~Remnant-II~
Amid the relentless battle, Tyrian and Qrow continued their coordinated attacks. Tyrian, however, was unexpectedly kicked away by Clover, leaving Qrow to confront Clover alone, who deftly dodged Qrow's sword strikes and managed to hook his weapon onto Qrow's sword, disarming him. With a quick jerk, Clover sent Qrow's sword flying into the ground.
Clover then moved back to avoid Tyrian's kick aimed at his legs. Tyrian activated his Semblance and swiped at Clover, who narrowly evaded the attack. In a swift move, Tyrian grabbed Clover's rod with his left hand while clawing at Clover's face with his right, who countered by swinging his rod at Tyrian, who deftly blocked and dodged. Then, Tyrian leaped towards Clover, using his arms as a platform to launch himself off and land a few feet away.
Tyrian sprinted towards Clover again, but this time, Clover used his fishing line to restrain Tyrian, binding his arms to his sides. Tyrian fell to the ground and glared at Clover while Qrow, having recovered, sprinted towards Clover. Tyrian anticipated this and grinned, knowing what was coming next. As Clover turned his attention towards Qrow, he was met with a devastating punch to the gut, which sent him tumbling across the ground, his Aura shattered.
Qrow, panting heavily, confronted Clover, his emotions raging. "Why couldn't you have chosen the right path instead of following orders?"
Clover placed a hand on his stomach, struggling to his feet as he looked at Qrow. "Sometimes, the right choice is the hardest to make. I trust James with my life." With effort, he got back on his feet. "I wanted to trust you."
Suddenly, Qrow's sword thrust forward, and Clover leaned back with a yelp of pain. Blood splattered onto the snow. It was Tyrian who had driven Harbinger through Clover's back.
Or, that's how it was meant to be. However, something unexpected happened. Out of nowhere, a door. A seemingly ordinary door appeared and blocked the blade strike. Even more impressive was that the Tyrian Callows started to disintegrate. Why? Because he had malicious intent when he hit the door with the Harbinger.
Qrow and Clover looked at the door with incredulity. They both had a single thought. 'Did that really happen? Or am I drunk? Where did that door even come from?'
They looked at one another for the answer, but they had none. Immediately, they became alert as the door was starting to open. Qrow ran to his sword while Clover readied his rod. They watched as the door opened to reveal…Jaune.
Qrow breathed a sigh of relief. "Kid, you scared the shit out of me."
Jaune looked at Qrow with a smile. "Bird brain."
Qrow raised an eyebrow. "You've never called me that before. You look different, and not because your hairstyle looks good…" he became alert. "Who are you?"
Jaune disappeared from his spot, reappeared behind Qrow, and touched his shoulder. "No need to be alert."
Qrow looked back and tried to swing his sword, but his hand became empty. Clover looked at his hands, and they, too, were empty.
Then Jaune spoke. "Looking for these?" he showed them their weapon and made them disappear before their eyes.
Qrow squeezed his fist and was ready to fight. "Who are you, and what do you want?"
Jaune smiled. "Relax, I'm not here for a fight. I am Jaune, but not of this world."
Clover, ever the clever one. "Does that mean the theory of the multiverse is real?"
Jaune nodded. "Yup! Although, this is the first time I've traveled to a different version of Remnant. Before this, I traveled to a completely new universe."
He suddenly had a serious expression. "Tell me what happened here. I've been here for a minute and can already tell the world has become dark."
Clover had a thought. "That's interesting. Either your world did not follow the route of our world, or you are from an earlier timeline."
Qrow looked at Clover. "What do you mean?"
Clover answered. "He doesn't know about the darkening of the world. He might not know about the fall of Beacon either."
Jaune was shocked at what he heard. "The fall of what now?"
Qrow replied. "Kid, if you are from an earlier timeline, then buckle up. We have a lot to talk about."
Jaune sighed. "Before that, you guys seemed to be fighting earlier. Don't you want to solve that first?"
Qrow looked at Clover. However, an energy signature caught Jaune's attention. Looking at where he felt the energy, he opened his [Map] and used it as an assistant to teleport to the location. Of course, he took Qrow and Clover with him.
Once they arrived at the destination, Jaune saw someone fighting. She looked different, but there was no doubt it was Penny.
Jaune looked at the fight. "She is looking mighty different. Looks good on her…" he saw the person fighting Penny had the power of a Maiden, but not just any. It was the Fall Maiden's power.
Qrow and Clover felt a chill. It was more severe than the weather of Atlas. They looked for its origin and saw Jaune with a scary look.
With an angry look, Jaune asked. "Tell me, that woman, was she the one that attacked Amber and caused her to be put inside the machine at Beacon?"
Qrow nodded. "She is. We didn't know about it then since she was posing as one of the students of Haven…Kid, if you don't know that, then I need to give you another infor…" he did not complete his words as Jaune disappeared.
Cinder cries out angrily and flies toward Winter, who charges toward her. As they close the distance, the Manticore spits another fireball. Still, Cinder quickly changes her trajectory to go under the Manticore, using her fire jets to spin herself to slash the Manticore with a sword.
The summon dissolves, leaving Winter to fall, and before Winter can do anything, Cinder shoots another fireball at her, which breaks her Aura. She screams in pain, but Jaune then catches her.
