Kairyu alongside Team 7 walked in front of the gates of Konoha. They stopped at the main checkpoint and entrance to the village. They stood in front of Izumo and Kotetsu being checked in.
"So Kakashi, who's our guest?" Kotetsu was the one who asked first, knowing that Izumo was about to ask as well.
"My name is Uzumaki Kairyu. I'm here to speak to Hiruzen." Both the guards steeled themselves, knowing that anyone that would call the Hokage by first name is either a bigshot or ignorant.
But this man was an Uzumaki, and even with neither being sensors both could feel the pressure leaking from the man.
"Well, Uzumaki Kairyu, we'll make sure you see him within the hour. We understand you're a VIP, but it may take some time." Kairyu sighed.
"Let me do this the fast way then." Kairyu put his hands in a ram sign and flexed his chakra, not in a malicious way, but it was certainly powerful enough to alert every shinobi in the village.
Within minutes a group of 10 Anbu alongside the Hokage were standing in front of Kairyu.
"And who is causing such a disturbance in my village?" Hiruzen flexed his chakra just as intensely as Kairyu.
"Interesting, so you don't remember the attributes of my sister?" Hiruzen's eyes immediately widened before sucking back in his chakra.
"There's… one of you is alive?" Kairyu sighed before shaking his head.
"Naturally. Who do you think Jiraiya has been getting the bulk of his information on Kiri from?" Hiruzen rubbed his temples, seemingly aging as the Uzumaki spoke.
"I'm sorry, Uzumaki-san, I'll make sure you have a place to stay and an official meeting within-."
"No. That's not what I'm after."
Hiruzen furrowed his brow. Every traveler, regardless of origin, had to go through the process if no living clan member was-
"Oh… OH!" Hiruzen had a massive smile on his face. "I'll make sure both you and Naruto get a home suitable for the remnants of the Uzumaki along with an official clan meeting, reintroducing the Uzumaki clan to the mainstream." Kairyu smiled and nodded before looking back at a gaping team seven.
"Well." Kairyu gave a small chuckle. "I'm hungry, let's go get something to eat."
Naruto was the first to step up, tackling the man with a smile on his face.
"I know a place, Uncle Kairyu-tebayyo!" Naruto froze before suppressing the growing blush on his face. Kairyu gave a belly laugh before hoisting Naruto on his shoulders.
"O-OI!"
"Oh come on! Don't lie and say this isn't awesome!"
"..."
"That's what I thought. Lead the way, Naruto!" Kakashi smiled underneath his mask before putting a hand on both Sakura and Sasuke's shoulder.
"Come on, you two. Let's tag along." Sasuke looks at the duo in front of them before praying his eyes away.
Naruto finally had someone other than them…
Sasuke was glad.
"Nah, they should have some time alone… OI! Naruto!"
Naruto and Kairyu look behind to look at Sasuke.
"We're going to talk to the Hokage about the mission, why don't you and your uncle go to Ichiraku! We'll catch up tomorrow!" Kairyu smiled at the boy.
'I've seen that look… I'll be sure to talk to him tomorrow.'
"Sure thing! See you all tomorrow!" Naruto waved at his team before Kairyu started walking.
"You have a good team." Naruto smiled as he gave his uncle directions.
"Yeah, you wouldn't believe just how much our first C-Rank mission changed the team. It was super messed up. Our client lied to us, because the country was too poor to afford the A-Rank mission they needed."
"Oh! I thought the bridge name was a coincidence, guess not."
"Bridge? When we left the old man had just finished the bridge."
"Yep! Shortly after you all left, the bridge was named the 'Great Naruto Bridge'! Look at you go, already having landmarks named after you." Naruto chuckled before rubbing the back of his head.
"I didn't do much honestly, Kakashi-sensei did most of the work against Zabuza with it taking both myself and Sasuke to take down his apprentice."
"I heard that, that was good work there, that Haku fella was around the level of a Jonin to be able to hang around Zabuza. Even managed to hide the fact he was Yuki from Kiri before escaping." Naruto nodded.
"He told me about that, what kind of village sanctions the murder of whole clans?"
Elsewhere, in a dark musty room surrounded by ROOT, a man covered in bandages sneezed.
"The kind of village that needs change. Don't you worry one bit, Naruto. Kiri will be under the management of someone else soon enough." Naruto sighed.
"I heard of this kinda thing. A rebellion right?" Kairyu nodded.
