Survivor - Heroes vs Villains
Chapter 16 - Day 13 Part 2
Back again.
So now we can officially start the next phase of this season, the swap. The Villains have the obvious advantage on both sides, and off the bat Donkey Kong is already upset. (Not like we can blame him or anything.)
I'm gonna briefly mention something about next season... New location... 20 players.
...And that's it for right now. Next season will officially be announced at the end of the first chapter post-merge.
(Quick side note. When "Brawlstar" is mentioned here, it is this universe's version of Worldstar)

La Vega
Day 13
Donkey Kong, Bowser, Yoshi, Wolf, Foxy, Golden, Springtrap
-/-
Welcome to Las Vegas!
Oh... La Vega.
The seven castaways all made it to their beach, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, and Golden doing the honors by introducing the four villains that were invading their camp to their new home.
"This is our shelter. Springtrap, this is the old Samana beach." Yoshi told him in particular. "I would tell you welcome back, but... you never even visited Samana in our season."
"Ha! True." He snickered in reaction as he observed the place. "Looks pretty open. Vector better be glad that he at least gets to enter new territory. The Villains camp is a whole new beach."
Oh yeah. By the way folks, it was never brought up in the last chapter, but remember when it was said that all three Shovel Knight characters were going to be on Valverde? On La Vega, all three Five Nights at Freddy's characters were all on the same team. Perhaps another possibility for an official series alliance?
Who knew what the Survivor Gods had in store for them...
"My apologies in advance, but due to us not winning a single challenge other than yesterday," Golden spoke out. "we don't really have much. We don't have the comfort or the fishing gear. Only thing we have is the flint."
"We can handle it." Wolf found no issues. "We've all played before. And by the way, let's just get this straight before we really get into things... So, the stuff we said to each other before in front of Master Hand... All that trash talking we threw at each other? I'm not gonna lie when I said that we often found it funny to throw you guys under the bus every chance we got back at the lair. But you guys might already know this and I shouldn't have to explain anything, but I'm gonna do it anyway. I meant no hard feelings to any of you, and I can pretty much say the same regarding the rest of my old teammates."
"I back him up on that..." Foxy raised his hand.
"Same." Springtrap mumbled.
Bowser laughed. "Even though it was pretty funny!"
"Likewise." Donkey Kong grinned. "We're all just having fun. This is a game, but this is also a TV show. We had to acknowledge the theme somehow, and we deserve a pat on a back. I think we did a pretty good job."
"It's all for a good laugh." Wolf extended an arm allowing all of the Heroes to shake his hand. "I ain't no comedian, but I gotta find some way to entertain myself. ...Though I still think us Villains are better because we say we're better."
"Talk all the _ you want to. I may appear calm on the surface, but when you try to play games with me I can have a mouth, too. Taking a man's kindness as a weakness is always a grave mistake, especially if you're messing with the wrong person." It was clearly best to not test Donkey Kong's patience, him taking a brief moment to glance Bowser's way. "As for you over there, we have history. I'm still not afraid to kick your ass and teach you a lesson like I did last season."
He was actually onto something there. They were both powerhouses, so Bowser had some competition there. And without any shade, Donkey Kong was perhaps just a little more physically fit.
"What?" Bowser glared, wasting no time coming his way to stand right in front of his face. "Mad that your team lost every immunity challenge, punk? At least now you understand how I felt. You know better than to start with me, so let's make ourselves clear... We don't throw challenges just to give you all a free pass. You're the one that needs to humble yourself after Mewtwo voted you out!"
Springtrap felt it was the perfect opportunity, covering his mouth with both of his hands. "Fight! Fight! Fight!"
Of course Donkey Kong did not flinch at all, nor did he change his facial expression. "You're talking about yourself, then. You were a victim of his as well, so try not to drag yourself or else I'll make you look even more stupid."
Literally the rest of the tribe could not have helped themselves but laugh.
"Brawlstaaaaaar!" yelled out Springtrap.
