The news about the meteors' crash-landing in Adventure City and the revelation of Victoria's involvement in the catastrophe spread like wildfire across the country and worldwide. Everywhere the news went, there has been widespread condemnation for the mad yet eccentric scientist for recklessly endangering human life, Adventure City, the PAW Patrol, and the Power Rangers with her whacked-out plans to prove herself to the world that she's not as mad as everyone knew she is.
Needless to say, everybody was not pleased with Victoria's stunt and even Sam didn't mince any words as he laid down his report update regarding the incident, "At approximately 7:21 PM tonight, two meteors which were meant to safely pass by the planet via the Stufful Constellation suddenly veered off course, crashing into Adventure City and causing mass destruction. I almost got SPLOT! Ahem, okay. Anyway, the Mad Scientist, Dr. Victoria Vance, was just recently arrested after taking credit for the disaster online."
He then showed everybody watching the news Victoria's live stream including the part when she celebrated her short-lived success before it all went wrong for her, "Yes! HA-HA! I did it! Me, Victoria Vance!"
At that, Sam winced as he remarked with a sly grin and pointed at her, "Yikes! That's an open-and-shut case right there if I've ever seen one."
At the same time, following her unexpected confession and after Ryan, his team, and Angel trailed the live stream back to her, Victoria was immediately arrested and sent to Adventure City Prison, where the foulest and most despicable inmates are locked up for major crimes they committed, being thrown into her cell no thanks to her lack of concern for all life around her, her lack of common sense, and most of all, her pride.
"You can't look me up in here! Do you know who I am?! You'll be hearing from my lawyer! YA HEAR ME? I'm the greatest scientist in the world!" she raged at the guards who brought her in and ignored her as they left.
"More like the maddest scientist in the world."
"A crazed lady with no brains and who's all talk and no go," the two guards sniggered, infuriating her.
"I HEARD THAT, YOU DINGBOTS! I AM NOT A MAD SCIENTIST!"
But, it was no use as the guards shut the door and left her in silence, leaving her to fume in anger before she sighed in defeat and went over to her bed. However, she wasn't the only inmate in Adventure City prison as she got a surprise in the form of Mayor Humdinger and Cawthorn poking their heads out from their respective cells (the two of them separated from each other so they wouldn't try anything funny to escape) along with two other figures in orange prison jumpsuits in their own prison cells.
The first of the unknown figures was a 45-year-old middle-aged woman who had messy dark-blonde hair and the other was a middle-aged man at 47 years old with short brown hair. Both of them, however, ignored Victoria as they remained inside their cells and bristled in silent fury; they were none other than Race's biological parents: Rosa and Jacob.
"Hello, Roomie," quipped Humdinger as his Kitten Catastrophe Crew meowed in greeting to their fellow inmate.
But, it wasn't all doom and gloom; for Della, the arrest of her former owner meant that for the first time in eight years, she was finally free and away from the old observatory. When the police came to arrest Victoria for her heinous crime, she snuck aboard one of the police cars before she could be found out (one of them having a partially opened window) and jumped out on the way to Adventure City Prison.
At long last, for the first time in her life, Della was finally out and about.
"Ooooh...!" Similar to how Riki (KingRanger) from Choriki Sentai OhRanger felt as he experienced Earth for the first time in 600 million years, Della grinned at the starry night sky despite feeling immense culture shock given that she had been isolated from the outside world and everything living in it, both good and evil.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for her as she aimlessly wandered the streets of Adventure City, seeing all of the lights and sounds of the tall buildings towering over her and the people and animals going about their business as usual and realizing she, on the other hand, was technically a country gal in the middle of it all. It was like a whole new world opened up to her the moment she took her first steps in it; she didn't know where to look or what to do first.
"Whoa... So, this is what human civilization is like. Everything feels, smells, and looks so different. Much better than that stinkin' garbage can on that dumb island, that's for sure," Della thought as she looked around, not caring where she was going and still being entranced by everything around her. "Why would Victoria want to keep me away from all of this? It doesn't look too bad so why take me to the old science dumpster after adopting me on the spot?"
Della was left in so much awe by what she was seeing from Adventure City and was enjoying her new lease on life so much that she forgot to watch where she was going as she bumped into another figure in front of her with a loud "OOF!".
The little anti-social Mixed Breed landed on the ground by her right side and she shook her head to get rid of the stars and birds around her head. When she got her bearings, however, she was surprised to see that she bumped into not one but two pups in front of her.
The first pup was a Catahoula Leopard Dog that had mostly dark gray fur and lighter gray fur on his legs, around his eyes, his muzzle, parts of his chest, and his underbelly. In addition, he was covered in darker spots on his body and his tail tip was in a similar dark shade.
The second pup by his side was none other than a Belgian Shepard that had a dark burgundy face contrasting with his body that was in a lighter shade of burgundy, instead having gray markings on his chest, muzzle, underbelly, legs, and lower interior part of his tail.
"Oops, sorry..." Della gulped worriedly as the pups got their bearings and noticed her, smiling at her presence.
"Hey, there, kid. What brings ya to these parts, ya lost?" the Belgian Shepherd pup greeted warmly.
"Um... Yeah, sort of, just wandering around. My name's Della, who are you?"
"I'm Scooby and this is brother, Scrappy. This is our first time catching a glimpse of you, Del, never knew you were here," smiled the Catahoula Leopard, gesturing to himself and his brother.
"Yeah, I'm new here and I've never seen-wait, brothers? You're brothers?" Della nodded before she grew confused and looked between the pair.
The Catahoula Leopard and Belgium Shepherd looked between her and each other and laughed before they said to her, "Nah, it's okay. Does seem strange to some but to us, it doesn't matter."
"We've been brothers since we first met each other. Been through thick and thin all our lives, never one to miss a beat between us despite how we looked; that's how it's always been. Besides, in this big, big world, no matter who we are, what we are, or where we came from, we're all family, dig?"
"Yeah... It's just that, I've never seen other pups like you before. Um, wanna hang out, or, um...?" Della smiled after a while; she was starting to grow fond of Scooby and Scrappy and she figured they could be the friends she needed after so long despite her inept social skills.
"Sure! Come on!"
"You're gonna love Adventure City, Del! Best digs in the house with all you can imagine!" Scooby and Scrappy agreed, eager to have Della as a new friend as they took her for a grand circle tour around the city (all of them unaware of the adventure they were going to have after meeting each other for the first time).
