I don't own MHA. I only own OC's.
Sorry if you find any grammar mistakes. I'm still learning English because it's not my first language.
Doc. Spontaneous: I'm glad you're liking the moments Gareth and Shigaraki. The growing frienship between Shigaraki and Gareth, with Gareth slowly becoming Shigaraki's second-in-command in the process, is one my favourite things to write in this story. In the earlier drafts of this story , I was actually planning to have a romance between Gareth and Toga, but the idea was scrapped and ultimately I settled with Origami as Gareth's love interest, with Toga serving the role of a wingwoman for the two. I might do a one-shot explaining how Gareth and Toga's relationship would look like it if happen sometime in the future, though.
TheGreatGodzilla: Thank you for following my story and I hope you'll stick around for the rest of it. You don't need to apologize for not leaving a review until now. I love whenever I receive long reviews like yours :)
To answer your questions:
1. You'll get to see how Gareth's parents will react to him being the villain and all the media attention they received from it in this chapter.
2. Gareth won't have a harem out of Origami, Toga and the other female OC's which will be introduced later in the story. His love interest in this story will be only Origami, with Toga serving a role of the wingwoman for the two. I'm not really doing stories where the MC has multiple love interests. The only exceptions where I would do a story where the MC would have a harem would be Highschool DxD and Subverse.
3. I already have everything planned out for the Meta Liberation Army Arc when it comes to the stuff regarding Gareth, Origami and Mustard. You'll have to wait and see what will happen. I also came up with a few OC's from the Meta Liberation Army which will be introduced into the story after the formation of the Paranormal Liberation Front.
4. I already have everything planned out regarding the confrontantion between Gareth and Izuku, including when it will happen and how it will go. We are still far away from the confrontation between them, though.
5. All I can say right now is that this story will be mostly the storyline of MHA told from the villains point of view with a few changes there and there such as Mustard not getting caught during the Summer Camp arc and having his character expanded. I don't want to spoil if Twice, Magne and Midnight will end up dying like the they did in the canon or will they will fortunate like Mustard not to get their canon fate as I don't want to spoil anything to you.
6. I have several ideas regarding Gareth's role in the Final War Arc. I'm still waiting for the arc to finish before I will decide what to go with in the end, though. I'm already certain about doing two things with Gareth's character in this arc and what kind of a villain he will be towards heroes during this arc after the events of the Paranormal Liberation War.
I will definitely check out your story when I will get some free time :)
Zekken182: I'm glad you're liking the story. I hope you'll stick around for the future chapters :)
The first thing Gareth spotted upon opening his eyes was the ceiling of his room in Mustard's hideout. The black haired boy let out a yawn, feeling more rested than he did yesterday and sat up on his bed. He stretched for a bit upon sitting up on his bed and rubbed his eyes, trying to make his vision less blurry. He got up from the bed and looked down at the floor, setting his eyes on his socks.
He quickly put his socks on his feet and glanced to the side to look at the cupboard, wanting to grab his now fully charged phone and check what hour it was. He reached his hand towards his phone, but stopped before he could reach it. He shifted his attention to something else on the cupboard, having noticed something he didn't recall leaving on it before going to sleep the night before.
It was an old PSP console with all the equipment for it. Two video games for this console were laying next to it. Those games were GTA Vice City Stories and GTA Liberty City Stories. He reached for the PSP instead of his phone and picked it up from the cupboard. He eyed the console in his hands for a few seconds, before putting it back on the cupboard. It was when he noticed a piece of paper with something written on it laying on the cupboard.
He picked up the piece of paper he had just set his eyes on, wanting to know what the writing was saying. The message wasn't long. It said, "Hello, Gareth. This is Kurogiri. Shigaraki Tomura brought me this old video game console after we arrive at our own hideout and told me to transport it to you. I would give it to you personally, but you were asleep when I arrived at this hideout and didn't want to wake you up. I hope we'll get to see other in person again soon. Kurogiri."
Gareth smiled slightly at the message, nodding to himself as he shifted his gaze from the message to the PSP and the two video games for it. He didn't thought he will get an opportunity to play a video game in his free time anytime soon since everything he had related to gaming was lost in his old hideout in Camino Ward. He will have to thank Shigaraki for giving it to him for his stay in this hideout, even if it was quite old and only had two games, the next time he'll see him.
He put the piece of paper back on the cupboard and unplugged his phone before picking it up. He turned on his phone, wanting to know what the hour was and saw it shortly after ten in the morning. The black haired boy nodded his head to himself as it explained to him why he was feeling so rested today, because he usually woke up at seven thirty in the morning instead of ten. It also showed him just how tired he was yesterday if he slept over two and a half hours more than usual.
After finding out what was the hour right now, Gareth put his phone in his pocket and turned away from the cupboard to look at the door to his room. He started to make his way towards it, wondering if the others were awake. Out of all three of them, he was only certain about Toga being awake at this point of the day, because of her volunteering to go get them some food and drinks from the local store in the early morning.
He stopped in front of the door and pushed it open, stepping into the living room. He took a good look around the living room as soon as he walked into it and saw Toga was awake, just like he excepted her to be. She wasn't the only member of the League he saw awake. Origami and Mustard were awake as well. His fellow villains didn't notice him walk into the living room right away as they were watching the morning news broadcast about the events of the Camino Ward. Or rather Origami and Mustard were watching the TV as Toga was paying more attention to her knife, despise having her eyes set on the TV.
Origami turned away from the TV after a few seconds, having overheard someone walking towards her and the others from behind and smiled when she saw Gareth walking towards her and the rest, "Gareth."
"Hey." Gareth smiled back at her as Toga and Mustard looked in the direction Origami was looking at right now upon hearing her call out for Gareth, "Good morning to all of you."
Mustard crossed his arms with small smile on his face, "Would you look at that. Our sleeping beauty has finally awoken."
Toga smiled as well, "Good morning to you too, Gakkun."
"Did you slept well?" Origami asked as Gareth stopped next to the couch she was sitting on with Mustard and Toga.
"Yeah." Gareth nodded in confirmation, "Thankfully I didn't have any trouble falling asleep last night."
Origami smiled at him, nodding her head, "I'm glad to hear it."
"It took you so long to wake up I was slowly starting to think you weren't going to wake up." Mustard stated, "I even thought about waking you up about an hour ago, but I backed out of it in the end after some convincing..."
"Origami-chan was the one who insisted on letting you sleep until you'll wake up by yourself." Toga added, interrupting Mustard before he could what he was saying as she elbowed Origami with a teasing look on her face, "Right, Origami-chan?"
Origami blushed slightly at the look Toga had directed her way, growing slightly nervous as she glanced to the side. At the same time she couldn't ask herself one thing, though. She was asking herself why she so nervous out of the sudden, "I just wanted you to take some rest. I felt like you needed a good night of sleep after everything we went through in the last few days."
"It's okay. You don't have to explain yourself for it." Gareth smiled at her, "Thanks for letting me sleep until I woke up by myself. I felt like I needed to sleep a bit longer than usual after the last few days."
Origami smiled at him, rubbing the back of her head as she felt the blush slowly fading off her face, "It's okay. It was no problem."
Gareth shifted his gaze from Origami to Mustard, "Kataoka-kun. Can you tell me where the bathroom is? I haven't checked where it was yesterday."
Mustard nodded at him and pointed in the direction of the bathroom, "It's over there."
"Thanks." Gareth looked at him with a grateful look on his face as glanced in the direction Mustard was pointing at right now. After learning where the bathroom was, he glanced back at his fellow villains, "I'll be back in several minutes. I'll join you guys after I will make myself something to eat for breakfast after leaving the bathroom."
