Survivor - Heroes vs Villains

Chapter 2 - Day 1

Alright. So after an already near 10k long chapter, we move onto the very first day of this adventure for these twenty All Stars.

So like I said, the premiere is going to be ninety minutes. Every single one of these castaways is going to get at least one confessional, so your fave is gonna shine somewhere if he or she hasn't already. Really feels good to be writing these players again.

Throughout this whole thing, we are going to see if they are going to change anything strategically, and we're going to see how far their character is going to be developed. Also, certain characters are going to get two season story arcs with each other, so that's something interesting to watch.

Now obviously we are going to go through day one. I won't actually be surprised if this is going to be a long chapter as well. So for now, let us just celebrate that these twenty people are playing Survivor again. Yet at the end of the day, one of these people is going to win the million dollars. And they are going to represent not only their season, but their franchise. So far we had a Sonic win, a Fire Emblem win, an Animal Crossing win, and even a Punch Out representative of all things.

So let's see what the initial thoughts of these players are... One more important thing to note guys, I should have said this a long time ago, but... consider this fic something to celebrate my tenth anniversary of being on this site. Yes, it is long overdue since I've been here since 2011, but I never really had the chance to celebrate my longevity on Fanfiction. Guess this is the fic for everything I suppose. An All Star Survivor season with my favorite video game franchise of all time. Yep... I've really come a long way, haven't I?

Heroes Tribe

Day 1

Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Zelda, Meta Knight, Sonic, Vector, Isabelle, Shovel Knight, Golden

-/-

And... the game officially began!

Okay. So the ten favorite heroes all made it to their camp, the tribe flag being seen before the team wandered up to it.

"Here we are." Zelda spoke, grinning at the season's logo. "Survivor - Heroes vs Villains: 'Return, Revenge, Redemption.'"

"I suppose that replaces 'Outwit, Outplay, Outlast' for this." Golden snickered at that. "We're all back here and we're all back here for blood."

Yoshi actually wanted to gulp at the thought of what was going to happen this season. "This is gonna get crazy..."

"It really is something. Seventy eight contestants have competed on this show, and I happen to be one of the twenty that have been brought back to play this game for a second time." Mario really felt that it was an honor to be a part of the show once more, even though he never asked to be in. "Part of me feels like there are some people that were probably even more deserving than me, but... I am here... And now that I am, the one thing I must do is to win this game."

Flashback time where Mario was seen getting like a bajillion votes from people before his torch was put out. "The last time I played Survivor, my name was written down at almost every tribal I attended. Thirty votes cast to a single player in one season is something that I still hold the record of to this day. In spite of that, I still made it all the way to the penultimate episode before the finale. Was deeply surprised I made it that long, but I did not make it to the end. And so the only next step for me is to... somehow get to the end and win All Stars. If I can actually pull that off,... it'll really be something. It'll really be something. I need to be ready for anything this game might throw at me."

"You think the Villains are gonna let the theme get to their heads a little bit?" Isabelle asked the group while placing down her stuff. "They could very well be even more cut throat than their original seasons."

"They are probably gonna do everything they can to make fun of us." Donkey Kong thought out loud. "We'll just shrug it all off and stay humble. Our main focus for these first few days is making sure we're well prepared for the first immunity challenge. They already have a head start."

"I think it'll serve us best to get fire on the first day, to be honest." Zelda suggested. "That way we can already be making up for our loss, since thankfully the challenge was just for a reward."

"I'm not against that." Shovel Knight nodded in understanding. "Once we get fire going, we'll be pretty even with the Villains. First things first though, I am thinking about getting to know this beach a little. We have to locate the water well and tree mail, anyway. Might as well use this opportunity to explore the place a little..."

He then turned to Vector. "Does this beach seem familiar to you in any way?"

Meta Knight snickered.

"Yeah..." It was apparently. A large grin of amusement ended up appearing on Vector's face. "This is Samana beach... This is where my adventure really started. Me and Meta can have the early advantage of where should we have our camp."

"Hmm..." Yoshi was on the Barahona beach in his season as his starting tribe, so it took him a bit more to recognize his surroundings. "You know, you're right. This is Samana. Hahaha!"

And if one read Caribbea, it was apparent that Yoshi swapped to Samana beach.

"Oh, good!" Shovel grinned under his helmet. "You three can be our tour guides then, while we head out to retrieve water."

"Good idea." Vector replied. "We get water, build shelter, and just... celebrate the fact that we're on this show again."

"Alright, I suppose we'll let the three of you be in charge." Donkey Kong decided. "Where should we have our shelter?"

"Well I remember the last time our team built the shelter, we were rather quite a bit away from the water." Meta Knight remembered. "I know that when I swapped to Barahona, they were really away from the water. I believe that it is always best to have it a bit closer to the water to avoid bugs, while at the same time, making sure we do not have it too close to the water depending on what these waves will be capable of."

"There are twenty of us here, five of us from each season. But unlike most people, I am actually playing two seasons back to back." The Mobian pointed out. "Mentally, I'm probably gonna be a bit more in game mode because like, I just played. This is the same damn beach for crying out loud. But you know, I guess it is a bit overwhelming, so I would need to be a little chill and relaxed a little bit. I've gotten multiple headaches from the strategizing and everything from Caribbean, and now I'm right back here? But hey, I want that money. Though I guess for right now, I'm gonna try to not think too much. It's only the first day. I'm gonna get myself together, keep cool, calm, and collected. Once I start bonding with these people, maybe then I could start sharing some strategies with these folks to see what I need to do to avoid being first eliminated. 'Cause I didn't come all the way back out here to get voted off first. That's embarrassing."