Back to our heroes; Rayquaza, satisfied that nobody had been hurt from the meteors, returned to his territory and the meteors were secured in the cargo bays of the PAW Patrol's Aircraft Carrier thanks to Rocky and Arcia getting them there via a forklift.
They and the others were not too happy about Victoria's stint in proving her worth as the world's greatest scientist and were glad that she immediately got her "Just Deserts" thanks to her confession but they had to make the most of their bad situation and hope for the best. This included salvaging what the PAW Patrol and Ryder have left of their old Adventure City tower and making the Aircraft Carrier their permanent Adventure City HQ for the time being (the same being said for the Ultra Rescue Rangers despite having not lost anything of value to them), all while looking over the meteors and wondering what she wanted with them.
"It looks like they stopped glowing after we brought them in," Skye noted as Rocky and Arcia carefully moved the meteors onto two platforms to hold them for testing and analyzing.
"Maybe that's a good thing. Believe it or not," Chase replied, whispering to Skye and Cadence, "The glowing freaks me out."
"Whatever Victoria wanted with these two must be for something powerful and these meteors have what she was looking for," Angel theorized as she eyed the meteors the heroes salvaged.
"And, whatever energy source is in them from what happened to the streetlights and the lights from the buildings nearby must contain power we've never seen before," Robin admitted.
"From my scans, just by seeing how they were blinking and beating earlier, it sounded as though they were alive. Like they're almost sentient beings even if they're inanimate," Cyborg added in agreement as Sarah and Ryder came in with two large scanning machines and placed them above the meteors.
"Mondo energy that could result in mass destruction from outer space such as what happened back on the street and to your towers," nodded Beast Boy, remembering the damage done to the heart of Adventure City and the towers.
"These things will analyze the meteors and tell us what they're made of. We'll leave them scanning overnight and see what we can learn tomorrow," Ryder informed.
After that, Ryder showed the PAW Patrol pups their new Sleep Quarters with new bunks and beds made for them as they each picked a bunk and bed, all of them feeling glad that they still had somewhere to sleep after a hectic night. The others went to sleep in the Dragon Carrier (with Liberty and the Junior Patrollers deciding to sleep with the PAW Patrol and Ryder for the night to comfort them and keep them company via their own beds) while Angel, Ryan, and the Adventure City Police Force returned to Adventure City and their own homes for the night, all of them eager to find out what they'll eventually learn about the meteors.
"Alright, pups, time for bed. We got a long day ahead of us tomorrow."
While the other pups were settling into their new bunks nicely, Skye noticed the only remaining top bunk meant for her and she tried to jump inside, her small framework and legs making it hard for her to do so as she grunted.
"Need a little help over there, Skye?" Ryder quizzed his cockapoo.
"No! No, I got it!" Skye grunted, trying to get into the top bunk.
She pushed herself up and finally got her bed but in doing so, she rolled and hit the wall, opening up a small cubby hole that contained a few of the things she managed to salvage from the wreckage of the Adventure City Pup Tower. Amongst them were a small book, a ball, and a comb for her fur but when she turned to the last thing she needed to put away (after tucking the other stuff away), she found a small pink bandana and solemnly looked at it. Without another word and feeling downcast after taking some time to think about it, she sighed sadly and put the bandana back in her cubby hole before closing it.
"Goodnight, Pups. If you need me, I'll be down the hall. As for Sarah and the others, they'll be in the Dragon Carrier; the transportation system built into the Aircraft Carrier can transport you between them should you need to see any of us," Ryder smiled with a yawn as he made his way to the door.
Even so, Rubble had his doubts as he sadly called out, "Ryder?"
"Yeah, Rubble?"
"I miss the Pup Tower. I don't like sleeping in new places; I'm never going to be able to get to sleep after what happened tonight."
"I know... Well, we've all had a long day. From the fire at Hank and Janet's scrapyard to the meteors brought down to Earth by Dr. Vance, you're probably more tired than you think," comforted Ryder before he heard Rubble snoring and saw him on his back, snoring and sleeping away peacefully (instantly making his previous complaint null and void).
"You rest your case, Ryder," Cadence snarked cheekily, getting a chuckle out of the other pups and Ryder.
"See ya in the morning," the hero boy smiled in amusement, bidding goodnight to the PAW Patrol, Liberty, and the Junior Patrollers before he left.
The night wore on out on the pier and all was quiet in Adventure City following Victoria's arrest and the destruction of the Pup and Ultra Rescue Towers. That is apart from the occasional rhythmic humming that came from the Aircraft Carrier, churning the water and making small pulsating waves.
Even the Poms, Liberty, and the PAW Patrol were fast asleep in their bunk bed chamber as they didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. However, in addition to the rhythmic humming, there was a light that kept blinking on and off that eventually aroused Skye from her slumber (the little cockapoo grumbling in her sleep thinking that it was Rubble fiddling around with the lights to keep him distracted from missing the destroyed Pup Tower).
"Rubble, quit messing with the light!" she whispered in annoyance as she tossed and turned until she woke up and looked at him, "Rubble!"
To her surprise, however, she noticed that Rubble was still snoring away on his bunk bed and was nowhere near the light switch; as he was a heavy sleeper and the most energetic and hungriest out of all the pups, he was also one to tire more easily at the end of the day and sleep through anything.
She looked at the other pups and realized they were all still fast asleep as the lights went on and off again which only she noticed.
"What is that?"
Curious about the light, she quietly crawled out of her bunk and slowly crept out of the bunk bed chamber, nudging the door open slightly and turning to her right to find out that the light that woke her up was coming from the end of the hall. More specifically, it was coming from out of the Aircraft Carrier's cargo hold that contained the meteors she and the others had salvaged.
Entranced by the light, she crept slowly forward toward the cargo hold, and with every step she took, she couldn't help but wonder if the meteors were the ones making the pulsating lights that woke her up. She recalled Angel, Robin, Cyborg, and Beast Boy's words and theories about the meteors and why Dr. Vance would want them so badly after confessing to bringing them to Earth in her selfish ploy to prove herself as a master scientist, wondering what could happen if the mad scientist had gotten their hands on them before they did.
She could've turned back the other way and thought it was all just a crazy dream but deep down, she knew that it was all happening in real time. With every step that took her closer to the cargo hold, the rhythmic chiming grew louder and the light coming from the meteors grew brighter. When she finally reached the door separating the cargo hold from her and entered the room, Skye realized that there was no turning back now; she had to press on and find out more about them herself.
