Chapter 19.
"You may leave." Sesshomaru dismissed the group from the soundproof room. "Inuyasha." He calls to his brother. Inuyasha turns around to see Sesshomaru is displeased about something. "A word with you." Inuyasha closes the door to make sure that their conversation is absolutely private.
"You should know that I didn't send Riku to bring you here." Sesshomaru starts off as he takes a seat. Inuyasha decided to follow suit and sits on the leather couch. "I also want to talk about what Riku found out the main suspect at hand."
"And you only want me to know about this. What about the rest of the group. Kagome included since you assigned her in this?" Inuyasha required with his arms crossed.
"It comes to my understanding that Kagome is being way too focus on Moroha, that she's forgetting her duty as an agent." Sesshomaru prefers to speak that part.
"And your point is…" Inuyasha raised his one eyebrow, trying to get Sesshomaru to spill.
"I've decided to remove Kagome from the case." Sesshomaru declares his choice. Inuyasha slightly gasps to hear such thing. "And you don't want to tell this to Kagome, but to me." Inuyasha said instead of a question.
Sesshomaru just nods. Inuyasha narrows his golden eyes in suspicion, "Ok, let me get this straight. The other night, you called me when I was about to go to sleep, to lecture me about my lack of responsibility. Refusing to let Kagome quit on the task even though she's under the contract. What's going on here?
"I'm aware about how much Kagome wants to be the mother she wanted to be since she had your daughter. As such you told by her that she wants to quiz despite the contract she signed. But it comes to my understanding that if the suspect is to know about this, then he or she would use that against you.
"Like fucking hell I'd keep this damn secret from us. She has a right to know." Inuyasha protests the idea. In all his life, Inuyasha had always been looking out for her since they were kids. And now, Inuyasha has realized that he loves her that he'd do anything for her. But to keep this secret from her is out of the question.
"At one point, you were against her suggestion because of Moroha. And I hate to break it to you, but I'm being supportive on it." Inuyasha reasons seriously
"Just promise me that you won't say a word about this. If she does, you're off the case as well. All she can do is to resume her task as a teacher, but the equipment will be removed from the classroom and she is to return her belongings to me." Sesshomaru warns him seriously.
Now Inuyasha is in a tight situation, as well as in a position that he cannot disagree to. There's just no way out of this.
"Fine." He admits defeat unwillingly.
Sesshomaru smiles in victory to see things go his way. "Very well. You may leave." He allows his brother to exit the room.
Inuyasha walks down the hallway to see Kagome and Rin talking among themselves at the kitchen counter with tea. "Oh there you are, Inuyasha." Kagome smiles to him. Inuyasha had to force a genuine one to make sure that Kagome wouldn't get suspicious about his situation.
"Ready to go home?" Inuyasha wraps his one arm around Kagome's shoulder. Kagome nods. "Let gets Moroha."
"Actually, Kagome I was thinking that Moroha would like to spend the night here." Rin stops them from leaving. Kagome nor Inuyasha didn't see this coming. "What brought this up?" Inuyasha asks her.
Rin opens her phone to show the camera that Sesshomaru installed in the rooms around the house. She pressed the basement playroom and shows it to them.
"Ready to try this again?" Moroha smiles at her cousins.
Towa and Setsuna nod to see what Moroha is able to do. "Solar plex, instep nose, groin." Moroha sings in smug cutely as she demonstrated what Kagome taught her on their big dummy. Kagome could only chuckle at that scene. "Let's just see what she says about it first." She said to Rin.
Rin nods with a smile. "Ok."
Inuyasha and Kagome heads down to the basement that Sesshomaru transformed the big space into a feat of rooms for different purposes. The parents knew which room that Moroha is in. They can hear giggling with her cousins. "Moroha." Kagome knocks on the open door.
"Mommy! Daddy!" Moroha spoke as she runs up to Kagome, into her opened arms. "How's it going down here, sweetie?" Kagome kisses her daughter on the forehead.
"Oh Mommy, I had to show them how to sing." Moroha waves her hands up and down. Kagome just looks at her lovingly. "Is that so? Towa, Setsuna. I hope that my daughter didn't give you must trouble." She turns her attention to her nieces.
"Not at all, Auntie Kagome. Besides we're doing martial arts. The moves Moroha did will be very useful later on." Towa smiles to them.