"You don't need to do it. I'll prepare your breakfast for you." Origami said as she got up from the couch. She didn't consider herself an expert in cooking, but she doubted anyone would be able to mess up wth the stuff Toga had bought for them to eat in the food store.
"Alright. Thanks." Gareth nodded gratefully and turned away from her and the rest, beginning to walk towards the bathroom as Origami went into the kitchen to prepare him something to eat for breakfast.
"What?" He asked her with a confused look on his face.
"Come on, Hiroto-kun." Toga said, "Don't tell me you're not seeing it~?"
Mustard raised his brow, "Seeing what?"
Toga sighed, shaking her head, "It seems like I will have to explain it to you."
"Explain what?" Mustard asked, having no idea what Toga was talking about right now.
Gareth walked over to the bathroom door, paying no attention to whatever Toga and saying to Mustard right now and pushed it open. He walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind, making sure to lock it to prevent anyone from walking in on having a bath. He looked around the bathroom shorty after entering it, wanting to take a quick look around the bathroom.
There wasn't much he could say about the bathroom. It had a shower, a toilet , a washing machine and a sink. All of which were quite old looking, just like the TV in the living room. It seemed like a regular bathroom you'd normally see in a regular household. He nodded to himself and walked over to the sink, wanting to brush his teeth before he will wash himself in the shower.
He saw one toothpaste laying on the sink. Toga must have bought it for them when she was on her shopping trip. He didn't have any toothbrush he could put the toothpaste on as it was left back in Camino Ward. He quickly had to come up with an alternative for a toothbrush. He put the toothpaste on his finger and scrubbed his teeth with it, using it like it was a toothbrush. After cleaning his teeth, he turned off the sink and turned around to look at the shower in the corner of the bathroom and came closer to it, beginning to take off his clothes.
After getting himself ready for the day, he walked out of the bathroom and made his way back to the living room where Mustard and Toga were still watching the TV from the couch. Origami was back with them as well, having returned from the kitchen when he was getting himself ready for the day and had her eyes set on the TV in front of her. It didn't took him long to notice a cup of freshly prepared instant ramen on the table in front of the cought.
"Is this mine?" He asked, taking his seat on the couch next to Origami as he pointed at the instant ramen on the table in front of him and the rest.
Origami nodded in confirmation, "Yes. I just brought it from the kitchen."
"Okay. Thanks once again for preparing this." Gareth nodded, earning a smile from Origami as he grabbed the instant ramen and looked at Toga, "So we'll be having instant ramen from now on?"
"Yes. I figured out it would be the best food for us to lay low without running out of money in the process." Toga explained, "I made sure to add a few extra items to my shopping list, though such as popcorn for our movie night later today and Origami-chan's special order~."
"A diet made out of the instant ramen for I don't even know how long. Yummy." Mustard commented dryly.
"It's still better than going hungry." Gareth stated as he dug into his breakfast, filling his belly with the instant ramen. He swallowed the noddles and glanced at Toga, "You weren't spotted by anyone in the store, right?"
Toga looked between him, Origami and Mustard, rubbing the back of her head as a sheepish expression formed on her facial features, "I just hope all of you won't get angry at me for that."
Mustard raised his brow at her, tensing up a bit, "What are you talking about?"
"I think I was recognized by one man when I was busy filling up the shopping cart with the instant ramen." Toga explained as Gareth, Origami and Mustard looked at her with widened eyes, the former dropping his breakfast on the couch because of her explanation, "You don't need to worry about anything, though. He won't inform the authorities about the possibility of us staying in the area anytime soon."
"What makes you so sure?" Gareth asked as Origami and Mustard nodded at the question.
"Because I killed him and ate his liver after leading him to a dark alleyway." Toga replied in a completely serious tone as Gareth, Mustard and Origami looked at her with stunned expressions on their faces, not saying anything to her because of the shock they were in right now.
Gareth and Origami looked at Toga with with shocked and disturbed looks on their faces as Mustard pulled out his phone, looking like he was about to call Giran again and tell him he wanted to change hideouts. The tension in the entire hideout grew bigger the longer everyone staying in it at the moment remained silent, the only sound in it being the sound of the TV presenter explaining the current topic on the news.
Toga laughed after viewing how everyone reacted to her answer, breaking the tension between her and her fellow villains she had caused to form. She spoke to them again a second later, all the seriousness vanishing from her face and from her tone, "Don't worry. I'm just joking. No one in the store recognized me, so I didn't have to make sure the authorities weren't alerted to my presence in the area. I don't think anyone aside from the cashier paid any attention to me. I have to say, though. The plain white walls of the food store were quite boring, though. They could use a little nicer red color on them~."
Origami looked at Toga with a relieved look on her face, "Oh. So it was just a joke? Phew..."
"I feel calmer already." Gareth admitted, looking as much relieved as Origami was.
"You can say that again." Mustard agreed with them, putting his phone back in his pocket, "I was about to call Giran and tell him to move me to whatever other hideout he has available right now."
Toga let out another laugh at their reactions and titled her head to side in a curious manner, "Why would you want to change hideouts right away, Hiroto-kun? Even if what I just said wasn't a joke, then the guy who noticed me would be gone at this point."
"Excuse me for trying to be cautious and actually lay low like we were told to." Mustard replied, "Especially with all the attention we have gotten in the last few days."
Gareth continued to eat his breakfast as he glanced at Origam, feeling how his eyes slightly widened in suprise as he saw pistol, Colt M1911 to be exact, laying close to her. He raised his brow at the view of it, having not seen Origami use a pistol before. He knew it didn't have to be her pistol either as he knew Mustard was using a pistol before it was lost when they attacked
"Origami." He called out to her to gain her attention, wanting to make sure whose pistol it was.
Origami titled her head to look at him, raising her brow, "What is it?"
Gareth pointed at the pistol with his free hand, "Is this yours pistol or Mustard's?"
Origami looked down at the pistol laying next to her and picked it up to give Gareth a better look at it, "It's mine."
"Where did you get it?" Gareth asked her another question, nodding his head at her answer to his previous quesiton, "You haven't had it yesterday."
"I asked Toga-chan to find me a stick I could use to change into a gun with my Quirk." Origami explained, "After what happened when we attacked the summer camp attack, I realized having my katana as my only weapon might not the best idea, because I won't have anything to defend myself if it will be either knocked out my grasp or my opponent will be someone my katana will be useless against it." Gareth nodded in understanding as she turned her gaze to Toga, "Thank you once again for finding me a proper stick, Toga-chan."
"No problem, Origami-chan." Toga smiled at Origami, "It is always a pleasure to help out my bestie."
Origami nodded at her with a grateful look on her face and shifted her gaze back to Mustard, "I asked Kataoka-kun if he could show me how to use a gun as I haven't fired one before and he already has some experience with guns."
"I'm doing this only because it will be nice to show off my skills with a gun to someone." Mustard explained himself for allowing Origami to have a few shooting lessons from him, "Nice to see you opened your eyes and realized a gun is a better weapon."
Toga laughed, looking at Mustard with a teasing look on her face, "Hiroto-kun is a tsundere."
"No. I'm not!" Mustard immediately shook his head at the accusation, earning another laugh from Toga as Gareth and Origami exchanged amused smiles at his reaction.
"I'm sorry if this will anger you in any way, Kataoka-kun." Origami told Mustard with an apologetic expression forming on her face, "I may have agreed to be trained how to use a gun properly, but it still doesn't change the fact I will continue to use my katana as I consider a better weapon for me than a firearm."
"If you say so." Mustard shrugged his shoulders at her response, "You will see a gun is a better weapon after the first lesson. You'll see."
Gareth turned away from his fellow villains to take a look at the TV, "Are they showing anything interesting in the TV right now?"