Without delay, and with a feeling of dread lingering in her stomach, she went up the flight of stairs leading to the cargo hold's computer equipment until finally, she came across the meteors that confirmed what she was thinking; the meteors were indeed the source of the light that woke her up. What's more, they were still pulsating with their lights and unknown energy which resulted in the scanners giving off unusual energy surges.
Feeling like she had nothing to lose and despite her cat's curiosity, the little cockapoo inched closer to the meteors and got on the platforms holding them until she was at point-blank range of their energy surges. However, when she heard the sound of footsteps entering the cargo hold after, she gasped and turned only to find Loki and Kaulu, Hiccup and Zenna's Riolu, and Toothless wide awake as well (but without Hiccup joining them). The two of them looked at Skye and the cockapoo could tell what they were thinking just by looking at their eyes; they too were concerned about the meteors and they wanted to see what Victoria was after since she brought them down for a reason before they destroyed the towers.
Seeing as they took the initiative to sneak aboard the Aircraft Carrier and curious about the meteors as she was, she said nothing and nodded, allowing them to help her look them over. Gently striding their way over to the meteors, they eventually touched them and they got an immediate reaction from it. As if they felt their paws on them, the meteors gave off a powerful shockwave that short-circuited the electricity in the Aircraft Carrier for a moment before the power booted back up, causing them to lose their glow (leaving the four of them in awe and fascination).
"Weird..." she commented as she looked at her front right paw before the meteors cracked and split in two and she gulped, thinking that they were in trouble for meddling with them and Ryder or their friends heard them (Toothless cowering as he held his legs and claws over his head and Loki and Kaulu holding each other tightly in fright as they flinched). "We didn't do it!"
However, looking from side to side, they realized that they were still alone in the Aircraft Carrier's cargo hold and nobody woke up as a result of what the quartet did. Seconds later, without any of them knowing, six small lights slipped out from the back of the meteors while they looked inside to find something surprising.
Inside both meteors, the two Riolu, Skye, and Toothless gasped as they saw what appeared to be eight crystal shards in the meteor belonging to the PAW Patrol and the second meteor held forty, producing a total of forty-eight crystal shards in all.
"Whoa..." Loki and Kaulu gasped in awe.
"...Skye, I think these meteors are nothing like the ones you, your friends, and Sarah told us about," muttered Toothless, astounded and leaving Skye to nod in agreement, speechless.
"Were they supposed to have crystals inside them?"
"No way, there couldn't be anything like these things in meteors. If they were full of life, there would've been alien specimens in them and we all know that apart from those in games and movies, there's no such thing as real-live aliens," Kaulu and Toothless bantered as Loki used his Aura to examine the crystals and found something off-putting about them.
"…Guys, I'm sensing some strange supernatural energy in them," the male Riolu belonging to Hiccup chirped anxiously before he saw Skye cautiously reaching out to touch two of the crystals closest to her. "Skye, wait! Don't-!"
But, it was too late; as soon as Skye touched the crystals, they hummed and they suddenly felt a surge of energy through their bodies with Skye's fur frizzling and fluffing up as she found herself floating in the air. She yelped in surprise as she tried to claw her way back to the floor before knocking the crystals out and making them bounce across from them before they landed on the ground.
"No way...…" she breathed in stunned shock as she went to examine the shards again before one of them shook and attached itself to her Pup Tag while the other one remained on the ground with Hiccup's friends.
Amazed by this, the little sky pup gently touched the shard attached to her Pup Tag and she was floating in the air again, "Whoa, whoa...what, WHOA!"
"Skye, tell us what's going on!" Toothless warbled as he, Loki, and Kaulu were taken aback.
But, Skye didn't answer; she was becoming enthralled and more amazed by what she was doing thanks to the crystal shard on her as she slowly came to grips with her new ability to fly after steadying herself. Feeling like there was more to do with what she, Loki, Toothless, and Kaulu found, she decided to do a little test as she went to one of the Aircraft Carrier's shipping containers and lifted it into the air. The two Riolu and the Night Fury watching were shocked as their eyes bugged out and their jaws dropped, realizing that in addition to her flight ability, Skye had also gained the ability to lift heavy objects that were many times her weight and size (AKA Super Strength).
"Looks like the smallest pup just became the strongest pup," she grinned as she twirled the shipping container and set it down on the ground before she hovered for a moment. "Alright, let's see what this little thing can do."
She then zoomed down the hall and, unfortunately, lost control of what is her ability to go fast (AKA Super Speed) and ended up crashing into her friends' Bunker Room, surprising everybody inside as they woke up and let out shocked gasps and surprised yelps at her.
Hearing the unexpected crash, Ryder woke up and immediately entered, worried for the pups as he noticed the busted wall and asked, "What's going on, is everything okay?"
"SKYE!/Hey, Skye!" cried Toothless, Loki, and Kaulu as they barged past him and checked Skye all over, wondering if she hurt herself from her surprise flight of speed.
"Are you hurt?"
"Are you okay? Anything broken?"
"Are you crazy?! You could've died doing that!"
"Loki, Kaulu, Toothless, what's going on here?" Ryder blinked in bewilderment, not expecting Toothless along with Hiccup and Zenna's Partner Pokémon to be in the Aircraft Carrier.
"I'm alright, Ryder. But, apparently, those two meteors we picked up... They have crystal shards and I just got superpowers," Skye said as she floated in the air once more.
"Whoa...!"
"No way," the PAW Patrol and Chase gasped in shock.
"Wow, superpowers... Guess we now know why Victoria wanted the meteors on Earth so badly. Ryan, Angel, and the others are gonna flip big time," remarked a stunned Ryder.
"Mmm, this is the weirdest dream I've ever had," Rubble quipped, feeling groggy as he was still asleep.
"Uh, Rubble, you might wanna wake up. You're not dreaming, it did happen," Marshall noted, still in shock as he looked between the pup below him and Skye.
"Oh... Well, this is the weirdest 'awake' I ever had."
"Rubble!" shouted Cadence hysterically at the carefree bulldog pup as she and everyone else laughed at him.
Once they got their bearings and recomposed themselves, the PAW Patrol immediately woke up Angel and Ryan and called them over along with the others from the Dragon Carrier. With everybody gathered, they began to harvest the meteors' crystal shards (all of them unaware of the six lights that had wormed their way out unbeknownst to Skye, Toothless, Loki, and Kaulu still).