Looking at her savior, she was pretty shocked as it was Jaune, and then something was shoved into her mouth, causing her to feel her Aura back. "Jaune Arc? How are you flying?"
Jaune held her in a throwing motion. "Talk later, kick her ass!" He threw her towards Cinder.
Seeing Winter being thrown at her, she was ready to go for the kill, but the sword did not pierce anything as Winter's Aura blocked it. "Impossible! I know I shattered it already."
Winter said. "Trust me. I'm just as shocked as you are." She thrust her weapon at Cinder.
Below them, Qrow and Clover just watched. They didn't know what they were meant to do. Their brain has yet to catch up to what is happening.
Qrow asked. "Should we…do something?"
Clover said. "I'm not sure. Does any of this make sense to you? I know I talked about the multiverse theory, but still…this is nuts! I still can't get my head around it!"
Qrow then said. "I just noticed something. I know you don't get affected by my semblance since you are the opposite of it. But that second Jaune was not affected as well."
Clover replied. "You're right. He should have been affected slightly since he came in contact with you. This is quite intriguing. Could he have a similar semblance to me?"
Unfortunately, Winter could not cause any harm to Cinder, which caused the deranged woman to laugh. "Ha-ha-ha! Is that all the specialist of Atlas is capable of? Not so special now, are we?"
As the manic woman laughed, she did not notice Jaune on top of her. Too bad for her, it was too late to notice as she was punched so hard that it seemed she teleported to the ground as she was embedded.
Penny watched what he did. "Uhm…Friend Jaune. Since when did you get so strong?"
Jaune looked at her. "Since when were you a robot? I can't believe Ruby has been holding back on us."
Penny was puzzled. "But, friend Jaune, you've known about me being a robot since my first body was destroyed during the fall of Beacon."
Jaune still wanted more information about that. "Sorry, Penny. But haven't you realized that I'm a bit different?"
Penny looked at Jaune, and she did see a big difference. He was taller and sexier, to boot. 'He did not look like that before. Did he get an upgrade as well?'
Jaune had a teasing smile on his face. "Did you just think I was taller and sexier than before?"
Penny was astonished. "How did you know what I was thinking?"
Jaune tapped his head. "I have [Telepathy]. Although your thoughts are a bit different from those of a normal person as it is in 1 and 0, since I studied engineering to further my Mechashift knowledge, I can easily understand what those 1s and 0s mean."
Penny was fascinated. "Your semblance is quite powerful if it can also be used against machines. Imagine using it against enemy machines and knowing what systems they will initiate before even initiating it."
The two conversed as they descended, but Jaune suddenly raised his hands to catch Winter. "Weiss has talked about her sister, but I didn't think you'd be this… hot!"
As they reached the ground, Winter said. "What are you talking about, Arc? Also, you're under arrest." She moved to cuff Jaune, but she heard him speak what seemed almost nonsense.
Jaune said. "Right. You probably don't know. I'm not the Jaune of this world. I come from a different version of Remnant. And our world is not as dreary as this world. And I'll never allow it to be so if I can help it!"
Penny said. "That means the multiverse theory is real! This is Sensational! My father is going to love hearing about it being real!"
Standing in wait in the area where Cinder was embedded, Qrow and Clover winced. "Oh! That's got to hurt."
Clover replied. "At least she was not disintegrated like Tyrian. Not even his ash remained. It's a shame, really. That bastard should have suffered more for all his transgressions."
Qrow nodded. "I agree."
Jaune looked at Qrow. "Yo, birdbrain. How is our little fugitive?"
Qrow replied. "Knocked out. I don't think she would be waking up pretty soon."
Jaune had a sinister look. This may not be the woman that harmed his Amber, but he would not let her go. "Oh, she will be waking up real soon."
Jaune reached his hand to Cinder, and he used his D.E. to give her magic circuits, causing her immense pain, wailing as it was forged into her body, and forcing the power of the Maiden and the Grimm's arm to leave her.
Jaune caught the power of the Maiden in a similar container as he used for Amber. As for the Grimm's arm, he destroyed it without a chance to be able to regenerate.
The best part is, before the magic circuit could have been formed completely, Jaune stopped the process, causing her to have a failed circuit that could not create even a single unit of mana. But what is worse is that she would never be able to accept the power of the Maiden…Ever!
Everyone looked at Jaune. Qrow asked. "Kid, what did you do to her? How did you force the Maiden's power to leave?"
Jaune explained. "It's simple, really. I gave her magic circuits. But before it could fully form, I stopped the process, causing the circuits to fail. She would never be able to receive the power of the Maiden in the future. Nor would she be able to use magic in any capacity."
Already awake due to her torturous pain, Cinder stood up. "W-What did you do?!"
Jaune looked at her. "Are you deaf? I already explained it. I'm not doing it again."
Out of anger, she attacked Jaune. "I'll kill you!" she formed a sword with her semblance and remaining materials.
However, she was not strong enough to scratch Jaune's armor. "Yeah, that's not going to happen." Jaune swatted her away.
Using his magic, Jaune trapped Cinder in her spot, frozen, but only her body, not her mind.
Jaune was going to say something, but Ruby and Weiss arrived.