He was seen heaving a brief, quiet sigh, Shovel Knight, Sonic, and Yoshi all following him to the direction of the water well as he laid his eyes on the map. Now for someone like him, he was more leaning into the 'brawn over brains' stereotype. He literally admitted to it in his season. Yet due to the familiar surroundings, it was the only reason why he was reading a map to begin with. Otherwise, without a doubt Vector would have been a lost puppy.

"To think it was actually day two in my season when we were all divided into tribes..."

"And that was when the Reptile Runaways had their very first setback. Haha!" Yoshi remembered K. Rool making the now infamous Reptile Runaways, which both he and Vector were involved in. Yet unfortunately, things already went wrong the moment the teams were divided. Vector and Charizard were both immediately put on opposite teams, Banjo got voted out, and then after a long while Yoshi himself decided to flip.

"At least we were the ones that took advantage of the opening twist... Shovel Knight, I'm sorry that my alliance was the reason why your partner got voted out early."

"Haha, no need to apologize." He grinned under his helmet. "Your alliance was divided and you weren't even on the same beach when it happened. Even if you were, it is all fair and square. I was rather shocked that I made it all the way to final five in my season."

Such a good sport.

"And I am shocked to this day that I made it to the final one!" joked Sonic laughing out loud.

"Aye, representing Mobius!" Vector held a fist in the air. "The universe needs it. Good job, bud. Knuckles made it pretty far, too."

"But he was too much of a knucklehead to keep his social game in check. ...Hahaha!"

"Ahahaha!"

"I still can't believe I'm on a tribe with Sonic the Hedgehog." said the crocodile. "After Kodai Island, we met and talked in person with Espio and Charmy. He's an overall good guy and I got to know him a bit personally. Espio then got on Mexico, I got on Caribbean, now me and Sonic are on this season together on the same tribe. So we're basically friends and now it's gonna get stronger cause of this... We definitely had to make a plan talking to each other alone eventually to see what the other's thoughts are on everything."

"We're gonna talk out here by ourselves." Vector briefly mumbled to the hedgehog, keeping one eye on Shovel and Yoshi who were ahead of him. "Just gotta wait to the right time... Hey, you guys don't think that they're already scared that we're finding idols, do you?"

"I hope not." Yoshi was honestly worried about that. "I don't think we've been out here too long."

Shovel Knight actually found an idol before, but he felt it did not make sense to him. "I actually doubt that. Why would we find an idol as a foursome?"

Oh, it was just something Vector wanted to come up with on the spot in order to throw off suspicions of the side conversation happening between himself and his Mobianmate.

Speaking of the world's fastest hedgehog... "We're good. You just give me a signal or something."

"There have been four winners of this thing so far, two of them are on the same team, and I'm one of them." He used his fingers for emphasis. "If I don't have some type of target on my back, I'm gonna be pretty surprised. My absolute biggest fear coming into this is everyone coming to an agreement saying something like, 'Oh, Sonic? Love him, but he's already won. Let's just vote him off first.' I'm really hoping it does not come to that. ...My overall plan for right now is to check in on some friendships that I've already made. Me and Vector both come from the same home planet, and we were already talking to each other before this All Star season was even thought of."

"And of course, me, Donkey Kong, and Mario, that's literally the entire Good Guys Alliance, hahaha! I didn't really take it too seriously, but the three of us were strong allies and we are great friends. So off the bat, those are three people that I can hopefully bring along with me. I hate to come all the way out here just to go from first winner, to first boot of the first All Star season. Just doesn't really sit right with me..."

Okay, so obviously it was sounding like everybody was terrified of being the first boot. Though of the twenty players in the game, somebody had to be the sacrificial lamb in order for the other nineteen competitors to move on.

In the next scene, the building of the shelter was shown to be the main priority of the group. Yes, the survival aspect of the game was always going to be important, no matter how strategically complex the game was going to go. There was no excuse to be lazy, Sans...

Donkey Kong was seen hacking away at the bamboo with an axe and Shovel Knight using a machete to tear down some palm fronds. Yep, it was building time alright.

"It is completely thrilling for me being here for a second time. I competed in season two, Shield competed in season four, and now here I am again. There are quite a few people that are rather deserving to compete here. Zelda had to deal with a lot of obstacles and she still made it to the end, Isabelle and Sonic have both won this game, Mario and Vector also had to deal with a lot,... I at one point started to chat with the others on who we were all surprised to not make a return for this season."

"You know," The shovel wielder said. "I was rather shocked when I found out Lucario was not going to be on."

There were in fact a couple of people that agreed with him.

"I was shocked as well." nodded Zelda, weaving a couple of palm fronds. They were usually a part of the roof of the shelter. Worst case scenario, rain leaked through, people were going to get wet, and then the castaways were too sick to win team challenges. "I know he didn't receive the biggest edit, but I really did think he deserved to be on. He was playing a great game."