"Not really." Origami replied, "What happened in Camino Ward is everything the news channels are talking about right now."
"Can you blame them?" Mustard asked, "It's one of the hottest stories in the recent years as we forced All Might into retirement and one of the most powerful villains has been caught. They're gonna milk it for all its worth before it becomes old news."
"...We have some new news regarding the Camino Ward incident as Takemura Ryoma and Sandra, the Mask's parents, have finally come out with a statement regarding their sons despicable actions as a villain." The TV presenter announced as Gareth's eyes widened upon hearing him mention him parents.
"What?" The black haired boy muttered to himself as he immediately set his widened eyes on the TV, having completely forgotten about his breakfast because of this.
Toga leaned closer to the TV with a mixture of interest and disgust, remembering everything Gareth told her about his parents, "Your parents, Gakkun?"
"We can turn it off if you want to." Origami suggested with concern slowly growing on her facial features as she turned away from the TV to look at Gareth for a second.
"No. You don't need to turn the TV off." Gareth shook his head, "I want to hear what they have to say."
"Nothing me I or my wife will do or say will excuse our sons actions." Ryoma's voice echoed from the TV as Gareth's father was shown standing in front of pile of microphones from the reporters from various TV stations. Sandra was standing right behind him. He did his best to hide how nervous he was by the entire situation. His wife tried to do the same, but was doing a much worse job at doing so than him as Gareth and his fellow villains could easily see how nervous she was right now, "Me and my wife have no idea why Gareth would do all those terrible things as we didn't thought he was capable of committing such atrocities. We did everything we could to provide our son everything a child would need to grow up into a decent person. We truly have no idea what we did wrong when it came raising our only son. Perharps him turning out the way he did was something we just couldn't control."
Ryoma stepped to the side, having finished his part of the interview as Sandra sighed and walked over to the microphones, beginning to speak to the reporters, "We wish we could provide the authorities the answer of how came into the contact with the villain All Might fought off in Camino Ward and got his Quirk from him as our son has been Quirkless for most of his life. We wish we could do smething to atone for our son's despicable actions, but we know nothing do will fix all the harm our son has caused to so many people. We thought we knew our son, but it seems like we were wrong. We truly thought he was something better than what the Mask is."
Gareth clenched his free hand in anger as his mother stopped talking to the reporters, having finished saying whatever she had planned herself to say. If he was honest with himself, he excepted to see something like this from his parents in an attempt to save their face after his identity as the Mask will become known to the media, but that didn't change the fact that seeing his parents try to make themselves like they were innocent victims of the circumstances
Mustard crossed his arms, realizing what Gareth's parents were doing right now, "I see someone is trying to save their face."
Origami looked at Gareth with a worried look on her face, "Are you okay, Gareth?"
"Yes. I'm fine." Gareth replied as the TV camera cut away from Gareth's parents and showed the TV presenter again, "I'm a bit angry they're trying to make themselves look like they never did anything wrong to the media, but I excepted to see this kind of thing from them as they did the same thing back when I went missing over a year ago."
"Okay." Origami nodded in understanding as the TV presenter started saying something to the viewers, "I just wanted to make sure."
"I know and I appreciate it." Gareth nodded back at her.
"My offer from earlier still stands, Gakkun." Toga reminded Gareth about the offer she made him a while ago, looking at the TV which was displaying Ryoma and Sandra several second ago with deadly intentions in her eyes, "I just need an address, phone number and social security number. Things will get bloody if you'll agree to my offer this time."
"I appreciate the offer, Toga-chan, but my answer will remain the same." Gareth responded, "Losing their reputation and having other people view them in a bad light is something my parents would consider worse than death. For now, I'm perfectly fine with them living with the results of their own actions and with their reputation destroyed forever, because of their villanous son."
"I see." Toga nodded in understanding, "You still are free to come to me with this matter if you will change your mind. I will gladly get this done whenever you will want me to."
Gareth rubbed the back of his head with a slightly sheepish smile on his face, "I'll make sure to keep it in mind."
"...The video we had just showed you might led you into believing Takemura Ryoma and Sandra are nothing but a victim of their villanous son." The TV presenter said, "However, Takemura Sandra's younger sister and the Mask's aunt, Okuda Grace has come out to the media with an audio recording of the talk between Takemura Ryoma and Sandra she had recorded on the day Gareth was revealed to be the Mask. This audio recording might provide us the information of how things truly looked in the Takemura household."
Gareth looked at the TV with a suprised look on his face, "...What?"
Toga raised her brow at him curiously, "You know her, Gakkun?"
"No. I've heard about her from my parents and saw photos of her and my mom in my house, but I've never met her in person. All I know about her is that she's my mother younger sister." Gareth responded, "My parents kept my away from the rest of our family as they didn't want to show their disappointment they considered me to be to the other members of the family. I managed to overhear my parents talking about her and my cousin many times, though."
"I see." Toga nodded in understanding, deciding not to push the subject further because of the the tone Gareth used when he uttered the last several words.
"...We barely managed to make ourselves look decent when he pulled off his stunt with running away. How the fuck are we going to make ourselves look decent when we have a fucking murderer for a son?" Sandra's voice sounded in the TV as Gareth, Origami, Mustard and Toga silently listened to her words.
Gareth flinched at the tone of voice she used when she uttered those words, having gotten an unpleasant chance to hear it everytime when she scolded him for not being the son she and her husband had birthed him to be. Origami saw him reaction and immediately put her hand on his shoulder in a comforting manner as Toga and Mustard brieftly glanced at him in concern.
The audio recording of Sandra and Ryoma discussing or rather arguing how they should handle the matter of the media attention they will receive, because of everything Gareth had done as the Mask continued to play for the next few moments. More words between Ryoma and Sandra parents were exchanged the longer it played and many of the things they said to each other was something Gareth was familiar it from his homelife with them.
Gareth clenched his hand as he continued to listen to the audio recording of his parents his aunt had recorded. Despise his hatred of parents for everything they had put him through in his life, it stil hurted him a bit to hear them talk about him in the ways they were talking about him in this audio recording. At the same time he couldn't help but feel satisfaction. Satisfaction of seeing his parents getting exposed for what they truly were in the media for the entire country to see.
Mustard shook his head as the audio recording continued to play, "...Jesus." He looked away from the TV to look at Gareth, showing him the pitful look he had on his face right now, "Those bastards birthed you just because they wanted to show off everyone around them just how successful their family is and how better they are than everyone?"
"Yes." Gareth nodded in confirmation.
"Fuck. That's messed up." Mustard shook his head and looked away from him to look at Toga and Origami, "Did you two knew about this?"
"Yes." Toga nodded, glaring at the TV screen with deadly intentions in her eyes, "Gareth told me about this me and Dabi-kun when we were brought into the League by Giran after Dabi-kun recognized him from the TV."
"He told me about this on the day I joined the League." Origami added, continuing to rub Gareth's back comfortingly as Mustard nodded in understanding at them.
"...I know many of you are asking yourself why Ms. Okuda would throw her own sister under the bus like that right now, especially after her nephew turned out to be a villain wanted for the murder of a Pro-Hero Cyborg." The TV reporter said as soon as he appeared on the TV screen again after the audio recording ended, "Our reporter has asked her the same question and recorded the answer she had given him. We will play it right now."
It was when he vanished from the TV screen again and was replaced with a white screen with two pictures in the center of it. A picture on the left was a blank picture of a faceless person with Gareth's aunt name and last name written underneath it while the picture on the right showed the picture or rather an image of a black handset of old the telephones people were using before mobile phones were invented.
