38- Dinobot Madness.
It looked like an ordinary day on Murcott Island, except that it wasn't. Right in an open area…
"There, that should do it." The Autobot medic announced, finishing some work on a terminal.
"Ratchet, what exactly is this for?"
"This, Optimus, will allow us to shed some light to the matter which actually concerns me."
"You mean the data you obtained during the Dinobots' medical check?" Elita recalled.
"Precisely. When I was running a general diagnostic, I discovered something unexpected. Besides the general reconfiguration on most of their systems thanks to Shockblast, as I expected, the scanner detected something unusual. It also got a weird energy signal, one curiously present on all the members of Grimlock's team. I thought at first it may be some coincidence since their last checkup happened long ago, but after a few more reviews I found out it wasn't. Something must have happened them that we are not aware of."
"Grimlock, did you go through any uncommon situation after we separated?" Optimus asked to the Dinobot leader.
"No, that I can remember."
"But Grimlock, what about that time we went...you know, into that weird place?" Slash started.
"What place?" Elita asked.
"There was a time when we came across some undisturbed wasteland. It was deserted, and surrounded by a perimeter with some disturbing signs with creepy pictures. Just like this." Scorn revealed as he used the tip of his whip to draw a picture on the floor.
"Yeah, right before Slam, Snorkel, Strike and I ran into you guys." Spitter pointed.
"By the Allspark. That's...a radioactive hazard warning signal." Ratchet identified. "With that decryption the most obvious location must be a deposit for store radioactive waste."
"Is that substance harmful for cybertronians?" Snorkel asked worried.
"Fortunately not. However I heard that very prolonged direct exposure to high concentrations could manifest anomalies. Perhaps this could be one."
"And it is serious, doctor?" Snarl asked.
"I can't say right now, I'll require another analysis." Ratchet said before pressing some buttons. After a while the terminal beeped, showing the results. "By the Allspark, it could be…"
"Ratchet, what is it?" Optimus asked.
"Don't let us hanging here, doc." Slag demanded.
"If I'm reading this correctly, we must assume that the Dinobots now possess the same unique quality that only the Combaticons own." Ratchet reported, making almost everyone gasp in disbelief.
"Are you saying…?" Strike started, so excited so he couldn't end the phrase.
"We now can combine?!" Swoop ended.
"Ha, wait until the Cons heard about this. They will be running for their chassis to the edge of the galaxy!" Slam celebrated.
"This could be just what we need to turn the tides of the war completely." Optimus pronounced.
"Em, Optimus, did we hear right?"
"Indeed, Max. It seems the Dinobots now have the ability to merge together into a gestal."
"Speaking of which, how exactly is it done so that several robots can combine into one?" Iris added.
"The process is still not quite sure yet, specially since the Decepticons were the first ones on developing such advance procedure. There are rumors which speaks about something called the Infinite Combinatronic to be the source, but that has not been confirmed. Actually no one knows what that thing truly does." Ratchet explained.
"The ability of combination has been a mystery. Nexus Prime, one of the Thirteen, was the first known combiner, and probably the original owner of the Enigma of Combination, which allows beings the capacity of combination, as saying means 'till all are one'." Optimus narrated.
"Hum, the radiation effects could probably triggered this ability into the Dinobots during the exposure, since they were all present at the very same moment. That's why I have brought this equipment here, to put it to the test and see if it's true." Ratchet finished as he made preparations on the terminal.
"That sounds great, but then why can't we be right there to witness it with you?" May demanded, pointing that all humans and most of the Autobots were actually in the base.
"Just for simple precaution May. We are not certain what this could end to, the Dinobots already went through a lot when Shockblast performed his sinister experiments on them." Elita responded.
"Also this place was chosen to avoid putting innocent humans and pokémon in danger during the test." Optimus added.
"Yeah, the big guys were never good at not making a mess." Wheeljack pointed.
"I've heard you, Jackie!" Slag yelled through com-link.
"Just to know, do we already have a name for the Dinobots combined form?" Ritchie asked, making everyone to look at him. "I mean, you mentioned the combined forms of the Decepticons have their own names, so why now doing the same for yours?"
"Ritchie's right, we need a name for this new combiner. One cool and also imposing." Sideswipe supported.
