Chapter 4
Rin silently closes her twin daughters' bedroom door. Feeling so fatigued she decides to go straight to sleep. She loves being a mother, there's no mistake on that. But having twins for the first four years can be a hassle. But she wouldn't have it any other way. She enters her bedroom to see that Sesshomaru in his black shirt and white pj pants as well as being on his tablet doing his work.
"Are the girls asleep?" He obviously asks her as she gets into her closet to change into her pajamas. "Yeah. Sota told me that they had a blast with Moroha. They love being with her." Rin replies tiredly as she begins to go into the covers. Sesshomaru sets the tablet down and plugs it in to charge its battery. "I know how taxing it is on you. But you need to take it easy." He said to her warmly as Rin gets comfortable under the covers.
"For now we need to find out more about what Kagome found other than the student and the other teacher at school. All we know is that the one thing about the killer is called the Purifier. According to what people believe, that the Purifier shows up out of nowhere and kills anyone who it deems uncleansed." Sesshomaru said to her.
Rin nods her head slowly. "I know, but I want to help out as much as I can so that Kagome and Inuyasha can be a normal family." Rin spoke back before falling asleep. Sesshomaru can tell how Rin is when it comes to Kagome. It's true that he and Rin have a family of their own and they know how to take care of themselves. It's no surprise that the twins wanted to take karate lessons a few months ago and they are highly skilled at it. There's no point for Sesshomaru to worry about his daughters. He decides to call it a day and goes to sleep.
Kagome enters her house completely exhausted. She really wanted to be with her daughter more than anything, but her duties come first. Of course when she became a mom, she had the maternity leave until Moroha was about 6 months old. Even looking at the picture when she was pregnant as well as the day Moroha was born, she never forgets that moment. Inuyasha made sure that she was safe at all costs, even for the newborn. Kagome looks to see a picture of her and Inuyasha on the wedding day. Even after getting married, Kagome wanted to keep her last name for work so that no one would get the wrong idea about her relationship. It'd be too awkward to say at the least.
'It's been three and a half years since we were a family. I just wanted us to be together. Even Inuyasha made that promise to Moroha. But we both know it's not to be.' Kagome thought sadly as she gets into bed and goes to sleep.
Inuyasha goes through his files and footage of today's assignment. Nothing out of the ordinary happened yet. He checked each of the students' spots at the times of his classes and during any funny business as if they're going to break the rules. He knows for a fact that cell phones are strictly forbidden during school hours for the students. But it never applied to the teachers, which gave Inuyasha a thought. 'For sure that the teachers are allowed to use their phones for their jobs as such. Students can because they would use them to cheat on their tests and exams.' He thinks to himself wisely. Seeing that nothing interesting has happened, he hopes he can get more information tomorrow. The sooner, the better.
The next day, Kagome comes out of her car to see that the parking lot is empty. No student or any of the faculty in the area. She's the only one so far. She looked down at her smartwatch seeing that she's a few minute early in the day. Another car pulls up and parks next to Kagome. "Kagome. What's going on here?" Inuyasha asks her as he gets out of his car.
"Beats me. I just got here. It'd be as if the school has been deserted." Kagome answers him. Inuyasha looks up to see that the lights are on in a few rooms. "Maybe everyone is inside." Kagome guess as they enter the school. They see that the office room door is open. They go in to see only the worker they met yesterday. "Oh Mrs. Aino. Mr. Tikishima. You need to leave immediately." She urges them go. "What's going on here?" Inuyasha asks her calmly.
"Apparently the school system has been hacked and no one can access their information." The worker explains the problem. Kagome opens her smartphone to see if she could sign in. It gets through. "Hmm, I'm able to get in. What about you?" She turns to Inuyasha to see if he can get in as well. He was able to sign in easily. "I'm in. You?" He asks the worker. She types down her username and password. "No, I don't how this is going on." She said disappointedly.
"If that's the case, why are some of the classrooms' lights on?" Kagome asks her. The worker sighs, "We have our crew trying to get a hold of the hacker so we can get back in." She answers to them. "Maybe we could help." Kagome offers her assistance." The worker looked confused. "No offense, but you two are teachers."
Inuyasha chuckles. "That's true, don't get us wrong, but we know a thing or two about internet access. Let us help the crew and we'll try to make sure that the hacker doesn't get us again." He advices the worker. The worker sighs, "Fine. Just don't get in their way when they're in the middle of their work." She permits them reluctantly.
"Thank you. We won't let you done." Kagome smiles and leaves the room with Inuyasha right behind her. Inuyasha sniffs the area, even though he's in his human disguise. "They're on the second floor." He informs her and they head towards the scent's source. They find the room and see a few crew workers with their devices.
One of the workers turns around. "What are two doing here? The school's closed. Didn't you get the email?" He asks them. "We didn't get one this morning. We thought we could help you guys out." Inuyasha answers him casually. "But you two are teachers. What could you possibly do to help us solve this hacking problem.
Kagome pulls out her laptop. "Don't assume us because of our careers. We know what it takes to take care of hackers." She tells him seriously as Inuyasha pulls out his own laptop and they sit at table closest to the crew. "Give us an ethernet cable so we can catch that hacker."
One of the crew works hand over a cable for the both of them so they can connect. Inuyasha and Kagome type down the codes they would use to get access to the internet. The laptop screen shows a ping of where the hacker is located. "We got it." Inuyasha said to the crew. The workers look surprised to see that Inuyasha was able to find the hacker that fast. "Where is the hacker.?" The crew worker calls out to him.
Inuyasha narrows his eyes. "It's in this building." He answers. The crew look at each other. "In this building? How is that possible?" The one worker asks curiously. Inuyasha gestures them to look at his work on his laptop. "I analyzed the school's system and look for any problems that might leave out viruses and what nots. The thing I have a safeguard on my laptop thus making it easy for me and here to locate the perpetrator." Inuyasha explains to them.
"But the school's system also has a firewall to protect it." One worker points out to him. Inuyasha nods, "Yes that's true. Nowadays people need to make sure that their computers and other devices have protection against these kinds of things. Firewalls. But from the looks of this one, the firewall somehow cracked. Tell me who is usually behind the school's system?" He asks the workers.
The crew look at each other. "We don't know who it is. Whenever the system is down, we are usually called to get it fixed." One worker explains their purpose. Kagome types in a few codes to see if she can find anything else. "All I'm seeing here is this symbol." She said to them. The group looks to see that the symbol shows a P of some sort. "No idea what that symbol means. We need to identify who this person is so we can let the authorities know. We can't leave this thing unchecked." She adds in with a look of concern. 'It looks familiar to me.' She thinks to herself quietly.