"It really pains me to do something like this to my own sister, because despise everything she's done, she's still my sister." The audio recording of Grace's answer to the reporter's question started playing, "I couldn't bring myself ignore it, even if my nephew became a villain as I have a son myself and I can't imagine him going through the things my nephew had to go through at the hands of my sister and brother-in law. Our family is filled with unpleasant people who only care about themselves and the way other people view them. I genuinely hoped and believed my older sister was not one of them, but unfortunely it seems like I was wrong. I never got a chance to met my nephew in person as my sister and brother-in-law almost kept Gareth hidden from the rest of our family. Now, with everything that's happened recently, I can see just how many red flags I have missed for all these years. Now, all I can do is regret that I haven't noticed them sooner and did something about them before any of this could happen..."
"...From everything we just learned from Ms. Okuda, I think it's quite easy to say things aren't looking well for the Takemura family. In addition to everything, this audio recording recorded by Ms. Okuda isn't the only thing accusing the Mask's parents of child negligence and abuse." The TV presenter revealed, having returned to the viewing screen after the audio recording of Gareth's aunt ended, "A few of their colleagues from work came out to say the two parents were complaining about the media coverage the case of their son was getting after Gareth vanished without a trace over a year. Could the Mask's have not been the loving caring parents they have potrayed themselves to be for all those months? Could everything they have been doing since their son was revealed to tbe the Mask an attempt to save their face to not lose any clients in their job? We are still waiting for them to make a statement about it."
"Gareth." Origami called out for Gareth, trying to earn his attention as the black haired boy continued to stare at the TV in front of him in silence after the matter of his parents ended, "Are you okay?"
"Yes. I'm okay." Gareth reassured her as he turned away from the TV screen to look at her, "I feel kind of good and satisfied right now, I guess."
Mustard nodded in agreement, "At the least they will get what's coming for them."
"You know what, Gakkun?" Toga said as Gareth looked at her, wondering what she was going to say to him, "I'm starting to see why you wanted me to leave them alive after hearing how much they worried about their image in the audio recording your aunt took. Perharps leaving them alive with the ruined image and reputation will really be worse than death for them."
"I can't help but feel suprised about one thing, though." Gareth admitted.
"What is it?" Origami wanted to know.
"It's about my aunt." Gareth replied, "I'm just suprised she would do something like this. The only way I knew of her existance were pictures of her and my mom and the conversations I overheard of my parents talking about how much they wished her son, my cousin was their son instead of me. I excepted her to be like my parents and the few family members I actually got a chance to met. It seems like I was wrong, though. I can only imagine how stuff will look for her in my family after this news report."
"At least not everyone in your family is a dick." Mustard stated.
"Yes." Origami nodded in agreement, "At least your family has a few decent people in it."
"Yeah." Gareth nodded at them as he looked between them. He actually felt some positive feelings towards someone in his life for the first time in his life. He wasn't going to let this make him back away from his task, though, "I guess so."
"...In other news surrounding the most recent news regarding the Camino Ward incident, Jakuzure Shiori, the mother of Jakuzure Origami otherwise known as a C ranked villain Weaponsmith has come out with a statement regarding her daughter's action as a member of the League of Villains." The TV presenter announced the next matter which will be talked about in the morning news as Origami immediately set her eyes on the TV screen at the mention of her mother.
"Mom?" The dark green haired girl whispered to herself, her eyes not leaving the TV in front of her.
"I knew this girl was a monster capable of doing terrible things since she took my beloved husband away from me when her Quirk manifested for the first time." Shiori's cold words in the hideout as Origami flinched at her words, "Harming other people was all this girl has done for her entire life and she will continue to harm other people with her actions. All I can do right now is to hope and pray she will be caught soon before she will cause anymore harm to people around her..."
The screen of the TV was turned black, cutting Shiori's words off as Origami quickly grabbed the remote and turned the TV off, her hand skaky because of the emotions she was feeling right now. Gareth, Toga and Mustard turned away from the TV to look at the dark green haired girl and saw how teary eyed Origami had become, because of the way her mother talked about her. She couldn't help herself. It just brought back so many unpleasant memories at the same time and she just couldn't take it.
Origami looked at them with an apologetic look on her face, freeing the tears she was keeping in her eyelids, "I'm sorry. I just couldn't watch it after she started talking about me like this. It just reminded me of home and everytime when she would call me names and lock me out of the house for the smallest things..."
"Hey." Gareth brought her closer to him and put his head on his shoulder as Origami placed her head on his shoulder, blushing slightly, "It's okay. You have nothing to apologize for."
"I don't even know why I reacted like this." Origami admitted, "I thought her words won't affect how I feel anymore as I completely cut myself away from her. It seems like I was wrong."
"Don't worry about it. It's just like I said. You have nothing to apologize for." Gareth reassured her no harm was done as Origami removed her head from his shoulder and wiped off her teary eyes with her hands.
"Exactly." Mustard nodded in agreement, "Don't let that bitch's words get to you."
"You don't have to apologize for reacting like this to your mother calling you like this on the TV. You're not the only one who has been called a monster by their family." Toga offered some words of comfort to her bestie as Origami looked over her shoulder at her, "My parents talked about me in a similiar way after I was labelled as a villain."
Origami looked at her with a pitful look on her face, "Toga-chan. I'm sorry you had to go through that."
"It's okay." Toga responded. A hint of anger grew in her tone as she uttered the next words, "I'll be whoever I want to be without caring what they think about it. I don't have to be their perfect daughter."
Origami nodded at Toga and smiled at her, showing her she appreciated her words of comfort and she felt better right now because of them, "Thank you, Toga-chan."
"We're besties aren't we?" Toga smiled back at her.
Origami shifted her gaze from Toga to Mustard, "Thank you as well, Kataoka-kun."
"We're working together towards the same goal, aren't we?" Mustard responded.
Origami nodded at him and turned to look at Gareth, "Gareth? Can I ask you something?"
"What is it?" Gareth asked her.
"Can we do some training right now?" Origami told him the question she had in her mind right now, "I want to take my mind off what we just saw in the TV."
"Of course." Gareth nodded at her as he got up from the couch, "We can start right now. We will do some physical training right now as we don't have the equipment to do our usual training."
"Alright." Origami nodded at him as she got up from the couch.
"We'll be in my room if you'll need us." Gareth informed Toga and Mustard, looking between them.
"Okay/Fine." Toga and Mustard replied at the same time as Gareth and Origami turned away from them and walked into Gareth's room where they were going to do some physical training.
Gareth walked out of the bathroom, having just taken another shower today after finishing his training session with Origami. He looked around himself, trying to see where Origami was waiting for him right now as she told him there was one thing she wanted to talk about with him after he will be done with his shower. He didn't have to wait for Origami to take her own shower before this conversation as she had taken her a shower before him. Mustard and Toga were nowhere to be seen as they were doing their own stuff in their rooms right now.
Origami smiled at him, leaning against the couch as she saw him walk out of the bathroom, "Hey."
"Hey." He nodded as he walked over to her and looked at her questioningly, "What is it you wanted to talk about?"
Origami stepped away from the couch and moved towards the kitchen, "I'll show you in the kitchen."
"Okay." Gareth responded, growing more curious about the subject Origami wanted to talk with him about as he wondered why she would want to talk about in the kitchen out of all places.
The black haired boy followed Origami into the kitchen as Origami stopped next to the kitchen counter and motioned him to come closer to her. It was when Gareth noticed something laying on the kitchen counter, but couldn't make it out what it was as Origami was blocking him his view of it. She turned to look at something on the counter as Gareth walked over to her and set his eyes on it.
"...A baking equipment?" He asked himself as soon as he set his eyes on the stuff on the counter as it turned out to be a box of cake and icing mix as well a few other supplies.