"Really? Are we about to vote for names right now?" Arcee asked.
"I got one. How about...Dinotitan?"
"Why that, Smokey?" Hot Rod asked.
"Well, because it starts with Dino too, and since so many Bots combined will lead to a very huge Bot."
"That sounds very original." Moonracer opined.
"I like it." Seaspray supported.
"Me too." Ash followed.
"I vote for it." Bonnie said.
"Me too." Iris added.
"I don't have any preferences, so I will go with the flow." Fixit simply answered.
"What do you think about this, Optimus?" Bumblebee asked.
"I think the answer should come from the ones composing said being."
"I think it would work fine." Sludge said.
"Hey, I was the one who thought Dinobots could be a good name for us, so why not this?" Swoop supported.
"Definitely sounds good." Scorn said.
"Yeah, it certainly does. It's decided then." Grimlock acknowledged.
"The team will be ready to deploy for assistance in case of any sudden events or setbacks, or possible Decepticon activity. Ultra Magnus, you are in charge." Optimus commanded.
"You can count on me, sir."
"Ratchet, I've checked all systems. Any changes will be monitored from base." Blaster reported.
"Copy that. We are ready to go." Ratchet signaled.
"Grimlock, now it's up to you." Optimus authorized.
"Alright team, let's do it. Dinobots, combine into Dinotitan!"
After the order, some of the Dinobots gathered together, making their bodies to transform, not like they used to do, but to merge ones with the others. As this happened, the other Dinobots positioned on some sides of the congregated, allowing cables to unite them starting their transformation. As result, some of them formed what seemed to be two huge reptilian feet, which connected to a huge body ended in a big and long tail. The upper part turned into a torso, with two arms ending on two hands with four claws, the same as the feet, and the top showing a head of a dinosaur, and a line of spikes on the back from the neck to the tail. Everyone witnessed it at base thanks to Blaster's items, some dropping their jaws in surprise while others simply observed in disbelief. The just formed Dinotitan looked around it, seeing the whole island due its height, and launched a very loud roar to the sky, so powerful that ended scaring all the island's pokémon.
"By the Allspark." Optimus expressed.
"Blaster, are you getting this?"
"Yes Ratchet. The readings are more than we expected."
"Is that...the Dinobots all together?" Misty asked rubbing her eyes.
"It seems we did right naming it Dinotitan." Predaking said.
"I looks even bigger than Omega Supreme." Dawn observed.
"I can't wait to see what it might do to the Cons." Warpath wished.
Speaking of Dinotitan, the massive gestal continued looking around until putting eyes on the three Autobots below it. It approached its head to them, smelled them, and growled a little before raising it head again. Optimus's face looked troubled, as if something was not right.
"Dinotitan, this is Optimus Prime. How are you feeling?" The titan didn't answered, not sure if it heard him or not, as it continued observing its surroundings. "Dinotitan, please report your status, over." Optimus tried to call by com-link, but the only respond he received was just the creature shaking its head in annoyance.
"Something's not right. Why it isn't responding?" Elita wondered.
Suddenly Dinotitan started moving, walking slowly through the island. The problem was that because of its massive size, the gestal couldn't avoid leaving traces of smashing on its way, specially big footprints.
"What is it doing?" Ultra Magnus asked through com-link.
"Seems to be heading right to the ocean." Tracey saw.
"But why?" Serena asked.
"Ratchet, what's going on?" Optimus demanded.
"I'm about to check it out. Oh no." He said once putting eyes on the terminal. "How I didn't see this coming? I should have known."
"What do you mean?" Clemont asked.
"When cybertronians combine into a gestal, their minds join together as well as their bodies. And since their intellectual capacities seemed also altered when Shockblast experimented on them, the outcome should be unexpected. Maybe that's the reason why Dinotitan is acting like a wild creature, not recognizing its own allies."
"Oh great, just when we finally had our own combiner team the resulting one ends being a mindless giant cybertronian lizard." Sunstreaker complained.
"More like a wild pokémon, since it seems to act like that."
"That's not entirely bad, right Tracey?"
"Indeed Bonnie, but it isn't good either. Depending on its possible behavior, its reaction regarding pokémon or even humans could be worrying."
"Besides of how people would react at such huge being. It would be a great chaos if that ends on the news."
