Chapter 35 ~ Kraken Pt.1
Kraken was pleased at the results of his spell as the oceanline rose up, building up into an ever-growing Tidal Wave that could rip an entire city from the ground and send it rippling through the waters till each and every destroyed life and piece of the city was drifting down to a watery grave…
"The boy is distracted, the girls have him away, and thanks to the fools, NOTHING will stop the inevitable flooding of Kabukicho, and not only will the lives of those skimpy sluts be cut short, but the Keybearer's Halo will be my mistress's reward!" The Kraken cheered as he added the finishing touches on the spell…
Back in the city, Sora managed to catch-up to the eccentric Yumi, who was still surprised she kissed the hero. Sora then asked, "WAIT A SECOND, YUMI! Look, something's going on-!" Yumi angrily looked at Sora and asked, "Just what do you WANT from me next?! Let's just say you won the Trial and go back to our homes already!" Sora however said, "No-no, I get that I won the trial, it's just…well…"
At that instant, Yumi noticed the creeping rising water touching her and Sora's ankles…
The sound of water was rising, and as Sora and Yumi looked, they saw the approaching, and ever growing Tidal Wave, looking closer to the city.
"...PLEASE tell me your Winter Kekkai is shielding all of Kabukicho?" Sora asked. Yumi however said, "A fraction-top of the Kekkai is casting its winter spell, but…the Kekkai over a distinctive location is only about 5 walls. 4 surrounding, one above our heads…this forced tsunami…it has enough force to break a single magician's power. After all, one mortal body can't survive being hit by a water mass that could flatten a herd of elephants in seconds…"
Sora then asked, "OK, so we're all drowning by 12pm."
Yumi however said, "Not necessarily, the Tidal Wave, it's an enchantment." Sora then asked, "Enchanted? So…so that wave isn't supposed to be that big?" Yumi answered, "CORRECTION: It isn't supposed to BE. All we need to do is find the sorcerer trying to turn Kabukicho into an aquarium. With any luck, defeating such a weaver of magic can restore the waterbed, and settle the water back to normal."
Sora gave Yumi the Keyblade and said, "You can use it. The Keyblade's magic should increase yours if your heart's strong enough. Believe me, I saw Riku give a Keyblade to Kairi, and it stayed with her. She wasn't a swordswoman, but it stuck with her with every adventure she was on…I know in some form, holding this Keyblade can grant you your own someday." Sora placed the Keyblade in Yumi's hands, still, Yumi was curious, "You'd give me your only method to fight? If anything, you need the Key more than I need the support-."
Sora shook his head and said, "By the time I find this creep, your use of the Keyblade will be finished. Do what you can, protect the city, weaken the Giant Wave, whatever, I am trusting you and the Gessen Academy students to handle the same job I was given, and with this, you can do it! I believe in you as much as I do Hanzo's students."
Yumi sighed and took the Keyblade while saying, "You can take it back when you need it. I won't be using much of it's power…just take it back once you find whoever is doing this. Don't make my keeping of your weapon be the reason you return to the realm of the dead." Sora nodded and said, "Kiriya's been a tough teacher. Thanks to him, I learned how to handle a fist fight…I'll be fine without the Keyblade."
With that, Sora ran off to find the one casting the spell, while Yumi held the Keyblade with curiosity while her fellow ninjas appeared behind her.
Shiki then asked, "A man won a Trial of the Heart after several years…guess that makes him the Husband to our Yumi here."
Yumi angrily leered at Shiki while Minori cheered, "YUMI'S HUSBAND HAS FINALLY BEEN FOUND, YAY!" Murakumo then said, "This is just…SO great! I got plenty of writing material down already between a man and a woman! But now with Yumi and the Keybearer, things might get a little spicy for my material!" Yozakura however said, "Well, trials aside, I don't think Sora has marriage in mind when it comes to the Kunoichi of our world…he seems…focused on other women at the moment…or at least one-."
"Kairi." Yumi guessed.
While Sora reached the rooftop of one of the buildings, he noticed a peculiar and large-cloaked creature, emitting a dark aura while waving it's arms in the air…
"Well-well-well, looks like I found our 'Enchanting Sorcerer'." Sora said as he cracked his knuckles…
Back with the caster himself, the Kraken cheered as the wave came even closer by saying, "Just a few minutes now, and this little piece of Japan will be rendered off the face of the Earth! DO I HEAR 'ATLANTIS', LADIES AND GENTLEMEN?!"
"YOU'LL BE HEARING SOMETHING, ALRIGHT!"
Kraken's face was instantly met with a raw kick between the eyes as Sora sent him toppelling over to the next building through a window!
