~Remnant~
Jaune was meditating. He looked back on his fight with the Beast of the Rift Egg. There were many things he did that if Ruby and the others were to see, they would question his choices.
For example, they may question him about using the [Reflection Fortress] on the attack of the beast rather than [Absolute Cancel]. The answer to that is simple. He couldn't. Whatever the beast's attack was, [Absolute Cancel] was useless against it. This is one of the reasons why he was meditating. He has come up with a few reasons why it didn't work. But the one that would make the most sense is that the attack was not similar to a spell but was merely pure energy fired into a beam. Without a formula, there was no way he would be able to formulize it and cancel it.
The next question they might ask is why he sent and fought the beast in space. Again, the answer is simple once you know how the beast works. You see, the attack of the beast was able to bypass Aura. Jaune did not want the others to be subjected to it as it could easily kill them. Also, fighting it on Remnant would have been catastrophic as each of their attacks would decimate the place they were on. Thus, the only logical plan was to fight it where it would do no harm and damage that would inconvenience the others.
These were mere questions Jaune believed the others would ask. Of course, there would be others, but that is for another time.
Before Jaune started meditating, he tested out the abilities he got as a drop from the beast. The one he was most interested in was the [God Force]. It was powerful as it could increase his base strength to 10,000x. However, there was something Jaune was puzzled about it. Why was the limitation the user? Upon testing it, he realized why. The 10,000x increase only used 1 unit of divine energy. Add more, and you will increase the power you will gain from it. Thus making the user the limit as it would be up to their bodies how much power they can hold.
Next, he tested out his [Gate of Babylon]. This was a great skill, in his opinion. He could make his stored staves appear and fire magic at his enemy. What do you think of having hundreds of staves fire different magic spells? Awesome, right? Well, Jaune can now do that with ease! He even used his [Creation (Max)] to create hundreds of thousands of staves. But that is not all; he did so for swords, axes, spears, and halberds. Name a type of bladed weapon, and he has them in thousands. Of course, this cost him all the materials he had on hand. But he did not regret it as he could use it as a trump card since each weapon was special due to being created through [Creation (Max)].
From reading the description of the [Gate of Babylon], it is said that its grade was something from E-EX rank. However, Jaune's version would be ranked differently due to its content containing nothing less than a B-rank weapon to A+++, all thanks to his [Creation (Max)] and some of the weapons he got from the Dreamscape.
The last thing Jaune did before he meditated was to test the [Chains of Heaven]. This chain was remarkable. When he has even the smallest amount of Divine Energy, it can restrain him. However, since Jaune had the [Loop of Binding], he could seal it away, and there is nothing the chains could use as a power source to strengthen itself. Thus, making it useless against him. He plans to use the chains to help him in the Astral Colosseum. This would be a big help to gain more Divine Energy. Plus, that place is making his instinct go wild…in a good way, as if it told him that there is something good at the end of beating all the Gods.
It was not until later in the evening that Jaune was done with his meditation. He thought. 'Due to the [Gate of Babylon], I no longer have any more materials. Plus, I think I can store more in the gate, which I can use in an emergency. Times when I need to kill massive numbers without causing too much damage…Maybe I should head back to Orario and farm more materials.'
However, this plan was not meant to be for a flash of light, which caused something unforeseen.
~Somewhere~
Jaune was on a train. He was heading to a school called Hogwarts. It has been a month since he arrived mysteriously, but he took things in stride. When he found out that his body had regressed to eleven years old, he tried to make his body turn back, but no matter what he did, nothing worked. He tried for some time, but he accepted that he had to age naturally, which caused him to choose not to return to Remnant until he was seventeen again. He felt uncomfortable with the idea that his girlfriend would be dating an eleven-year-old.
Shaking his head at the memory, Jaune continued reading the book in his hand with the [Gale-Force Reading Glasses]. If one looked closely at the book he was reading, one would have realized he was reading materials for seventh-year students of Hogwarts. During his excursion with McGonagall, who introduced him to the magical world, he bought many books, even restricted ones. Still, he had to give the person some monetary persuasion to allow him to get a hold of some of the more restricted books not meant to be in the hands of a youngling like he currently was. With these books, he learned many things, such as the existence of the forbidden curse.
As he was reading, Jaune felt something touch his feet. It was a frog. He did not know how it got here since the door was closed. He picked up the little guy and inspected him. The little guy must have been looking for a damp place since its skin was drying up. With a simple conjuration spell, Jaune made a temporary habitat for the little guy and enchanted it to give the frog the best condition, making it croak in delight.
