It is the last year of the academy and everyone has grown. William towers over his peers by a good foot and he is broader of shoulder as well. His hair is kept short and the clothing he wears looks the same. He is joined by a man a few inches above the norm named Sam and his friend jake. Jake is shorter than average but he is twice as mean.
"Man i can't wait to be an actual ninja! It's such bullshit that we have to wait till we are sixteen. Didnt kids graduate at twelve a couple years ago?" Sam exclaims. His long orange hair hangs to mid back and he is dressed in vibrant reds and golds. He is wearing a short sleeve shirt and nothing over it despite the autumn chill.
"Graduation age has indeed increased. However it is due to our current state of peace. When we were participating in wars, the age dropped to focus on quantity over quality. The peace that we are currently experiencing has allowed our village to focus on the quality of its ninja versus the quantity. We don't need as many bodies to throw at our enemies as we did during war times." William rumbles. His voice is much deeper than when he started the academy and his only change aside from height.
"Really?! Man, I kinda wish we were at war! Then we wouldnt have to spend so long in a boring fucking academy!" Sam groans.
A long haired boy in loose robes turns to glare at Sam with his blood red eyes. The boy sneers before speaking.
"Dumbass, what have I told you? By having longer to train we have more time to get those cool techniques you're always going on about.'' Jake snaps.
A rumbling chuckle rolls out of William as Sam pouts. The conversation is interrupted by the teacher walking in. (for anyone wondering. The outfits/looks are from shippuden. They are in the same class as Naruto as well.) The teacher greets everyone and they all greet him before he does roll call.
After roll call they are all taken outside for sparring to decide their final grades. The teacher reads from a clipboard and ponders his life choice with internal tears. He used to be a badass ninja! Kicking ass and sleeping with the hottest girls! Now he teaches teenagers and has a plain looking girlfriend! What happened to you man?! The ninja wails this in his mind.
A boy named Sasuke uchiha is called up and he faces off against a boy named kiba inuzuka. Sasuke has pale skin and royal features that contrast beautifully against his long dark hair. He is wearing a white robe that is open at the chest and held closed at the hips with a blue sash emblazoned with his clan symbol. Sasuke smirks coldly as he falls into the stance for his clan fighting style. A close combat form called the interceptor fist, designed around using the clan eyes called the sharingan. By using the predictive capabilities of their eyes the uchiha clan fighting style is based around dodging enemy attacks before unleashing brutal counters. The sharingan is hailed as one of the three great dojutsu, eye techniques, and has the ability to perfectly remember anything it sees and this includes jutsu. It is rumored that experienced uchiha have copied thousands of techniques and their clan jutsu archives rival the village library in size.
Kiba snarls and bares his teeth as his fingernails lengthen into claws while his partner growls threateningly. The inuzuka clan is renowned for their usage of ninja dogs. The inuzuka have an arsenal of techniques that revolve around tag teaming enemies with their dogs and wearing them down with furious attacks. The clan is known for their feral mindsets and some are rumored to be capable of commanding wild dogs to use for pack tactics in combat. Kiba is accompanied by a horse sized dog that has large fangs that go well with his bulky build. All power and ferocity, no subtlety in that pair.
The boys bow before they begin the fight. Kiba rushes at Sasuke before furiously clawing at the pale skinned teen. Sasuke weaves through the hits with ease and launches brutal counters that make some spectators wince at the areas being targeted. Kidneys are a frequent target, William notes. The fighters each leap back and kiba barks an order to his dog that has the canine rushing their opponent. Sasuke leaps over the dog and his hands form several seals before unleashing another clan favorite technique. Uchihas are typically fire natured and thus they rely on fire techniques. Most people avoid getting into a fire match with uchiha because the red eyed clan will most likely win. Sasuke spits a ball of fire at kiba and the boy dodges before rushing back into close combat.
Another flurry of blows is exchanged before both fighters leap apart. Kiba flicks his wrist and sends a handful of shuriken, small sharp throwing stars, at Sasuke as the pale boy weaves more hand signs and spits out a wave of flame that rushes kiba with a crackling inferno. The feral boy leaps over the blaze and is intercepted by sasuke. The pale boy slams his fists and feet into kiba and the feral boy falls to the ground with a thud. He is out cold. Sasuke is declared the winner and kiba is dragged off the field by his partner who sits next to the boy and licks his face with worried whining.
The next fight is unremarkable. Kiba wakes up feeling better than earlier. He shakes his head to clear it and looks up at the sound of buzzing. Bees lift off his body and buzz back to William before crawling into his clothing as the large boy turns to face the fight. Kiba grins and walks over to William with his dog at his heels.