"I just felt like I wanted to make a statement to the Heroes." said Wolf as he relaxed in the sand. "Technically, I ain't had to say nuttin'. I could have just kept things moving without owing anyone an explanation. But you know what? In the chance that people are rather sensitive on the island as well as their fans online, I wanted to make sure everyone knew that all those insults and trash talking were not personal attacks... obviously. But actually,... perhaps you consider it as more of a game move if anything. I love my tribe, but I know if I want any relationship with some of the heroes, I need to remind myself to... play nice. If I make it to the end, I might need some of those jury votes to crown me winner of All Stars. So I decided to be honest and simply let them know... Only thing that cost me was my ego."
It took them quite a bit of time, but at some point during the day, himself, Foxy, and Springtrap finally had the chance to talk to each other on the low.
"Okay..." Wolf heaved a sigh of relief. "How do you feel, boys?"
"I feel pretty damn good." Springtrap mumbled. "We just made an alliance yesterday and it's already paying off. We have Bowser over here who we have no problems with, and DK and Golden are the two strongest heroes. I think we could win some more challenges. Help them get a break a little. Only person who we might not gain anything from is Yoshi."
"That right there." The lupine immediately pointed a finger at him. "What you just said. Off the bat he should be a target for the three of us and our Villains Tribe Alliance. He's an easy vote, weakest link of the team, safest option."
"No better words were spoken my friend." He was all over the idea.
"We just gotta make sure we don't lose, though." Foxy just did not want to go back to tribal. "We might have a target in mind, but why not win while we still can, anyway? We'll do our best to make sure the other team loses both immunity challenges and hope we enter the merge with as many numbers as possible."
"We can't flip on each other." Wolf immediately shook his head at the possibility. "That'll be terrible..."
"We must count on each other." Springtrap responded. "You two are going to be my brothers out here. Just don't write my name down."
Foxy was just as determined as the other two anthros were. "Same on your end, because I'm not gonna let anyone throw you or him off board and have you two get killed. Not on my watch."
O'Donnell ended up snickering loudly. "'Throw us off board'? You mean off your ship, captain?"
"Haha! Look, I lost my entire alliance in my season and I just lost an ally last night. I am not looking forward for a repeat of that."
"Well I was basically the last of my alliance, too." Springtrap... was not really wrong. Vector voted with his alliance in an attempt to take out Chrom in the K. Rool blindside, but then he switched and stuck with Ken and Simon's group. "I know how you feel."
"The swap couldn't have went any more perfectly for me. Foxy, Wolf, and I, we're three sneaky, anthropomorphic players. That's the main thing we have in common. We weren't out of the gate the most threatening in our original season, but later on we became targets in the long run due to our sneaky, yet villainous gameplay. And Wolf and Foxy are already my two closest allies, so why not make an official alliance? Except for the Sheik blindside, everything has gone according to plan for me. No one is even thinking about putting my name down for anything, I have options, my tribe alliance has the majority, we're a physically strong team, and all the while I can just sit still and look pretty. The low target that I had on my back coming out here is really working! Maybe I do have a shot at winning this..."
Now what about the Heroes' side?
They managed to find the time to talk to each other as well by the beach.
"I'm scared..." Yoshi brought his hands to his face. "Already..."
"Well at least we might have an increased chance of winning a challenge." Golden glanced at the bright side. "This team seems pretty stacked."
"But I'm the weakest link of the whole team!"
"If you're the weakest link of the team, that's actually a good thing in this case." In the bear's eyes he found something positive in Yoshi's predicament. "You were never bad in the challenges in your season. You were just put on a team with six people that are physically stronger than you, so it only shows how stacked we are."
"But still!" Regardless, from Yoshi's point of view he had enough reasons to worry. "What you just said! I'm the weakest out of everyone here! If we do lose, I could be going home because I'm the weakest in the challenges!"
"We're gonna make sure none of us are going home." Donkey Kong shook his head. "I'm tired of seeing heroes going home. Even when the first villain of the game got voted out, we had to send one of our guys out anyway. ...Well at least you all did."
He sighed knowing what he meant. "I'm sorry..."
"It doesn't matter now." Golden was right. The heroes needed each other. "We are down in numbers on both sides. There are only six of us left. Even if me and DK ended up being on the wrong side of the fence on that vote, we have to strategically put our differences aside for now. One more hero going home is not going to do any of us favors."
