#6- The Giant King's Fortress!
Marinette, TK, Alix, and Sabrina had been slowly doing quite well, originally their party started at Rank E, so they began with minor quests from gathering herbs to escort missions, soon the group was at Rank B!
T.K was incredibly useful for a kid his age, his Soldier of Nature skill made him quite the tank, while also being able to counter-attack with his Nature Magic.
And Alix was ruthless when it came to hand to hand combat.
Under Marinette's guidence, The Leaves Of Rebirth soon made a name for themselves, unfortunately, the same could not be said for The Fangs Of Heaven.
Guildmaster Izzy made good on his punishment, unable to accept any high-ranking Quests, they were stuck doing seccond-rate quests to pass the time, needless to say Adrien was not happy.
To make matters worse, the team had been having difficulty taking on the lower-rank dungeons, for some reason, their attacks weren't as powerfull as they used to be.
Fangs Of Heaven HQ...
"Dude, we need to talk..." Adrien said.
Nino turned to his friend, "What is it?"
"It's about what went on in that dungeon, we almost died in there!" Adrien said, "You're our sheild, and those Goblins almost swarmed us!"
"Dude, i used my Iron Skin skill, but those things were tough as hell!" Nino.
"It's not just him Adrien..." Alya said as she came downstairs, "i threw my best spells at those things, but all it did was piss them off, and your Blade of Judgement didn't even faze them."
"Guys, we're all just a little tired, we're all just upset that Alix left us, but no worries, i put out a summons for new members, we can still come out on top!" Adrien said.
Nino was unsure of his leader's words, "Dude, maybe Mari wasn't kidding when she said she wanted all the EXP we got from her back, ever since she left, the team hasn't been the same..."
That was met with a punch in the face, sending Nino into a wall!
"Don't..Ever...Mention...That...Name...Again..GOT IT?" Adrien roared.
Nino nodded, he had never seen Adrien that pissed.
"Marinette was only holding us back, so she got stronger, so what! she is a Half-Breed, nothing more..."Alya said in agreement.
Nino just stood there, what the hell happened to his friends?
Back with the Leaves of Rebirth...
Marinette and the others were at The Drunken Phoenix, celebrating another succesfull quest, liberating a caravan of slaves from their captors, Ironcrest, Hyguard's sister city is notorious for it's illegal slave trade and human traficking.
T.K was oddly pleasent to be arround, despite being so young, he was well-mannered, especially to girls, and his combat skills were seccond to none, Sabrina found him adorable, like an axe-weilding puppy.
Alix simply smiled, she made the right choice joining Marinette's party.
Marinette was deep in thought however, she was looking at a particular dungeon she had her eye on for a while, The Giant King's Fortress.
The Giant King, Garogaro, was one of the Demon King's top generals, he towerd over all other Giants, but what Marinette was interested in was the weapon he kept in his treasure hoard, The Giant Slayer Sword, Gigasbane!
T.K smiled as he sipped his apple cider, the tresure in that fortress was fit for 50 kings, if they conqured that dungeon, they would be legends.
"Marinette, i know what you thinking and i want in!" chirped T.K
Sabrina nodded, it would be a perfect chance to put all they have learned to the test!
Alix nodded, her cat-like tail twitching in excitement.
Adventurer's Guild...
"YOU WANT TO WHAT?" cried Guildmaster Izzy.
"We'd like to take on the Giant King's Fortress please." asked Marinette.
Everyone in the guild was silent, save for Guildmaster Izzy.
"Although at your current rank, you have that right, but i strongly suggest you tackle a lower rank dungeon first, every party that ever entered that forsaken fortress never came back..EVER!" the Guildmaster explained.
"True, but i have fath in my team, besides, we all agreed that this would be a perfect way to put our skills to the test!" said Marinette.
"Marinette, in the short time that i known you and your friends, i've had the honnor of watching you lot grow as a team, many good people like you died in that hellhole, the Giant King is no joke, he wasn't on of the Demon King's generals for nothing, for god's sake, when the Demon King was still alive, he would demon a sacrifice of 5 virgin women, 1 for every month of winter, just to devour them after violating them." Izzy explained, "But, if you think you can beat him, i have faith in you."
With a nod from Marinette, Izzy stamped the request paper, Approving the quest.
Marintte hugged the young guildmaster, Izzy then whispered in her ear.
"You come back to us safely, all right, I wouldn't be able to look your parent's in the eye if anything happened" he said...
