In a similar display as a few days ago in regard to Moon Knight making it to the news, I was patiently listening to the early morning broadcast that mentioned what happened yesterday with Ikari Yui.
The Ikari Enterprises was a growing business and the rescue of the heiress for said company had to get a lot of coverage. What really concerned me was less of the reputation I was getting as that was good... rather, I was concerned with the words uttered by Yui in regard to the situation.
"He was quite nice and thoughtful. I will make sure to meet him again and properly thank him in the private."
Now, had this been a normal girl, I would have been fine but-

I could already tell that was going to be a rough trouble for me to dodge. I mean, I get it- she is some sort of girl-genius... but why the fuck did she have to obsess with me? Why me?! Sure, the 'Failure' is the ensuing Quest without being 'ready for it' and-
Actually, that doesn't make any sense! Why would any Quest require a level-cap? Yeah, there are games that make the LVL important, but I could literally boost my stats without LVLing up so... why is that important? Argh, here I am, trying to make sense of the Game as it continues to send me mixed signals.
Nonetheless, today proved to be a slow day actually. I managed to get a few Skills upgraded, but I couldn't get much of that as today we had little time to read and a lot to do tests. Good news is that my grade are super-good and I didn't have to be bothered about school for the time being.

Mimi, Momo and Lilim had planned to do a sleepover at Mimi's home for today, and it was a 'girls-only night'. I didn't even ask to be invited, but that was a curious degree of 'restriction'. It just didn't help my growing paranoia that these three will eventually cause me a bit of grief on the 'kid crush' front.
I had enough on my plate as a mere 10 years-old and I didn't need to get caught on some pre-puberty relationship drama just yet. Still, I barely paid attention to the fact that Ami was visiting to tutor Usagi. I would still pass by to help after I was done with the homework, but today was Gym Day so I had to stop earlier than usual.
That didn't stop the girls from putting me through a most ungrateful job. Which was to see which swimsuit was the best among those they brought to my sister's can see why this may cause a bit of a situation I am hardly prepared for.
Usagi had gone for a blue two-piece bikini with a white floral motiff, while Ami had gotten herself a blue one-piece swimsuit that had been customized as she used to do competitive swimming before she left elementary school. She never got too deep in the hobby.
What I could see was that Ami's piece, albeit born to be a rather conservative outfit, was doing a 'fine job' showing off her budding curves. I could literally see the outline of her breasts and ass a bit more due to how she was slowly outgrowing the piece and the 'barely visible' cameltoe really hurled me in a curious spot.
The fact Ami agreed to this was already suspicious, the fact that Usagi added that the two had agreed that I was the 'best guy' to trust into this sort of opinion was equally perplexing. And I didn't need to be a genius to know that Ami was up to something.

Not with this sort of notification popping up from time to time while I am around her. Still, how to react to this? I could reject her outright and call her out, but that would be quite the bad move due to its ramifications. The last thing I needed was to cause a major plot deviation which could lead Ami to become a villain, maybe a Yandere one and then give me, Shingo, trouble while I was still in my civilian form.

Another option was to just joke about it but, even then, it would just spur an escalation. It wouldn't be as bad as option 1, but it would be enough of a troublesome decision to cause me trouble nonetheless. And I really can live with less issues on that front.

Third option, don't call her out on it and just play this game like Innocent and Cute boy Shingo. It would still result in escalation. Ignoring such a problem doesn't push it away, it make it even worse.

So, option four was the most delectable of them all. Not by much and not if I wasn't good enough to weave through with my words. I had to pick some cautious terms to prevent misunderstanding so...

I shook my head. "Not at all. That's not to say yours is not pretty. It's just that Ami's swimsuit is actually an interesting choice," I explained happily. "While usually one-pieces are seen as this sort of conservative swimsuits is partly missing here since Ami's current piece is not truly form-fitting. Since it is an old piece and she is growing up, it's fair to say that it can look a bit tighter on her. So, by using the traditional use of the one-piece and mixing it with her growing beauty makes it for an excellent combo."

Usagi appeared... surprised by that assessment.
I could see Luna giving me a surprise look from the bed as it was clear the cat had been used as a judge before me, but that she hadn't seen that point herself. Ami's face was burning red. I literally called her out, complimented her about it without highlighting anything lewd and focused on keeping it wholesome despite what her mind may try to produce out of this event.