"I was kind of doing alright in this until now. I was in every vote so far, I had a great ally in Vector and was very pleased to align with him again,... and now I'm on the bottom. Golden and DK aren't even part of my alliance and they're both over here. My entire core alliance is on the other team. Now DK and Golden told me that there was nothing to gain for us if another hero went home, but some parts of me are saying that if worst comes to worst, they could just take the easy route and send me home by me having no allies over here and being the weakest of the team... My two biggest hopes are either by us finally winning immunity, or somehow take out one of those villains. I don't wanna go home..."
Okay. So on the surface Yoshi had the chance of being swap screwed. Not good for him at all.
Now as for Donkey Kong, he had his own reasons to be upset.
"I'm gonna go back to the shelter." The dinosaur decided head back. "I don't want them to see us like this."
"We'll be right behind you." Golden assured him, making sure he was out of sight so that he could talk to his friend alone. "...You okay, man?"
Feeling more comfortable expressing his emotions, DK heaved out a great sigh. "Can anything else happen, Golden? Seriously... I know I had a hard time in Kodai Island, but this is making my first season look like nothing!"
"Survivor is brutal, but it can especially brutal to certain people depending on what kind of luck you have out here. And I'll be the first to admit. Sometimes, people are just lucky enough to scrap by every now and then,... and sometimes there are those that always seem to get the short end of the stick."
"More like the _ end of the stick..." He exhaled once again. "If Meta Knight just voted with Isabelle at our first tribal, neither of us would be in this situation right now. Still possibly down in numbers, but we've been dealing with a lot the whole game and we both know..."
"I do gotta say that you're doing a good job trying to keep a level head out here. Some people might just lose it and only make things worse for themselves. Even for me, I was on the bottom before, but you clearly went through more than I did and I placed higher than you. That was a big blindside last night and I felt terrible."
"If Meta somehow predicted that Shovel Knight of all people was going to be a flipper on him... Ugh..." He brought a hand to his face. "But there was no way any of us could have predicted that. It's just a series of unfortunate circumstances."
"I suppose one thing that is keeping your head above water is the hidden immunity idol."
That was right. That was the one thing that had the chance of saving Donkey Kong's life at tribal. "True, and I'm glad to have it. Otherwise I would be feeling even worse. It's either us winning immunity or us trying to find a way to properly overthrow the Villains."
"This is literally a situation where anything that could have gone wrong, has gone wrong. Golden is the only close ally I have left. Thankfully, we both end up on the same team at the swap, but we're still on the bottom since we now have an entirely different tribe alliance to worry about. All we have is Yoshi. He knows we voted differently and now we're on the bottom of the Heroes Tribe Alliance. Sure all me and Golden can do is throw him under the bus, but that's not thinking about the big picture. I'm trying to win this thing, not just make it to the next day. ...Guess this goes to show that you can know a lot of about Survivor, but no matter what, whatever hand fate has in store for you out here in a game like this, it's just what you have to deal with. Basically, you can't ever have too many expectations out here because Survivor is never easy. If you think otherwise, you're wrong. I've never seen a game so unpredictable such as Survivor..."
Valverde
Day 13
Zelda, Ridley, Shadow, Vector, Ryu, Shovel Knight, Specter Knight, Plague Knight
-/-
Sure, Valverde did not seem as interesting of a tribe name like La Vega. But hey, it was better to call it something than the master telling three heroes to head to the Villains camp. That was why he gave the teams new tribe names in the first place.
Yet due to the Villains taking over the majority on their camp as well as their opponents', they literally had their cake and ate it too. Except for the double elimination, perhaps Master Hand was correct. Everything has gone their way up to this point.
"Welcome home." Ryu announced as soon as everyone made it to the beach.
"Nice to head somewhere new for a change." Vector commented. "It shows that there are still some areas to explore..."
"We'll give you the rundown of the tribe and how things go on around here." He stated. "But first, I'll be honest. ...We're all quite curious here regarding what happened."
"You mean our tribal?" asked Zelda.
"About Meta Knight." Ridley put it bluntly. "What happened?"
"Yeah, I wanna know." Plague Knight nodded out of interest. "Did everybody vote for him, or..."
"Yep. We all voted for him. We blindsided him because of him being a threat and possibly having an idol." Damn... Good going, Vec. Not only he only told them a half-truth to their faces, but it was the fact that he knew that almost his entire core alliance was on the Valverde beach. With Donkey Kong and Fredbear on La Vega, he, Shovel, and Zelda had less on their plate to deal with. "We just had to do it. He even could have won this season somehow if we let him go too far."
