Chapter 3
-Earlier-
As soon Inuyasha leaves his house, Rin gets into her own parked car by the driveway since Inuyasha has to pull out without her car in the way. She drives back home to see a grey van parked by the mansion of some sort. She parks her car into the garage and goes into the kitchen to find Sesshomaru setting up the gears.
"Did Inuyasha get the memo?" Sesshomaru asks her as she comes in without turning his head. Rin nods. "He has. He's not really a morning person, I can tell you that much." Rin answers as she helps her husband out. "Mother, father." A little girl's voice calls to them. Rin smiles to see one of her fraternal twin daughters, Towa entering the kitchen. "Morning, Towa. Where's Setsuna?"
The little girl has her father's silver hair color, but it's short to her human ears with a strain of red hair on one of her bangs. Her magenta eyes are uncommon for them since no one else in the family has that color. "She's waking up. What are you doing today?" Towa asks her mom curiously as well as not to touch the equipment. "Well, your funny uncle is helping Kagome out with a mission." Rin answers her as she begins to get breakfast going.
"Oh no. What did Uncle Inu do this time?" Towa asks as she tilts her head to the side innocently. Rin couldn't help but giggle at that. "Well, Auntie Kagome needs his help on the mission." That's all Rin can tell her.
"Morning." A tired voiced said as the other twin enters the kitchen. "Morning, Sestuna. What do you want for breakfast?" Rin greets her other twin daughter with a hug. Sestuna looks more like Rin with the same deep black hair color. Her hair is the same length as Sesshomaru's. But the other odd feature is that she has two strains of red on both sides of her hair. Not just that but her eyes are purple instead of either brown like Rin's or gold like Sesshomaru.
"Pancakes please." Sestuna requests to her mother. "Same here." Towa adds in as well. Rin nods. "Pancakes coming up." Rin begins to make them their breakfast.
Sesshomaru zips up the baggage. "Rin, I'm heading off. Make sure these two get to Sota's house before meeting me." He said to her and pecks her on the cheek. "I will. Be careful." Rin responds and gives the girls their food.
Towa and Sestuna are only four years old so they still trying to get used to being half demons like Inuyasha. But unlike him, they both have human ears instead of the elf like ones that Sesshomaru have. Setsuna looks more human than a demon due to her black hair. Towa on the other hand looks like a tomboy due to her short hair that looks more masculine than feminine. As such they don't seem to mind it.
"We're done mother." Towa said as she places her plate to the sink. Sestuna does it as well. "Ok, let me get these to the dish washer while you two get dressed and then we can head out ok." Rin said to them sweetly. Towa and Setsuna run up to their shared bedroom to pick with outfits they want to wear. Rin smiles as she begins to load the dishwasher with the dirty dishes from breakfast.
-Present-
Rin just left her daughters at Sota's house. Turns out the there's a third little kid in the family that the twins' playmates. Moroha. According to Sesshomaru, Inuyasha and Kagome are married, and they have their own bundle of join a few months after Towa and Sestuna were born. But in order to keep their daughter out of danger, Kagome had to keep her last name for her position. So for now Moroha is with Kagome's younger brother Sota to look after her until further notice.
Rin meets up with the van she spotted by the mansion early in the morning. A pattern of knocks gets the one's attention. "What's the password?" It was Sesshomaru who asks without opening the back door. "The dog is in charge." Rin whispers to him. The door opens up to see that Sesshomaru and Miroku are inside keeping an eye on Kagome and Inuyasha.
"Are the girls with their uncle Sota?" Miroku asks Rin as she puts on her headset and watches Kagome's progress while Sesshomaru and Miroku look through Inuyasha's area. "Yes, they are with Moroha. Sota will make sure that they stay behaved out there. Moroha really does miss them." Rin said in a calm yet serious tone.
"When we get through this mission through, we'll make sure that Moroha is with her parents, together." Sesshomaru assures her as they resume their mission.
The school bell rings to end the day. Kagome is about to gather her papers for the evening. "Mrs. Aino. Can I ask you something." Kagome looks up to see a girl that was in her earlier lessons in the morning. "Yes, what is it Saki?" The girl leans into her ear, unaware about the camera earrings. "Oh. Ok. Don't worry. I'll make sure it doesn't happen ok." Kagome smiles nicely as she tries to keep her expression as calmly as possible. "Ok see you tomorrow." Saki waves goodbye and leaves the classroom.
"I have to say, you have a way with kids there, Miyuki." One of the teachers enters the classroom. Kagome looks up to see it's a middle-aged woman with short brown hair and brown eyes. "Oh. I kind of do." Kagome chuckles at that. "I'm Misako. Social Studies." She gives her hand. Kagome puts on her gloves, seeing it's getting chilling. "Pleasure. Do any of these kids have something that they don't want to talk about? Before coming here, I heard what happened to the two victims who happened to be teachers that me and Mr. Tikishima are taking over." She asks politely as she closes her messenger bag and puts it over her one shoulder.