Once the rest of the 48 shards were all out and gathered, leaving the heroes wondering what they should do with them, they shimmered without warning and vibrated a bit before six of them attached Chase, Marshall, Zuma, Rubble, Rocky, and Liberty's Pup Tags.
Sixteen of the shards, however, made their way to the Pup Tags of the Dragonstone Patrol, and seven more shards ended up touching Hiccup, Zenna, Astrid, Fishlegs, Snotlout, Ruffnut, and Tuffnut's Wrist Coms. Between them and Skye, thirty of the meteors' crystal shards had found their way to new owners while the other eighteen shards remained untouched and with no new owners at the moment.
The ones that were chosen by the shards wondered what would happen to them until Chase noticed a change in Marshall as he noticed his paws glowing in a red light.
"Whoa, Marshall! Look at your paws!" gasped Chase.
"Uh, Tuff, Ruff... Look," Hiccup blinked, seeing the twins' hands glowing red as well.
Curious as to what they were talking about, the trio in question turned their hands and paws over and saw fireballs starting to materialize.
"Wicked/Wow!" the Viking twins gasped in amazement.
"Is that fire? Legit fire, for real?!"
"What are the odds of that?" Barf and Belch breathed in awe at their riders.
"Whoa, you're right! It's some kind of fireball and it's much stronger than the flames from my Mighty Pup powers," the fire pup said in fascination.
"Well, that does make sense since you're the fire pup out of all of us," Chase quipped.
"Yeah, that element does make sense for Ruffnut and Tuffnut. Hardly surprising given that they love blowing stuff up for the fun of it," Hiccup added dryly, not liking where this was going for the twins.
"Oh, brother," Zangoose and Seviper groaned as they facepalmed/face-tailed.
"Is such a thing even fathomable for children and pups like them?" questioned May, the mother of Jun and her brother Eugene and the director of ICARIS, in total disbelief as she adjusted her glasses.
"It seems to defy every known law of science, May, but it appears so," Olivia quipped, sharing May's surprise.
"If that's the case, I wonder what your powers are, Chase. And, since one of the shards touched you, Hiccup, you oughta have powers, too," Marshall pondered, looking at Chase and Hiccup before they suddenly zipped away in flashes of blue and purple. "Wha-?"
"Hey!"
"Son?!" Toothless and Stoick cried, baffled at Hiccup's disappearance.
"Hey, guys, up here!" Chase called as the trio looked to see him and Hiccup on the flight of stars on the other side of the cargo hold. "My Mighty Pup Super Speed is back and I'm faster than ever now!"
"Hey! How'd you get over there so fast compared to back then?"
"Get over where?" Hiccup smirked as he and Hiccup zipped back and spooked Marshall and the twins, causing them to scream and lose their fireballs with Liberty, D'Angelo, Eugene, Ryan, and Rosebud yelping as they dodged the balls.
Unfortunately, the balls (one of them also coming from Tuffnut's mouth after he screamed) destroyed one of the computers and set it aflame, surprising everybody and causing Marshall and Chase to go silent in their embarrassment over their unexpected stint with Ruffnut and Tuffnut looking at what they did in awe.
"Whoa..."
"Cool..."
"...EPIC BLAST! UNGH!" the twins breathed before they smirked and banged their helmets together in personal celebration.
"Wicked/Cool!" Barf and Belch grinned with delight.
"Crap!"
"Not cool," Seviper and Zangoose blurted out, shocked and annoyed.
"Okay, that was...….hot, and dangerous," Raven (Teen Titan) quipped sarcastically.
"Dangerous to a heated degree," agreed her Demon-Wolf counterpart.
"Great, now the clumsy pup and the Boom-Boom Twins are shooting fireballs out of their paws, hands, and mouths," Liberty grumbled as she, Ryan, Eugene, Rosebud, and D'Angelo got up, unharmed from the accidental surprise attack.
"Awesome! With that kind of firepower, any bad guys who want to cause trouble and disturb the peace will have to go through them!" Eugene praised, impressed.
"Eugene, are you crazy?! With how they handled those balls, they're walking fire hazards by this point!" D'Angelo ranted.
"Marshall, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, you idiots, you and Chase have destroyed one of the Aircraft Carrier's computers and nearly burned us alive!" Ryan raged in annoyance, causing the quartet in question to flinch and smile sheepishly at him while Snotlout and Hookfang laughed their heads off at them. "There's a reason why people and animals are not supposed to play with fire like that! The finances we'll need for repairs to that computer will be ghastly for us to pay for! You've broken it!"
"Uh, sorry, Ryan, we didn't know any better!"
"Yeah, it was an accident!" Chase and Marshall defended meekly as Ruffnut and Tuffnut nodded sheepishly in agreement.
"Chill, broski, chill," B-Dawg said to Ryan, trying to calm him down.
"Don't worry, Commander, I got it," Zuma reassured as he came up alongside them and raised his paws.
As he focused himself, his paws glowed a blue light and he sprayed the computer with water, putting out the fire which got him excited as he quipped, "Whoa... Dudes, did you see that? I'm, like, one with the water!" He then turned into a puddle of water and went back to his original form which was a form of Elemental Metamorphosis.
"Look at him! He turned into my element and back into a pup!" Aiyon gasped in awe and amazement.
"Dude! That is so rad!"
"Awesome, Zuma! You can transform into water now!" Beast Boy and Ash grinned excitedly.
"Amazing!"
"Now, that is a fascinating display right there!" beamed Alex's mothers, Hazel and Carla, a married bisexual couple and biologists of Rakke Corp.
"Pawsome!" Chase grinned.
"Whoa! Guys, look at Rocky and what he's doing!" Amelia gasped in amazement as they all turned to the male Mixed Breed, seeing him lifting one of the forklifts he and Arcia used to salvage and transport the meteors with his new ability: Magnesium.
"Oh, Flagors! Rocky, you're lifting that forklift with ease and with no strings attached!" quipped an astounded Solon.
"Yeah, check me out, Solon, everybody! I'm a walking magnet now!" grinned Rocky excitedly before a spoon suddenly stuck to his paw followed by another and another before a ton of spoons caught onto him with the surprise addition of Liberty's Pup Tag. "Oops! Sorry about that, Liberty."