"Goh has made a serious point: we cannot allow such unmistakable sign to reach human eyes. We must do all in our power to control Dinotitan's actions until we can return it back to its previous state." Optimus proclaimed. "Fixit, monitor its movements to prevent any close human presence establish contact with it."
"Understood."
"Blaster, contact Windblade and prepare for take flight alongside Drift and Predaking. It is possible we will require air support."
"Got it."
"My blades are yours, Optimus." Drift responded.
"As my flames." Predaking nodded.
"What about us?" Hot Rod asked.
"Autobots, deploy in teams on the closest islands with known human presence. We may consider their evacuation in case situation turns ugly."
"You heard the call. Prepare to roll out." Ultra Magnus communicated.
"That counts for us too?"
"No Ash, we need you right here, and bring your pokémon. Even responding just to its primal instincts there's the possibility Dinotitan will be able to distinguish which beings are or not a threat." Elita explained.
"So you wish we show them to it in order for it to not retaliate." Goh understood.
"I will join you to make sure no one ends hurt on this process." Optimus added preparing his jet-pack.
"I will stay here trying to figure out how to return it back to Grimlock and his teammates. Clemont, I could require your assistance here."
"On my way, Ratchet."
"That's all everyone, let's roll out!" Optimus ended.
Blaster opened a portal which he, the gang, Drift and Predaking crossed to the island, before allowing Elita One to return to base.
"Optimus, Dinotitan is approaching the sea."
"Understood Fixit. Get ready to move, everyone."
"I may catch up with it going the faster way, my way."
"Granted Seaspray. Go ahead and don't lose sight of Dinotitan, but don't get too close."
"I will meet with you at the shore, buddy."
"See you there, Misty." Seaspray acknowledged.
While Misty headed to the shore to meet with the aquatic Wrecker, some of the kids called specific pokémon for travel: Ash picked up Charizard, riding him with Serena and Pikachu while he let Tracey, Bonnie and Max to ride Noivern; as Ritchie did with Zippo, allowing Dawn, Piplup and May to accompany him; and Iris called Dragonite to take her and Goh. Once everyone was ready to take off, Optimus ignited his jet-pack, giving them the signal. Misty managed to reach the shore, right where Seaspray was waiting for her. He had his fins already deployed, ready for the swim, while she activated her mermaid suit and pulled out Gyarados and Golduck before getting in the water. Team Prime, on the other hand, deployed on the closest inhabited islands: Ultra Magnus, Hot Rod, Moonracer and Sunstreaker went to Moro Island; Warpath, Elita and Arcee deployed on Golden Island while Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Smokescreen and Wheeljack traveled to Mandarin Island. At the same time, far away from there, the Decepticons were immersed into their own business.
"How much more do we need to collect?"
"Patience Drag Strig, brand new discoveries and inventions require more than juts one test." Shockblast answered while he operated a replica of the machine he discovered on Team Alien's research facility, connected to some advanced canisters where more purple energy was storage before Vehicons disconnected to transport.
"Can you remind me what exactly is this for?"
"Quake, seriously? Didn't you pay attention at the general orders on the warship? In order to complete a stable synthetic dark energon formula, more amount of corrupted Dragon Force is required." Thundercracker recalled.
"The emplacement which we currently stand is a hot spot where it travels on high concentrations, the perfect place for harvest." Shockblast added.
"And once you have enough stuff how long it will take you to create such substitute of this Blood of Unicron?" Stinger asked by through com-link from the Nemesis.
"It's not determined. My intuition tells me that the more quantity we obtain, the faster the development of it will be."
"Then we better don't waste more time in senseless discussions. Make sure our enemies don't disturb Shockblast while he continues his work, that is crucial for our plan." Xiaxus commanded before ending the call.
"Generals, we have detected a strange energy signal." Nightbird announced.
"Of high unknown intensity, but is definitely cybertronian." Nova Storm added.
"What may be the source of it? Autobots, or the Star Seekers?" Xiaxus wondered.
"Or perhaps another Team Alien abandoned project which may have gone on the lose. Whatever the case, this requires an investigation. Onslaught, prepare your team for departure." Darkscream called.
"Wait, are you gonna send the Combaticons to a simple scouting?" Knock Out argued.