"Yes. Remember our conversation about you baking something for us before I brought you to talk with Bakugo?" Origami responded with a question of her own, nodding in confirmation at his question as Gareth looked away from the baking equipment and looked at her before nodding in confirmation, "Yesterday after you left with Shigaraki and Kurogiri to talk with Giran in a separate room, I used a computer in the place we were brought to by Kurogiri's portal and searched for the stuff needed to make a cake before writing everything down on a piece of paper. I handed the piece of paper with the ingredients to Toga-chan when I went to talk with her in her room yesterday."
Gareth looked at her with a mixture and gratitude on his face, "Why did you went through all of this to prepare this for me?"
"I just wanted to help you take your mind off what happened in Camino Ward." Origami explained, "I know the capture of your Sensei was hard for you. You're my friend and I don't want you to be sad about it. I want you to comfort you about it in some way, just like you, Toga-chan and Kataoka-kun comforted me after we saw my mom appear on the TV."
"Thank you." Gareth expressed his gratitude to Origami. He didn't need to be comforted about it anymore as Kurogiri's talk to him and Shigaraki yesterday did it's job, but it didn't change the fact he appreciated she went through the effort of preparing everything to just to make him feel better.
"You're welcome. We're friends aren't we?" Origami responded, "So. Will you do something or should I hide everything for some other day?"
"Okay. I'll bake something." Gareth nodded at Origami as Origami smiled at him. He just hoped he wasn't going to mess it up as the last time he baked something was before he became the Mask. He didn't want the effort Origami put in getting everything ready to go to waste, "I did promised you to bake something when I'll get some free time and it doesn't seem like I'll be busy with something else."
"Alright." Origami nodded, gladdened he agreed to do it as she turned away from him and started to walk out of the kitchen, "I'll leave you to it. I'll be in my room if you'll need something from me."
"How about you'll join me for this?" Gareth offered Origami to join him as the dark green haired girl stopped in her tracks just before she exited the kitchen.
Origami looked at him with a suprised look on her face, "What?"
"How about you'll join me for this?" Gareth repeated himself, "I could show you a thing or two about baking."
"Are you sure about this?" Origami's look shifted into from the suprised to the questioning one, "I don't want to be an inconvenience to you right now."
"Don't worry. You won't." Gareth assured her.
Origami stayed silent for the next few seconds, thinking about his offer and eventually nodded her head. She stepped closer to him, "Okay. I'll help you with this. Did I prepared everything we need for this or did I missed something?"
"We're going to need a baking pan maybe about a foot long and a few inches deep." Gareth explained as he looked around the kitchen, "Are there any cooking pans in this kitchen?"
"Yes. I asked Kataoka-kun about it yesterday and he said his old hideout should have some. He wasn't sure about it as he never bothered to check it. This is why I went to the kitchen before we went to choose our rooms. I wanted to be sure if there were any cooking pans here." Origami responded as she twirled on her feet and walked over to the drawer and bent down and started looking through it, "If I remember correctly, I think he told it was this drawer."
"Alright." Gareth smiled at her, nodding his head in approval, "It's good that you checked it yesterday, because we wouldn't be able to do much if it turned out that Kataoka-kun was wrong about the cooking pans in this hideout."
Origami smiled to herself at the praise as she pulled out a small metal pan from the counter. She held it up for Gareth to see, wanting to know if this was the pan he asked her to bring him, "Is this it?"
"Yes. That's it." Gareth confirmed it as he turned away from her and motioned to the space he had just cleared on the counter, "Bring it over here."
"Alright." Origami nodded as she stood up and walked over to him before setting the pan down on the counter, "So. What do we start with?"
"We'll start with measuring out the ingredients." Gareth explained, "Do you know where the cups and bowl are in the kitchen?"
"Yes. I checked it yesterday as well." Origami replied as she pointed at the drawer on Gareth's right, "It's over there."
Gareth nodded at her and walked over the drawer Origami had just pointed at and opened it, seeing exactly what he was looking for right now. He pulled out a few cups and bowls before setting them down on the counter, "Alright. Let's start measuring out the ingredients."
"Okay." Origami nodded at him as she picked up a box from the counter and glanced at the back of it, reading the instructions. She nodded her head to herself, understanding the instructions and tore the box open. She poured everything into a nearby bowl and glanced to the side as she saw a teaspoon sliding over to her. She picked it up and looked at Gareth questioningly.
"Remember to use a teaspoon instead of a tablespoon. The cake will come out a brick if we use too much of this stuff." He explained to her, having all of his ingredients perfectly divided and separated as Origami nodded in understanding.
"Alright." She voiced her understanding of his explanation as she used the teaspoon to put the corrent amount the mix into a mixing cup. She continued to follow the instructions and had her ingredients perfectly divided and separated a few minutes later. After making sure she had everything done correctly, "Is everything okay, Gareth?"
"Yes." Gareth nodded at her, smilling at her, "You did everything well."
Origami smiled back at him, "What do we do next?"
"Now we combine them and mix them." Gareth explained, bringing his half of the ingredients closer to her. He started combining the ingredients, making sure to take his time, because he didn't want to risk messing something up as Origami watched him do everything from where she stood, "Alright. Can you finish mixing the ingredients while I prepare the oven?"
"Sure." Origami nodded as she stepped closer to him and grabbed the mixing whish. Gareth stepped away from her to prepare the oven as she started stirring. She didn't really know what she was doing right now as she had never done anything like this before, but she made sure to do her best.
"Origami." Gareth called out for her a few moments later.
Origami stopped what she was doing and looked at him questioningly, "Yes?"
"You're doing it wrong." Gareth revealed, "You'll be mixing it for hours if you will keep doing it like that."
Origami looked at him with an apologetic look on her face, "I'm sorry. I just never did something like this before..."
"Don't worry. You have nothing to apologize for." Gareth reassured her as Origami nodded at him, her apologetic expression fading from her face. He approached her from behind and wrapped his arms around hers as Origami blushed heavily at the action, freezing in her spot, "Here. Let me show you."
He started guiding her hands, showing her the correct motions to make as Origami stood in her place like something had frozen her to it, her blush growing larger the longer she and Gareth were in this position. She bit her lip, trying to keep her hearbeat under control as she felt how her heart started pounding loudly against her chest.
"Are you okay?" Gareth asked her a few seconds later, having noticed the frozen state the dark green haired girl was in right now.
"Yes. it's just..." Origami's words got caught in her throat as Gareth quickly noticed how embarrassed she sounded when she uttered those three words to him. It was when he glanced down and saw how close they were to each other right now.
The black haired boy blushed the moment he realized what he was doing right now and backed away from Origami, making sure to return the bowl to her grasp before doing so. He spoke up to her in an embarrassed tone a few seconds later, "Sorry. I didn't realize what I was doing. I should have just ask you to give me the bowl to show you instead of approaching you from behind and taking your hands..."
"It's okay. Let's just go back to what we were doing as if it didn't happen." Origami told him, her blush staying on her face as Gareth nodded at her in agreement. She quickly went back to what she was doing, following Gareth's instructions and doing it properly this time as she did her best to ignore how quickly her heart was beating right now.
"Okay." Gareth said a few moments later, making her stop what she was doing and look at him again, "That should be enough mixing. Now pour it slowly into the pan."
"Alright." Origami nodded at him and as she walked over to the cooking pan and leaned closer to it. She started pouring the batter into it, doing her best to be careful enough not to spill it. She licked her lips as she finished pouring the batter, because of how appetizing it smelt, "What do we do now?"
"We bake it." Gareth replied as he took the cooking pan from her and placed it in the oven.
"How long will we have to wait for it to be done?" Origami asked, glancing into the oven as Gareth closed it.