"I was already surprised of how little air time he was receiving." Comparing to other seasons, Donkey Kong was sort of confused of his own season's editing. "When I was on the jury, I was being told constantly of how Lucario was lowkey a dangerous player ever since he blindsided Bowser. He then drew rocks for Mewtwo, and he took Wolf out at the next vote. The whole Lucario-Mewtwo duo was a great force to be reckoned with."

"And he wanted to take Mewtwo and Pit to the end, because he knew that no one was going to vote for them." Mario recalled. "He was set to win Survivor without having the need to turn his back on anyone. And not backstabbing anyone is pretty difficult to do... Even Sonic had to cut my throat in the end."

Speaking of the speedy blue blur, he was without a doubt at least a little guilty about the whole thing. If anyone paid attention to the pre-season of Heroes vs Villains, the fans already knew the truth. "I'm... obviously the reason why he's not here. I've been told to my face that if I wasn't here, Lucario would have took my place."

"Daisy would have took my place, haha!" said Isabelle, who was also weaving palm fronds. "But I also feel like Panther should have been on."

"Same." Golden replied. "Panther had one of the most interesting edits on this show so far, and he and Daisy both had quite a journey together. I think if production didn't really care about who played first, maybe he would have gotten in over Wolf. Probably would have even replaced me or something. I dunno..."

"You think they would have swapped Wolf with Mewtwo if that was the case?" asked Sonic. In his world, as well as most others, Mewtwo not being in was also a major question mark.

"He did end up being a major villain down the road. I think that would have been likely."

"Uh... Ken?" said Yoshi.

"Yes."

"Definitely."

"Absolutely should've been on this season." Vector pointed at him. "Had a great run in our season. Not having him here is a crime within itself."

"At the same time, though," Donkey Kong spoke again. "not having Ryu on, people would still be giving the show the side-eye. He was one of the most important players in Mexico of how he and Golden completely contrasted each other even though they were aligned at some point."

"You can't help but feel guilty about ruining somebody else's chances of coming back to play this game again." Isabelle sat on a log. "I mean, if I wasn't here, Daisy would have been on. And the fact that Daisy did not even win only makes feel even worse, because I am one of only two winners out here... But at the end of the day, I'm sure Daisy wants me to perform well out here... And it is kind of a bit much to ask for, since I do have a target on my back. I am gonna get talked about, but I just don't know when..."

Spoiler alert: her and Sonic were going to be talked about by someone rather soon. But for the time being, Donkey Kong and Golden were attempting to get a fire started while they had a decent amount of their shelter built.

Shovel Knight was seen holding a coconut husk beneath the large sticks. Yep. Nothing like making fire the old-fashioned way. The Heroes knew they needed fire as soon as possible, unless they wanted to struggle early with the survival aspect of the game. And if they were unable to make fire, knowing that it was not their first time playing, it would have been quite embarrassing.

"Ready... Go!"

The ape and the bear were both rubbing the top stick back and forth, Sonic holding the bottom one on one of its ends.

It did not take too long for smoke to be visible, the castaways around the whole thing being rather quite anxious. Fire without flint was difficult and definitely more time consuming.

"I think it's coming..." Shovel spoke with optimism.

"Ugh!" Golden grunted. It was going to be a matter of time before they both tired out. And if it came down to it, with no fire, that was a bad sign for the tribe. They needed to get even with the villains.

...

"Come on..." Sonic mumbled, the two alpha males stopping to take a breather, Shovel Knight blowing on the smallest of flame in hopes of getting something.

...

"...Okay, put them down." DK suggested some smaller sticks to be placed down on the now growing fire. It was working.

"See?" Vector grinned. "We know what we're doing. We have our own way of making fire. All Stars, baby!"

Golden sighed and smirked at his accomplishment. "Looks like we'll be able to eat today. ...Good job, man."

"We did good." DK shared a fist bump with him.

"So we did manage to get fire without flint." The neck-tied hero smiled at his tribe's progress. "We've already made up for losing that first challenge, and now we're at an even playing field with the villains. Our shelter is almost done, so things are going rather well over here. But you know, the game has probably started with some of these people already. People are thinking about alliances and friendships. ...Off the bat for me, I think with me possibly being a physically strong competitor in the team, most likely that means I'm hopefully not the first boot. And I think socially, I do have a couple things going. One thing I can say is that Golden is here. Funky told me all about him when they played together in Mexico, and I've seen the edit myself. Apparently I have a fan over here."

He started to chuckle. "Golden stated that he respected the way I played in my season, and he and Funky started on the same tribe together, and now the two of us are on the same tribe. Me and Golden quickly became friends outside Survivor after Mexico finished, so naturally the two of us are gonna talk at some point about what to do each other, since you need numbers. So at the moment, we're each other's option number one."

"Well,..." The ape was now speaking to him in the forest privately. "welcome to the Caribbean!"

"Likewise." Fredbear responded. "Looks like I'll be in the water way more than in my past season due to the location. But this place does look quite nice... How you do feel about this tribe altogether?"

"I think we're a pretty good team." Donkey Kong found no issues with anything. "We could all be a good unit... My old tribe in Kodai Island didn't take too long to be divided due to the whole Mario-Bowser thing, but I think if we all stay on the same page we could win challenges."

"One thing I've noticed is that any 'blue' starting team, such as Tatakai, Coati, and Barahona, they've all won the first immunity challenge. Don't know if it'll actually mean something or not this season, since blue is our color." Golden pointed out. "But I think we'll do just fine... Do you feel that people expect us to at least consider each other as allies?"