"That's right. Kiri is in the middle of a civil war with those that want the bloodshed to end, and those that don't. Funnily, the rebels are less radical, it's not something we often see in the elemental nations. A riot perhaps, or some kind of coup, but never a full scale rebellion."
Naruto put a hand on his chin.
"If that's the case, then maybe it wasn't natural?" Kairyu froze.
"Naruto, a word of advice. Never insinuate things like that in public spaces. It's a one way trip to a kunai in your throat while you sleep." Naruto shuddered.
"Thanks, Uncle Kairyu, I wouldn't have known if you didn't tell me…" Naruto rubbed the back of his head, a forced smile on his face.
The two walk into Ichiraku and order their meals, Naruto's smile finally genuine at the shocked face of Teuchi.
"Naruto, don't you worry about a thing. Your uncle here will teach you everything you need to know. When you master what I have to teach you, I'll even give you a gift." Naruto had stars in his eyes, suppressing the urge to tackle his uncle in a hug.
"Thanks! Uncle Kairyu!"
'Christ, just how little common sense does he have? I know he hasn't been a shinobi for long, but even other rookies are better than this…'
"Say…" Kairyu was drawn from his pondering by the slowly spoken words from the old ramen man.
"What's going on? You look like you've seen a ghost!" Naruto spoke first.
"He may as well have, I look just like Kushina, your mother." Teuchi fell over himself in shock.
"Naruto is Kushi's boy!?" Both Teuchi and a newly arrived Ayame shouted.
"Yep! I'm his Uncle by the way, my name's Kairyu!"
"I'm Teuchi, and this is Ayame… goodness, you look exactly like her… now that I think about it, Naruto's face is pretty round just like her's…"
Teuchi had a slightly vacant look on his face before shaking his head lightly. "Anything you want specifically?"
"Just get me whatever Kushina got, make sure Naruto eats as much as he wants too." Teuchi smiled and began to work.
Naruto and Kairyu sat in silence before getting their food.
"Say, Naruto." Naruto looked at his uncle, stopping mid slurp. "When you were in the academy, did it seem they were holding out on you?" Naruto gave a small nod.
"Yeah, after about a year of learning a bunch of nothing, I gave up. I started skipping class to get better my own way. It wasn't until my final year that my Iruka-sensei gave me tutoring." Kairyu sighed.
"Well, that explains a few things I've noticed. Naruto, did Iruka teach you about what you know of the Uzumaki?" Naruto shook his head.
"No, Hokage-jiji did! He taught me everything I know about the rest of the world, but he only had about a week. He's Hokage after all." Kairyu nodded.
"I see… The first thing I'll teach you is the history of Hi no Kunai, then moving on to Old Uzu." Naruto nodded. "I'll start teaching you after seeing what your sensei does for your accelerated training." Naruto smiled and with one last nod, the two continued eating.
"So, do you have many friends outside of your team?" Naruto nodded his head.
"Yeah! There's Shikamaru, he's a bit lazy but he cares a lot and works really hard if he has to-."
'A Nara, interesting that he's already in cahoots with clan heirs.'
"Choji's a little chubby, but he always eats ramen with me if I ask-."
'An Akimichi heir hanging around the Nara heir makes sense.'
"Hinata is really nice to me, but she gets all red when I'm around-."
'Oh god he's denser than his mother…'
"She has really pretty lavender eyes too-!"
'And of course his admirer is a Hyuuga, what's next, he's in cahoots with every clan in Konoha?'
"Kiba's brash, but he cares a lot about the people around him. He said his mom told him to 'take care of his pack' or something. Shino and I relate to being avoided, for some reason, people don't like his bugs. Ino and I aren't really friends, but we don't hate each other either…"
'Of course he is… why wouldn't the little ball of sunshine be everyone's friend.'
"OH! There's also Lee!"
'Oh, this kid sounds normal.'
"He's a little goofy, he's got a bowl cut and super bushy brows, and I'm pretty sure he likes green spandex like I like orange! But he's super strong! Like- WAY stronger than me! He's only got Taijutsu so his sensei, who also uses almost nothing but Taijutsu, trained him to be super strong!"
'So much for normal, so that Gai kid basically adopted an orphan and taught him everything he knows… wow.'
"You train with many of them?"
"I train with Lee from time to time, but we've been too busy with missions to intensely train. We gotta get our rest in, after all."
"I'm glad you know moderation already." Naruto nodded rapidly.