"Hey, guys! Look at me! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! My Charged Up Mighty Pup Spherical Ball Form is back and better than ever! I'm now an invincible wrecking ball!" Rubble laughed heartily as he and Fishlegs rolled around with yellow rock-like energy surrounding them.
"H-hey! Yeah! Me, me too! Check it out, you guys! Ha-ha, this is great!" Fishlegs hollered ecstatically as he was having fun with his new earth powers before they soon rolled off the edge and crash-landed into a pile of wooden boxes down below.
"Whoa! Rubble, Fishlegs, are you two okay?" Ryder asked, worried for the pair.
"Rock 'n Roll!"
"Great! You should try this, guys, it's fun! YAAAHOOOO!" the pair grinned as they gave off typical rock and roll signs before they rolled off again.
"Oh, man... Rubble and Fishlegs shouldn't have survived that fall even with those supernatural powers, how did they do it? That's impossible! It can't be true!" Alex gawked in stunned shock, unable to see the logic behind such a supernatural occurrence.
"How is it all possible? There's no explanation behind it all!" May agreed, feeling overwhelmed and in a state of science-defying panic.
"As with Sarah and her family and friends, as we always said, 'Everything's possible, even the impossible'," Hiccup put in matter-of-factly.
"Yeah, I mean, should you guys really be questioning the logic at this point?" Astrid chuckled in agreement.
"Bloody hell... If I didn't know any better and from what Ryder and the PAW Patrol told us regarding their previous adventures, the crystals from the meteor belonging to them have given the pups superpowers. But, not just any superpowers - improved versions of their old ones and new abilities as well," Ryan breathed in fascination as he began to put two and two together.
"I'll say; last time this happened in Adventure Bay, another meteor similar to it gave them and Everest superpowers in the first place," Angel agreed.
"You got that right; Ryder and the others told us that they were given superpowers through a radiation blast of the meteor in their possession back at Adventure Bay," Wild concurred.
"But, now, instead of a radiation blast from that meteor..."
"...They're given far stronger versions of their old powers as well as new ones just from the crystal shards they now hold," Shade and Rory added.
"And, what's more, the pups now have a solid conductor to boost and or control their new powers by holding the Mighty Pup energy they have within themselves," Solon then deducted.
"And, that's with the crystal shards. It also meant that they should be able to have two or three abilities on them now," Raven (Demon-Wolf) replied.
"Hmm... I wonder," Hiccup pondered as he looked at his right hand and a thought came to him.
Deciding to put his crystal to the test on another front, he concentrated and found himself floating in mid-air and lifting one of the shipping containers as Skye had done beforehand. By that, he discovered that he can fly naturally and has Super Strength as well so he now has three abilities on him thanks to his crystal shard.
Wanting to follow Hiccup's example, Zenna concentrated, closing her hands and making them into fists before she opened them upright and out popped plasma blasts called Plasma Grenades from her palms. Amazed by this, she threw them into the air, causing them to explode into beautiful blue and white sparkles.
"Whoa! Did you see that, Stryka? I can shoot Plasma Grenades just like you! Now, I can give you and Kaulu a hand with your blasts!" Zenna grinned at her female Night Fury.
"Now, you're talking my game, girl!"
"YIPPEE!" cheered Stryka and Kaulu as the former shared a fist bump with her rider.
"That's hot stuff! Cool stuff, at that!" Tom complemented with an excited grin.
"I'll say, that stuff's the bomb!" Thunder remarked excitedly.
Astrid gave her crystal shard a test run and to her amazement, she discovered that her arms were now sparking with electricity before two rod-like weapons made out of lightning appeared in her hands, "Whoa, electrifying..."
"That's incredible, Astrid! You can control electricity now and create those stick-like weapons in your hands!"
"Yeah! I can't wait to see you try those babies out, you can even use them as one to clobber your baddies with!" Stormfly and Axew smirked.
"Really?" Astrid blinked before she put the sticks together and they combined into one Japanese Bo stick out of that same electricity she was giving off. "Wow...!"
"Dang it! How come they get their powers first? What about me, I'm the best Viking between us! What's my power like?" Snotlout grumbled jealously as he sat on Hookfang before the Monstrous Nightmare grinned cheekily and lit himself up for fun. "GAH! Hookfang, wha-?!"
Suddenly, without warning, he turned invisible and vanished from sight, startling everybody as he yelped, "Hey! Wha-I'm gone! Guys!"
"Snot!" Deino barked, aghast.
"Whoa!"
"Snotlout!"
"He vanished!" Talonflame, Quilava, and the dragonets yelped.
"Where'd he go?" spluttered Appletun, looking around for him frantically.
"Hey! Sarah, Snotlout just vanished into thin air!" Flygon screamed.
"But, he couldn't possibly have Super Speed like Hiccup and Chase or the ability to teleport unlike Sarah and her friends or Zayto and his team using their Wrist Coms!"
"Where else could he go?" Zorro and Blossom blinked in bewilderment.
"How should we know?"
"Does anybody know what power that shard gave Snotlout?" Hikari and Frostbite pondered in response.
"I think that's some form of invisibility and by the looks of it, when Hookfang lit up his flames, Snotlout can turn invisible whenever he's in, on, or touching fire!"
"So, we should call it Pyrokinetic Invisibility then, huh?" Sarah and Race deducted as Astrid chuckled.
"Well, Snot's always the one to burn up Hookfang and make him set himself on fire. I guess that's one way for him to shut Ol' Bigmouth up," the tomboy Viking grinned slyly.
"Very funny, Astrid; you're lucky you can't see me right now, or else, I would've clobbered ya!" snapped Snotlout in annoyance as Hookfang dimmed his Flame Jacket and Snotlout appeared again, no longer coming into contact with his flames. "Hey! Whoa, what just happened?"
He then sniffed, realizing that something was burning before he jumped off his dragon until he realized he was on fire, his pants still a blaze from Hookfang's Flame Jacket as he screamed and ran around the cargo hold.
All Deino and Hookfang could do was laugh at his expense while an amused Zuma doused him with his Waterkinesis, earning him a sigh of relief and a thankful wave before he passed out.
Sarah just winced sheepishly as she admitted, "Well, I guess that's the downside to Pyrokinetic Invisibility for a start; as you found out, Snotlout, one: you have to be touching or be in any source of fire all the time, and, two: you're not fireproof."