"Hmm..." sounded Ridley. Maybe he had a couple conversations with him before the season even started. He likely felt bad for the poor thing.
"Was Sheik unanimous?" Shovel wondered.
"Yeah..."
"Wow..."
"That sucks." Vector was disappointed for her. "I guess it's the way how we didn't expect Sheik to go this early just how we didn't expect Meta Knight to go this early."
"Looking at things,... I don't think this could have turned out any better for me! ...Well, Bowser is my number one ally and he's unfortunately not here. But Ryu is. And the tribe alliance has the majority. Now last time the teams swapped, I ended up getting blindsided by my own alliance due to them not trusting me. So hopefully in the chance that I do go to tribal, that it does not happen to me twice... Besides, Bowser has Donkey Kong and Golden on the other side, and Ryu and I have Vector. This could be a major opportunity for us to see the game from his perspective and what direction he wants to take. I'm certain on one thing, though. Even though Vector and I had bad blood, you are a fool to think that I play emotionally. Vector is a hundred percent not going anywhere."
Who was he to say? He was only one person out of eight people.
One of the first things he wanted to do was to have a mini-alliance meeting with Ryu.
"Not saying you're turning on me or anything, but I want to make sure that we're both on the same page." He told him, the two evils talking in the grass.
"I mean I gotta trust somebody out here." The street fighter replied. "I can't turn on you and Bowser."
"Alright, then. Maybe not at this minute, maybe not this afternoon, maybe not early next morning, but at some point we need to have that conversation with Vector. We need as many numbers as possible before we get to the merge. I will not have a repeat of what happened to me before."
"Heh..." Ryu chortled slightly bringing a hand to his head. "I suppose I know what it's like to not have everybody trust you. ...And what do you know, I'm still on the same tribe as him..."
Now Ridley was curious about where exactly Ryu's game was heading with Specter. "Are you still against him?"
It was probably most appropriate to have them both have a talk with each other!
"You think we're in a great position?"
"...Obviously we are." Specter Knight nodded sitting on a log. "It's five against three. The heroes know the vote was unanimous on Sheik, so hopefully they would have less confidence on trying to break us villains apart."
"How do you think we'll fare off in the challenges?"
"Hopefully we'll be fine. Ridley gives us all of the strength we need, and we also have you and Vector. Plague Knight, Zelda, and Shovel Knight are all on the same team, and that means plenty of help in the puzzle area."
"Very true." That was something Ryu agreed on.
"...Who do you expect to heroes the target, however?" Specter was then curious of what his foes were going to do. "They have to write down somebody at tribal..."
"Hmm..." Interesting question for him to think about. "You know, I hate to say this, but they'll be likely to target the three of us... including Plague. We all come from the same season and the three of us are still together right now."
It caused an immediate sigh from the Shivaland contestant. "They will probably go after me most likely. You are stronger in challenges, Plague is better at puzzles, and I was already perceived as the most dangerous by everyone on the old Villains tribe. Imagine what the heroes think..."
"They're only gonna think the exact same as our teammates. But I'll vote with you if we need each other..."
"In the event that we do lose a challenge, I really do not care which of the three goes home. I'm too busy focusing on making sure that I'm here to just die another day. Honestly I would throw Plague under the bus right now, but after what took place at our tribal, I feel rather more on edge. If I have to keep both you and Plague around just for the sake of my game, I'll do just that. ...Would you do the same?"
"I got you." Ryu decided to extend arm to allow Specter to shake his hand. "As long as you don't make somebody idol themselves out of the game, again."
Underneath his helmet, Specter had the face of 'don't even start with me'. "I'd rather do whatever it takes to save an ally I can work with than get rid of your own trustworthy tribe members for no reason."
Ooh. Get him!
"It definitely would be interesting if we try to work together again, but I'm sorry. I just don't trust Specter... I just told him exactly what he wants to hear." So was Ryu's 'truth' to Specter half-assed? "He should have left in Sheik's place, but he's still here. And now it's at a point to where I don't know what's gonna happen with him. All I want for him to do is to not vote me out. I need to be the one that gets rid of him. But you know what you gotta do. You gotta put your emotions aside and keep a level head out here. If he has to stay, he has to say. Whenever it is the right time to get rid of him, I'll be there. I just can't... I just can't allow Specter Knight to have another opportunity to ruin my game. If he actually does that again, I am going to have to live with what happened in Mexico for the rest of my life... Unless I play Survivor a third time..."