"You are right," My big sister admitted, narrowing her eyes on Ami. "It is an idea I should try too but... Ami-chan, are you sure that you are fine with that small piece? Isn't it too tight?"
The bluette shook her head fast, still blushing hard. "I-It's alright. I mean, it's not as 'freer', but it doesn't create me any discomfort."
My saving grace here, my dear friends, is the fact that this world has yet to learn the might of 'thiccness' and how an expert has to gauge it. For a kid as innocent as I (when I wanted to), this sort of comment was a bit forward but not in a negative way. And the reactions I got would confirm that. Poor Ami got praised, but it should be just enough to keep her from getting too depraved through it.
I could tell this was bound to lead to some escalation anyway, but I can work with it if it wasn't too intense and too fast-paced. I just needed time to think on how to deal with it, and then formulate a plan to 'hit Ami back first'. I was going to tease her back alright, but it had to be the kind of teasing that I knew would not go against my own notions on the topic.
After that embarrassing 'judgment', I was given the chance to leave the room, and then the house once I was through with picking all the gym items I needed. It was time for me to hit some weights and exercises because boy was I planning to get strong enough to handle the upcoming events that were 1) Meeting Shiranui again in a more mundane environment and 2) Deal with the next Sailor Moon-related Quest. This one shouldn't be a 'big one' in terms of a new scout joining but... I wanted to make sure everything was going to be fine and since it was going to be closer to meeting with Shiranui, I knew I had to be super-ready to face the big villain there.
Plus, I was quite unaware of a little 'chance-meeting' I ended up dealing with as I was on patrol later today.
Different POV
It was already getting dark.
It would have been nice if sensei had told me it was that late.
Holding back a huff due to her personal chore of keeping a regal air to her appearance, Kaiou Michiru focused on making it back home without finding any elements of disturbance.
As much as she was tempted to just give a call to her close friend and for a free ride, Michiru wasn't up to just... Well, be a bother. Elegance was not just one thing of appearance, but also of nobility of soul. She had to be judicious with the favors she asked. The last thing she needed was for Haruka to even consider her to be a vain girl.
She has high standard for sure, but she would never coax a friend to work as her free private driver. Tempting as it may sound, Michiru still had to uphold her own principles on the matter and thus decided to just go for a lovely stroll back home through some... Well, frightenly dark streets and hope that nothing bad happened.
It wasn't the first time she did this, but the overall chance of getting cornered by bad people was not as low as she would have liked. And today proved to be a... 'unlucky' day. Right as she turned the corner, she felt her legs instinctively froze as her gaze found three large men approaching her from the direction she was walking to.
They hadn't noticed her at first, but then they paused and... smiled as they shared an amused look. They paced fast towards her and running was not an option since she was wearing heels.
Why did I even put these on when it wasn't an important violin session?!
"W-Wait, I can pay you. Pl-Please don't-"
One of them, the one in the front, mustered a switchblade and her nervous talk was gone right as her throat suddenly grew tight.
"Oh, but I think you can give us more than just some money, girlie~."
One moment, Michiru was panicking and seeing her life flash before her eyes at the notion of being defiled by those thugs. She would 'deserve' it for having skipped on calling Haruka but- but it wasn't fair! Maybe she could fight them off or something- Yes, and then fly away back home before enjoying some sweet and loving cuddles with that dumb blonde of a girlfriend I have.
The next moment, Michiru's eyes widened a bit more as she saw the thugs getting double-kicked onto the near wall, with their skulls slamming against the solid surface and forcing them unconscious on the spot. The owner of the legs was a tiny masked entity that stood over them, his cape looking quite dazzling as he stood over the criminals.
"That makes... five criminal activities brought down," He mumbled with a bit of an accent before retrieving some rope and tying up the trio, dragging them to the nearby lamp-post and lifting them up to hover over the ground. Finally, as a 'finishing touch', he placed down a tiny sticker on the lap with his face on it.
He turned to look at her, and Michiru blinked. That was actually the Moon Knight- she thought Haruka was teasing her to say that a Tokyo had gotten its own 'Super-Hero' but the caped figure matched with the description provided by the newspapers and TV.
"Are you alright, miss?"
Michiru blinked, taking a step forward. "I am fi-"
Crick!
She almost tripped as her right heel collapsed under her weight and almost sent her flipping. She stopped herself just before actually faceplanting on the ground, and huffed at the faulty shoe.
"S-Sorry," Michiru mustered nervously, turning to look up to see how tiny the hero was. Tiny in a cute way, that is. "I don't... I don't think I can move like this."
She could have called Haruka. She could already hear her friend lambasting her for being so reckless and dumb on not calling her earlier but-
"I can give you a ride."
The offer confused and intrigued Michiru. "H-How so?"
The next few minutes redefined Michiru's slight reluctance to see Haruka's point on feeling the wind on her hair. Considering one of her last goals as a child was to be a pilot, to feel the wind grazing her skin softly and giving her a feeling of bliss, the greenette had all reasons to be screaming in delight while she was holding on the short hero while he swung around the capital.
One of the oddest experience ever, but one she was definitely going to remember forever due to how amazing it all felty. Scary? That's fine, but she was absolutely ecstatic of doing this. It was brief, however, as the distance left to reach her flat was not too much... but it was still awesome!
One moment she was terrified, then she was giggling like a moron and now she was sitting on her bed, her broken shoe put in the corner for betraying her like it did, and then she had her phone reaching out for Haruka. She ended up telling what happened and-
"You were almost WHAT?! Why didn't you call me? I could have given you a ride and... what did you mean he gave you a swing back to your flat?"
...Oh right, Haruka was reasonably worrying for her. She forgot that this was still going to get chided on walking the streets alone during a dark evening. The promised lecture was going to be annoying to endure, but she was not going to let it stain the memory of tonight.
This little knight that helped her, so cute! I bet Haruka would like him too~.

I had been planning for Michiru to appear 'earlier' than she was meant to. Next time... Shingo gets a weapon!