"About three hours." Gareth replied, "If it wasn't an instant mix, it would take us an entire day to make a cake."
"Oh, I see." Origami nodded in understanding, "So. What are we going to do now?"
Gareth pointed at the small mess they made on the kitchen counter, "Well, we have to clean up the mess we on the counter. After we're done cleaning, we'll figure something out."
"Alright." Origami smiled at him as she moved to him to help him clean up the kitchen.
Gareth and Origami laid next to each other on the bed in Gareth's room, having went there after cleaning up the kitchen to kill some time while waiting for the cake to bake. Origami had her eyes set on the screen of the PSP, waving her feet in the air as made sure to do her best in the game with the little gaming abilities she had as Gareth was right next to her, offering her some advice from time to time.
The two of them quickly stopped what they were doing as the alarm Gareth had set up in his phone after putting the cake in the oven started playing, meaning the cake was done. Gareth left the room and went to the kitchen to take the cake out of the oven as Origami stayed in the room for moment, making sure to save the game to not let the progress be lost, before following him into the kitchen.
"How's the cake?" She asked Gareth as she walked into the kitchen, seeing him pulling on an oven mitt.
"It should be fine." Gareth replied as he removed the cake pan from the oven and placed it on the counter to cool, "Once it cools down, we can add the icing."
"Alright." Origami nodded in understanding as she looked at the tubes of frosting Toga had bought earlier today in the morning on the other side of the counter.
Origami and Gareth stayed in the kitchen for the next few moments, deciding to wait for the cake to cool down there as they knew it shouldn't take long for the cake to cool down. They chatted with each other for a little bit about a few things to kill the time of waiting for the cake to cool down. It wasn't long before the cake they had prepared together had cooled down as Gareth knew what he should do next.
"Okay." Gareth nodded to himself after checking it if the cake had cooled down as stepped away from the cake and walked over to the counter side of the counter to grab one of the tubes of frosting, "Now I just need to put on the icing and we'll be done with it."
"Do you want me to help you with this?" Origami asked as Gareth walked back to the cake.
"No." Gareth shook his head at her offer, beginning to spread the icing over the cake, "I got this."
Origami nodded at him, patiently waiting for him to be done with the icing as her mouth watered a bit because of good the cake smelt. Cake might have not been among her favourite things to eat and it was definitely far away from her favourite type of food, but it didn't change the fact the cake she and Gareth had prepared together looked really tasty.
"...Anddd there." Gareth said, having just finished spreading the icing over the cake. He turned away from the cake to look at Origami, holding the nearly empty tube of frosting, "There's about a spoonful left. Do you want to finish tube?"
"No. You can fishing it if you want to. You did all the work applying it, after all." Origami answered as Gareth nodded at her. The black haired boy brought the tube to his lips and devoured what was left in it as Origami walked over to the cake to take a good look at how the finished product looked like. She smiled to herself, growing hungry at the looks of it as it looked very tasty as Gareth put the empty tube aside, "It looks nice."
"It really does." Gareth nodded in agreement, smilling slightly at the view of the cake as he reached into a drawer and pulled out a knife, "Now. Let's see how it tastes like. Looks won't matter if will not taste good." He let out a sigh, his small smile fading from his lips, "Hopefully I didn't mess anything up."
"Don't worry. I'm sure it'll taste as good as it looks." Origami smiled at him.
Gareth nodded at her and began to cut the cake into the equal pieces. After he was done with it, he put the knife aside and picked up the nearby piece of the cake as Origami wasted no time and picked one cake for herself as well. They exchanged glances with each other, before tasting the cake they had prepared together. They felt how their eyes widened once they let their taste buds taste their cake, because of how good it tasted. Or least as good as an instant cake could taste like.
Gareth smiled, gladdened he didn't mess up the first cake he had baked in over a year as he glanced at Origami, "It's good."
"Yeah." Origami smiled back, "See? I told you it would be good."
"What are you doing here?" A familiar female voice sounded behind them. Gareth and Origami turned around to the source of it and saw Toga and Mustard standing behind them. Toga was standing in the entrance to the kitchen with a teasing knowing look on her face as Mustard was sitting down on the couch and had his head buried between the pages of the notebook Gareth saw him find yesterday, "Am I interrupting something?
"No." Gareth shook his head, feeling a slight blush form on his face as Origami glanced away from Toga, feeling a blush forming on her face as well, "We were just tasting the cake we baked together."
"Oh, it's done?" Toga questioned with an interested look on her face as she entered the kitchen and walked over to Gareth and Origami, "Can I try it? I saw it in the oven about an hour ago and wanted to try it out ever since."
"Go ahead." Gareth nodded and stepped aside, giving Toga enough space to move, "Help yourself."
Toga walked over to the cake and picked up one piece of the cake for herself. She bite into it and smiled to herself at how good it tasted. She looked between her friends with a smile on his face, "It's good. You made a good use out of everything Origami-chan asked me to buy yesterday."
Origami smiled back at her and looked at Gareth, "See, Gareth? You didn't have to worry about you ruining this cake, because of your break one year break in baking."
"I'm not the only one who did it. You helped me with it." Gareth pointed out.
"Following your instructions was all I did. You still did most of the work." Origami pointed out. She really wished Gareth would start giving himself more credit. She turned away from him to look at Toga a second later, "Can I ask you why you were going to the kitchen, Toga-chan?"
"Of course you can. I was about to come here and prepare some popcorn." Toga explained, "The hour of the start of our movie night is nearing."
Origami raised her brow, "Really?"
Gareth pulled out his phone and checked the hour. He nodded his head to himself, seeing Toga was right, "She's right, Origami." He held his phone for Origami to see the hour, "Look."
Origami's eyes widened slightly as she looked at Gareth's phone, "Oh. Today sure flew by quickly."
"Good thing you baked this cake. It will be a nice addition to the popcorn on our movie night." Toga stated as she looked over her shoulders to look at Mustard, "Hiroto-kun?"
"What?" Mustard asked as he turned away from his notebook for a second.
"Gakkun and Origami-chan finished the cake they were working on together! Do you want to try it?" Toga asked.
"...Why not." Mustard replied after a second of thought as he closed his notebook and set it on the table. He walked into the kitchen and walked over the part of the counter where cake was, interesting in trying it out, "I was there when Gareth told Origami about his interest in this type of stuff, so I might a well try out the stuff made by him."
Toga grinned mischievously to herself as Mustard picked up one piece of cake to try it. She quietly made her way out of the kitchen back into the living room, her fellow villains failing to notice it and picked up the notebook her fellow villain was keeping close to himself since yesterday, wondering what it contained. She opened it on the random page and her eyes widened in suprise. She browsed through the pages of the notebook, her suprised eyes turning into awe and walked back into the kitchen.
Mustard swallowed the piece of cake he had in his mouth right now and turned to look at Gareth with a small smile of approval, "Not bad..."
"Hiroto-kun." Toga called out for Mustard, cutting him off before he could say more as Mustard turned around to look at her, feeling how his eyes widened the moment he saw what she was holding in her hands right now.
Mustard looked at her with a mixture of anger and embarassment on his face, "Why did you took it? Don't you know about a little thing called privacy?"
"I couldn't help myself. I saw you keeping your nose in it and was curious to see what had you so interested in it." Toga revealed as she turned the notebook around, wanting to show Gareth and Origami what it had contained.
Gareth and Origami leaned closer to the notebook as they saw what it contained. It contained drawings. A lot of very well drawn drawings. Gareth, Origami and Toga continued to browse through the notebook, becoming more amazed by the quality of the stuff Mustard had drawn in it as Mustard glanced to the side, feeling his embarassment growing bigger the longer they browsed through his notebook.
Origami looked at all the drawings she just saw in amazement, "Those are really nice, Kataoka-kun."