Alright, so that was enough of the Villains Tribe Alliance at the time.
As for the losers, Vector, Zelda, and Shovel Knight already knew they were in trouble... since they knew how to count. No need for them to be lectured for that.
"Well, that went well..." The croc harshly rolled his eyes. "Seriously. I know it's something we all should have expected, but come on!"
"Vector, calm down." Both Zelda and Shovel Knight almost instantly began scanning the grassy area they were in with their eyes. "You know anyone could be anywhere..."
"Sorry, but goodness gracious!" Well, he had thirteen days to the point where he got pissed the hell off, and it was happening right before the eyes of his teammates. "Can we ever get a break? Come on! I'm over this! I seriously am, and I know you two are, too!"
"Everyone that came from our camp understands your frustration. You have a right to be." Shovel responded. "But in order for us to stay focused, we need to keep our composure."
"So what, we have one more of us being voted off next round and then what happens? Five of us will be left while nine of the Villains are still here?" He glared at them both. "Caribbean was not nearly as stressful as this! When are we ever gonna get a break?"
"You can only take so much." The Chaotix leader said in self-defense. "I am not one for patience at all (yet another trait Espio has over me), but I have tried my damnest to have as much patience as I can, but... nothing is working. Nothing seems to be going right whatsoever. Even with a villain leaving last night, we didn't gain much because we still lost somebody. It seems as if the Survivor devil really does not want anyone from the Heroes tribe to win this season. We're gonna be pulling off Sumasshu numbers at merge if two more of us leave before that. Like, I get it. The Villains are more entertaining than the Heroes. But look at what's happening. We're the ones that are clearly working twice as hard out here while the Villains get all the luxury, laughing in our faces every time we lose a challenge. Somebody needs to knock them off our high horses now."
"It's setback after setback! If they were to ever do a season such as Survivor - David vs Goliath or something, this would be perfect!"
Umm,... Vector?
"The Villains get to have everything!"
"Well the one thing we have going for us is that the three of us are together." Zelda was not going to be too pessimistic just yet. "We might not have Yoshi, but other than him, our entire core alliance is together. We're a voting block of three, so we've no reason to turn on each other."
"Oh, yeah?" Vector folded his arms. "What else? Look, I appreciate trying to keep morale high, but I know inside you are upset about this as well. Shovel Knight is too if I can just see his face behind his helmet..."
"..." And he simply blinked underneath of it.
"Like, okay. So when I swapped in Caribbean, it was something similar." He explained. "It was a five against three just like this one. But in that season, I was actually in the majority of the alliance. Now it's the exact opposite."
"Then you can use it to your advantage, Vec." Zelda thought out loud. "You have the experience those villains are having right now. We can try to look through any crack we can. Sheik was apparently a unanimous vote, but of those nine players left, somebody has to be on the bottom. Either we flip a couple people over, or we can simply find an idol."
"Vector decided to let all of his emotions out as a way to vent his frustration. And I'll admit. I am disappointed as well. We've been getting the short end of the stick for a while. Last time my team swapped, I almost went home." But luckily for her, Greninja, Bonnie, and Sheik chose to get rid of Pac-Man instead in that round. "However, since I am so used to be an underdog, you could say that it has motivated me to fight stronger than ever before. Let's look at what we do have. Shovel Knight and Vector are two of my closest allies, and we have a couple of physically strong players here, so perhaps we could win a couple challenges. And looking at the Villains Tribe Alliance, every last player in that five are all big threats. I've played with Shadow before, he's obviously a big threat. Ridley is the strongest person here and might have some game in him. Specter and Plague are both here, and Ryu was known to betraying his old tribemates. All three of us in our alliance are nothing compared to them. And sometimes big threats do go after each other."
Hmm... This is weird. I expected last chapter to be a bit shorter, but I expected this chapter to be a bit longer for some reason. Meh... guess it balances the other out.
So anyways, the Heroes have it unlucky on both sides, challenge next chapter, then next vote off. Usual stuff.