"They very well could... However, I believe with the two winners being here, as well as weak links, I don't think it'll be as big of a potential problem. The tribe knows we're strong physical players, so we can't go after each other for this first vote..."

"Hahaha!" He laughed at that. "Fine. We won't kill each other... But honestly, if you need an ally, I'll be your guy."

"Honestly speaking, strategically, and simply the fact that you're my friend, tells me that we probably should align together." Cool. The first ever confirmed alliance: Donkey Kong and Golden. "Funky and Diddy would both want this, anyway... And Diddy really likes you, so if I get voted out, he'll probably put money on you to win."

"Love that kid." Yes, Golden went to DK's world to visit Diddy. Crocodile Isle was rather interesting for him. "Alright, then. We have an alliance. ...How are you with Mario and Sonic at the moment?"

Fun fact: this was actually a pre-game alliance! Any pre-game alliances in an All Star season were going to be explained from the moment they were shown to occur in this series, just to keep the fans in the know.

"Friendly wise, I'm good with them." Donkey Kong talked in a rather low voice. "I haven't talked with either of them privately yet, and I don't know how many opportunities I'll actually be able to do that... And I suppose the same can be said about you and Isabelle."

"Yeah..." He was right. "You are literally the only person I talked to one-on-one at this moment... Though if we want to have numbers quickly, maybe it should be us two, Isabelle, Sonic, Mario. ...And then we'll just get one more person to join us..."

"I'll definitely take into consideration. Hopefully we have another one-on-one like this soon."

"I've told Funky Kong in my season early on of how I respect DK as a player, and then the next thing I knew we became friends. So we decided to make an early alliance before this game even started in order to be one step further. But in order to have more numbers, right now we're considering on working with Isabelle, Sonic, and Mario. We've aligned together before and two of them have won this game. But we're more likely to work together off the surface since we know each other. If it's us five, all we need is one more person... However,... the two things that concern me are the fact that Sonic and Isabelle are winners, and people already getting suspicious. If that's the case, that's gonna make the both of us targets..."

Well, what did Meta Knight have to say?

"...Do you see yourself working with the winners?"

He and Golden were now having their own talk at the shelter with almost the rest of the tribe by the ocean.

"I can't say at the moment." Come on, Golden. This was Survivor where players needed to tell the truth! Was that supposed to be what players did? "You...?"

"I mean,... I like them and all. I really do. It's a great achievement making it all thirty-nine days and winning, which is something the rest of us failed to do... But," Sigh... "I do not know if I am actually interested in playing with them, just for that reason..."

"That is understandable..." Golden understood him from that point of view. "That's something all of us are probably wondering about."

"They are great people, and both interesting winners, but if the show was not considering on ending after this season, two more non winners would have been on this cast. Though Isabelle and Sonic are both here. And some of us might be feeling we should move up two notches just so that we all have a better shot at winning, especially if they never even made it to the end."

"There's likely at least one person here that is absolutely against playing with the winners."

"And that is exactly what I am concerned about." Meta Knight felt that proved his point. "If people are feeling this way about them, it is better to vote with the majority at this first tribal."

"Well in your own opinion, what do you really feel about it?" That was what Fredbear wanted to know specifically. "I guess it depends on hearing the thoughts of others first?"

"Yes, depending on how vocal they could be about it..."

"Ironically, if me and Donkey Kong do need a sixth person, I think that it is Meta Knight of all people. He could be the one person we need and he is hesitant of playing with the winners based on the overall tribe's perception. Vector and Yoshi are friends in spite of what occurred along the way in their season, Zelda and Shovel Knight aligned together at some point and didn't betray each other, but I feel Meta is the least connected of those four. He and Vector might have started on the same tribe, but they both backstabbed each other. So at first glance, he's the least connected here, making him a possible sixth number for us."

"I'll be asking around for other's opinions." The Halberd captain suggested. "Once I get information, we could probably talk it out from there."

"Good idea." Golden agreed. "...Is there anyone you are rather close with, by the way?"

"Well,..." He lifted both of his hands up. "can't say I really know these people. I'd say Vector and Yoshi for obvious reasons, but me and him didn't really have much of a relationship and I strategically had issues with Vector in our season..."

"The winners on here are going to be an obvious problem for people." The small warrior stated. "Golden asked me for my personal thoughts on it... And I feel like if anyone wanted to align with someone like Isabelle, he's the most likely. Donkey Kong is more likely to align with Sonic and probably Mario. They never turned on each other. Perhaps they could plan a five strong alliance. If that ends up being a reality, it is not going to be an easy time for me out here. And in the early days in the game, I didn't even have the easiest time in my season..."

"...So...?"

The two winners in question were now by the water well filling up their canteens.

"Is it official?" The hedgehog asked the mayor's assistant.

"...I don't see why we can't make it official." Isabelle hunched her shoulders sighing. "I'm already getting weird vibes about some of these people. Someone on this tribe generally feels like they shouldn't play with us."

"Okay. Winners alliance it is."

Oh by the way, that was another pre-game alliance! ...Though for this one in particular, it was pretty much a no brainer.

"The only way we will last in this game is if we stick together." Isabelle Cosgrove figured. "And the only way a winner can win is if we're both at the end with... a person that would have no chance to win the game or something..."