Misako shakes her head. "From what I can tell you so far is that kids won't say a word about it. They don't even know who the shooter was at the time because that person just vanished and no one was able to track him or her down. I wish I could tell you more, but it's best that you get used to your job and hope that you don't become the next victim."
Kagome nods back. "Ok thank you. See you tomorrow." She waves and heads to her car. As she is about to get in, Inuyasha knocks on the window of her vehicle. "Hey, any luck?" He asks her. Kagome shakes heads. "Negative. No one said anything, even the teachers are a bit uncomfortable talking about it." Kagome answers him. "Same here. From the looks of it, this place isn't normal anymore. I'll meet you at your brothers so we can take Moroha home." Inuyasha said before getting into his own car and drives off. Kagome follows him to where her brother is along with their daughter is staying.
Sota sighs as he and his wife Moe clean up after their toys were left in a big mess after playing with them for hours. Moe is the middle of her pregnancy and as such Sota has to make sure she doesn't overdo it. "They are so energetic." Moe comments with a smile on her face with her eyes closed. Sota nods to agree with that. "All three with demon blood in their tiny bodies, they do make a lot of messes around the house." Sota points out.
Moe watches the girls in the living playing with one of those new card games that just came out. She looks to her watch to see what time it is. "They should be here soon. We might as well let them know." She said as she puts the last toy into the toy chest in the playroom. Sota walks into the living room. "Girls, your parents will be here soon. You should gather your things that you brought with you today." He tells them kindly.
All three beamed with joy and begin to gather their stuff. Soon enough one of the vehicles pulls up to the driveway, along with another behind it. "It's mom and dad." Moroha cries happily as she quickly goes outside. Inuyasha comes out of his car. "Hey there, Moroha. I hoped that you had a great time with Uncle Sota." He picks her and embraces her warmly. Moroha giggles as she nuzzles his face. "You bet I did. You wouldn't believe what I was able to do." She said to her father.
Kagome gets out of her car. "How's my baby girl doing?" She asks in a playful manner. Inuyasha hands her over to Kagome. "Mommy, I had a blast." Moroha smiles with pride. "Alright, you ready to go home?" Kagome asks her. That made Moroha frown a little. "Aren't we supposed to go to our actual home, mommy? I miss being there." Kagome sighs, "I know how you feel. I do miss being there as well. But your daddy and I need to be in separate houses in order to continue on with our work. You know that right?" Kagome reminds her daughter as she hugs her. Moroha whimpers in disappointment.
Inuyasha comes up to them. "I assure that once we're done with this, we'll live in that house. I promise you that." He ruffles her hair. Moroha looks up to him. "Are you sure? Last time you said that, we haven't been there for a long time." Inuyasha picks her up from Kagome's hold and nuzzles her. "I know. I promised that but there are times that it takes a bit longer to keep my promise. I'm going to make sure that it'll be fulfilled." He assures her more seriously.
"Come on, let's get you to your Grammy." Kagome said as she opens the car's back door and puts her daughter into the kid's seat and straps her in. Moroha feels a bit tired all of sudden. Kagome quietly closes the door. "She must've worn herself out today." Inuyasha observes the scene with fondness. Kagome sighs deeply. "Pretty much. Sota and Moe feed them dinner so it's obvious that she has to go to bed soon." She gets into her driver seat and heads off to her mother's house. Ever since Kagome became an agent after having Moroha, she knew that it'd be hard to raise her due to her duties. Luckily her mother was more than willing to take care of her. Inuyasha drives the other way to get to his place to get ready for tomorrow.
Rin pulls into the driveway and goes inside. "Sota, Moe." She asks as she spots Sota in the kitchen. "Oh Rin. I'm glad that you're doing well. How is Sesshomaru doing?" Sota leads her to the living where Moe is playing cards with the twins. "He's doing great. We're just getting things sorted out after today's assignment." Rin answers nicely. "Towa, Setsuna. Ready to go home?" She asks her twins. Towa and Setsuna run and hug her. "We are mother." Towa said first. Setsuna nods for her answer. Rin smiles warmly. "Anyway, thank you for looking after them, Sota. By the way, how's Moe doing with her pregnancy?"
Sota carries the twins' two bags and follows Rin to her car. "She's doing okay for now. There were times about her having mood swings." He chuckles in the end. Rin smiles at that. "Yeah, I know how that feels, Sesshomaru had to make sure I didn't go overboard." She remembers her times when she was pregnant with the twins. "We'll see you tomorrow." Rin said as she sees her twins buckled in their seats in the back of her car. Sota just waves and goes back inside.