"Well, at least we know Pyrokinetic Invisibility isn't destructive so that's a saving grace," Star commented.
Curious about their powers, Harmony and her fellow Dragonstone Patrol pups decided to give their new powers a test drive, discovering that the shards had also given them new abilities and boosted their old powers as well:
- Harmony's Omni-Negation ability was supercharged; Jazz could now generate wind with a great deal of control despite flubbing up a bit; Aurora's Omnifabrication was also supercharged as she was able to create anything at a faster rate while making whatever she builds more durable in the process; Meadow gained the ability to manipulate plants; Zoey can now use Abjurations (protective magical spells used mainly for defense); Cam can now manipulate electricity at will; and Arcia uses Creation Magic (the ability to create anything out of thin air and according to her thoughts/what she and her team/family needed depending on their current circumstances)
- Brooke's invulnerability was supercharged as well (but boosted to the levels of Superman from Zack Snyder's Justice League); Mei now has Danger Detection (the power for one to detect impending threats of all sorts); Blue was given Dinosaur Transmutation as she turned one of the nearby wooden crates into the cousin of the velociraptor called an austroraptor; and Ace now has Mineral Manipulation that allows him to manipulate minerals at will
- Trooper was given the Shield Manipulation ability (granting him the power to use, create, and manipulate shields as he liked against his foes) along with the ability to create and use snow constructs and teleportation without the need for a physical object such as a Wrist Com (giving him three supercharged/new powers in total); Barley has a new subsidiary of his Agriculture Manipulation ability called Food Manipulation (allowing the Baker Pup to create, shape and manipulate food and other edible substances, including their shapes, amounts, tastes, appearances, and so on); Hayden's Shadow Camouflage ability was no longer on a time limit and he can hold it whenever he can now; Heart can use dragon attacks akin to the ones used by Dragon Type Pokémon; and Tail can create and use Water Constructs
"Looks like the Dragonstone Patrol got themselves a cluster of brand new and improved powers to give them a real fighting edge," Zayto grinned in approval.
"That's cool, why can't we get anything like those?" Javi questioned, impressed.
"Oh, my Thor... Is this for real? We're superheroes, now? We got our very own powers from shiny crystals, just like that?" This is the best day of my life!" Zenna shrieked in delight.
"Your girl just can't stop her streak of good luck from helping her find the craziest of stuff, huh, kid?" Stoutland quizzed at Blitz.
"Hey, it didn't happen too often for my liking. Besides, that kind of thing kept us and our family from getting bored, thankfully," the Alolan male Pikachu shot back at the Monstrous Nightmare.
"What about you, Cadence? Aren't you getting a shard?" Rosebud puzzled the Alaskan Malamute.
"Nah, I don't need one. Why should I get more powers when I already have enough on me as it is? I think somebody out there is more deserving of my shard if there is one," Cadence admitted before Petunia cheekily played with a crystal shard and she tossed it over to Cadence as it attached to her Pup Tag, on purpose, giggling. "HEY!"
"Now, Ms. Petunia, honestly," Stoutland gently chastised as he came over and placed the female baby dragon on his back, chuckling in amusement. "I swear, you're just a bundle full of trouble if you're sometimes giving grief to your mother, family, and friends."
"Petunia, why do we always have to deal with your messes every time you solemnly swear that you're up to no good?" Sarah lectured with a gentle but disapproving frown as her baby dragon giggled innocently and replied with a simple "Yim-Yim!".
Then, as was the case with Marshall's powers after he discovered his Pyrokinesis, Sarah's paws glowed but more in a rainbow light that was more concentrated compared to how they glowed with her old Mighty Pup powers. The same can be said with her wings, surprising everybody including the PAW Patrol as none of them had ever seen her wings glow in a rainbow light.
"Uh, Cadence, your wings..."
"They're...They're glowing!" Skye and Chase babbled in awe, the Alaskan Malamute pup looking at her glowing wings in amazement and shock.
"They've never glowed like that before!" Ryder smiled in fascination.
"What does it mean?" Starfire questioned.
"Go ahead, Cadence. If you got powers like we do, try them out," Rocky offered.
Cadence looked at herself from her wings to her paws before she looked at Rocky and nodded, discovering that she had retained her Mighty Pup powers except they were also supercharged and she had greater control over them. Her new powers, on the other hand, consisted of Inaudibility (the ability to become completely silent like owls), high-speed flight (on account of her enhanced Eagle DNA), and Nature Creation (the ability to create environments, plants, or animals out of thin air because of her Water and Vine Manipulation abilities).
But, she also has Elemental Powers now in the form of Smoke Teleportation (a variation of teleportation using smoke) and the ability to create Crystal Constructs.
"No," Cadence breathed in total amazement.
"It is good that you have a crystal shard now, Ms. Cadence. Your powers will benefit most greatly from Petunia's happy little mishap," complemented Buddha.
"So, Queenie, now that we have seventeen crystal shards remaining, what do you suppose we do with them since they have their new owners?" Budderball asked Sarah.
"Well, these crystals are what Victoria's looking for given what she's put out in her live stream. If she's after them for their power and she uses them to demonstrate her twisted scientific prowess, she could get her revenge on us for throwing her behind bars for her failed experiment that nearly got us all killed," Sarah replied as she brought out a crystal carrying case and put the remaining shards inside.
"I gotcha; that mad scientist is not gonna quit until she breaks out and comes here for the shards for her nasty mad lab experiments."
"And, if she ends up snagging them and the other 31 from us, she could flip the entire world upside down and goof it up with her demented physics and mechanics," Beast Boy and Cyborg nodded, knowing what Sarah was thinking and wondering what would happen if Victoria escapes from prison and takes the shards without warning.
"Azelf, Uxie, Mesprit, put the crystals in a safe location in the Dragon Carrier and make it snappy. I don't want Victoria getting the drop on us and the PAW Patrol if she breaks out of prison somehow and we take them with us," Sarah ordered the Lake Guardians as she handed them the case.
"Right, Princess," Uxie replied as he, Mesprit, and Azelf nodded, making their way to the Dragon Carrier with the crystal case.
Amongst all of the pups, since she now has a crystal shard, Liberty wanted to test her powers out if she had any as she stood on some crates before Chase zoomed over to her.
"What's your power, Liberty?" he puzzled.
"That's a good question, I'm trying to figure it out. Okay, here we go... Superpowers in 3, 2, 1!" She tried to fly off some crates only to fall into the ground.
