Green. Green here, green there, green way over there. Is there a point in time where people start to wonder when one color is too much? I like green as much as the next guy, but this much green was like a piss poor attempt at trying to be special only to end up looking stupid.
"DODGE!" A masculine voice shouted and I looked over to see a ki blast heading my way.
*BOOM*
"Argh!"
My body tumbled back from the explosion, I regained my footing and sent a barrage of ki blasts back, my opponent slapped them away like the fodder they were, a frustrated growl escaping his lip.
"This isn't about you attacking, it's about- You. Learning. How. To. Dodge!"
"UWAH!"
—
"Wake up!"
"Ah!" My eyes shot open, I jumped to my feet and then took a couple of careful steps backward. My teacher looked at me, completely unimpressed.
"You're a mess." He declared, and I resisted the urge to call him very unpleasant names. His gaze grew a bit softer as he sighed. "Why did you even ask for training? You're from the dragon clan, fighting shouldn't be something you need to worry about."
I dusted myself off as I looked at him with a deadpan.
"Tch, wipe that look off your face." He ordered, but my deadpan deepened. How the hell was I supposed to tell him that I wanted to train because I was a soul from another multiverse entirely with the memories of this multiverse's future? No, a better question would be: why would he believe me?
"Stronger," I answered back in the Namekian language. "I want to be stronger."
"That doesn't answer my question." He crossed his arms.
"It does, you just need to look deeper."
"You're not, Lord Guru." He chastised. "Stop trying to be deep."
"I am not Lord Guru, I aim to be better," I deadpanned again.
Nail glared at me, thoroughly wiping the look off my face. He jumped up, taking to the air and I followed behind him.
Reincarnated in the Dragon Ball multiverse, gotta say, completely unexpected. Let's just avoid talking about how I felt when I hatched from the egg to see a big green fucking alien and how much I screamed.
At least Guru seemed very interested in my reaction and took the time to foster me personally instead of handing me off to any of the village elders. Then his interest grew when he realized the intelligence I held at such a young age, so he asked me what I wanted in life.
My answer was highly motivated by the multiverse I was in the knowledge of the existing monsters. I told him I wanted to be strong, the strongest.
Initially, he didn't like the answer, but I assumed he trusted me enough. He did get Nail to train me after all, and after a year of life, I'm proud to say I'm the strongest Namekian in my age group.
…Not that that's saying much.
I don't even know my power level, but I do know it's pretty low, at least lower than most of the adults.
Then again…I'm one year old…and a dragon clan Namekian. I'm not supposed to be strong.
We touched down at Guru's house. Nail walked in and I followed closely behind.
"Lord Guru." Nail bowed, and I did the same.
"Nail." Guru smiled at his older child before turning his head to me. "Lyre."
"Are you well today, Lord Guru?" I asked with genuine concern, he had been getting worse recently. I didn't know how far we were from Frieza's invasion of Namek, but his declining health didn't speak well of the timeline.
"I am, my child. I hope your training with your brother went well?"
"...I-It was something," I said nervously and earned a slap on the back of my head for my troubles.
"He lacks the basic capabilities for combat, Lord Guru. I ask you to reconsider my role as his teacher. He is of the Dragon Clan, it is rare for us to produce such Namekians, perhaps it would be better if we sent him off to Moori for training in the mystic arts?" Nail bowed his head lower.
"Hm, what do you wish to do, Lyre?"
Well, if Nail is gonna ditch me…
"I wish to use the dragon balls."
"You dare!" Nail shouted, looking at me like I had lost my mind.
"Nail." Guru interrupted, Nail's eyes widening.
"Lord Guru, the dragon balls are our most sacred treasure, you know that more than any of us! I ask that you think this through!"
"I intended to, but your talking has been rather taxing on the brain." Guru chuckled, Nail blushed, looking to the ground. Guru's gaze met mine, his eyes opening to reveal eyes that surely held a great deal of power in his prime. "If I may ask, Lyre, why do you wish to use my dragon balls? You know our rules of the dragon balls do you not?"
I bowed just a bit lower. Asking for such a thing was one of the worst things a Namekian could do, it screamed that we wished to betray the laws of our home planet by wishing for something that would benefit oneself.
"I had a vision, Lord Guru."
Guru raised an eyebrow at that. "Oh, is that what you're calling it? Pray tell, what was this vision?" I froze at his words. Why did he phrase it like that?
