"Why don't you let me look after the child?"

The older sister shouts at the younger one, still unhappy with the decision.

"For the millionth time, no! You will not adopt Maleficent's baby!"

The fairy godmother shouts. For her, it's an unreasonable idea to bring a villain's child to live in Auradon, and knowing King Adam, he would never permit it.

"By the Holy Fairy Helena, it's just a baby, why should it have to pay for its mother's mistakes?"

She gives the speech that Benjamin will give years later.

"You know it wasn't just Maleficent who had children, right? The Evil Queen, Ursula, and others are also having kids."

"But none of them are her children." She took a deep breath to calm herself. "And how is the baby? Are you taking good care of it?"

"It's receiving the same care as the others."

"Helena! It's a baby we're talking about. The king's son won't be born until next month, and the queen has three doctors around her at all times."

She knows that "Receiving the same care as everyone else" is the same as "being treated like human garbage."

"What do you want me to do? Do you think there are any doctors in a sane mind who want to help Maleficent? Especially giving birth?"She answers as if it were obvious."We sent Yen Sid there, I think he might be of some help." Helena turned her face away, wanting to ignore it. "It's a girl."

"Have you seen her? What name did Maleficent give her? Tell me what she looks like."

Her excitement flashed back to weeks ago, when she heard about the pregnancy.

"Yes." She sat down again for a civilized conversation. "As I told you, other villains are also having children. Yen Sid is keeping us up to date with everything, and she is, if I'm not mistaken, the second or third child to be born." She did the math on the births the wizard had told her about. "But from what he told me, it seems the whole island is still in shock. Maleficent being a mother, who would have thought?" In the fairy's mind, the question is, "Who is the madman who had a child with her?" "It's a girl, she was born prematurely. One month ahead of schedule..." She read the letter the wizard had sent. "There's magic. She was born with a dragon mark on her left forearm, and her few hairs are purple, a sign of magic."

"She's half fairy, then?"

Nanny thinks.

"That's what it looks like."

"And how will she survive on an island without magic? She can't, we have to..."

"That's out of our hands, sister, and if it's any consolation, Maleficent hasn't shown any feelings for her daughter."

"And the name?"

Helena laughs again, remembering the iconic name given to the baby. "It's Better you see for yourself." "She's still the same, sister, and the daughter will live out the same fate."

United States of Auradon

"Mal, are you feeling sick?"

Evie asks, stopping her sewing to pay attention only to her friend and think about the possibilities that are circling in her head.

"A bit, why?"

Mal has no idea what's going on in her friend's head, so she continues to look at the dress she's wearing.

"Your period? Normal?"

She asks a more direct question so that her friend understands what she's talking about.

"Yeah, actually..." Her mind thinks about what her friend is considering: "No, not that, Evie, it's impossible."

"It's not impossible, isn't it, M., and you know it." The blue-haired woman put her work tools on the table and walked over to her. "Wait, we're talking about the same thing, aren't we?"

"Yes, Evie, we are, unfortunately. It could be a food infection or a hormonal problem."

"Come on, Mal, have a heart! Since when has a food-borne infection made your breasts bigger?"

"Listen to me, E. It's impossible."

"Why? Don't you have sex with Ben?"

"Because it is!" Mal yells at her, and Evie hates it when she does that. "It has to be a lie." The Evil Queen's daughter goes to her cell phone to type a message. "What are you doing?"

"Asking Carlos to stop by the pharmacy. He's really had nothing to do, he doesn't want to work anymore."

"What are you doing? Are you talking to the boys?"

"What? Did you want me to talk to Ben?"

An agonizing few minutes passed before Carlos arrived. She knows that the signs in her body scream that yes, she is pregnant, yet her mind and heart speak inside her, begging whoever it is not to have anything growing inside her belly. She can't be a mother.

"Okay, it's here." Carlos appeared accompanied by Jay with a bag in his hands, which was brutally grabbed by Mal. "You're welcome, rude." The little purple girl took the bag and ran to the bathroom. Last time, three years ago, she helped Evie, so she knows what to do. "What's wrong with her?"

"I'll give you an answer in a bit."

He has no idea what's going on. Evie sat worried and anxious.

She knows Mal well enough to know that motherhood was never part of her plans. An accidental pregnancy? The girl would freak out, for sure.

"Fairy Godmother,

As I told you in the reports, some of the villains are having children. Don't ask me who, because I've given up those details, but apparently some lunatic decided to have a baby with Maleficent. I'm guessing that between Hades and a bank robber from Corona, she was seeing both of them, but I won't be the one to ask about the paternity of this child. The imposing dragon was now locked in the house, complaining of foot pain and nausea—a funny scene, I must admit. Since all I know about her is what I've been told, she doesn't seem scary to me.

Well, the child who is the subject of this letter. She was born prematurely. A month early. The day she was born, everything was a terrible mess. I don't think I've ever seen a birth like that. Despite the fact that the child was born early, everything went well. The baby girl was not born with horns, thank God, in fact, I dare say she is a beautiful little baby. She seems too pure to live in this dirty place. Her mouth is tiny like a princess's, and her eyes are as green as her mother's, but hers are so intense that they give me the creeps. She was born with a dragon mark on her left forearm, and her few hairs are purple, a sign of magic. However, since she will never leave the island, I don't think we should worry, especially when we don't know if this child will survive. It seems to me that she is half fairy, and to be born here without any contact with magic seems to condemn her to certain death.

I'm afraid the saddest part of this story was that Maleficent didn't develop an emotional bond with her daughter, there's no love there, unfortunately. I feel for the child, she's a really adorable baby, and if it weren't for the hair, I'd say she could live normally with the Auradonians nobility. Well, that's it; we shouldn't worry now; it obviously has magic in its veins, but it won't use it. You Auradonians are safe. The lady will find the baby's name funny. Maleficent, who thinks she's superior to everyone else, gave her daughter her own name but said the girl would only use it when she's worthy, for now, it's just Mal. Maleficent's sweet daughter is named Mal, it's funny that such a lovely creature was born from that being, don't you think?

Signed: Yen Sid.

Nanny smiled wider than ever and cried harder than ever when she read the document. Everything was going to end well, her heart told her so.

This is impossible, she wants to believe it was, but that's not what the four tests said.

"Positive, pregnant."
