ATWN: Chapter 6

It was now 8:30 am here in the little cartoon world of Peach Creek. We could see Ed and Eddy standing around the playground with Naomi and Amelia, waiting for Double D and Lily to arrive.

"Geez, never thought I'd see Sockhead run late like this," Eddy growled a little in irritation, impatiently tapping his foot, 'We've got so many ideas to think of today!'

Eddy glanced over to Ed and Naomi, who were both swinging on the swing set to pass the time. He then looked to Amelia, who was sitting a little further away from him on the bench. She was holding a photo of some kind in her hand, "Amelia?"

Amelia gasped in surprise as she quickly hid the photo she had back in her pocket, preventing Eddy from looking at it in detail, "What is it?" she asked.

"What were you looking at? A drawing?" Eddy asked, becoming a bit curious, "Seemed like you were looking at it for a while."

Amelia stared at him for a second before realizing what he meant, 'He thinks the photo I have is a drawing?' she thought in confusion, 'I guess it makes sense, everything here looks so different than things back home, so he wouldn't know.'

"Y-Yeah," Amelia replied as she took out the photo again to show him, "It's of me and my boyfriend, Aaron… Well, my ex-boyfriend."

Eddy looked down at the 'drawing', only to widen his eyes in shock. He could see a teen girl and a teen boy sitting close to each other, the drawing of them seemed more like what a person taking a selfie would do for a camera; but that's not what got Eddy's attention the most. Eddy noticed how 'stylized' the drawing was, Amelia looked completely different than how she looks right now, 'Wait… the girl in this drawing is the one I keep seeing every night! It WAS Amelia this whole freaking time?!'

Amelia started to notice how unusually quiet Eddy became when he saw the picture in her hand, "… Uh, Eddy?"

"Hey Double D! Hey Lily!" called out Ed's voice from the swing set she and Naomi were on. Everyone turned to see the two teens come up to them, they both had equipment of some kind on them, "What's with all the stuff you brought?" asked Naomi.

"Well, Lily and I decided to try and figure out something that could help you three out with your situation," Double D explained, "But we need to go back to the campgrounds where you three were ambushed before we can continue what we're doing."

"Oh?" Amelia questioned them, glancing at Lily, "Do you two need any help with that?"

Lily nodded her head, "Yes, we came over to ask all of you to help us with this if you don't mind."

"… Sure, do whatever you want today," Everyone turned to Eddy in surprise, he sounded very passive-aggressive when he said that. He puts his arms across his chest in defiance, "I'll stick around for now, but I'm not helping you with anything, got that?"

The others glanced at him with a bit of worry, "That's fair, but… Eddy, is there something wrong?" Double D asked.

"Nope!" Eddy quickly replied as he got up from where he sat on the bench, "So, where's that campground at again? In the woods?"

"Y-Yes, I believe so…"

"Then let's get this over with!" Eddy declared as he started to run off in the direction of the campgrounds he knew about.

"Wow, Eddy is being nice today!" Ed stated, not realizing that something else was going on with him.

Lily glanced at Amelia, who also had a concerned look on her face, "… Amelia, what happened?" she asked.

"Huh? What makes you think I would know?!" Amelia replied, "I'm not a mind reader!"

Amelia shook her head for a second at a thought she had, "Anyway, we should get going."

"Okay!" Naomi cheered as the five teens walked to their destination in the woods, the campgrounds.

Meanwhile, back with Eddy, he kept running to the campground, hoping there was some sort of clue about why he kept having nightmares every night. After he saw the girl in the 'drawing' that Amelia had, and then Amelia claimed that the girl was her, he thought there might be something there.

He soon arrived at the campground, there were no campers around at the clearing for the campsite. Eddy looked around to see if he could find anything unusual, but the only thing he could see was a white door that was lying flat on the ground nearby; someone must have thrown it away here for some reason. He growled a little in irritation as he started to walk away from the site, only for him to feel something underneath his right foot. Eddy looked down to see what he had stepped on; it was two silver keys of some kind.