As Jaune was about to continue his perusal of the book in hand, he heard the door in his compartment open, and a young man with a thunderbolt for a scar came in. When Jaune saw him, he felt a dark aura coming from it. He then thought, 'Thunderbolt as a scar? Where have I heard of that? Right! It was from one of the stories I saw in the store, but I left it since it was boring.'
Looking at the little kid, who avoided eye contact, Jaune figured the little man probably did not know what was wrong with him. Jaune then heard the kid say, "Uhm…Is there a free seat in this compartment? I've been to others, but they're already full."
Jaune gestured to the kid in the seat before him, saying, "Feel free to take a seat. Oh, and my name is Jaune Arc."
Harry took a seat and replied, "Harry, Harry Potter."
Jaune shook hands with Harry and continued to read his book, which caught Harry's attention. Harry asked, "What is that? And how are you reading if the pages move incredibly fast?"
Jaune took off the [Gale-Force Reading Glasses] and answered his question, "It's magic glasses that allow me to read at 128 times my normal speed. Although, comprehension of what I'm reading is still up to me."
Harry asked, "Can you understand anything reading at such a fast speed?"
Jaune nodded at him and continued reading his book. He then heard Harry's stomach rumble. He asked, "Are you hungry? Do you have anything to eat?"
Harry looked embarrassed since his relatives had not packed him anything to eat for his journey. He then saw Jaune hand him some food. Where Jaune got it, he did not know, but Harry said, "T-Thanks. I was planning to buy some from the cart."
Jaune said, "I don't think the food in the cart is healthy. I've seen what they're selling, and most are sweets with some juice and whatnot."
As Harry was eating the food he gave, Jaune asked, "By the way, do you want me to repair your glasses? It quite broken up."
Harry removed his glasses and inspected them, "I-If you don't mind."
Jaune took out his wand and repaired the glasses in mere moments, which got saying, "T-Thank you! I've been having issues with the broken frame poking me in the nose."
Jaune nodded and said, "No problem."
While waiting for the train to depart, Jaune felt he was starting to get irritated for no reason, which seemed to be targeted at Harry. He asked, "Harry, do you know what that scar of yours is?"
Harry touched his scar, saying, "I don't know. I've had it since I can remember. Why do you ask?"
Jaune answered, "Because it is giving off a dark aura, which is causing me to be irritated at you. And believe me, I rarely get irritated or angry. Do you mind if I cleanse it of its dark nature?"
Harry was shocked that the scar, the only thing he liked about himself, was causing negative emotions from other people. He said, "If you think you could do something to help, please."
Jaune nodded and whipped out his wand. He took the liberty to lock the doors in the compartment to make sure that no one would enter in the meantime. He then used silencing spells to make sure that no sounds would escape. Finally, he pointed the wand at Harry's forehead scar and used a spell he rarely used. To be exact, it was a spell he only used once.
Jaune concentrated on the scar and used [Purification]. This caused an immediate reaction from the scar, which burst into a dark cloud with a face that showed immense agony before disappearing.
Harry rubbed the scar and said, "What was that? Thank you. My head feels much better."
Jaune said, "It's no problem. It was causing issues for me as well. As for what that was, I think it was a soul fragment of some kind. Whatever it was, it latched on to you and has been feeding off you to sustain itself."
Harry gave his thanks repeatedly before asking, "I've been wondering, are you a returning student at Hogwarts? I could have sworn you are about the same age."
Jaune laughed, "I'm a first year."
Harry was gobsmacked, "If this is your first year, then you are incredible for being able to use the magic that you've shown me. Not that I know much about the magical world since I was raised by relatives who hate magic."
Jaune noticed that Harry was more open when he removed the entity within his scar. It was as if the guy felt free, but not completely. With the cleansing done, Jaune unlocked the door and removed the enchantments he placed around them, just in time for a guy to come in. By now, the train had departed, and they were on their way to Hogwarts.
The person who came to the compartment said, "Excuse me. Have you happened to find a toad? His name is Trevor."
Jaune pointed at the habitat beside him, "I'm guessing this little guy is yours?"
The boy shouted, "Trevor! I've been looking for you! Nan would have killed me if she found out I've lost you."
The boy then looked up and felt embarrassed. He said, "I'm Neville Longbottom. Thank you for taking care of Trevor when you found him. I don't know why he keeps running away."