"Right..." Sonic ran his hand across his forehead to wipe off sweat. "We literally have no other choice, haha! And I know in this game, not backstabbing somebody is extremely difficult to do. Like, I had to put Mario's name down. But since there is literally no reason for me to vote you out, I can tell you right now that I will never put your name down. Hahahahaha!"

She laughed right along with him. "Likewise. Last season for me was to keep the Brains together, this season is gonna be me helping to keep the winners together."

"Me and Sonic are probably gonna have the most obvious alliance of this whole season. We don't even have to worry about keeping it under wraps, so that is why we made an alliance before this game officially started." Another flashback was shown of Isabelle's winning vote being revealed at the end of her season. "I have a large target on my back and I am a weak player... It's gonna be a tall order for me to even make the merge, or even a swap... I gotta have somebody on my side, and Sonic is probably saying the same thing. If either one of us goes first, the other is gonna be literally booted right after."

Villains

Day 1

Bowser, Sheik, Wolf, Ridley, Shadow, Ryu, Specter Knight, Plague Knight, Foxy, Springtrap

-/-

It was time to enter the dark side... Bwahahahahahaha! So evil, right?

The villains of the season finally met their tribe flag, already feeling great about winning the first challenge of the season.

"Return, Revenge, Redemption, huh?" Ryu grinned at the season's slogan. "I guess due to the fact that none of us our winners, that should motivate us even further to take this home."

"Our number one priority should be to kick all ten of their asses as much as possible." suggested Springtrap. "Better to kick all of 'em while they're down, right?"

That was mean... Yep. This was definitely the Villains tribe.

"The heroes tribe, I think they should generally feel good about being viewed as the most heroic characters of the show." Sheik's back leaned against the tree. "Yet since we're all villains here, for our sake it is best to simply own our title. We're villains and we know it. Might have questioned why I was considered a villain earlier, but I'm here. I also think that they needed a villainess here, since I am the only woman on the tribe. But I can't say that I'm not used to it. Sometimes I work better when I'm around men a lot of the time, and guys can relate to me rather well back in Hyrule. Perhaps that could be an advantage gaining allies."

"Ridley tore the challenge up, by the way."

The dragon grinned at Springtrap's comment. "Had to be done."

"That was the perfect first challenge for this season." Foxy said out loud. "It was a challenge that I've already done, and this time my team actually won. I feel like I'm already getting my redemption here."

"Likewise." Sheik agreed, her now fox friend sharing a fist bump with him. "One thing to check off."

"The heroes are probably gonna get flint the old-fashioned way. The main thing we should be preparing for is us making sure we win the first immunity challenge."

"Absolutely agree." Bowser nodded his head rapidly. "In case anyone hasn't noticed,... my team has never won an immunity challenge before. ...Hahahaha!"

"Then you'd better not be a curse to this tribe..." Specter Knight commented. Now the way it came off, anyone assumed that it was likely a joke, not meant to be taken too seriously. Yet since it was Specter, he was usually pretty serious. Perhaps he generally felt worried that Bowser was going to be an automatic curse to any team he was on.

"Annnd we seem to be off to a good start here." Val's partner smirked in confidence. "We won the first challenge, and we didn't even need to send all of our guys out there to do it thanks to Ridley taking it home for us. I don't know about some people, but I actually really care a lot about winning challenges, especially this time around. I feel like I'm coming in here with some kind of target on my back, and if I'm on the block early, then that's a problem. Winning for right now is the best case scenario for me. I want our team to win all the challenges we can. But I think we're pretty stacked, especially since we have people like Bowser and Ridley on here."

"Ridley, Springtrap," Wolf called. "this beach seem familiar?"

Both of them took a second to pay close attention to their surroundings in attempt to recognize the location.

"...Nnnnope." Springtrap shook in denial. "This ain't Barahona."

"And this isn't Samana." Ridley replied. "I don't even think this is the merge beach."

"Alright, guess this is completely new, then." The mercenary concluded. "We're on a brand new beach with a ton of trees over here... Maybe this could be our little lair or somethin'."

#TheLair

Ryu snickered at the playful idea. "That is something we could actually go along with. We could all be scheming and plotting how to take the Heroes down and take over the world."

"Taking over the world?" Bowser grinned. "I think I could be pretty good at that!"

Oh, 'taking over the world'? Of course! ...Some people from the audience likely got the reference. ...And then on the other hand, it could have been seen as sarcasm. Bowser was never,... ever,... ever successful at taking over the Mushroom Kingdom in any of the Super Mario games. Canon wise, it was unknown to everyone that paid attention to Super Mario how long was it going to take for King Koopa to simply come up with something else. More successful villains actually performed a better job.

"You guys ready to get to work on our lair, then?" Wolf cocked his head to the side.

"The sooner we start, the sooner we finish." Ridley reached his hand in the tool kit, more than ready to make a shelter. "We already have the flint, so we can work on fire by sundown."

With one chop of bamboo by Ryu, the villains were shown in different shots aggressively working on their new home. Bowser was chopping down a tree with an axe, Specter Knight was hacking away with the machete to separate a bunch of palm fronds, and Wolf was sawing some wood.

