Harriette woke up the next morning to a chittering sound. That quickly turned into words.
"Small one," Whisker Friend called. Harriette sat up rubbing her eyes, before slipping her glasses on.
"G'morning,' Harriette said, greeting the raccoons. There were a few of them.
"What?" Whisker Friend asked.
"I'm sorry, too tired to speak right," Harriette said.
"Small human sleeps in night, right, forgetting," Whisker Friend asked.
"Tha's fine," Harriette said. Rubbing her eyes. "Wha's up?"
"Wh- I am guessing you asked why we are here. I am thinking Small one should meet Allies."
"Huh? Oh, like a nursery?"
"That is what humans is calling our groups?"
"Yes, this is for babies no- Is for groups form for babies…" Harriette shook her head. "Humans think that. If remembered correct."
"Yes, makes sense, allies meet Small one, Small one meet Allies; Dawn Watcher, Best Fisher, and Green Finder."
"Why's your name so different?" Harriette asked.
"What means?" Whisker Friend asked.
"Well, your name is Whisker Friend, they're called Dawn Watcher; I can guess what that could mean. Best Fisher is easy to guess, and Green Finder is pretty easy too."
"Oh, Whisker Friend is oldest, make… Nursery as you call, Dawn Watcher is sister and next oldest. Best Fisher and Green Finder were our mother's sister's young, Nursery got too big. Made this one. Lost old home, like small one, now here." Harriette nodded.
"I think I get it," Harriette said, not really getting it at all. Maybe Whisker Friend was a title. Maybe that's how the names worked. Harriette decided that it didn't matter. "Thanks for putting up with my questions."
"Is fine, Small one, sorry for waking," Whisker Friend said. "Sleep, the place above is not full of people yet. No hunting to be had there yet. Need food to sleep?"
"No, I will be good," Harriette said. "See ya tonight, tomorrow night."
"Yes," Whisker Friend left.
Harriette wasn't able to fall back asleep so she'd pulled out one of her school books to read. It was a library book. She was never going to be able to return it. She hoped they made Vernon pay for it. She decided to look through the rest of the dump after a while.
There were lots of things around the area too. She had to slide several boards across holes in order to traverse, but she found some cool stuff. Too, she spotted the raccoons scavenging for the food that got thrown down for them.
"Is still rather late? Are the Small one sick?" Dawn Watcher asked. Harriette shook her head.
"No more falling for-to back to sleep," Harriette said.
"Ah, yes, young sleep restlessly early," Dawn Watcher said. "Area safe for Nursery. You not hurt younge?"
"No hurt young," Harriette said. "Just seeing if anything more useful to find."
"Yes," Dawn Watcher said, "Seeking things to make den more comfortable. Wise for younge one. See you."
"See you." Harriette said. Heading off toward another section. Using her hand light to pick her way through the trash. She there were lots of different tunnels and piles of trash. She found a place filled with gross smelling water. She made her way back up. She was really going to need to find a way to tell time when down in the dump. She found a clock in the utility tunnels. It wasfsd still early but guests would be inside the building. Harriette made her way to the first bathroom. Brushed her teeth, hair and went to the bathroom, then headed about to scrounge up breakfast. She made her way to the restaurants and cleaned some tables till her stomach was full. Then she headed to the El chips arcade.

