The three V's got in their car and drove to the hotel.
When they arrived, Angel and Cherri were still sleeping while Alastor was downstairs making a large welcome breakfast.
The three V's stood outside the hotel, admiring what a swanky joint it was.
"Nice place," Valentino commented.
"Yeah, this place looks much cleaner than I expected it to be," conceded Vox.
"Oh, shut up! This place is ritzy as fuck," said Velvette, snapping pictures. "This ain't Buckingham Palace, but this family knows how to build a swanky castle!"
Val scoffed lighting a cigarette, "Our tower looks better."
Vox sighed, "Alright, remember everyone. We're here to just talk and leave. We're already risking our reputation by being over here in the first place, so we're not going to cause a scene. Val!"
"What?" asked Val. "As long as they tell me what I need to know, I won't do anything."
"No! You won't do anything that could fuck up our image regardless of what they say! You understand, Val?!" cried Vox. "If they don't hand Cherri over, we just come up with another plan. Agreed?"
"Fine, I'll try to behave," agreed Valentino, looming over the door for a moment before giving it a couple of hard knocks.
Niffty ran over to the door and answered it.
As soon as she opened the door, Valentino tipped his hat upward and grinned down at Niffty.
"Hello there, little doll," Val said.
"That's Alastor's other servant," Vox whispered. "Tread lightly."
Niffty held her small smile and waved, "Hi there!"
"Do you mind if we come in? Maybe talk to your boss?" asked Valentino.
Niffty smiled, turned back, and said, "Just a moment! Charlie, Alastor, there are some overlords at the door asking for you!"
"Alastor's here right now?" Vox whispered anxiously. "Oh, shit…"
Alastor tilted his head with the sound of a microphone crack accompanying it, "Coming right over!"
"What?!" Charlie and Vaggie yelled simultaneously as they ran to the door while Husk nervously hung back.
Alastor teleported in front of them to address his enemy, "Oh…Vox…What a…pleasant surprise. What can we do for you lot?"
Vox stepped in front Val and stared Alastor down.
Alastor furrowed his brow and popped his staff into existence while he waited for a reply.
Vox finally broke the tension with a scoff and asked, "Val, Velvette, and I are looking for Angel and my stepdaughter. Have you seen them?"
"Afraid not," Alastor retorted. "I don't watch your perverted little movies."
"Look, I know Angel lives here," Valentino said, pushing Vox aside. "And my daughter is with him. So, cut the shit and tell me where they are."
"Isn't Angel supposed to be with you?" Alastor asked, casually looking at his claws.
"He was," Valentino said, reaching into his pocket. "But someone sprung him loose and took my daughter with him."
"Must say, I'm surprised you have and care for a daughter. You certainly don't seem like the…family- oriented type," Alastor chuckled.
"Can't a sinner have one virtue in his life of sin?" Valentino asked, pulling the feather out of his pocket. "My dear darling daughter was taken by a demon with this feather. Do you recognize it?"
Alastor glanced back at Husk with a quick glare for his sloppiness.
Husk looked away, trying to hide his fear.
He then looked back at the Overlords and said, "I do believe I'm able to recognize what a feather is."
"It's your flying cat demon's feather," Vox snarled. "That former overlord whose casinos you saved! Don't deny it. You and your thralls kidnapped Cherri and Angel for your own demented purposes. Didn't you?!"
"Husker has his own life. Who's to say what he does in his free time?" Alastor shrugged.
"You mean, you don't keep an eye on your thralls at all times?" Vox asked incredulously.
"Yes, I suppose I'm not an insecure television," Alastor retorted.
"You mind running that by me again?" Vox asked with sparks of electricity flying around to show his anger.
"Gladly," Alastor spoke in static as his eyes turned into dials and blood drooled from his mouth.
Charlie got in between the overlords and said, "Guys, guys, please don't fight in my hotel…Wait, you?!"
Charlie saw Valentino and her eyes immediately flashed red, "What the hell are you doing here?!"
"Hola, princessa!" Valentino mocked. "Have you seen my daughter or Angel by any chance?"
"No," Charlie lied. "But I want everyone to stop fighting."
"Very well, my dear," Alastor said, reverting to his normal form.
"Dammit," Velvette complained. "I wanted to record the fight for VoxTube. It would've gotten so many views!"