Jaune said, "I suggest you take the habitat with you. Trevor seemed to be running away since he needed a water source to keep his skin from drying. He probably has been looking for a damp place all over the train."
Neville nodded at Jaune and tried to pick up the habitat. He said, "It's a bit heavy, innit."
Jaune then whipped out his wand and cast a spell. He said, "Why don't you try picking it up again?"
Neville gave it a good pull and felt it was now light as a feather. He said, "Whoa! How did you do that?"
Jaune replied, "It's a simple feather light spell. It makes things as light as a feather. It's a good spell to put on your trunks, so it would be easier to lag around. Not that I need it."
Neville gave Jaune a final thanks before heading back to his compartment. Funny enough, in the opposite direction Neville headed, a boy entered their compartment, saying, "Excuse me, do you mind?"
Jaune knew what the boy wanted. He gestured to the seats, and the boy sat down, introducing himself, "I'm Ron, Ron Weasely."
Jaune replied, "Jaune Arc, it is a pleasure to meet you."
Harry then said, "Harry Potter."
Ron became excited; he said, "Are you really Harry Potter? And is it true that you have a scar?"
Harry smiled at Ron, showing his lightning bold scar, which is much more faded now. He said, "I used to like it, but not anymore. Didn't think it was something dark."
Ron said, "Was it something that You-Know-Who left?"
Harry said genuinely, "I don't know. I don't remember much about it. I've met people who tell me about that night, but I can't remember anything. Hagrid said it was probably because I was too young to remember."
Ron asked, "Hagrid?"
Harry clarified, "He works at Hogwarts. He helped me with shopping for school supplies. He said Dumbledore sent him."
Ron said, "Blimey! You have Albus Dumbledore's attention! I've never heard of anyone he has taken notice of. Does that mean all those stories about you are real?"
Harry was confused, "Stories?"
Before Ron could say anything, Jaune took a book and handed it to Harry, "This is one of the stories he's probably talking about. I don't know why it is famous, but the book is boring. Whoever wrote it was not well-versed in magic theory and regarding magical creatures. The claims are quite outlandish."
Jaune shook his head. 'Outlandish? Since when did I start sounding like Weiss? Damn, has she been starting to rub off on me?'
Harry took the book from Jaune and started skimming through the book. He looked towards Ron and said, "None of what is written in this book is remotely real! And until Hagrid told me, I knew nothing about being a wizard, my parents, or Voldemort!"
Ron gasped in shock. He said, "You said You-Know-Who's name!"
Jaune interjected, saying, "You know, fearing his name is exactly what he wants. It shows that he has power over you with the mere mention of his name. Besides, I've read about him, he isn't that great. Sure, he can fire the Killing Curse, but his bloody Death Eaters did most of the dirty work. Also, I don't get the appeal of this Pure-blood supremacy. Muggles are abundant in numbers. They would lose if the magical world declared war against the Muggles. Pure-bloods don't seem to understand how scary the ingenuity of Muggles is."
Although not as advanced as Remnant, Jaune heard about a Nuke, a bomb like no other. Even Remnant hasn't made a bomb of that destructiveness. It would be a bloody help against the Grimm. However, doing a bit of research on the matter has shown him how devastating the bomb truly is. The land would not be habitable for some time due to the radiation it would emit. It's not a good thing since Remnant barely has any habitable land as it is.
Just like Harry, Ron's stomach rumbled. He was hungry but was refusing to eat the food he had. It was a mushed-up sandwich. Jaune offered him food, and he took it without hesitation. Then they were greeted by a bushy-haired girl still looking for Trevor, whom Neville might have forgotten he had asked her for help or she had offered.
The girl said, "Have you happened to see a toad?"
Jaune replied, "If you are looking for Trevor, Neville's toad, he got him back. He might have forgotten to inform you. He was quite frantic when he lost the toad."
The girl introduced herself, "My name is Hermione Granger. Do you mind if I stay here? When I helped Neville, I saw my seat in my compartment was taken by someone else."
Jaune gestured for her to take a seat while they each introduced themselves. Hermione then asked, "I haven't seen many that have are muggle-born. I've met a few Pure-blood, or so they say, and they were quite rude, especially the one named Draco Malfoy."
Ron said, "Malfoy is a bloody git. Don't mind him. He is just seeking attention that his father refuses to give him."
Hermione nodded at Ron. She then noticed something different about the compartment. It was much bigger, and the temperature was much more comfortable than the others. And speaking of comfortable, she noticed that the compartment was not shaking as much as the others when a bump or turn would do so. She asked, "Is this compartment special? It feels different from the others."