"I saw a beast, an alien of unknown origin on our planet, slaughtering our people and thriving in their guts. I wish to acquire the dragon balls to gain the strength to combat this threat." I explained, my eyes staring at the ground.
Silence permeated, neither Nail nor I dared to speak up and interrupt our father's decision.
"Nail, leave us," Guru ordered after minutes of peaceful quiet. Nail looked up, completely taken aback. He looked at me, a glare replacing his bewilderment as he walked out of the house. Guru waited until he flew away, far enough to be out of earshot. "Why don't we talk then, my youngest?"
"Yes, Lord Guru."
"I will not go into your past, I will tell you that from the moment you were born, and reacted as you had, I have known of your past life." He explained.
My body froze. I had suspected such a thing to be a possibility, but I had hoped it wasn't true.
"My Lord-"
He held up a hand, stopping me. "You needn't come up with an explanation for it, we both don't understand what caused this, but there must be a reason for it, everything happens for a reason, for better or for worse."
I nodded slowly at his words. "D-Did you see everything?"
"Everything was blurry. Only when I focused on the world we find ourselves in could I see clearly." He explained and I relaxed a bit. Honestly in the entire Dragon Ball multiverse Guru was the one person I wouldn't mind knowing about my past life, but that still didn't mean I wanted him to know. "I know there is truth in your words, the galactic tyrant, Frieza will emerge one day, years from now."
Years? "Do you know how long exactly?"
"I have a new batch of children every five years. Considering there were some younglings in your memories, anywhere between four to nine years from now."
That was a huge margin of error. It could be four years, or it could be up to five years after that, there wasn't a good pinpoint we had yet.
We needed more information.
"Earth," Guru spoke as if reading my thoughts. "Knowing the situation on Earth could give foresight into the timeline of our planet's destruction."
I nodded. That much was true. If we knew what was going on over on Earth, I could at least have a better prediction of when Frieza would attack.
"Katas' son is there, acting as the guardian of Earth. It was good to see him through the years, although I am saddened by his inevitable demise, it will happen to all of us, no use in these foolish feelings of mine." Guru smiled sadly.
"There is nothing wrong with feeling sadness for the loss of someone close, Lord Guru."
Guru chuckled at my words. "I never thought I'd see the day one of my children would console me. It is greatly appreciated Lyre."
I bowed once more to the giant Namekian.
"Your requested usage of the dragon balls has been granted." He said suddenly, forcing me to snap my head up in surprise. "Why so surprised? Did you think I would just sit back and let our planet be destroyed by one who wasn't properly disciplined?" Guru asked, his chuckle growing into laughter before a loud painful coughing fit began.
I rushed to his side but was stopped by a wave of his hand. He continued to cough for half a minute before he relaxed.
"I will live, at least until I see the tyrant defeated, worry not." He consoled me, and I couldn't help the pang in my heart from his words. "Come, Lyre, let me unlock your potential."
I stepped forward, letting him drop his hand on my head. "Such deep power within you, my child. I hope you can grow to be the strongest of us all." Then his energy was forced into me. It felt like he opened a dam within my body as white ki shined around me. The rush of power was incredible! I didn't know just how powerful I was, but the rush was screaming at me to check.
"Calm, son." Guru scolded lightly. I dropped my flowing ki and chuckled embarrassedly.
"Sorry, Lord Guru, I've just never felt so powerful before."
"It is understandable. Take this and go, gather the dragon balls from the seven villages." He took off his bracelet and handed it to me. He likely intended for me to use it as a sort of allowance to use the dragon balls for personal reasons. I put it around my neck and bowed.
"Thank you, Lord Guru, I vow to help our planet avoid the terrible fate set in store for us."
"I believe in you, my child, now go and make our race proud!"

Author Note: New story! I honestly planned to write a DB fic a long time ago but wanted to hold off on it until I was better at writing. I don't think I've ever seen a Namekian SI, but knowing the community, there's probably one out there. For all the QQ readers who saw the Harem tag and were like "How?" Well, that question will be answered in the next chapter.
This fic will be partially crack, but then again wasn't most of Dragon Ball and Super? I will give the DBZA personas to the people who relate to their canon counterparts. Piccolo, Bulma, Krillin, Yamcha, Roshi, etc. If they didn't act like it in canon, they wouldn't get their abridged personalities. Like Guru was nothing like his canon counterpart so I just made it a normal Guru.
Genderbent Goku and Vegeta, because that seems to be a trend in my stories now, deal with it or drop it, the choice is yours honestly.
Freiza will be gender-bent as well…won't say much else there.
