It was a lovely night to spy on a vigilante. Or at least that's how Minako described it to Artemis as the duo followed closely after the peculiar individual that had been acting as Tokyo's own masked hero.
In a sense, the feline was amused by the way Minako was checking on the young fighter, seeing a degree of 'second-hand' concern as the blonde studied and seemed to analyze all sorts of actions taken by the one that went by the name of 'Moon Knight'.
Then again, Artemis knew that Minako was not a rookie when it came to crime-fighting. Her experience gave her an edge compared to the Scouts that had manifested as of recently, but the young woman was outright mesmerized by seeing something that reminded her of her past self. When she started, when she stumbled, and then got back up to fight once more.
This was the same with Moon Knight. He wasn't exactly as clumsy as Minako, but he was younger and less experienced than she was at this point. But as Artemis thought his 'apprentice' would keep tracking the vigilante down to then address him personally, he was surprised when Minako drew a sigh and decided to stop the tailing effort.
"Hm?"
"I think I am done for now," The blonde mumbled, jumping off the edge of the rooftop.
This action prompted Artemis to jump on her back to not be left on top of the tall building they were standing at. Soon they were on the ground-level, and Minako dropped out of her Sailor outfit. She was soon back to a black and white tracksuit with white shoes and her jacket open to reveal a white buttoned shirt under it.
It wasn't exactly a proper outfit for a normal Japanese girl, but nowadays Minako felt more like an English gal from the years spent in London. She was conscious of this, but rather uncaring of the voices she stirred with her smooth pace and aimless look as her plans were held away from anyone but herself and Artemis.
The cat had shifted in her arms as he carried him away from the spotlight of the illuminated streets and into a more conpicuous alley where to engage in a conversation. That was soon the case, and the white-furred feline was once more on the case.
"What do you think of him?"
"Average. He is clearly improving on his own flaws, but it's so odd to see how understanding he is of his own flaws," The blonde mumbled, her eyes flickering momentarily as she thought back of their recent scouting. "I would say he could match up with me until I use my special attacks. That's if he doesn't have some tricks he doesn't use on the common criminal."
"Some newspapers mentioned he had fought a powerful opponent recently," Artemis added up and Minako nodded. "Do you believe he is trustworthy?"
"Aren't you the one that found him without the mask?" Minako shot back, sounding still annoyed as Artemis had denied her any major info about the vigilante's identity.
Not exactly to trick her or something, but rather because something about his energy felt awfully familiar- and if that was the case, then he would be quite reluctant to see Minako fend off against him on an even field.
"I am."
"So?"
"I want your opinion first, and then I will tell you why I don't wish to give you much info just yet."
Rolling her eyes and yet appearing a bit surprised by this reluctance to admit the truth, Minako offered her honest opinion on the matter.
"I would prefer to speak with him first. But he doesn't look as if he is doing this for money. He is dedicated with each deed, cleans after himself and seems a bit doubtful before leaving as he double-checks his work. I think he got caught in a mess about that earlier in this career."
"So, he is trustworthy-"
"Yes, what about you saying no?"
Artemis huffed. "It's a big mess. But I will tell you because you are conscious enough of your responsibilities," The cat remarked, intriguing Minako some more. "I believe Moon Knight is somewhat related to Queen Serenity."
"I thought the Queen just had a daughter."
"Correct. Which is why by 'related' I don't mean by blood. Something about his life essence is akin to hers. Just not as intensely connected to hers like Princess Serenity."
The blonde nodded, then looked to the side out of thoughtfulness. "I did see something odd about him. Like, familiar but also very different than that. I thought it was just his style and the fact he is a vigilante but..."
"But?" Artemis asked, sounding a bit impatient but also extremely curious of this unexpected element.
"It's complicated," Minako sheepishly admitted, causing the feline to groan at the lack of specific details to work on. "Still, it feels like I have meet him before or something like that."
Artemis nodded at this, keeping quiet for a while as the two kept on walking through Tokyo's streets. The place was bigger than London in some areas, but the overall feeling was what really seemed to leave Minako in a gloomy mood.
It felt darker and bigger. As if there was more secrets than London may be holding.
Yet, the two arrived at destination, Minako's flat, without any trouble. The girl was soon going through the efforts of preparing a meal for dinnertime, leaving Artemis to his own quiet efforts to add a report to his computer. This tailing had given them some info on Moon Knight, but nothing truly added more to what Artemis already knew of the boy.
He was young, and he was connected to the one element that he thought Minako was: Princess Serenity. As his memory had returned in recent times, Artemis could say that his earliest expectation of the blonde Sailor Scout being the true reincarnation of the late Princess was actually erroneous.
The girl that was Tsukino Usagi, Sailor Moon, was the one that bore the closest resemblance with Princess Serenity. Minako was the closest too, but he remembered a Sailor Venus- a Sailor Moon never existed for Queen Serenity was the Moon manifested.
Thus, the perplexity truly ascended newer levels of confusion. If Princess Serenity was indeed the newest representation of the Moon, then what was Moon Knight and why did he carry through a strangely intense connection with Queen Serenity if she was no longer alive and without reincarnations?
The more Artemis tried to make sense to this, the more he felt the situation was far bigger than just this. He could tell something was missing from the equation. Something important that would allow this anomaly of a paradox to be possible.
Frustrating, but Artemis had enough experience to know the Galaxy was just confusing as it was. Queen Serenity told him this much, and he was always confused by many things about someone that was as simple and yet sophisticate as she was...

Next time, Shingo meets Asagi and Sakura's father for a big fight and...
I have to add this bit because it's important to correct some misinformation (Both in FFN and QQ):
1) Harem is literally made by 5 girls right now (and it hasn't even been developed yet) so the 'bloating' accusation is plain dum-dum;
2) Shingo lost one time when Rei became Sailor Mars as he couldn't beat his opponent and then he got wrecked by Shiranui a few times. Just because I don't go into gritty and gruesome details about a broken, destroyed and mind-fucked MC that doesn't mean a defeat is not a defeat;
3) Once again, I got accused of 'bloating' the story with 'too many series'. I return the accusation back to the accusing side with a list of the current series in detail:
- Sailor Moon;
- Taimanin RPGX;
- Metal Gear (Mentioned but not began as it is expected to begin after SM Season II/III);
- Evangelion (A single Character introduced and none planned beyond this one);
- Inuyasha (A single character introduced and none planned beyond this one);
- Breaking Bad (Reference/Joke Quest);
- Marvel (Moon Knight Mask);
- And nothing else for now and for the next forty to fifty chapters. Yes, this is the full extent of the current story. If you have any complain about this small of a list, then I think you are not meant to read a Xover story to begin with. Same for those that expect fanfics to be full canon-compliant as this is literally an AU for Gamer/Xover reasons. If you don't like, no one is forcing you to read it.
Ciao!