Ron asked, "Why would it be special?"
Hermione replied, "I don't know. Could it be because it contains the Boy-Who-Lived?"
Harry interjected, "I just picked a random compartment. If anything, I think it was Jaune's doing. He did use advanced magic. And he has been reading that seventh-year book since I first came in."
Hermione looked at Jaune, saying, "Seventh? How did you get your hands on that? I was barred from getting it when I went to Flourish and Blotts to buy my school supplies. The person told me it was too dangerous to be at the hands of firsties. Also, how are you making the pages flip so quickly? And how are you reading it at all?"
Jaune told her how he gave the owner a bit of monetary persuasion, and she agreed to sell the book to him. As for his reading, he explained what the glasses were, and when she asked if she could buy one for herself, he replied that it could not be purchased anywhere in Diagon Alley.
As time passed, Jaune noticed they were arriving soon and told the others, "I think it's time for us to get changed. Hermione, where will you be getting changed?"
Hermione looked at Jaune sadly, "I don't know. There is no other room in the compartment I was in before. It would have been perfect as everyone was female."
Jaune nodded and waved his wand. The compartment they were in expanded. New changing rooms were made so they could have privacy as they changed. He said, "That should do it. You should go and take your belongings in your previous compartment and start changing here."
Hermione was shocked at the level of magic Jaune could do, as they were all firsties. Nonetheless, she smiled at him gratefully, and she went to take her belongings.
Ron gasped, "Bloody hell, mate! Are you sure this is your first time at Hogwarts? Not even my brothers Percy, Fred, and George can do what you just did. That's N.E.W.T level stuff!"
Jaune smiled at him and touched his ring, which caused him to instantaneously change what he was wearing to his Hogwarts uniform, bar the pointy hat. It was ugly.
Ron gasped again, saying, "Are you sure you're a Muggle-born? You're not just hiding your identity, right?"
Jaune laughed, "I promise you, Ron, I'm not from a Pure-blood family. Now, get to changing to your uniform."
Ron said cheekily, "Ah! But you're not denying about hiding your identity!"
When Hermione returned with her things, she entered the room inside the compartment and started changing. As she did, she said, "By the way, I saw three boys try to enter the compartment, but they couldn't open it. One of them happens to be Draco Malfoy."
Jaune answered, "That's because I bewitched the door. It will deny people I will find annoying entry."
Hermione nodded in satisfaction. Not long later, the train stopped, and they exited the transportation, where a black-haired giant was waiting for them. He introduced himself as Hagrid.
Hagrid shouted, "Right, then! First years! This way, please! Come on, now, don't be shy! Come on now, hurry up!"
Later, many boats are plugging across a vast lake, where a massive Hogwarts Castle can be seen up ahead. Every first year was in awe.
They continue further toward the castle. Later on, the first-year students walk into the castle and up the staircase. We see on a higher level that Professor McGonagall is waiting. She taps her fingers on a stone railing and then goes to the top of the stairs to greet the newcomers, but before she speaks, she notices Jaune, one of the Muggle-borns that she introduced to Diagon Alley. Her face shows that she has a bone to pick with him.
Minerva took her eyes away from Jaune, who was smirking at her. She said, "Welcome to Hogwarts. Now, in a few moments, you will pass through these doors and join your classmates. The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your Houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your House will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your House, sleep in your House dormitory, and spend free time in your House common room."
She then added, "The four Houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each House has its own noble history and has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your House points, while any rule-breaking will lose House points. At the end of the year, the House with the most points is awarded the House Cup, a great honor. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever House becomes yours."
Minerva was going to say something more, but Jaune spoke before she could, saying, "Looking good, Professor. Did you do something new with your hair?"
Minerva glared at Jaune, saying, "You know full well what you did, Mr Arc. I still have to speak to you regarding the changes to my person."
No one can see the truth, but Jaune's eyes can see it. Minerva had a spell on her to hide her truth form. He then heard her say, "The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes in front of the rest of the school. I suggest you all smarten yourselves up as much as you can while you are waiting," before she left to go into the Great Hall.
While Jaune was thinking about how to mess with McGonagall a bit more, he heard someone say, "It's true then, what they're saying on the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts. This is Crabbe and Goyle. And I'm Malfoy. Draco Malfoy."