"When I played Survivor the first time, I honestly never expected myself to come back, let alone be a villain." Springtrap chuckled quite a bit to the point to where his back began to lean backwards a little Any more and he would have fallen over. "Though I supposed I'm one of the quieter ones, especially against people like Ridley, Bowser, Shadow, Foxy, and Specter Knight. Without me trying to sound cocky, I doubt I have a big target on my back due to the bigger competition on the board. Obviously this gives me advantage and hopefully this means that I'm gonna last for a little bit... I wanna last for a while, actually. All thirty-nine days this time. I wanna win. I won't settle for anything less."

"What do you guys think about us not having a winner on here?" He suddenly asked his tribe members around him.

"Well, I could have won my season, but due to my own foolishness, it didn't really happen..." Oh boy... This was something not really touched on at the time. Looking back at it, his fans were wondering how was Plague Knight dealing with the fact that he could have somehow won Mexico... Would have been a rather unlikeable final three, but a final three he really could have won. Most likely in his mind, he was pretty much still dealing with the 'what-ifs'. The fact that there were no winners on his tribe only added onto it.

"You still made it to the end." Sheik looked up from her weaving. "I was one challenge away from winning my season..."

Valid point. It was a shock in itself by the fact that Plague managed to make it all the way to Final Tribal Council. Sheik on the other hand was actually playing a great game, being in every vote except for one in Emperors vs Knights, the infamous final nine Tribal Council, and lasting all the way to the final four in a challenge where literally anyone had a possibility to win.

Yet it all came to whether or not fans placed more emphasis on people losing by just one challenge, or making it to the end, but with a wasted opportunity to be in a better position in the finals.

Also, Plague had a whole attitude problem.

"I mean, they chose Isabelle to be on this season over Doc Louis because they needed another female hero." Ryu brought up, hammering some of the bamboo into place. "If either of you would have won your season, both of you would still be here."

"What do you think the chances of the winners surviving these first few rounds?" Springtrap then asked.

"I'd say not very likely." Shadow shook his head, tying the bamboo together in order to make the shelter rather sturdy... unless they all wanted the whole thing to fall on their faces. "They'd be rather foolish to let those two survive for a while. They should consider getting rid of Isabelle first and then Sonic..."

"Because Isabelle's gonna be weaker in the challenges?"

"Exactly." He nodded in reply. "And I think Sonic could very well become more dangerous the longer he's around. ...You know what,... if I was on the jury I don't know if I would have actually voted for him. If it weren't for the whole 'getting rid of Wolf without voting for him thing', he's basically nothing."

Was Shadow asking for hate from Sonic fans? Yes, he had no filter to him and they came from the same canon series, but still. ...Did they consider that to be an unpopular opinion, or...?

"Well damn..." Springtrap mumbled scratching his head. "I mean, you're not the first to say that, but..."

"Wolf, what do you think?" Ryu asked the lupine. "You were on that jury and you're the one he got out."

It was only fair. The two of them and Bowser shared the first season together.

"I mean, I like the kid." He spoke with honesty. "He's gonna do a lot of great things and he'll forever be known for being the first winner. That was one hell of a social play he did with Lucario, but... I voted for Link for a reason. I felt a little guilty about ruining his game and we did promise a final four deal with Ike and Bowser... But I believe in the end Bayonetta of all people was the crucial swing vote, and Sonic admitting what he did won her over. Link pissed off Mewtwo and Lucario basically was aware of Sonic throwing me under the bus because he was the one he talked to."

"Alright, I understand that I was not playing that season, but I personally would have voted for Link to win." Kevin Davis admitted. Perhaps since Shadow admitted how he felt about it all, it encouraged him to speak his honest thoughts.

Weirdly enough, Bowser Koopa never contributed much to the conversation at all. He was looking for the most part, but not saying much. And Bowser was a pretty talkative guy,... especially when the dude complained.

"The whole thing between me and Bowser, it ended up with me making one of the dumbest moves in Survivor history." Flashback! Everyone remembered 'the most brutal betrayal in Survivor history', right? And Koopa did not even know that Wolf had an idol that could have saved him at the final nine, but he chose not to even though he actually did not want Bowser to leave. But his logic at the time was that he already played his idol on the guy once, and he felt he needed to keep his second one to himself. "Link called me out on it and I realized the opportunity that I squashed, and I cost Bowser from possibly making it to the final stages of the game. And now we're on the same tribe together... Yeah..."

They both knew how much of a blessing it was from the Survivor Gods for the two of them having a chance to have a one on one talk together in the forest on day one.

"We'd better make this conversation short, but worth it..." O'Donnell spoke to Koopa. "We're not gonna have another chance to talk like this for a while."

"Yeah, yeah..." Bowser heaved a sigh, pausing before looking at the other anthro character in his eyes. "So how do you feel?"

"About everything at the moment?" He assumed. "I feel fine... Hoping to slide under the radar at least a little bit. Trying to last as long as I can... And of course fate has the both of us on the same tribe..."

"Double-edged sword!" Junior's father grinned with a little laugh. "One more buddy I have on here, but people know our history."

"Past relationships coming into this game, I think it's gonna play a major factor when it comes to a lot of these votes." Wolf continued. "There is an obvious best, yet worst case scenario if me and Bowser aligned together. We would have made a pre-game alliance before this show went on the road, but we just couldn't due to us not wanting to sabotage each other because of our relationship. Yet since we both know this game, strategically, we gotta stay apart for now. These first few days are kinda crucial."