"On that note, do you want to spend the night here, Moroha?" Inuyasha asks her this time. Moroha smiles brightly. "Really? Can I? Can I?" Moroha hops into Inuyasha's arms. "We were told by Rin. She came up with the idea. What do you say, kiddo?"
Moroha nods. "I love to daddy." She hugs him. Inuyasha nuzzles her head. "Do you guys mind that?" He asks the twins.
"No. Not at all. We're gonna have a blast. We'll let her sleep in our room." Towa said. Kagome nods. "Ok then. I'll bring over a change of clothes for her tonight. How does that sound, sweetie?" She asks Moroha. "Please do mommy." Moroha smiles back.
"Ok. And we'll be here tomorrow to pick you up." Inuyasha kissed his daughter's forehead. Moroha nuzzles under his chin to show her love. "Now, don't get into any trouble." He tells her seriously with a wink as he puts her down. Moroha nods and goes back to continue on what she was doing with the twins.
As soon as Inuyasha and Kagome get into Inuyasha's car to go and get Moroha's belongings, "Did something happen between you and Sesshomaru?" Kagome immediately asks him in worry. "Nothing but demon stuff and such." Inuyasha calmly lies, even though he's doesn't want to do this, let alone, not even good at it either.
"Inuyasha, you're going have to do better than that. What exactly did you two discuss about?" Kagome said with a stern look.
"Remember when you said that you wanted to quit the force?" Inuyasha reminds her about her decision before sighing in defeat, but not entirely.
"I was just very stressful because of what happened at the hospital. I didn't know what I was thinking that night. I thought I had my mind straightened out." Kagome explains to him as calmly as she could.
"I think what Sesshomaru thought about it was true." Inuyasha retorted quietly. Kagome glances in his direction. "What's that supposed to mean?" She questions him.
"It means that Sesshomaru is beginning to realize how much you want to be a mother than an agent." Inuyasha said simply.
"And it took him that long to figure it out?" Kagome asks him curiously as they pull up on Inuyasha's driveway. "Well not really. He believes that you're lacking at your task at hand. As such he isn't going to be getting information out of you anymore."
Kagome frowns at the point. "As in…."
Inuyasha opens the door and lets her in first. "He's gonna have the equipment in your classroom removed." He informs, not satisfied one bit. "As well as your belongings."
Kagome shutters for a second. "Fine." She lowers her head down, so discouraged at it as well has having her bangs covering her chocolate brown eyes. She immediately goes into Moroha's room to grab the child's little red duffle bag and a change of clothes as well as her medicine that the doctor subscribed to.
"Wait a minute." Kagome murmurs as she turns the cylinder bottle to see if the pediatrician's name was on the bottle. It does. "Inuyasha!" She calls out to him. Inuyasha comes into the room. "What is it?"
Kagome hands over the bottle. "Look what the bottle says here." She puts her finger to the tiny print. "Potentially dangerous for children with demon blood." Inuyasha reads it outload.
"You think…" Kagome looks at him nervously.
"Moroha must've taken these when we got home. Dr. Jurino was aware about Moroha being a quarter demon as such she's trying to hurt her from the inside. For it's been a day, so there's a possibly that this side effect is going to happen. Come on." Inuyasha states as he and Kagome get back into the car and heads back to Sesshomaru's manor.
Back at the manor, Moroha was still teaching the twins about what her father taught her earlier. "So how does it go again?" Towa asks her curiously. Moroha heads to the dummy that looks like a person. "My daddy was using this technique like this."
Moroha does the same moves as before but make sure to slow it down so that the twins won't miss anything. "And then you hit this part at the back of the neck to knock them out, and set it down slowly. Well, the setting down mommy down is what daddy does so that she wouldn't get hurt in the end." She explains with each demonstration.
The twins look at each other. "Ok, we'll give that a shot." Setsuna speaks up as she follows Moroha instructions as she gets the dummy ready. Yeah just like…" Moroha smiles to see what Setsuna is doing until she feels a pulse from within. She drops to her knees.
"Moroha!" Towa comes down to her cousin. "Are you okay?" she asks in worry. Moroha groans as she grabs her head that's been feeling painful. "Ahh!" She screams in agony.