"Hey. Thanks for the pick me up." Kiba says after the tall boy turns to face him.
"No problem." William replies before turning back to the fight.
Kiba grins and heads over to a tree to relax as the fight ends. The next fight is called. Jake hyuuga vs naruto uzumaki.
Jake walks calmly onto the field and falls into his modified clan stance. The hyuuga are usually born with an eye capable of seeing your chakra network and have created a fighting style called the gentle fist. By focusing chakra to the tips of their fingers the hyuuga clan is able to close off your chakra network and subdue their opponents. Jake however was born with a mutation. Instead of the usual pale eyes of his clan, his eyes are blood red and his sight is thus different. He can see your circulatory system and focuses his attacks on causing blood clots or reversing the flow of your blood. This allows him to achieve a similar effect to the clans fighting style but he also learned medical jutsu to reverse the effects of his attacks. Can't go around killing people by clogging their veins from every practice fight now can he? Jake's veins bulge near his eyes as he activates his eyes.
Naruto struts onto the field and raises his fists. He is clad in a bright orange jumpsuit that hurts the eyes from its bright hue. While Sam wears muted autumn colors and blends with foliage, naruto sticks out like a beacon from his bright clothing. Naruto smirks and charges at Jake with a yell.
Jake flows around naruto like water and his hands fly as naruto is pelted with jabs. Jake's attacks are graceful and appear to be a dance as he batters naruto. The orange clad boy cries out in pain as he is pummeled. The boy falls to the ground with a thud and jakes hands glow green as he quickly fixes the damage he caused.
Naruto is dragged off the field by a medic and the next fight is called. William aburame vs choji akimichi.
William calmly walks into the field and stands with his hands in the pockets of his jacket. Choji walks out and nervously swallows his chips. Choji is a very heavy set boy and is clad in red samurai armor. Choji is a member of the akimichi clan, a clan that converts fat to chakra to use in powerful attacks. Akimichi attacks are focused around sweeping hits that make use of their jutsu to increase the size of their limbs. The akimichi are crowd control experts from their large body jutsu and sweeping blows capable of crushing opponents.
The boy's bow and choji rapidly expands his arm before swinging at william. The blow cuts through the tall boy and William falls apart into a mass of bees that crawl up choji's limb. The heavy set boy swats at the insects as William emerges from the tree above the ring. William raises his arms and bees swarm out of his sleeves before choji is wrapped in a layer of insects. There is a burst of chakra and choji swells into a ball of flesh that rolls at william. The heavily covered boy leaps over the orb of fleshy death as his insects continue to swarm his foe. Choji reverts to normal and falls to the ground with a groan. The insects lift off his body and return to william before he walks back to his place in the group of students. Choji is taken to the infirmary for chakra exhaustion as William nods to his friends. The next fight is Sam versus a pale boy named sai.
Both bow and sam forms hand seals before his cheeks bulge and he spits out a wave of lava. The pale boy whips out a scroll and quickly draws on it before he forms a hand seal. Ink rises from the page and forms a tiger that leaps over the lava and attacks Sam as sai follows his creation. Sai is dressed in black leather and his midriff is exposed. This clothing choice causes him to get hit in the belly and the pale boy winces from the drop of lava that burns his stomach. Sam leaps back and spits out a ball of lava before following it up with a wall of lava that blocks the ink snake sai releases from his scroll. Sai jumps back and draws something before it is revealed. A large bird forms from ink and sai leaps on it before the avian flies above the molten rock. Sam looks around for his opponent after his lava wall falls to the ground. He spots the shadow of the sai's bird and looks up.
"The fuck?! You can fly?" Sam exclaims.
"No. I am riding my bird. Dickless." Sai replies with a wide fake smile.
"The fuck did you call me?1"Sam roars as his hands fly though seals.
Sam spews lava and the molten rock forms into a chinese dragon that roars before flying up at sai. The pale boy's eyes widen and he leaps off his bird as the lava dragon collides with it. There is an explosion of lava and ink that rains down onto the area. Or it would have had William not raised his hands and formed a dome of bees. The lava sloughs off the insects and falls to the ground. Multitudes of charred bees fall but the dome holds before the survivors return to william. The fighters square off and prepare to resume their battle. The teacher appears in between them. Both boys get hit in the head with a clipboard.
"Idiots!" the teacher roars.
"What have I told you about spewing lava everywhere?! You're not a volcano!" the teacher roars at sam.
"And you! I have repeatedly told you: no offensive nicknames, no flying in a spar, and stop trying to overwhelm your opponents with numbers! You will drain your chakra before you defeat your opponent if they are smart!" The teacher has gone red in the face and he demands the students all go inside as he cleans up the lava. Sam is given detention however.