"She's right." Gareth agreed with Origami turned away from the notebook to look at Mustard, "Have you ever thought about becoming a mangaka?"
"It was my second choice of career back in junior high." Mustard admitted, remaining embarassed about the fact they were seeing his drawings right now.
"Really?" Origami asked.
"What was your first choice?" Gareth asked out of curiosity.
"A Pro-Hero." Mustard replied, his tone becoming more saddened than embarassed when he responded. It didn't went unnoticed by his fellow villains. He let out a sigh, "Too bad it didn't seem to matter to everyone around me." Gareth, Toga and Origami stayed silently and didn't ask Mustard any further questions, realizing this must have been a touchy subject for him. He walked over to Toga and took his notebook from her before going back into the living room, "I'll be in the living room waiting for whatever movie she wants to watch with us to start."
"Really?" Gareth looked at him with a slightly suprised look on his face as Mustard walked over to the exit from the kitchen, "I thought you weren't going to join on the movie night Toga-chan planned."
"Hiroto-kun changed his mind when you and Origami-chan were training." Toga filled Gareth and Origami in with a proud toothy grin on her face, "My convicing skills worked greatly on him."
"Really? Your convicing skills? More like you wouldn't stop bothering me about it until I agreed." Mustard pointed out.
"Hey! It worked. Hasn't it?" Toga pouted.
"We better go into the living room as well." Gareth told Origami as Origami nodded in agreement, "We should take our seats on the couch if this movie night will start soon."
"Okay." Toga nodded in understanding, with an excited look on her face as Gareth and Origami started heading out of the kitchen, leaving her alone there, "I'll go get the popcorn ready and put the pieces of cake on the plate. I can't wait for your reaction to this movie so much."
Gareth, Origami, Toga and Mustard were seated on the couch right in front of the TV, making sure they had everything they needed for the movie night before Toga will turn on the movie she wanted to watch with them. There were two bowls of popcorn on the couch, one between Gareth and Origami and one between Toga and Mustard. A plate with a few pieces of Gareth and Origami's cake was on the table in front of them.
Toga glanced to the side, taking one last around herself to make sure everything was ready to start the movie night and saw Origami eating a slice of the cake she had baked with Gareth, having her second slice of it since Toga brought the cake to the living room from the kitchen, "You must be really hungry, Origami-chan. It's the second slice you've ate since I brought the cake you made with Gakkun here."
"I'm doing this because of my Quirk. The more I eat, the more weapons I can create." Origami explained how one aspect of her Quirk worked like to Toga after swallowing the piece of cake she was eating right now.
Mustard looked at her with a thoughtful expression on his face, seeing a familiarity between how Origami's Quirk worked and something else, "Like how shit works."
Origami opened her mouth in order to respond to his statement in an attempt to deny it, but no words came. Her words died in her throat before any words left her mouth, having realized what Mustard just said was true. She put the piece of cake she was eating away, feeling how she had just lost her appetite and buried her face in her hands in total embarrassment.
"Kataoka-kun." Gareth called out for Mustard as Mustard titled his head to look at him and Toga and saw the looks they were giving him right now. He saw both of them looking at him with disappointment written all over their faces.
Mustard shifted his gaze back to Origami and looked at her with an apologetic look on his face, "Okay. I'm sorry for putting it like that."
"Toga-chan. Can you finally tell us the title of the movie you want us to watch with you?" Gareth asked Toga, trying to change the subject of the conversation to something less embarassing for Origami.
"I'm glad you asked, Gakkun~." Toga smiled at him, "With us moments away from watching this movie, I think it's time to reveal the title of this movie to you. The movie is called Terrifier."
"Terrifier?" Mustard asked, "Okay. I can see why out of all people would you like this movie so much."
Gareth raised his brow at him, "You've seen it, Kataoka-kun?"
Toga gasped in shock, "Were you a hidden lover of the slasher movies for all this time, Kataoka-kun?"
"No. I haven't. I've read about it on the internet, though." Mustard replied to Gareth's question and answered to Toga's question right after, "No. I'm not a hidden lover to the slasher movies. I still dislike them and nothing will make me change my mind."
"I see." Toga shook her head with a disappointed look on her face, crossing her arms, "You really are no fun sometimes, Hiroto-kun."
Mustard shrugged his shoulders, "Sorry to disappoint."
"Uhm, Kataoka-kun. Can I ask you something?" Origami asked as she went back to eating her slice of cake, having regained her appetite.
Mustard shifted his gaze to her, "Yeah?"
"If you read about this movie online, can you tell me what can I except from it?" Origami told him the question she had on her mind right now.
"If what the internet was saying about this movie is true, then you will lose your appetite again." Mustard replied as Origami's eyes widened a bit, starting to except what kind of scenes she will see in the movie.
"Can we start now?" Toga asked, "Or is there something you need to do before we will begin our showing?"
"I'm good." Gareth replied.
Origami nodded in agreement, "I'm good as well."
"Let's get this over with." Mustard added.
"Alright!" Toga exclaimed with an excited look on her face, turning on the movie, "I can't wait to see your reactions to this movie so much~!"
The movie started playing a few seconds later as everyone set their attention on the TV screen. As the movie continued to play, Gareth, Origami and Mustard to a chance to witness what it was about and how bloody it was. The three of them grew more disturbed and disgusted by the bloody scenes as Toga only grew more excited the further they went into the movie, being the only one from the four of them who was actually eating the popcorn or cake at this point.
The movie had eventually come to an end and the ending credits appeared on the TV screen. Gareth, Mustard and Origami silently stared at the screen with slightly disgust on their faces, the latter especially looking relieved the movie had finally ended as Toga looked slightly saddened the fact the movie had just ended. Her sadness was quickly replaced, though as she shifted her attention to her fellow villains.
"So. What do you think?" She asked, looking between her fellow villains with an excited look on her face. She was more than eager to see what her fellow villains thought about this movie.
"...It was brutal." Origami voiced her opinion on the movie, "I'm just glad it was over. These kind of movies aren't really my thing."
"People on the internet weren't lying when they were saying about how brutal this movie was." Mustard voiced his opinion right after Origami voiced hers as he set his eyes on Toga, "I can see why you out of all people would like this movie so much."
"The actor who played the clown did a great job, though." Gareth stated, "He was really expressive for a character who didn't say a single word the entire movie."
Origami nodded in agreement, "He was really creepy."
"Yeah." Mustard agreed, hiding his notebook out of everyone's view as he didn't want his fellow villain to notice he had started drawing a sketch of Art the Clown in it, "This is something I can agree on."
"I'm glad to see you're agreeing about Art the Clown. He truly is one of the best slasher killers ever made!" Toga smiled widely after hearing her fellow villains voice their opinion on Art the Clown, "I can't wait to show you the sequel. It's even better than the first one. Especially a certain scene with scissors! You will absolutely love in it!"
"Can we watch it some other time, though?" Origami asked Toga, "If that's okay with you, of course as you were the one who came up with an idea of this movie night in the first place. I feel we could use to watch some other type of a movie right now."
"Alright. It would be fair." Toga nodded as she once again looked between her fellow villains, "Any idea what what type of movie we'll watch now?"
"How about a comedy?" Origami suggested, sounding slightly uncertain about it as she didn't know how the others will react to her idea.
"Okay." Gareth nodded at her suggesting, liking it, "I could watch a comedy right now."
Mustard shrugged, "It's fine with that."
"Alright." Toga nodded and smiled at Origami, "Any idea what comedy we'll watch?"
Origami rubbed her cheek with an uncertain look on her face, "How about something from Monty Python?"