"Huh?" Eddy muttered as he picked up the two keys he stepped on. They were both a very strange-looking pair of keys, like the kind you would see for a treasure chest in a video game or something. He could tell that they were not keys for any sort of normal door, they were a bit too big to fit into any modern locks that he could think of.

Eddy could hear his friends coming towards him from the woods nearby; he quickly pocketed the keys he found before they could see him holding them.

"There you are!" Double D called out to him as he and everyone else came over to him; Double D and Lily sat their equipment down on the ground as they arrived, "We were worried about you when you ran off on your own."

It was Lily who noticed the door lying on the ground nearby, "Strange, I don't remember seeing this door when we got here the other day… Did someone try to throw it away?"

"… Honestly, someone trying to get rid of it like this makes it kind of suspicious," Naomi stated.

The six teens walked over to stand next to the door. Ed opened it from where it was, only to see the grass on the other side of the door. There was nothing there, "That's so weird, there's grass growing in this door!" Ed said before closing the door back.

Amelia was going to make a witty comment to him before something else caught her eye, "Uh, Eddy? Your back pocket is glowing."

"… Huh?"

Eddy reached into his back pocket to take out the two keys he found a few minutes ago; one of them was glowing. Double D came over to him to look at the keys in his hand, "Eddy… Where did you find these?" He asked.

"I found them on the ground over there," Eddy said as he pointed to where he was before.

Amelia looked at the glowing key in his hands, "… Do you think these keys go to the door over there?"

"Well, there's only one way to find out!" Eddy replied with a big smirk as he walked over to the door on the ground.

He held out the key that was glowing to see if it could fit into the lock on the doorknob. As Eddy was leaning over to see if the key could fit, the edges of the door started to glow like the key; there was now a strange light coming through the cracks on the other side of the door.

"… Double D," Eddy started to say with a bit of nervousness as he turned to his friend, "There was grass and nothing else on the other side of this door, right? RIGHT?!"

Suddenly, the door opened on its own with a big whoosh, showing the bright light that was now coming from the other side! All six teens yelped in shock as they shielded their eyes from the sudden light that now surrounded them. It was after the light died down that the six teens were now gone from the area, the door closing back on its own…

Double D could see nothing at first before he could feel himself coming back to his senses. He groaned a little as he propped himself up from where he was now lying down.

"What happened…?!" Double D muttered as he opened his eyes, only to feel that something about him felt very off.

Double D looked down at his hands, only to see something that shocked him. He had five fingers now instead of four, alongside everything about him looked and felt very different; even the place he woke up at was drastically different than anything back in Peach Creek. It looked like he was in a house, lying on the floor next to a big TV, "Where am I…?"

He could hear a few groans behind him as he turned around to see something that stunned him. It was his two friends, Amelia, Naomi, and Lily. They were all waking up from what happened to them. But that's not what Double D noticed about them at first; he almost did not recognize his two friends at all, and the girls now looked like they did in the photo Lily showed him last night!

"Oh my…!" Double D gasped before coming over to them, "Is everyone alright?!"

Lily groaned a little before she opened her blue eyes, only to see Double D next to her and what he looked like now. Her heart almost skipped a beat in shock, "D-Double D?! You…!"

"Umm, I'm unsure how or why, but I guess you're back home now?" Double D asked before glancing down at his hand again, "A-And I assume that I look different now too…?"

"AHHH!"

Double D and Lily turned to their friends. Amelia and Naomi could see they were back in Amelia's house but also noticed the three Eds were now with them. Ed and Eddy also yelped in fright at the sudden change in scenery and appearance of everyone around them.

"WHAT IS GOING ON?!" All four of them screamed, with Ed sounding more excited than the others.

Double D and Lily made a sigh; how were they going to explain this mess to them?