"If our business is concluded, I would advise you to leave," ordered Alastor.
Val scoffed and said, "And what about Angel and Cherri?"
"Best of luck with your search!" cried Alastor.
"I suppose we'll look elsewhere then," said Valentino. "See you later."
Alastor then unceremoniously shut the door on them, "So hard to find good company these days."
"Why that son of a bitch!" Val shrieked.
"Come on!" Vox said, grabbing his boyfriend's arm and dragging him back to the limo. "We have to go before things get worse!"
"All that fight footage we missed out on," complained Velvette following behind them.
The VVV's reluctantly retreated to their limo and drove away.
As soon as they were sure the overlords had left, Charlie and Vaggie breathed a sigh of relief.
"Gone at last," Charlie said.
"That won't be the last of them," Vaggie reminded her.
"Yes, dear, that is clear," Alastor said. "I will do what I can to detour them."
"Thank you, Alastor!" Charlie said. "What will you do first? Do you need us to help?"
"I would advise you call friends, if you have any for favors," Alastor said, waving his hand. "But it would probably be best to let the two upstairs know what came."
"Let us know what came?"
Alastor turned around to the surprise voice.
Cherri was standing at the top of the stairs, rubbing her eyes with Angel close behind her.
"Oh, awake already?" asked Alastor.
"Yep," Angel said. "Now tell us. What came?"
"Your boss of course! And his cohorts as well," Alastor answered. "Only to talk. Thankfully, it seems they have manners after all, but they were looking for you two."
Angel and Cherri's eyes flew open in terror.
"I will try to protect you and this hotel as patrons, but what you do yourselves is your choice," said Alastor.
"Oh, shit," Angel said. "What do we do?"
"I would advise looking for a new place to call 'sanctuary'," Alastor said. "I'm unsure if they'll be detoured from bringing any harm this way! And as much as I don't like to admit it, staging a defensive against their offensive even with me would be a difficult venture."
"We have nowhere else to go, Smiles," Angel retorted.
"Yeah," Cherri said, shaking from her stupor. "I'm not leaving. The moment I step out there, they'll take me and hurt Angel. We have to stay here."
"Yeah, Al," Charlie said, backing Cherri up. "We're not kicking them out."
"Not my intentions, dear," Alastor said. "But it is a suggestion if we feel we're not as safe here."
Cherri nervously gripped her arms. Angel wrapped his arm around Cherri.
Back in the limo, Valentino seemed calm despite the circumstances.
"Well, that was a fucking bust!" Velvette lamented. "We risk our reputations coming over here, almost start another turf war, and don't even get your daughter out of it. What're we going to tell the public, Val? They're going to start asking questions if she isn't found."
"Don't worry your pretty little head, baby doll," Valentino reassured. "We're going to get my baby back."
"How exactly are we going to do that, Val?" asked Velvette.
"The key to that is Vox," Valentino said, gesturing to his boyfriend.
"What the hell do you expect me to do, Val?" asked Vox annoyedly. "Velvette's right. We already risked our reputation enough coming over here in the first place just to chase after one girl. If I come back, I risk getting into a full-on turf war with Alastor. How would I even manage to grab your kid without the Radio Demon noticing?"
"You won't need to fight him," Valentino explained. "You'd just get in and get out. Not everyone in that building is some old-fashioned jackass like the Radio Demon, honey. There's gotta be a few people with TVs you could look through, not to mention the hundreds of outlets there must be."
Vox flashed a wicked smirk of his own, "I think I see what you're thinking. All I'd need to do is find which room is Cherri's…"
"And you'd be in and out before anyone even notices you're there," Valentino finished his sentence. "That way, we get my baby back and we avoid any unwanted publicity. What do you say?"
"I'd say that it's about time you prove that you had a brain in that thick skull of yours," Velvette said. "Let's do it. I'll help."
"I think I can handle her on my own," Vox insisted.
"Let baby doll come just in case," Val insisted. "Please? I don't want any mistakes and my baby girl is a handful."
"Have you forgotten who you're talking to?" asked Vox with a chuckle. "But fine, I'll accept the help. Now, we just need to find where she sleeps."
"We can check in later in the afternoon," Valentino said, lighting another cigarette. "For now, I could use a shower and a nap."