Days have passed and the summer break many people will remember for the rest for their lives had eventully came to an end. The students have returned to school, going back to doing usual stuff they would do at school, depending what kind of school they were attending. However, there was a certain group of teenagers who unlike many of their peers didn't went back to school.
Gareth, Origami, Toga and Mustard continued to lay low in their hideout even after the summer break ended, having not been called on any action or meeting by Shigaraki or Kurogiri. Days were mostly the same for them. All of their days went in peace as fortunely of them, they managed to keep the attention off of themselves and no one from the area suspected this house being a hideout of the four members of the League of Villains.
The rest of the League was doing a good job at laying low as well as there wasn't any sighting of them reported to the authorities since the League split up to lay low for a bit. The four teenagers knew about this from the TV as they checked the TV news every day to keep up to date with information regarding them and the rest of the League. The fact they weren't called by Shigaraki or Kurogiri to be informed about such situation occuring only reassured them the rest of the League had no problem with laying low.
Gareth stared at his reflection in the window in the kitchen, having went there to throw the now empty cup of the instant ramen into thrash. His hair was a little longer right now as the last time when he cut his hair was before Camino Ward. Before Camino Ward and before he split up from the rest of the League to lay low after the said incident, Kurogiri was the one who cut his hair after he was brought into the League.
He turned his attention away from the window as his phone started ringing. He reached into his pocket and pulled it out, seeing who it was. It was Kurogiri. He answered the call and put the phone close to his ear, "Hey, Kurogiri. Nice of you to call me. Why are you calling me? Has something happened?"
"Hello, Gareth. Nice to hear your voice again." Kurogiri responded, "Don't worry. Nothing happened. I'm calling you for another reason. Are you busy with something right now?"
"No. I'm doing anything right now. What is it?" Gareth wanted to know.
"Shigaraki Tomura told me to call you and bring you to him. He wants to talk with you about something in person." Kurogiri revealed why he had called Gareth now.
"Okay." Gareth nodded to himself, "You can tell him I'll come to talk with him right now."
"Very well. I'll form a portal within your hideout in a few minutes." Kurogiri answered.
"Alright." Gareth nodded in understanding, "I'll see you in a few minutes."
"Likewise." Kurogiri replied and ended the call, ending his conversation with Gareth.
Gareth put his phone away from his ear and put it back in his pocket. He walked out of the kitchen into the living room and saw Origami and Toga talking with each other about something and Mustard sketching something in his notebook. He stopped in the middle of the living room and quickly called out for them, wanting to inform them about his conversation with Kurogiri.
"Guys." He called out for them, causing them to stop what they were doing and shift their attention to him, "I just got a call from Kurogiri. Tomura-kun wants to talk with me about something. He will form a portal in our hideout to bring me to him in a a few minutes."
"Really?" Origami asked, "I wonder what he wants to talk with you about?"
"Does he have a job for you?" Mustard asked, "Makes sense. We've been laying low for a while now."
"Are we finally going to do something?" Toga asked, growing excited, "How exciting! I was getting bored sitting around and doing nothing for all this time."
"I don't know. I'm going to find out after Kurogiri will bring me to him. I'm just telling you about this so you won't be suprised by a portal forming in our hideout." Gareth replied as he turned around to look at the door to his room, "If Kurogiri will form a portal here and won't come out of my room, tell him I'll be getting myself ready to head out."
"Okay." Origami nodded at him.
Gareth walked over to the door to his room and pushed it open, before entering it. He quickly walked over to the wardrobe and opened it. He pulled out his vest and put it on himself. He closed his wardrobe and turned away from it, walking over to the cupboard where his mask was laying for all these days. He grabbed his mask and attached it to his shoulder.
He sat down on the bed and glanced down at the floor, setting his eyes on his shoes. He slid his feet into his shoes and got up from his bed, before making his way to the door to his room. He opened it and saw a portal of Kurogiri's mist in the middle of the living room, with Origami, Toga and Mustard staring at it. Origami, Toga and Mustard shifted their eyes from Kurogiri's portal to him as Gareth stepped closer to the portal.
The black haired boy stepped through the portal, making sure to tell Origami, Toga and Mustard he'll be back as soon as possible and found himself on the other side of it. He looked around himself, finding out the place he had just found himself in was an old warehouse. He looked ahead of himself a few seconds later as the portal behind was closed, the mist going back to Kurogiri's hands and saw Kurogiri standing in front of him.
"Kurogiri." Gareth smiled at the misty villain the moment he laid his eyes on him, "It's good to see you again. It's been a while."
"It's good to see you after all this time as well, Gareth. It's been a while since we saw each other in person indeed." Kurogiri replied, from the tone of his voice it sounded like he was a glad to see Gareth as Gareth was to see him. It didn't took the smokey villain long to notice Gareth's hair was a bit longer now, "Your hair is a little longer. Would you want me to cut it after you'll be done talking with Shigaraki Tomura?"
"Thanks, but it won't be needed." Gareth declined his offer, "I'm planning to outgrow my hair again since my identity as the Mask is now known to the media."
"Very well." Kurogiri nodded as he turned around to look behind him, "Let's go. I'll bring you to Shigaraki Tomura."
"Alright. Lead the way." Gareth nodded at Kurogiri as he walked over to him.
Kurogiri pushed himself into walk, making his way towards the part of the warehouse where Shigaraki was right now as Gareth followed him. As he continued to follow the misty villain throughout the warehouse, Gareth allowed himself to take a better look at the place Shigaraki and Kurogiri had been staying in since the League split up to lay low.
There wasn't much he could say about this hideout as nothing changed from the first impression he had on this place after Kurogiri brought him here a few moments ago. It was just a normal old warehouse where normal people wouldn't usually go. It must have been what made it a great place for Shigaraki and Kurogiri to lay low without drawing much attention to themselves.
"I brought Gareth, Shigaraki Tomura." Kurogiri said, having just entered one part of the warehouse. Gareth followed him into the place and laid his eyes on Shigaraki right after. The blue haired young man was sitting on a crate, his legs resting on the crate in front of him and didn't had his face-hand on, leaving his face visible.
Shigaraki looked over to the source of Kurogiri's voice and set his eyes on Gareth. A very small smile formed on his face as he set his eyes on his partner. It faded from his face before either Gareth or Kurogiri could notice it, though , "Gareth. It's been a while."
"Yeah. It's good to see you again, Tomura-kun." Gareth nodded at him as he smiled at him, reminding himself of the mental note he made a while ago, "Thanks for giving me that PSP. I've been using it a lot whenever I found some free time, even if I had only two games for it."
"I gave it to you to stop you from turning into a noob you would turn if you didn't have something to play on during all this time. Kicking your ass in Mortal Kombat or some other game would be less fun if you became a noob." Shigaraki replied.
"If you say so." Gareth let out a small chuckle, before looked at Shigaraki questioningly, "What did you wanted to talk about with me?"
"I have a job for you, Weaponsmith, Mustard and Toga." Shigaraki revealed, "We've been staying hidden for long enough and I think it's time to make our next move. I want you to infiltrate the hero provisional license exam."
A calmer chapter of Gareth, Origami, Toga and Mustard taking a break from the villanous stuff and hanging out in their hideout this time. The next chapter take us back into the events of the story as it will be about the hero provisional license exam infiltration
The prison break scene was done very well. It was great to see Lady Nagant in anime after all this time and I love how she is voiced Atsumi Tanezaki who also voices Anya from Spy X Family. Now I seriously want a MHA and Spy x Family crossover where Nagant meets Anya. That's be hilarious as hell.
We finally got a teaser for the new AOT episodes and I can say easily say everything looks great from the teaser. The Cour news aside, the Rumbling is looking incredible. The colors and visuals perfectly fit the horrors of the Rumbling.