"Given the reports of new recruits into Prime's fold more recently, we must expect anything when it comes to the unknown. And that requires extreme measures."
Meanwhile, back to the ocean, Seaspray, Misty and her pokémon were swimming, following Dinotitan's trail. It wasn't such a problem giving its size, but as Optimus suggested they just stood after its tail.
"It surprises me how fast it can swim despite how big it is." Misty admitted, since she and Seaspray were forced to use turbo.
"Let's not forget it's a brand new combiner, so who knows what else it can do." Seaspray said.
Fortunately Dinotitan was so big that it was recognizable from the air, besides that it was swimming right at the surface.
"It doesn't look dangerous from here." Max saw.
"And it doesn't seem interested or bothered by water pokémon." Dawn supported.
"Even if that's true, I bet most of pokémon would prefer to avoid swimming next to such giant creature." Goh deduced.
"Where it's heading?" Ash wondered.
"I hope not right at one of the highly inhabited islands of the archipelago." May wished.
"For now it's not the case, but if it decides to change course, who knows." Blaster reported.
"Let's hope we don't have to resort to force." Drift said.
Suddenly tracking Dinotitan turned a little harder because of the sudden appearance of a fog.
"Uf, where did this fog come from?" Serena asked.
"It's just a little of sea mist. It forms above sea sometimes, it's completely normal." Iris reassured.
"We will have to change our pursuit's tactic. Blaster, activate your sensor's array, don't let it out of reach until we get out of this mist." Optimus instructed.
While they continued, suddenly Pikachu sensed something, right before he was sucked into the mist.
"Eh? Pikachu? Where are you?" Ash asked looking.
In that moment, most of the mist dissipated, and revealed what, or better said who, caught him.
"Yeah, we finally caught him!"
"No way, Team Rocket!" Ash shouted.
"What are you doing here?!" May demanded.
"And how did you find us?!" Tracey added.
"For once we weren't following you, we swear." James started.
"You could say we ran into you by coincidence. Just attending a simple request." Jessie continued.
"But now thanks to it we now will be back with a little extra obtained during the way." Meowth laughed holding the cage which trapped Pikachu.
"Pika pi!" Pikachu yelled.
"Hey, leave Pikachu alone!" Bonnie demanded.
"Just what we needed, as if we weren't busy enough." Ritchie cursed.
"Guys." Misty called.
"Now if you excuse us, we will make our way to present the boss our long awaited achievement." Jessie saluted as they got ready to activate some rockets installed on the balloon.
"Guys."
The gang continue looking at their foes determined to stop them, until something else got their attention.
"Hey, I don't recall weather report to announce rain." Meowth wondered as shadows covered the balloon.
"It's getting night already?" James asked.
"Maybe it's a solar eclipse." Jessie suggested.
The truth was that something huge was blocking the light of the sun to them. When they turned to see what it was they got shocked: it was Dinotitan, just erected, looking at them with its blue eyes.
"Hey guys, what's going on up there?" Seaspray demanded.
"Team Rocket is trying to take Pikachu again, but it seems this caught Dinotitan's attention." Predaking responded.
"That's what I've been trying to tell you, it just stopped so sudden, like interested on something from above him." Misty explained.
Team Rocket didn't know how to react, they were frightened to death at being looked by the giant cybertronian. They feared the worst when it grabbed the balloon with one of its hands, believing it was going to crush them. But for everyone's surprise it simply took the cage where Pikachu was locked with two of its claws; it contemplated it for a little moment, then it broke it a little, allowing the yellow pokémon to escape and climb on its arm. Dinotitan kept an optic on Pikachu until he jumped back to Charizard and his friends, for the group's relief, before turning back at Team Rocket with angry eyes and roared at them. The roar's strength was so hard that it sent the balloon away.
"Looks like Team Rocket is blasting off again!" They announced disappearing in the sky, again.
"Unbelievable. Dinotitan just rescued Pikachu from Team Rocket." Tracey started.
"And disposed of Team Rocket with just a roar." Ritchie added.
"Hahaha, that has been hilarious." Bonnie laughed.
"It also cares for other's safety."
"Indeed Serena. It appears there's still something of the Dinobots' principles inside of it." Optimus noticed.
"Pika Pika!"