Jaune heard Ron snickering at the name mentioned, prompting the owner to say, "Think my name's funny, do you? I've no need to ask yours. Red hair, freckles, and a hand-me-down robe? You must be a Weasley. Potter, you'll soon find that some wizarding families are better than others. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there."
Draco extended a hand, but Harry refused to take it as the boy insulted a friend he just made. He said, "I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself, thanks."
Jaune was mature, for the most part. He liked the friends he made on the train. They were funny, intelligent, and humble. However, as mature as he was, he was also eleven, which affected his judgment. Thus, he said to Ron, "Hey, wanna see something funny?"
Ron looked at Jaune and saw that he was smirking at Draco. He said, "Are you planning to mess with Malfoy?"
Jaune said with a smile, "Yup."
He took out his wand and turned Malfoy into a ferret. Everyone started laughing. However, he then heard Minerva say, "Mr. Arc! Did I see you turn one of the students into a ferret!"
Jaune replied innocently, "Me? Turn someone into a ferret? How can it be? I'm but a Muggle-born, while said ferret was a Pure-blood. Surely, he could have prevented such an attack from someone such as myself? Additionally, I've only started to learn magic since I met you. Surely, I wouldn't have been able to master such a level of Transfiguration?"
Minerva nodded at Jaune. But she then realized, 'How did he know that turning someone into a ferret is transfiguration? Most Muggles would believe it to be shapeshifting or something of that thought.'
She looked at Jaune, and he knew he was in trouble. Why? Because she is looking at him with the same look as Glynda when he is in trouble. He said, "Crap!"
Minerva smiled, saying, "Crap indeed, Mr Arc. I don't know what house you would be sorted in, but be hopeful that it isn't Gryffindor. Now, everyone. We're ready for you. Follow me."
Ron said as they walked to the Great Hall, "That was bloody brilliant! How did you do that?"
Jaune replied, "It would have been more awesome if she did not catch me in the act. As for what I did, it was Transfiguration. However, the level I just did is far more advanced than what a first-year would typically learn."
Ron's eye twitched, "Are you sure you're not from a wizarding family?"
Jaune rolled his eyes at the boy.
As for Minerva, she was thinking, 'He was able to use such a high level of spell. How is that possible? And that avocado that he fed me…Mysterious. Very Mysterious.'
She leads everyone through two large doors that go to the Great Hall, where there are four long tables with thousands of students and floating candles. The roof appears to be the sky.
Jaune heard Hermione talking to someone, saying, "It's not real, the ceiling. It's just bewitched to look like the night sky. I read about it in Hogwarts: A History."
Once everyone was gathered in the front of the Great Hall, McGonagall counted all the students to ensure they were all there, but she noticed one missing. She said, "Hmm, we seem to be missing one student."
One of the students raised their hand and said, "Uhm…This is one of the students."
She had a ferret in her hand. This made McGonagall remember what Jaune did, saying, "Right, of course."
Minerva transfigured Malfoy back to human, which caused a giggle from the first year and the older years. Everyone who was not present when the boy was turned into a ferret was curious about who would have been able to pull off such a thing in their first year.
Minerva said. "When I call your name, you will put on the hat and sit on the stool to be sorted. Abbott, Hannah!"
A pink-faced girl with blonde pigtails stumbled out of line, put on the hat, which fell right down over her eyes, and sat down. A moment's pause, "HUFFLEPUFF!" shouted the hat.
The table on the right cheered and clapped as Hannah went to sit down at the Hufflepuff table. Jaune saw the ghost of the Fat Friar waving merrily at her.
The only thing that Jaune took note of was Harry, Hermione, and Ron, who were all sorted to Gryffindor. When it was his turn, he saw McGonagall looking at him with a smirk. She called, "Arc, Jaune!"
Jaune sighed and headed to the stool everyone sat at to get sorted. When the hat was placed on his head, he heard a voice saying, "Curious…You have a memory of being seventeen, yet you are eleven. Hmm…You surely are an enigma. I can place you in Gryffindor. You surely are quite brave. After all, you went to a place to kill monsters without training. Or maybe Hufflepuff. You have amazing loyalty to the people you care about. Difficult, very difficult. You could be placed in Ravenclaw for the intelligence you have. However, one thing is certain: Slytherin is not your style as you are straightforward and not at all cunning nor ambitious."
Jaune said, 'I can be cunning. Just when it comes to messing with my siblings.'
The hat continued to judge, then said, "Better be…Gryffindor!"
Jaune replied, "Well, shit!"
He looked at McGonagall, who gave him a smirk.