Harriette was getting used to her time in the pizzaplex. She made friends with several staff bots, wet floor bots, and vent patrolling TinyMusic-men. She'd marked out a good portion of all the ways in and out of the pizzaplex. She knew which restaurant tended to have the most careless customers. She'd woken up early on her fifth day of being on her own and between her previous day's exploration, the help of her raccoon friends and this day's explorations she'd mapped out the majority of all the useful things in the dump/sewer/garage area. She kept a watch for staff members, security, and too attentive customers. She was wandering around the main lobby, pretending to be heading to somewhere specific. She collected a second map, one that wasn't marked up for camouflage, she'd noticed an old lady staring at her and then she'd asked what the markings were for. Harriette had lied and said they were recommendations, but she'd decided it'd be best to have a different map to use.
The Mapbot she'd asked was pretty excited to hand one over. Most people seemed to want to ignore them, and only took one to get away from them. She'd even the Mapbot for directions. Even if she wasn't going to use them, it had made them pretty happy. Harriette heard a kid call for her mothers, Harriette hadn't meant to turn and watch. The two women stood together. Their daughter, and another boy. Their son, Harriette learned quickly, were offering congratulations and showing prizes won. Harriette gripped her Sundrop and Moondrop plushies. She'd decided that they should have their own names at some point in a sleepy haze the night before. She turned away from the family as quickly as she could. But her heart still ached at a loss she couldn't even remember experiencing.
She noticed another lost bag there a few days ago, but it had been themed so Harriette hadn't been sure about it. But since it was tucked in between the trashcan and a small wall thingy she figured it was probably fine. She picked up trash as she headed over to where it was settled on the sill of some fake indoor plant. When she was upstairs she slipped into a bathroom to look through it. Trying to distract herself from the almost seared in image of the two women and their children. She wasn't going to let herself get wrapped up in that. She couldn't afford to miss something that she'd never had. She sighed, shifting through the bag's contents. It was a fazbear themed bag, and it was filled with mostly useless things. Trash, and a pizza toy, who would even want fake food. Harriette had seen some at the daycare, but it still hadn't made any sense to her. You could fake eat without some weird toy. The bag was more useful. The jacket was too small, just when she was going to just put it back she spotted something in the bottom. A fazbear themed notebook and coloring pencils. Harriette brightened. Her first notebook hadn't had a lot of pages left. She lifted the notebook out to check, it was completely blank with almost all its pages intact. Harriette brightened even more. She shifted a little more and found a pair of scissors and a fazbear themed watch. She'd been thinking about that just the other day! She slipped the watch on, and put the notebook back in the bag. She'd carry it around to collect the other freebies around the place. She'd learned that the company left little prizes hidden throughout as some sort of promotional thing, to get more customers. She'd found a few too!
Harriette met up with Daisy and his friends. Being helpful to them allowed her to get around the plex more easily, and lessened her risk of getting thrown out.
"So, that's what I found," Harriette said. "I was thinking I'd make you a daisy for your hat!" Harriette said. Daisy chirped a delighted sounding beep. Harriette took that to mean she was being helpful. "So, I was wondering if you wanted a yellow daisy or a white one?" Harriette's watch beeped. Harriette flinched looking down at it. "Huh, what was that?" Daisy pointed to a few buttons. Soon Harriette had pulled up a chat log between her and Daisy.
'Something like my icon would be nice, but it might be too difficult,' Daisy said.
"Oh, wow, you can do that?" Harriette said. "This thing was an even greater find then I thought. I almost feel bad for the person who lost it."
'I believe there is a saying for that,' Daisy sent over.
"Oh, what?" Harriette beamed.
'Finder keepers,' Daisy started making a sound that Harriette was sure was supposed to be a laugh. Harriette giggled, then laughed.
"Yeah, well, they left it for several days so they probably won't be coming back for it, and I need it more than they do."
'Yes, they can be used to connect to the security system,' Daisy said.
"They can?" Daisy nodded his head in answer. "Oh, that's so cool," Harriette said thoughtfully. "How do I do that?"
"You'd have to go to a security office," Daisy said.
"That's not a good idea," Harriette said. "It's probably not safe to run that risk. Getting close to security." Daisy nodded, making a thoughtful noise.
'Would you perhaps like to meet a security bot that would probably help you?' Daisy sent over.
"I mean sure," Harriette started nervously. "But are you sure?" Daisy nodded.
'We were going to meet soon too, for a date,' Daisy made a sound that was very close to a sigh, the kind that Harriette heard from lovesick movie characters when she was listening in on the tv.
"Oh?" Harriette asked curiously. "So you like them?" Harriette teased. "Are they nice to you?"
'They are, and if they know that you are my friend they will help you too,' Daisy assured. Harriette fidgeting with her hands, nervousness clogging up her throat for a moment.
"O-o-o-kay," Harriette pushed through the tightness. Daisy put his hand on her back.

Harriette met Todd, Daisy's security bot 'friend'. They tapped heads in a way that humans did when they were close with each other. Thinking about it Harriette couldn't remember a time when Vernon and Petunia had done that. She'd seen lots of people outside her family do it. She had a dim memory of a red haired woman and dark haired man doing it too. She wasn't sure who they were, but it popped up in her head sometimes when she tried to think about what type of people her parents were. Harriette wondered if that's who they were, or if that's who she wanted them to be. Harriette shook her head. She didn't have time to think about that right now.
'This is Todd,' Daisy said over the message. Another chat came up. Checking Harriette actually found two. One was just Todd and the other was with both of them. Harriette grinned.
'Nice to meet you, Daisy mentioned he'd made a new friend,' Todd had said.
'See I told you he was nice,' Daisy said in their private message.
"Hi, Mr. Todd." Todd shook his head.
'Not Mister, just Todd the Security bot,' Todd explained. Harriette nodded.
"Okay," Harriette said. "I'm Harriette."
'Daisy told me,' Todd said, 'But I guess you can't understand us too well.'
"I'm trying to learn, but it's pretty complicated," Harriette pouted. Tobb patted her on the head.

Harriette went to her little home under the plex, with a promise to meet up with Todd and Daisy in the utility tunnels nearby to get the watch upgrade. So she focused on using the pair of scissors she'd found to make the daisy for daisy. She wasn't sure what to make for Todd to thank him, but she decided to make him a police star like she'd seen on a few of the tv shows she'd managed to see. That way she at least could tell him apart and she thought it was appropriate because security was basically like being a cop. Except better cause they had to do it without guns so they had to be smarter.
When she was finished she headed back up, still slipping past the various staff bots. She found the spot they agreed to meet, waiting for her two friends. They arrived soon after.
"Hi," Harriette said, waving as she hopped off the boxes she'd sat on an skipped over. She was on her own so he was going to skip all she wanted. She skipped to a stop, but continued to wave. "Hallow!" The two bots waved at her, before offering her the watch she'd found.
"Oh, thanks," Harriette slipped it on. She noticed there was a map app, and as well as the cameras and her chat logs. "Oh! I didn't know that you could have a map on this. It'll be so much easier to tavel now, I wonder if I can make changes to it. Ah! I can." Harriette said after a minute of fiddling. A message on in the chats.
'You can also scan your map, the one you made changes to,' Todd said. He showed her how to do it.
"Thanks," Harriette said smiling. "Oh! I made you guys something as a thank you!" Harriette said pulling out the star and Daisy. "Okay, well the daisy I made cause I promised but I made this one for you to say thanks." Harriette said. "I found safety pins and got them- I uh- I don't have glue but I still made them stick to each other. Oh, I guess, you need more of a magnet, huh?" Harriette lowered her head, and pouted. She knew it was childish to feel so disappointed but-. A message came as Todd took the star. Putting it in his chest compartment for now.
"It doesn't matter, I'll find something to attach it to and wear that,' Harriette read his message and sniffled, then Todd ruffled her hair.
Harriette went to bed the same way that she did every night. Tucking herself in and feeling just a little more confident then she did the night before.