"All they gotta do is say 'Wolf and Bowser are here together, and we gotta separate 'em'." Not a bad idea to the other players. "But if we do lose, I really don't think me of all people should even be an option for a first boot, unless they want to lose all the challenges..."

"You've no reason to go first." Bowser shook his head aggressively. "They'd be stupid to do that, and clearly they're gonna completely embarrass themselves if they get rid of me."

"Maybe you're a curse if we lose the first immunity." He jokingly folded his arms.

"Not funny." No, it was funny. It was just the fact that Bowser himself found it to be a problem because he was Bowser Koopa himself. "But anyway,... should we just... see how things turn out for the time being?"

"I guess so." Wolf hunched his shoulders. "No 'yes' or 'no' answer to working with or against each other. We'll leave it at a maybe and we'll talk again when we have to. For now we'll just pull off a Panther and Daisy and purposefully separate ourselves from each other to avoid making it obvious."

"Wolf's a great guy, and we became friends since we competed in Kodai Island. He cost me a million bucks, but I've already come to terms with that before we were even sent home." He was in fact handling it pretty well in his Ponderosa episode. "It's awesome to see us both starting on the same tribe together, but at the same time it's gonna be a problem. I mean, this is All Stars. Who wouldn't wanna win a season like this? I'm already gonna be a huge target because I'm literally the 'original bad guy' of this whole show, and I'm gonna be a physical threat on top of that. Why make things even worse for me? I would have been foolish making a pre-game alliance with him. We were scared to death by simply having that conversation, 'cause there a bunch of nosy people out here!"

After he was done with Wolf, Mario's arch-nemesis was in another scene with Ridley, the two of them walking together in another part of the forest to collect more firewood. Realistically though, the two of them wanted some alone time together and Bowser even waited a couple minutes after Ridley already left the shelter just to avoid suspicion.

Why did they needed to talk alone? Simple. Another pre-game alliance!

"People are gonna think I'm looking for an immunity idol at this point..." Bowser sighed laughing. "So what do we do?"

"Okay, so you and me, correct?" Ridley pointed at the Koopa first before at himself. "Nothing has changed..."

"Nothin'..."

"Good." And it was official. Bowser and Ridley were in an alliance. "We're obviously the two strongest people on this tribe, and I am not planning on losing a lot of challenges. Not this time... You in particular are the only contestant in this competition that has made it to the merge while losing every tribal immunity challenge..."

"Way to rub it in..." Koopa was tired of getting reminded by that, even though sometimes he brought it up himself. "It's not like I want it to happen again. The same thing can't happen to me twice... I hope..."

"That is why we both need each other in this game." Ridley told him. "My team didn't have the majority of the numbers at merge because we lost the most challenges. And I want to be more in control this time. We need to establish this alliance, and we need to watch out for each other."

"I'm with you, man..." He folded his arms. "If we go after each other, we're dead..."

"Ridley, however, is not a bad guy to have a pre-game alliance with. We were both huge villains in our seasons because we don't take _ from nobody." Bowser needed to wash his mouth... with soap. "Outspoken, but strong-minded. We can relate to each other pretty well with that, so he's perfect for a number one ally. And,... hahaha! I kinda felt honored when he was actually called 'Bowser 2.0' by one of his tribemates while I was watching Caribbean. It only shows how much of an impact I have on this show. But this tribe needs us for these physical challenges or none of us are gonna win."

"You're a big threat, I'm a big threat." The dragon stated. "...I suppose one opportunity I didn't take was not aligning with the Reptile Runaways. If you've seen K. Rool's Ponderosa, he told me that he was thinking about including me in his alliance if I was a bit more... sociable. If I was putting myself more out there. ...Maybe to make up for it, that could be what we can call this thing since we're both reptilians..."

#ReptileRunaways2

The... '.0' part was not possible to be included in the hashtag.

"Hahaha! Don't worry. This whole social game is not my strongest suit either. I prefer cut-throat strategy and winning challenges. But Reptile Runaways does sound good enough for me. We can probably hit K. Rool up after this is over."

"The biggest criticism I've received from the Survivor community is me blatantly ignoring the social aspect of Survivor strategy." Ridley admitted. "Yet at the same time, anyone that knows me knows that I'm not very sociable. I dismissed it because I figured it was only for weak-minded individuals. Just getting to the strategy itself was the main thing I was focusing on, but even I've learned that forming some kind of relationship with possible allies could actually be beneficial. Meta Knight of course was the main one that made me realize that. Though due to my personality, I could only do so much... Luckily for me, Bowser is someone that I could actually... relate to. He understands me and I understand him. Only difference is that even he is more outgoing."

Yet he still had the 'villainy' in him that made him and Ridley have something in common. If Ridley had a best friend, off the bat it was going to be Bowser nine times out of ten.

"Position wise, where do you think you and I stand in this group?" The Metroid antagonist asked. "You think it's gonna be a 'group mentality' for now?"

"I think that's gonna be the case." Bowser nodded in agreement. "We're gonna get looked at, but the fact that we're the strongest here is gonna make people want to keep us around... But I think what the tribe should do that would be best for us is to go after a big target who is not the strongest in this group."

"Plague Knight? ...Shadow?"

