started chanting. "Hym nu setta, rash mun setta." "What's going on?" Ben asked. But no one had an answer.

"Centuries ago, I discovered that although immortality is mine alone, I can share a taste…with my faithful. To help them live an extra hundred years or so." Savage explained as he handed the chalice to Blake. Who took a sip and the proceeded to pass it around.

"They're in trouble." Star whimpered. "Sounds like she's having a bad dream" Dipper assumed. "Rip…Kim…You have to save them!" Star said. "Savage! Greyhill Building!" "I'm not so sure about that." Steven said. "Gideon, search 'Greyhill Building'." Dipper ordered. "I've already searched for it on behalf of the captain, who's there now with Ms. Possible." Gideon explained. "Wait, they left without us?" Ben said in a mixture of confusion and anger. "It's a mansion several miles away. Apparently, there's some sort of private event." Gideon explained. "How could Star know that they're there?" Dipper asked. Star then shot up shouting "You have to save them!" The 3 of them looked at each other concerned.

Savage approached Rip to ask him a question he wanted to know the answer to for a long time. "When we first met, I asked you who you were. Remember? That was the wrong question. What I should have asked you was 'Why?' Why did you seek to kill me all those years ago? What could I have possibly done to deserve that hatred I see burning in your eyes? Did I take something from you? Someone perhaps?" he then noticed the pocket watch sticking out of Rip's pocket and took it. Rip's anger was rising. "Get your hands off that." Savage inspected the picture of Rip's family. "Ah, your wife, I take it. Oh, she is lovely. The boy has your eyes. I'll be sure to keep their picture close." Savage chuckled. "I don't remember killing them…yet. It seems like I have a lot to look forward to."

"Gideon, get me Mabel and the others." Dipper ordered. "I'm afraid Ms. Pines and you're remaining teammates are not on board." Gideon informed him. "What?" the 3 boys said in confusion. "They are on one of the Jumpships in New Jersy. I'm Patching you through." "Guys what are you doing?" Dipper asked upset. "Hi Dipper." Mabel said nervously. "It's a long story." "There's no time. Gideon will upload you coordinates to a place called the Greyhill Building." Steven said. "Rip and Kim are in danger." "We're on it." Jenny said as she piloted the ship."

Rip was disgusted by Savage's actions. "This is a perversion." Savage shook his head. "No, this is the power you have no hope of defeating. Everyone here is sworn to live and die at my command. Why? 'Cause to them, I am a God! I pity you." Savage scoffed. "You have no idea what it's like to have people willing to follow you up to the gates of Hell!" They then heard the noise of a break-in. Rip smirked. "Actually, I have a little bit of an idea."

Danny, Randy, Mabel, and Jenny burst through the door ready for a fight. "Let's get this party started." Randy shouted. "Here's our invitations." Danny said as he fired a beam of ice at some of Savage's goons. Randy then attacked some of the other armed guards. "Ninja Rings." Randy said as he threw some sharp discs at them disarming them. He then rushed towards them with his sword and beat them all down. Jenny used her hammer arm to knock back henchman left and right. During the fight Mabel snuck towards Kim and Rip and untied them. "You came!" Rip said surprised. "Yeah, we're a team." Mabel said. "Next time, remember that." Jenny added.

Savage was growing frustrated. "Enough!" he shouted as he fired a beam of energy from the dagger. The team took cover. "Kim, lead the others out of here." Rip ordered. "Savage is mine." Kim nodded and joined the fight. Rip pulled out his laser gun and shot the dagger out of Savage's hand. He then grabbed it and charged at his foe. Savage punched him in the face but Rip stood his ground and pinned him to the table with the dagger at his throat. "This is for Miranda and Jonas." Rip shouted as he slit Savage's throat. "Ah!" Savage screamed in pain. "At least I know their names now." Savage said as he coughed up blood. "Miranda and Jonas. I will heal…and then I will rise…and I'll simply wait. I am looking forward to meeting them." Savage the collapsed on the floor "dead".

Back on the Waverider, Rip talked with Gideon. "Gideon, I need a check of the timeline. Vandal Savage." "The timeline is unchanged, Captain." she explained. "You know better than anyone that Savage is immortal. he cannot be killed through conventional means." "Which is why I need you to work on finding out where history records seeing him next." Rip ordered as he entered the MedBay. "How is she?" "Better. Thanks to them." Star answered. "Sorry I couldn't help deal with Savage." "The fault is mine." Rip said. "I Should've brought in the rest of the team. Clearly teamwork is all the rage given your recovery."

In the bridge Mabel was not happy. "Gideon, I said show me Grunkle Stan's new timeline." "This is the new timeline. Shortly after your conversation, your uncle attempts to throw a bag of peanuts away in the trash but hits his brother's machine instead." Gideon explains. "Dang it, Stan." "Your uncle Ford assumes the worst and Stan is kicked out of the house. Despite your intervention, both of their futures remain unchanged." Jenny placed a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, you tried to help them. That's got to count for something." Mabel sighed. "Yeah. I just thought I could make a difference."

Soon the team gathered on the bridge. "Gideon ready us for take-off." Rip ordered. "Listen I owe you all an apology. I should have told you all before that this wasn't my first attempt to vanquish Vandal Savage, but the reason I failed before…" "Was because you didn't have us." Steven said. "Well, me, Steven, and Ben were busy trying to Save Star." Dipper pointed out. "But now that she's back on her feet…" "We're back to full strength" Rip added. "Just promise us that next time we encounter Savage we do it as a team." Kim requested. "Deal." "Sir, I've completed my review of the timeline. I calculate a 98% likelihood that Savage reappears in 1986." "Chart a course, Gideon." Rip ordered. "The '80s huh. Guess we better break out the parachute pants." Danny joked. "What are parachute pants?" Star asked.