After being thanked by Pikachu, Dinotitan observed the rest of the gang, paying close attention to both humans and pokémon. Unfortunately which could have been a very emotive and revealing moment was frustrated when Dinotitan received a few laser shots on the face. It roared irritated to where the shots came from.
"Sorry for the delay, but I guess I arrived just in time."
"Windblade, hold fire! Dinotitan is one of us!" Optimus ordered.
On the other hand Dinotitan looked like it was about to retaliate, if it wasn't for the gang's pokémon to get in middle of them. Then, before it calmed down, Dinotitan turned its view to some incoming new sounds.
"We better let first contact aside guys, we got company." Windblade warned turning at the same direction.
Heading at them was a UH-60 Black Hawk military helicopter and…
"Is that….a space shuttle?" Max recognized.
"Not close, is Blast Off." Blaster recognized.
"And Vortex!" Drift added.
The two Combaticons fired their vehicle form's guns at Dinotitan. Fortunately they didn't made even a scratch, but it annoyed the metallic titan.
"What in the pits of Kaon is that thing?!" Blast Off demanded.
"No clue, but it resembles a lot to the Dinobots." Vortex answered.
Vortex unleashed a storm of missiles, impacting around the combiner everywhere.
"Everyone, get out of the crossfire!" Optimus advised.
The group tried to get out of the missile storm as fast as they could, but Dinotitan's reaction was not making it easier: attempting to take the Cons down it used his claws and swing its tail, which almost hit Charizard, making Pikachu to fall.
"Pikachu!" Ash yelled.
"Sundor, retrieve him." Blaster instructed while deploying his Minibot.
Sundor managed to catch Pikachu just in time and return him back with Ash and Serena. After a while seeing the two Cons move around it, Dinotitan managed to anticipate their moves and managed to catch them with its claws. Everyone thought they were going to get crushed, instead Dinotitan threw them above it and when they returned down it hit them hard with the tail launching them against the water. The impact was so hard that Blast Off even ended with some broken parts.
"Scrap, that surely will let a mark."
"You are starting to sound like Knock Out."
"Cut it off Vortex. Obviously this thing is tough as we didn't know, not matter how fast and hard we hit it doesn't break."
"You are right, Blast Off. We are going to need heavier artillery for this thing. And we know who is an expert, for now let's just lure it right to it."
The Combaticons ceased their attacks and flew away, but Dinotitan was still raged and proceeded to swim after them.
"Looks like they have infuriate our new biggest friend. Do we interfere?" Windblade asked.
"I don't blame Dinotitan, it's not his fault we almost end toast."
"You are right Max. The Decepticons attacked first without reason, as they always do." Serena supported.
"Blaster, where it is going?" Optimus asked.
"It seems Vortex and Blast Off are heading to other island. But this one lacks of human and pokémon known presence, technically is deserted."
"Good."
"What do you mean, Optimus?" Ritchie asked.
"If a confrontation between Dinotitan and the Decepticons is going to take place, one which I doubt we could stop by any means, it better happens on a place without native life to be threatened."
"Optimus, we have news."
"Go ahead, Ratchet."
"We have been analyzing Dinotitan's schematics and we may have a way to reverse the combining process."
"According to this the combiner's actual form is hold by some specify support points and hook entries. If these are loose…" Clemont started.
"The combined form will not be keep up and the Dinobots will be immediately detached." Goh ended.
"So we just need to find these points and disconnect them." Iris deduced.
"But how exactly are we suppose to do that?" Ash asked.
"Well, that's the tricky part." Clemont started.
"Apparently these points are located right within the combiner's inner structure. So, to access them, you must be inside it." Ratchet finished.
"So we have to get inside Dinotitan somehow? How are we suppose to do that?!" Misty demanded.
"Sounds impossible." Dawn opined.
"There's nothing impossible."
"Drift is right. The readings also shows some apertures which can lead to Dinotitan's inside. I recommend using the one resembling its ears, it's the safest." Ratchet instructed.
"That's gotta be a problem with that giant having a tantrum with those two still annoying it." Windblade pointed.
"Kids, wait for my signal, that would be your time to approach Dinotitan and get inside." Optimus instructed.
"It should be when it's distracted." Tracey suggested.
"And not underwater." Max added.