"One of those two." Good. Two possible targets on the board for Bowser and Ridley. "Shadow is the most dangerous because he backstabbed people multiple times, and Plague and Specter are on the same tribe together, and Specter played a big part of Plague making it all the way to the end."

"I think it should be Plague first and then Shadow." Ridley figured. "The longer Plague stays here, the more of a target he will become. I don't know if Shadow is gonna have any close allies... Maybe Foxy somehow, but I don't even know with that. I'm still trying to figure out who might align with who."

"Same here... Now let's finish getting this firewood and come back to camp one at a time..."

Villains

Night 1

It was now officially the first night of the first All Star season, and all ten players of the tribe were relaxing in the shelter all talking among themselves. Ryu happened to be the one to get the fire started with the flint off screen, so there was no reason for the red team to panic at all. They had their fire, they had their shelter completed, and they had their water. All the basic survival needs in order to make it in the wild.

And with them being experienced All Stars, they already knew what to do.

"This lair seems nice." Wolf was lying flat on his back, his clawed hands behind his head. "I wonder how much sleep we'll be able to get tonight..."

"Around this time in my season, we didn't even get fire on the first night." Ryu brought up season three. "We had that four hour hike to camp and the sun was already was already going to set by the time we arrived, and we knew the shelter had to be done quickly. We only prayed that we won that challenge in order to get the flint the next day so that we could have a fire. ...Ain't that right, Specter?"

"Mmm-hmm." He remembered it all too well, him resting his elbow on his knee while in a sitting position. "All of that only for us to find out we placed last in the challenge, and I was beyond irritated..."

"Haha!" Plague Knight suddenly pointed right at his face. "My team won instead and we already made our own fire without flint anyway!"

He rolled whatever eyes he had under his helmet. But hey, it was definitely an insult to him. It was best to give the man a break, right?

"My team didn't get fire on the first night, either..." Bowser said.

"I ended up having to help make a fire twice." Ridley heaved a sigh. "Both for day one, and when I was put on a tribe..."

Shadow the Hedgehog was actually shown near the middle of the shelter between those characters speaking. He remained silent, which played a factor of not many other survivors paying him any mind.

"I want those Heroes to be as miserable as possible." Foxy joked. "We actually need to pray for... the Survivor Devil or something to make sure they actually don't have fire at this point, even without their flint."

"We are competing against them." Ryu agreed. "Glad they're all here and we wish no unnecessary harm to 'em, but we can't lose the first challenge. Worst case scenario, losing the first challenge could dictate the whole season... Bowser,... whatever you do, please do not put a curse on us."

Almost all of the tribe just had to laugh, including Koopa himself.

"Well, I can beg for you all to not curse me!"

"..." Shadow silently groaned to himself.

"Me being one of the ten notorious villains this show has seen, coming on here, I figure I'd be rather more... comfortable with some of the other contestants. We're all the same kind of people coming into this game, and yet... even though we aren't really known for the social aspect of the game, people on this tribe are being just that. Even players such as Bowser or Specter of all people. Even Ridley was commenting on things a few times, while I simply faded in the background, which I am more than fine with. I mean, I've been a loner for pretty much my whole life. If this was anything but Survivor, I wouldn't give a rat's ass about it. ...Do you know how small that is?"

Uh...

"With our new popularity and fame, Rodin is literally going to be at the Gates of Hell hosting Survivor parties every week when this season starts to air." revealed Springtrap. "I even have plans to stop by and surprise fans when the first episode gets released!"

"He's gonna be hella busy." commented Ryu.

"Oh, he wouldn't be working, especially since he's gonna be the main attraction. His employees will. Bayonetta's gonna be there, too. ...Maybe we should hire a couple bodyguards, cause... you never know, you know?"

"Hmm..." Specter Knight sounded, taking a shift to Plague Knight for a moment. "Do you by chance know anything about possible plans at the Juice Bar in the village or at the House of Joustus?"

He hunched his shoulders in reaction. "I dunno. Ask King or Shovel..."

"Yet in this game of course," The ebony hedgehog heaved a great long sigh. "this social game does in fact exists and it has unfortunately proven itself to play a crucial role in strategy talk. It is simply harder for me to bring myself to it, even though this is my second season. I am not aware of any possible pre-game alliances, and off the bat I don't know if I have any close allies... And I do feel like I could be on the chopping block rather early based off of how I played in Survivor - Emperors vs Knights. I don't know exactly what I should do out here to survive, but I need to think long and hard about it... Perhaps I need the help of Sonic of all people... Not saying that I have to be more like him, but I might have to stoop that low for advice. The problem is that we're not even on the same tribe..."

Okay, that was a long chapter as well.

One thing I'm a little concerned at the moment is the whole character developments and character moments this season. If this was a newbie season, I would have an even easier time developing the castaways. But since this is a returning player season where peoples' personalities are already established, it's gonna be a bit more difficult when it comes to character development, especially due to the tighter competition.

Kodai Island will hopefully remain as the most "gamebotty" season of this series, though. I guess the main thing I would need to do is to continue to develop these personalities and let the characters evolve, depending on what's gonna happen to them.

But anyway, tell me what you all think about all of this. Thoughts on tribe dynamics? Plans of the contestants of the first day? Pre-game alliances? Reviews would be much appreciated as usual. My poll is open for possible winner picks.

Next time we will continue on with day two and then we will head to the first immunity challenge! Chapter three will be released this weekend on Sunday!