"Okay, scratch that. It's not the power of flight, bummer. That's because it's... Magnet Paws! Uh, nope," she grunted as she blew her right ear out of her face before she turned to a nearby fork left untouched by Rocky's supercharged Magnesium only to feel nothing.
Annoyed, she whacked the fork away before Rubble came rolling around her and she got excited, "I got it! I'm more of a supercharged wrecking ball! YEAH!"
Taking a few steps back, she ran but bumped into some more crates and slid onto the floor as everybody watched on awkwardly yet sympathetically; she didn't know what her superpower was no matter what she did and it was starting to grate on her.
"What's going on here?! I got no powers, not even a measly Sonic Howl. What a ripoff," she snorted.
"Skye can fly, Marshall can control fire, and Zuma turns to water... The commander may be right; it's as if these crystals amplified something about us," Chase explained which didn't make the jealous Dachshund any better.
"But, I'm just Liberty, an ordinary and no-show pup. What's my dig?"
"Well, maybe some superpowers needed some sort of trigger to be used. I don't use superpowers and yet I'm still able to defend myself and the people around me," Robin informed, leaving Liberty slightly distraught as she sighed and watched her PAW Patrol friends continue to demonstrate their powers.
"We know how it feels to be of no use to your friends, Liberty. Perhaps, an event of some sort will allow you to find and awaken your new power in time," Starfire reassured as she petted Sarah's dog.
But, despite Liberty's discontent with having no superpowers of her own, there was another surprise in store that could cheer her up in one way or another. As everybody marveled, gawked at, and complimented the superpowers belonging to the Viking Teens, the Dragonstone Patrol, and the PAW Patrol, little did they know about what else came out of the meteor in addition to the crystal shard.
"Hey, what are they?"
"Ooh! New friends!"
Everyone fell silent as they looked around in bewilderment, wondering who it was that spoke up until Sarah and Race got a funny feeling in their stomachs and looked down, spotting six tiny figures in front of them which caused them to gasp in surprise as they landed on their butts.
The six figures were indeed tiny, being around 4 inches/10 centimeters in height and length with large heads, big eyes, tails of different sizes, and bodies that had arms and legs (both of which lacked fingers and toes) resembling a phoenix, an African lion, a Mega Lion, a Smilodon, a Night Fury, and a Bald Eagle:
- the tiny phoenix (a female like Phoe-Phoe) had a tiny fiery red body with an underbelly, muzzle, and feather tuffs on her back in a faint shade of tan, yellow talons and a beak of the same color, and tail feathers of the traditional orange-red coloring phoenixes are known for
- the African and Mega Lions have beige bodies with underbellies and muzzles in a similar faint shade of tan but they have brown-amber eyes and the Mega Lion had small ruffs of a mane
- the Smilodon was cinnamon brown and had two pointed fangs about 8 inches long (doubling the size of her own body) with round ears, three vertical fainted stripes, and a matching stubbed tail
- the miniature Night Fury matched Zorya and Hawkeye in terms of its appearance but instead had green eyes
- the Bald Eagle instead has a tiny brown body with a large white head, brown talons and eyes, and a yellow beak
"Hey!"
"What are they?"
"Look at them!"
"Who are they?"
"Amazing..."
"Dudes, check it out!"
"Have you ever seen-?"
"No, I haven't!"
"Whoa!" Skye, Amelia, Tom, Angel, Aiyon, Zuma, Kiawe, Lana, and Ryder gasped in shock.
"Uh... Hi," Sarah began awkwardly, unsure of what to say while Race stayed silent and shared her awkwardness.
"Greetings, my name's Enix. This here's Simon, Paws, Snickers, Comet, and Admiral," the phoenix figure, Enix, greeted warmly, introducing herself and the other creatures.
"Ooooooookay... So, what are you?" Race blinked, still unsure of what to say after he and Sarah shared another awkward look.
"We're creatures known as Kwamis or what Hawaiians would call us 'Na'us'," Snickers, the tiny African Lion told them, smiling.
"Kwamis?"
"Na'us?" Kiawe and Jun echoed in confusion after recomposing themselves.
"I've heard of them; Kwamis are known to be divine beings formed whenever a new abstract idea or emotion comes into existence in the universe such as love, creation, beauty, and mathematics," Raven (Teen Titan) explained, being the most knowledgeable of divine beings and all things mystical.
"They're said to have existed since the birth of the universe which was at least 13.5 billion years ago," her demon wolf counterpart (whom everybody decided to call Twoie to not confuse the two Ravens before them) added.
Naturally, everybody yelped, gasped, and exclaimed in total shock as they realized that this fact alone made the tiny beings (now known as Kwamis) much older than the Spirits of Harmony and even the original Dino Fury team with Zayto and Aiyon along with Solon, being the first-ever beings to roam the universe after its creation.
"Yes. Many of us exist in the Parallel Universes of the Multiverse but those Kwamis are not known as of yet," Snickers nodded in confirmation before he sent an appreciative smile toward Skye. "We had been laying dormant in one of your meteors for many years until your kind-hearted cockapoo who's just as curious as a kitten freed us and we slipped out into the open."
Enix then took over again as she declared, "I am known as the Kwami of Morality. Snickers, Paws, and Simon are known as the Kwamis of Hope, Generosity, and Nobility."
"As for me, I'm the Kwami of Justice and Admiral here is the Kwami of Courage," Comet, the Night Fury Kwami, added as he gestured to himself and the Bald Eagle Kwami, Admiral before the pair went over to Race and the other four made their way over to Sarah.
Paws then told the pair, "You and your friends have proven yourselves worthy of these new crystal powers as we had been watching you since you came to check on the shards themselves following our freedom. We also extend our thanks to the little jackals and the Night Fury dragon with the puppy responsible for freeing us and will pledge our allegiance to you all as a result of your kind actions."
"However, despite your pure hearts and showing that you have no malicious thoughts after gaining them, you and your friends will need help in controlling your new powers and ensuring that they don't fall into the wrong hands. That also includes you two as you can obtain powers beyond what you already know whenever you need them through these," Admiral continued as Paws, Snickers, Enix, and Simon created a small black box for the pair.