Dinotitan followed the Combaticons until reaching a deserted island's shore. For them, once near land they transformed, exhausted and a little hurt by their encounter. Suddenly the sound of lot of water splashing alerted them before seeing the titan emerging from the water, stepping out of the water.
"Boss, Brawl, I hope you guys are ready because that thing is not ceasing at following us." Vortex hurried.
"Rest assured guys, we got it on our sight." Onslaught reassured them while he and Brawl were in a cliff near the edge of the island in vehicle form.
Onslaught's vehicle form was an anti-air military vehicle with rocket launchers on top, while Brawl was a modified M1 Abrahams tank. Both aimed to Dinotitan, and fired a lot of missiles, lasers and artillery projectiles at it.
"On the target!" Brawl celebrated, seeing all shots hit it.
"It doesn't matter how big something is, there's always a way to break it." Onslaught proclaimed.
"Yeah! How do you like us now, Autobot monster!?"
But the Cons's cheers ended at hearing a deep sound coming from the smoke, revealing a figure within it standing, right before a loud roar dissipated most of it. Dinotitan was still standing there, and it seemed intact.
"Are...you...kidding me? All that firepower and not even a scratch, or a burn?!" Brawl exclaimed in disbelief.
"That thing is tougher than it looks." Swindle said.
"We will have to face it the same way, by brutal force. Combaticons, combine into Bruticus!" Onslaught commanded.
Immediately the five Decepticons merged together, forming the juggernaut cybertronian. Dinotitan saw this as a challenge and stood erect, trying to intimidate its opponent with its size. Optimus also noticed this.
"Now its our chance. Kids, head to the entrance and get inside."
Following Prime's call, the gang approached an aperture right on what it was supposed to be the creature's ear, big enough for a human to get in, and jumped in one after another, Misty was helped by Blaster using his tentacles, carrying her out of the water. Only the small pokémon could follow them, so they returned the others back to their poke-balls. After a while waiting, and seeing Bruticus crushing his fists together, Dinotitan started walking at him, who charged in response. Bruticus employed a push with all his strength, hoping to bring his opponent down, but when he collided with Dinotitan, he discovered in horror that it was way stronger than him, stopping him on his tracks at the moment of grabbing him and started pushing him back. No matter how much or how strong Bruticus hit it, Dinotitan didn't stop, and surprised him by inflicting it a quick and surprising bite on one of his shoulders, causing him to scream in pain. Inside Dinotitan, the gang could felt the shakes caused by the confrontation.
"Looks like there's a real fight out there." Goh expressed.
"More intense than a pokémon battle? Sure." Misty agreed.
"Let's focus on looking those critical points by our way." Ash reminded.
"There's a few scattered all over Dinotitan's body, so it will be better if you split up." Clemont recommended through com-link.
"Alright. And be careful, we don't know how this body acts on the inside." Tracey nodded.
The group divided on pairs to cover more ground: Ash, Serena and Pikachu went together; May decided to accompany Bonnie and Max; Dawn and Piplup went with Ritchie and Sparky; Misty and Tracey chose another direction and Iris partnered with Goh. Fortunately for them Dinotitan's inside was not as dangerous as they thought, sometimes they were forced to pass through narrow ways but nothing serious. Back outside, Bruticus had enough and used his shield of helicopter blades to made Dinotitan release him. Next he fired his flamethrower at it, aiming for its head. Although this caught it by surprise, Dinotitan didn't seem hurt (again), just annoyed blowing some smoke from its nose. Then something happened: the spikes of the combiner's back started to glow as a sound of charging sounded. Inside, Serena and Ash, who were right near the titan's throat, saw the conduit in front of them starting to heat up, stopping them on their way since they had to cross through there. Then some kind of blue plasma flowed up inside of it, just when outside Dinotitan stood directly at Bruticus, and then he fired a beam of overheated plasma from the mouth, surprising the Decepticon combiner as he was hit on the chest, being pushed to the ground.
"What in the...what was that?" Bruticus asked in disbelief and shock, even frightened.
"Optimus, you are not going to believe the readings I'm registering."
"I'm seeing them by myself Ratchet, and you are right."
"Whoa, I didn't expect something like that." Predaking admitted.
Windblade whistled. "Now that's what I call firepower."