"Yeah! Although during that Wave mission, I kind of just… disregarded everything. That Haku guy was right in front of me and I couldn't recognise him when we fought next time until I saw his face."
"It happens sometimes. You're lucky though, if it wasn't for your over abundance of chakra, you'd have some pretty crazy chakra exhaustion."
"I guess Sasuke must have some pretty crazy chakra too, he was just a little less eager than I was, but still went really hard!"
"I'm sure bud…" 'He's probably used to that level of exhaustion.'
"Yeah. He sure kept me going, couldn't the bastard get ahead of me!"
"Pfft!"
"OI! What's so funny!"
"You mean you need to catch up?"
"Well… yeah." Naruto looked down at his empty bowl.
"No need to worry, soon enough he'll be the one having to keep up."
"You mean it?!" Naruto had a beaming look on his face.
"Of course! You'll need to be focused on quite a lot of things, but I'll do what I can to make it digestible for you." Naruto rubbed the back of his head, a goofy grin on his face.
"Thanks! Uncle Kairyu! When do you want to start?"
"For the history part, very soon. I'll probably rope the rest of the active genin into it as well. It doesn't do well for Konoha to forget its old ally." Naruto gave a nod. "In the meantime, you should request a break from missions in order to train with your team."
"I was thinking something like that too… I just don't know how my teammates will take it. I don't want them to think I'm calling us weak or something."
"Not weak, just under tapped. The three of you need to step back and learn some techniques, maybe gain some more skill. Then the three of you will be a proper Chunin level team. I could tell from the rumors in waves, that at the very least, you and Sasuke are strong enough to put your sights on Chunin."
Naruto sighed. "No, not yet. I'm not even close to strong enough for that."
It was Kairyu's turn to sigh. "No, you're strong enough, you just need to train to use that strength properly. The amount of chakra you have allows your chakra control to be subpar without much of an issue. If you learn water walking, your chakra control will be more than astute enough to use most jutsu."
"Well yeah, but I only know the Shadow Clone Jutsu and Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu…"
"Only-?! Kid those techniques are above the heads of most Jonin, with the Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu being forbidden because even kage level chakra has trouble with it. Only Uzumaki and Jinchuuriki can use it properly. Not to mention you specifically can use them to train faster."
"What?"
"The memory transfer. You can abuse it."
"The memory what now?"
"Oh my God you're joking. Tell me someone taught you those jutsu and you didn't just pick them up."
"Well… it's a long story…"
"You didn't."
"I may or may not have been tricked into stealing the forbidden scroll…"
"Did… did you learn anything else?"
"No, I just wanted to learn one technique so I could pass a 'graduation test'." The words were coated with malice as he spoke them.
"So… you managed to sneak past the Hokage and his ANBU, steal one of the most precious artifacts of this village, and learn one of the techniques in said artifacts, all in a single night with little to no planning?"
"Well, when you say it like that it makes me sound pretty awesome!"
"Damn right it's awesome! It took your mother a week to master the Shadow Clone, and she had better chakra control equal to that of an average genin. Here you are, learning its upgraded version in a single night, with shinobi on your ass too!"
"Well, I kind of cheated…"
"How so?"
"I kinda developed a jutsu to knock out strong dudes, because every strong dude I've met was a massive perv!"
"You made a jutsu!?"
"Yeah, you want to see?"
"Sure-!"
"Hold on, let me turn around." Teuchi was the one who spoke, Ayame was already in the other room, fuming.
"Sexy Jutsu!"
Naruto transformed into a nude woman, created in his own image, in a suggestive pose.
Kairyu had an amused look on his face.
"Surely you have a technique for the opposite side of things?"
"Of course."
Kairyu just about coughed up a lung when Naruto transformed into a perfect version of his older self, also nude in a similar suggestive pose.
"Oh god, go back to normal!"
Naruto was surrounded by a plume of smoke before giving his Uncle a goofy grin.
"Naruto, for the love of everything good and holy, don't model the male transformation after yourself. Model it after literally anyone else, just not yourself!"
"Why? Is it not effective?"
"Not that, it'll work just as well as the other one, the only problem is that then people will have an eye on you for when you get older. Do you seriously want a horde of people looking to get their rocks off in a decade following you around?"
Naruto paled, thinking of Sasuke's horde.
"Oh god, what have I done?"
"It's alright, just model the jutsu after… your sensei! That should work."
"Excuse me, you two." Kairyu and Naruto look behind them to see Hiruzen, fully dressed in his Hokage garbs. "We have a home ready for you both."