Surprised and curious about the box, Sarah took it in her hand and opened it to find several pieces of jewelry in them:
- a pair of earrings shaped like a phoenix
- a charm pendant shaped like a smilodon
- two golden rings (the first with a Mega Lion insignia and the second with the insignia of a male African Lion)
Then, Admiral and Comet did the same for Race but when he took the box and opened it, he found a bracelet with the insignia of a Night Fury on it along with a pendant bearing the mark of a Bald Eagle's talon.
"Those trinkets are our Miraculous - enchanted jewelry containing our power that will allow you two to transform into any of us and use our powers for the greater good should your current powers fail you at any point or may not be enough to win a battle."
"When you need them, put any of them on you and call our names along with 'Claws Out' or 'Blaze Trail' and our powers will be on hand to help you," Simon and Admiral informed as the Kwamis placed the jewelry from the boxes on their new owners.
"Wicked, dudes!"
"Come on, you two! Try 'em out!"
"Yeah, go for it!" Zuma, Rubble, and Rocky cheered at the couple eagerly.
"...….Okay. Snickers, Claws Out!"
"Mmm...…. Comet, Blaze Trail!" the pair boomed, deciding to test out their new powers through the Mega Lion Ring and the Night Fury Charm.
With two of their new widgets, Sarah and Race became animal-themed superheroes:
- With Sarah, the little princess donned the eyes of a cat with purple and yellow sclerae on her right and left eyes respectively, dark green irises, and slitted pupils. Her loose blonde hair is now tied up in a ponytail and she wore a textured white spandex catsuit with metal details, matching gloves with fingertip claws, boots with a hidden wedge, silver toes, and paw-shaped treads, and a long belt wrapped around her waist which hung from the back like a tail. She also donned white lion ears and she had a white mask covering her face while her Mega Lion Ring turned white and had the mark of a yellow paw print on its face. And, to top it all off, she gained a new weapon in the form of an Okinawan bo staff called the Lion Bo which is attached to her lower back
- Race, on the other hand, donned a black spandex bodysuit that had tears at the knee points so the suit could flex more easily with his knees, a black mask over the top half of his face, fake Night Fury ears on his head, a black leather jacket, a spiky silver bell hanging from the front of his neck, a long black belt with silver spikes around his waist and also stuck out from the back like a tail but was tattered at the end, and a pair of calf-high steel-toed black boots that had spikes on the top coupled with wings that can be folded or spread out when needed (intended for flight)
"Whoa!"
"What...?" the royal couple gasped, seeing themselves in their new superhero garbs.
"Sarah!"
"Wow!"
"Look at you!"
"You're amazing!"
"Cool!"
"New powers!" Ash, Mallow, Lana, Kiawe, Sophocles, and Lillie cried in amazement.
"BOOYAH!"
"Oh, new superpowers! How glorious of you to be given new powers to help you!" Cyborg and Starfire grinned excitedly at them.
Even the Dino Fury Rangers and the Rakke Corp were astounded by this until Jun looked at the Kwalis and asked, "So, are you guys the only Kwamis around here?"
"Us? No, we're not the only ones here. If you look inside the second meteor, you'll find several more Kwalis that came with us," Erix replied, turning to the second meteor.
Curious, Zayto and the rest of the Dino Fury team along with the others looked inside the second meteor, and to their surprise, Erix was right; there was a small round white box covered in purple and yellow stripes that had a gold ring around each of the spots on it with each symbol on it depicting a certain Kwamis:
- the top section showcases the following: cat, ladybug, bee, dog, snake, pig/boar, rooster/cock, ox, mouse, and fox
- the middle presents the animals: tiger, crane/stork, leopard, snake, and dragon
- the bottom displays: goat, horse, turtle, rabbit, monkey, peacock, and butterfly
But, the most striking thing about the box was that on top of it was a button that showed a symbol of Nebby.
"Oh, wow...…!"
"Okay, that's a lot of Kwamis for one box to hold," Izzy and Ash gasped.
"It looks like this thing is housing twenty more of these little guys from what the box showed," Aiyon added as he carefully picked up the box and showed it to everyone.
"I don't want to freak out but twelve of them are animals that are depicted in the Chinese zodiac," Ollie noted, seeing the emblems of the pig, rooster, dragon, snake, goat, horse, rabbit, monkey, dog, snake, ox, and mouse in their respective sections.
"And, they've been around for 13.5 billion years since the universe was created via the Big Bang inside that meteor we picked up along with the one containing the PAW Patrol's new crystals," Solon interjected, amazed.
"Amazing! I've never seen anything like this in my life!" Hazel gasped.
"Well, now that you don't need your old ranger powers anymore, I guess you got your new ones taken care of," Amelia told her team's successors.
"That's true."
"If our connection to the Morphin Grid is cut off, at least we have some backups now," Sarah and Race replied as they examined their new powers given to them by their chosen Kwamis.
"Now that we're super, we're gonna need a new name for ourselves!" Rubble grinned as he rolled over to the group (standing next to Solon as he stopped).
"But, why would you pups want to have a new name?" the Solonosaurus asked, puzzled by Rubble's idea as Chase and Hiccup joined them from Rubble's left and right.
"Solon's right, Rubble; we're the PAW Patrol, we got the Dragonstone Patrol, and Hiccup, Tom, and their friends are Dragon Knights and the new team of Power Rangers in training," Chase pointed out in agreement while Skye joined Rubble and Hiccup from their right.
"I know but we're more now. It's like we got something but just a little bit extra... Oh! I know, how about we call ourselves: the PAW Patrol...but more...with just a little bit extra..."
The pups looked at each other but to their amusement, Cadence shot Rubble's idea down as she told him, "Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue."
"You said a mouthful," snarked Harmony in agreement, getting more chuckles out of everyone while Rubble simply remained silent.
Ryder thought about the idea for a moment before he said, "Well, the PAW Patrol and the Dragonstone Patrol are already the Mighty Pups. And, since Hiccup, Astrid, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, Snotlout, and Fishlegs all have superpowers now and they're rangers in training... Aha, I got it! For them, why don't we christen them as the new Power Rangers Mighty Knights?"
"Wow! Cool name! Unh!" the Viking Twins agreed as they banged their helmets, liking the name.
"Power Rangers..."
"...Mighty Knights? …..That's cool," Fishlegs and Snotlout echoed before they looked at each other and nodded with approving smiles, the latter approving the name of their team.
"Rolls off the tongue perfectly."
"No objections."
"Perfect," Astrid, Hiccup, and Zenna approved.