Seeing Dinotitan was about to fire again, Bruticus used his shield to block the incoming beam. And he did, but when it ended and looked at his shield got stunned: the helicopter's blades were serious burned, even started to melt. Bruticus's surprise was taken by Dinotitan, who charged against its opponent again, but this time more ferocious, biting his arm first before pinning him against the ground placing its foot on top of him. Next, it grabbed him from behind, lifted above it and threw Bruticus to the air, and when he felt right back it waited for the right moment to strike with the tail as it did with Vortex and Blast Off. The impact was too much for Bruticus, who was separated into the five Combaticons.
"Arg, my limbs, they hurt." Swindle complained.
"It's...it's too much." Vortex admitted.
"What in the Allspark is that monstrosity?!" Brawl exclaimed, almost desperate.
"Shh, I would not insult it if I were you right now." Blast Off warned.
Why? Because in that moment the Combaticons had Dinotitan looking them very closely.
"Nemesis, this is Onslaught. We're gonna need a very huge rescue party and an escape portal, or we are gonna end being a huge pile of scrap metal."
Right after finishing the call, Dinotitan roared them loud at their faces, being so intense that they were almost forced to shut down their audio receptors. But it scared them to death, someone yelling like a girl, since they tried to run away, but the Dinobot combiner swung its tail again, sending them flying some meters. Dinotitan was determined on finishing them when without warning a full fleet of Seeker soldiers started attacking it. Not only them, but also a small army of Decepticons of different kinds of soldiers tried to surround it.
"Now that's some goodbye party." Seaspray observed.
"The Decepticons must have brought a massive portion of their forces to cover the Combaticons' retreat." Blaster deduced.
"Despite all the gathered forces, Darkscream and Xiaxus know they cannot afford to lose Bruticus. It's currently the Decepticons' most powerful weapon." Optimus detailed.
"The big guy looks like in need of assist. Do we give it a hand?"
"Rest assured, Windblade. My instinct tells me to better step aside. The only thing it can be gotten by taunting a beast is making it even angrier. And as response to retaliate with such great fury." Predaking said.
Surprisingly Dinotitan did nothing to defend itself, or that was what it seemed. Instead he ducked, showing the spikes of its back, making one of them to open, revealing a secret aperture from which a huge missile was launched sky high. But it missed hitting almost none Decepticons, until it stopped, exploded and revealed lot of smaller missiles flying right at the enemies flyers, surprising them and taking them down like flies. The Combaticons only hurried into the emergency ground bridge, hoping not to be hit by one of the missiles. That took down most of the air enemies, but for the remaining ones, the closest of the ground and some leapers who chose to jump to the combiner to attack its body from multiple angles was awaiting another very devastating surprise. The spikes of the back started glowing again, but this time the energy canalized through the titan's body. Something that the gang noticed inside.
"Whoa, what's that?" Iris asked.
"No idea, but I think it can't be good." Goh sensed.
"For us or the Cons?"
"I-I don't know."
"Guys, are you seeing some of the walls glowing in blue?" May called through com-link.
"Yes. It looks like some kind of energy is moving through." Serena nodded.
"Watch out guys, it could a high intensity energy and surely dangerous, so don't touch those walls just in case." Tracey warned.
Meanwhile, after summoning enough energy, Dinotitan released it all in some kind of pulse which surrounded him and expanded, zapping all the nearby enemies and forcing them backwards. After that, it fired its energy beam again, eliminating the Decepticon battalion very fast. At the same time…
"Ash, look. That must be what Clemont and Ratchet were referring to." Serena said pointing at some peculiar cables.
"Yes, that's it." Ash nodded before contacting the others. "Guys, we have found one of the points."
"According to this, you should be right at the hook point which connects the head and the torso." Clemont reported checking the terminal.
"There are other five scattered around Dinotitan's body." Ratchet added. "I can see the others are getting closer too: to the point of the tail and the others regarding the limbs."
"I think we are right on one." Iris reported.
"Dawn, Piplup and I can see another right in front." Ritchie added.
"Us too." Misty followed.
"Count us as well. I think those are all." May reported.
"That counts five, there's one more remaining." Max corrected.
"Ash and Serena are right on the one of the head, Iris and Goh on the tail, Misty and Tracey are located right at the start of one leg while Ritchie and Dawn on the other." Ratchet counted.
