ATWN: Chapter 4

It was now about ten-thirty in the morning here in the little cartoon town of Peach Creek we soon set our site on a particular group of kids. It was the three Eds, Amelia, Lily, and Naomi; they were all currently walking down a sidewalk, heading to the candy store. After a successful morning of scamming, they had gained one dollar and fifty cents worth of quarters from the kids in the Cul-De-Sac. Double D and Lily were trailing behind their friends.

It was while they were walking down the sidewalk that Double D noticed Lily in a thinking state of mind, "A penny for your thoughts, Lily?"

"Hmm…?" muttered Lily as she was brought back to reality, "Oh… not really; I was just thinking about something…"

"Oh, I see…" Double D stated as he saw Lily drift back off into thought, 'I wonder what she's thinking about…?'

'Why do I keep thinking about different worlds right now…?' Lily thought as she sighed, 'I just don't understand…'

Suddenly, a thought came back into Lily's memory, 'Wait a minute… Back in school, right before we were brought here; our teacher was talking about the Andromeda galaxy, saying they recently discovered possible planets there…' Soon another surprising thought came to her, 'I wonder…'

"… Double D?"

"Yes?" Double D questioned as he turned back to Lily.

"What is the nearest galaxy to this one?" Lily asked.

Double D seemed a bit surprised and confused at the strange question, "Why, I would think the Milky Way would be the nearest galaxy."

This made Lily pale in the face, 'Oh my god…'

"Why would you ask that kind of question?" Double D then asked afterward. He then noticed her face; it was now paler than before, "… Lily?"

"… I-I need to tell you something; but not here, not now," Lily stated, almost in a freaked-out tone.

Double D made a worried face to Lily; it sounded like she was shaken up by something suddenly, "Alright…" he muttered as he then placed his right hand on her left shoulder, much to Lily's surprise, "You are free to tell me about anything that's bothering you, okay?"

Lily soon starts to regain color to her face; she can feel herself blushing slightly, "I-I understand…"

"Hey, slowpokes!" stated a couple of voices ahead of them as they turned their attention away from each other and looked at the others up ahead, "What the heck are you two doing back there?" Eddy asked.

"Oh, sorry Eddy," Double D replied as he took his hand off Lily's shoulder while the two of them soon caught up with the others, "We were just conversing with one another; that's all."

"Oh, okay," Eddy said as he turned back toward the direction of the candy store, "Let's just hurry up and get to the candy store, alright?"

"Yeah!" Ed cheered with excitement as Naomi seemed to chuckle at him.

Amelia, in the meantime, could tell that something was up with Lily; what were those two talking about back there? It was no later than fifteen minutes later that the three Eds, Amelia, Lily, and Naomi came to the location of the candy store.

"Phew, finally!" Amelia said in exhaustion, "My feet were getting tired from all that walking."

"Yeah, but you get used to it after a while," Eddy said to Amelia as the six of them soon entered the candy store. The three girls in the group awed a little as they looked around the candy store; there was every single kind of candy you could think of that was in this store.

"Wow…" they all muttered, "So much… candy," muttered Naomi even further.

The three girls soon realized that it was only the three of them together, "Hey, where are the Eds?" questioned Lily.

"Can you take a guess where?" Amelia stated with a giggle as she pointed to the jawbreaker section of the candy store; it was filled with jawbreakers that were almost bigger than your mouth. They also seemed a bit smaller in size; compared to what they kept seeing on the show. And, of course, the three Eds were all there, getting their favorite jawbreaker flavors.

"Hey, newbies," Eddy stated as he turned to the three girls, "Do you want something too? You all help us out today, you know."

"Uh…" they made a surprised face, even Double D was surprised; Ed was too busy looking for his favorite jawbreaker flavor to be surprised, "Y-Yeah!" Amelia managed to say afterward as the three of them soon walked over to the three Eds.

"Hmm…" muttered the three girls as they looked at the selection of jawbreakers. They soon decided what they wanted, "I'll take this flavor!" They all then grabbed a flavor. Amelia grabbed a Green apple-flavored jawbreaker, Lily grabbed a blueberry-flavored jawbreaker, and Naomi grabbed a grape-flavored jawbreaker.

Double D noticed which ones they grabbed, 'Hmm, interesting,' he thought to himself, 'They grabbed the same flavors that we usually get.'

"So, are we ready to pay for them or whatever?" Amelia asked as she turned to Eddy, who was the one who had the money for them.

"Uh… Oh yeah! We are," Eddy replied as he and the other five soon walked up to the counter, where the cashier was… 'Wait a sec; there's an adult!' thought the three girls in shock, 'You usually are unable to see them,' thought Lily further with a slight chuckle.

"That'll be a dollar and fifty cents please," stated the woman behind the counter.

Eddy soon handed all the money to the cashier, "There you go."

"Alright," stated the woman as she put the money away in the cash register and handed them back their jawbreakers, "Here you are."

"Thank you, ma'am," Double D replied politely as the six of them soon left the store.

As soon as the six of them got outside the store and started to walk back to the Cul-De-Sac, the three Eds got back out their jawbreakers and inserted the candy into their mouths.

Amelia, Lily, and Naomi soon followed their examples and put their jawbreakers into their mouths. As soon as they did, their eyes widened with shock.

The three Eds noticed their reaction to the candy, "Well? How is it?" Eddy asked.

"It's… the best candy I've ever had!" Amelia replied as she and the other two girls continued to suck on their jawbreakers, "It's no wonder you—"

That was when she stopped herself from saying anything else, placing her hands over her mouth at what she had already said. Lily and Naomi looked at Amelia with disbelief; she almost revealed to the Eds that they knew the three of them!

Of course, two of the three Eds caught on to what she was saying slightly, "What about us?" Double D questioned with confusion as Eddy arched an eyebrow, he was also thinking the same thing.

"I-It's nothing!" Lily simply replied with a bit of a nervous stutter; the Eds do not need to know that, not right now.

Amelia and Naomi replied with a nod of their heads, "Y-Yeah…" Amelia muttered.

"Hmm…" Eddy muttered slightly as he glanced towards Amelia with suspicion again, 'Seems like she's holding back something,' he thought, '… Now I gotta figure out what the heck it is.'