Sora jumped in after him while the Kraken shook his tentacle in iron-fisted rage while swearing, "KEYBLADE BRAT! Distraction on your end WILL NOT halt the Tsunami!" Sora then said, "I'm not here to distract you, 'Squidward'. I was summoned for one reason, or did you forget who kicked Marilith's butt already?" Kraken laughed and said, "You can't be serious! It took 4 great warriors to defeat me! You are ONE. You are all alone." Sora then took a fighting stance and said, "If you knew anything about me, you'd know I'm never alone."
Kraken swung his tentacles like a whip, but Sora's guard made the Kraken wonder, "An impressive endurance for such a whelp, but a legend rarely changes its lore. Where is your Keyblade, boy?" Sora answered, "Do I REALLY need it to defeat you? You're not a Heartless, you're just a caped octopus with a big mouth."
"THIS CAPE WAS ENTRUSTED TO ME BY LORD GARLAND DURING THE GREAT SIEGE! YOU. WILL. RESPECT ME!"
The Kraken then reached out, trying to grab Sora, but the training at Hanzo Academy increased Sora's speed and flexibility, giving him a boost in avoiding the enemy!
Frustrated, the Kraken took a deep breath…
…and SPAT in Sora's direction!
"...I know octopuses like to spew ink, but still, isn't this…kind of an insult on your end? You've cast a spell to wash away a large city, and in the end…tentacles and ink. THAT'S your method to beat me?" Sora asked. Kraken however smiled and explained, "Ah, but there is ANOTHER reason I was granted this cape. It was because I was recognized for my Magic power. This cape resembles my Title as a Supreme Sorcerer! Despite a mastery of water sorcery, I sought out more, even risking 57 of my grand tentacles to BUILD on a resistance to electricity, even mastering the element! And now, here I stand, as Kraken: Master of Storms…and the Bringer of Black."
Sora was rather disturbed by Kraken's proclamation, "Bringer…of Black? What are you-?"
Suddenly, fumes poured from the spit mark from the Kraken, and began to envelope the Keybearer, while Kraken laughed menacingly…
After the fumes dispersed, Sora noticed something shocking…
Kraken then explained, "That 'Spit' I released onto your shirt was my Ink Spell. As you say, the Octopi have an impulse to release our black ink. MY Ink has a special ailment, rendering my enemies BLIND! The spell is permanent when it is applied to the eyes, you're lucky my aim was bad, but you'll be dead before my spell wears off."
Sora rubbed as best he could, but his eyes, true to Kraken's explanation, were blinded and forced him to see nothing but Darkness! Sora then said, "I guess you ARE the 'Bringer of Black'...to an extent. Still, this fight's just beginning." Sora retook his stance while Kraken shook his head and said, "Ignorance is as Bliss as Youth is wasted on the Young. Admit my victory, make this acknowledgement, and I promise your loved ones will be SPARED knowledge of your death. I may even be courteous enough to let them join you in this world."
Sora instead said, "Don't you ever Shut Up?" Kraken roared as he charged at Sora while saying, "I WILL HAVE YOUR HEAD FOR THIS INSO-oh no." In seconds, Sora threw a powerful punch at Kraken's face, breaking several teeth away while sending the proud sorcerer through a wall! The Kraken leapt back into the building and snarled, "Blind Fool, you'll DIE drowning by the tentacles of the Kraken!"
Elsewhere, Yumi was using her magic to try and weaken the Tidal Wave the Kraken summoned…
Yumi focused her magic through the Keyblade, using it's amazing power to actually make the wave smaller!
Yumi then looked at the Keyblade and smiled, "...I cursed you for your weapon, for a traitor who stole-...yet you would still give me your weapon?"
Shiki then said, "He lent a complete stranger his light…like the old and real Keyblade Wielders from Grampa's stories. Master Kurokage would've loved to meet him. Hell, I think a dork like Sora would be great for you!" Yumi shook her head and said, "He will dismiss me. His heart belongs to another…I will NOT waste my time just because he won the Trial-." Minori then said, "DON'T FORGET, YOZAKURA LIKES 'EM TOO!" As Yozakura glared Minori away, Shiki advised, "But HE won the Trial…no one has won in 1300 years, this HAS to mean something!" Yumi shook her head and said, "...for tradition, it's something…but this boy, to him, it means a responsibility he is not ready for."
Shiki then put her hands on Yumi's shoulders and said, "Yumi…he needs you to tell him…YOU need to tell him. Or else the both of you will never be honest with each other again. Let your Husband know his Wife wants to care for him and FIGHT by his side."
Yumi looked over at the Tidal Wave, sensing a dark aura while hearing an evil laughter echoing across the city…
Looking at the Keyblade, Yumi clenched it tightly as she worried for Sora…