"May, Bonnie, Max, we see you at the one of one of the arms, the other should be next to you." Clemont saw.
"For the detachment for be a success, all points must be disconnected at the same time."
"So some of us must get there to do it." Goh understood.
"Max and I can go there and handle that one." Bonnie volunteered.
"Alright, but be careful." May asked.
The only obstacle the two little kids had to surpass was the access where the energy of the beam flowed, so they waited for the right moment to cross, one after the other. Once they reached the cables…
"We're ready." Max announced.
"Okay guys, all on three. One, two, three!" Ash counted.
With the end of the countdown, everyone pulled from the cables as hard as they could. It was a hard pull, but after a few long attempts the cables plucked out one after one. Just when Dinotitan ended with the remaining Decepticons, ending with a victorious roar, before the parts of its body started to malfunction, causing the titan to collapse to the floor. During this Blaster sent his Minibots to make their way through the new holes to get out the gang safe and sound, and it happened: everyone got out unharmed with the Autobots. Right after Dinotitan's parts separated they transformed back into each and all the Dinobots.
"Ratchet, it worked, our friends are back." Optimus communicated.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Bonnie called.
"Urgh, my head." Snarl groaned trying to get up, but he almost fell. "I feel like if I made a cortical psychic patch with everyone and rode in a mental roller coaster."
"Everyone seems fine to me." May opined.
"And I have recorded everything happened." Blaster added.
"I guess it counts as a complete test run." Seaspray suggested.
"Optimus, how is it everything going over there?"
"It is over, Elita. Dinotitan has been shut down, and it seems the Decepticons has also experienced its most volatile side."
"So we can say it hasn't been a complete disaster?"
"Indeed Bumblebee. Our combiner has proven its efficiency in battling the enemy, but I think it would be best to not make use of it again for now. At least until Grimlock and his team learn how to control such power."
The Autobots weren't the only ones surprised by Dinotitan's performance. At the Nemesis' medical bay…
"I never thought we'll manage to escape from that apocalypse." Swindle told while Knock Out was examining him and his team, all lying on medical berths.
"And all because of that huge Dinobot, I'm not going to be able to sit down for a while." Blast Off complained.
"And look at how my precious blades have ended." Vortex added showing his almost molten helicopter blades.
"How I would like to tear apart all its body's sections one by one." Brawl said crushing his fists together, before pain made him shut up.
"Remain still and perhaps you may live enough for that chance. In all my years of medical expertise I've never seen conditions as these since the War for Cybertron. Whatever inflicted them this was something forged for the specify purpose of total destruction." Knock Out reported.
"And you say a giant Dinobot made this to you?" Undermine repeated.
"It-it wasn't an Dinobot like the ones you faced, it was a juggernaut, bigger even than Devastator. Not even in our combined form were we able to beat it." Onslaught confirmed.
"Unless it wasn't just one Dinobot. What if it was...all of them combined?" Xiaxus deduced.
"Hmm, that would make sense. If just 5 Decepticons can form a giant as Bruticus or Menasor and all the Constructicons formed the colossus Devastator, well, do the calculation." Knock Out reasoned.
"And because some of the Dinobots are huge cybertronians...hmm, seeing it like that makes sense." Undermine understood.
Darkscream punched the wall in fury. "Just what we needed! Like if it wasn't enough for Prime to have Predaking on his side and the Dinobots back, now they have their own combiner?! Who knows how long it will take them to have their own army."
"Or their own warship." Motormaster added.
"Well, allow me to boost your morale with good news, brother." Thundercracker announced by com-link, his face appearing on the screen. "We finally got it."
Darkscream gasped in surprise as he ran to the terminal. "Really? It's complete?"
"Why don't you see it by yourself?" Nova Storm responded as she and Thundercracker stepped aside.
Shockblast was holding a canister with a purple liquid substance inside.
"Darkscream, it is my pleasure to present you the first sample of synthetic dark energon. The completion of the formula has been my most recent achievement."
"Indeed it is, Shockblast. And now with all the power of darkness we can harvest by our own hands, there's nothing that can stop us from putting our master plan in motion. Not even Prime and his new monstrosity." Darkscream proclaimed laughing.
